Kudos to our wonderful ladies and sisters!..

I was shocked when we were two goals down... But thanks be to GOD... for the resilient spirit and determination of our Super Falcons... we finally overcame...

This should teach us as Nigerians... that with a purposeful resolve... we can rewrite our history... because already GOD is for us...

Congrats once again Super Falcons... the sky is just our beginning point...
EducationRe: FG Fixes Age 12 As Minimum For JSS1 Admission by san4P(m): 1:10pm On Jul 25, 2025
ogododo:
The Federal Government has introduced a new guideline setting 12 years as the minimum age for admission into Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS1), following the completion of six years of primary education.

The directive is contained in a newly released policy document on Non-State Schools, which was launched last week by the Federal Ministry of Education.

Non-state schools—also known as private, independent, or non-government schools—are those not operated by government authorities and are typically funded through tuition, donations, and support from individuals, communities, religious groups, businesses, and charitable foundations.

The policy highlights the increasing significance of these schools in delivering education across Nigeria, despite notable differences in standards and quality among them.

Providing a breakdown of age-based progression in early education, the Ministry stated: “Nursery education shall be of three years’ duration. Children shall be admitted into Nursery One when they attain the age of three years, Nursery Two on attaining the age of four, and one year of compulsory pre-primary education (Kindergarten) on attaining the age of five years, in accordance with the specification of Section 2(17) of the NPE, 2013 Edition.”

On the primary and junior secondary school transition, the policy adds: “Basic education shall be of nine years’ duration. There shall be a six-year primary and a three-year Junior Secondary School (JSS). Children shall be admitted into Primary One when they attain the age of six years. Every child must complete six years of primary education. They shall be admitted into Junior Secondary School (JSS1) when they have completed six (6) years of primary education, at around the age of twelve (12) years.”

By implication, students would be expected to complete secondary education at about 18 years, aligning with the previously suggested age for university admission.

Former Education Minister Prof. Tahir Mamman had previously declared 18 years as the minimum age for university entry, though current minister Dr. Tunji Alausa has since revised the threshold back to 16 years.

Data from the Nigeria Education Digest 2022 further underscores the growing dominance of non-state schools, especially at the junior secondary level.

According to the document, “Non-state schools outnumber state schools in at least 26 states of the federation at the Junior Secondary level, whereas at the primary level, state schools outnumber non-state schools in 19 states of the federation.”

It also notes significant growth in the private education sector over the past five years: “The growth in the number of non-state schools between 2017 and 2022 (the last five years reported) has been faster than that of state schools. Non-state primary schools grew in number by 31.56 per cent between 2017 and 2022, while state schools grew in number by 3.3 per cent within the same period. At the Junior Secondary level, non-state schools grew in number by 35.06 per cent between 2017 and 2022, while state schools grew in number by 6.8 per cent only within the same period.”

All these age pegging recently placed by education ministry are backward steps to nation building... It will lead to parents sending their children abroad to achieve their destiny...

Consider this... if you make compulsory that every child must complete secondary school on their 18 years birthday... have you considered cases of those who may repeat classes... and those who are academically excellent...

To be very sincere... considering our need to raise children who are intelligent to solve our national issues... and compete with their fellows globally... these age limitations would be scrapped...

To set things straight... I graduated from university... with a B.Sc at the age of 19 years....

I am of the opinion that this proposed bill is at the extreme...

Private Schools and Private Medical Centres are owned by entrepreneurs.... who pay taxes.. and not detrimental to Nigeria economy and security...

Government public schools and medical centres have helped to ensure these essential services are available to even the low income earners... and some of these institutions receive support from NGOs... and most of these facilities are presently overcrowded...

Erasing the access to these private schools and medical centres by public servants will infringe on their rights to quality services... and also impact the economy by resulting to low sales to these entrepreneurs' businesses

Rather... the bill should propose the Nigerian government ban with respect to sponsoring financial bills of government officials who patronize foreign medical centres and schools...
PoliticsRe: Azerbaijan Invites Nigeria’s Defence Minister Matawalle For Official Visit by san4P(m): 3:43pm On Jul 22, 2025
Ojimaojo11:
The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has been officially invited by the Republic of Azerbaijan for a high-level diplomatic visit.

This invitation was extended by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence Industry, Mr Vugar Mustafayev, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation between the two nations.

According to a statement released by Matawalle’s media aide, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, the visit centres on collaboration in defence production and the transfer of military technology.

During his visit to Azerbaijan, Matawalle held a strategic meeting on 17 July 2025 with the leadership of Improtex Industries in the capital city, Baku.

He was received by Mr Fizuli Alakbarov, President of Improtex, and was given a comprehensive tour of the company’s advanced defence manufacturing lines.

The Nigerian minister inspected cutting-edge military equipment including Mine Sweepers, Multi-Role Armoured Personnel Carriers (MRAPs), firefighting vehicles, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

Improtex, established in 1991, has become a global force in producing tactical vehicles and battlefield support systems.

The visit marks a significant step in Nigeria’s ambition to modernise its defence industry through international collaboration.
How about visiting Proforce... Innoson... and other local automobile makers... These are known known armored vehicles manufacturers...

Although I do not discourage foreign investment coming into Nigeria... but the existing local brands should not just survive... rather do exploits...

Just as I earlier mentioned... It is ultra vires for Nigerian government to patronize a foreign brand while there are existing local brands...

The chap that would build a proper mini refinery would get qualified people to build it and to refine fuel to international standard. These guys? They will make the kind of fuel that would work...while slowly making your engine become like a stage 4 cancer victim.
Although, you have a point... but it takes a genius to invent solutions from crude resources... I do not believe it is right to stab an helper because he is not clothed in royal garment...

I do not support destroying pipelines to steal petroleum resources... nor support those who connive with foreigners to steal precious metals...

But the facts remain that we have a deficit in jobs and wealth creation... and some individuals put in time, efforts, and resources to start up some business...

As long as they are not stolen... let them be encouraged to register with the appropriate agencies... and be recognized as legitimate businesses...

Although the Nigerian Military deserves commendation for this act of patriotic zeal... But it's time we do not use our hands to quench the enterprising spirit in the hearts of other patriots...

I am aware that apart from crude oil ben extracted... other natural minerals around the country are been exploited without documentation...

For us to grow and flourish we need these small and medium businesses... whether those extracting natural resources, or manufacturing, or trading, or any other good venture... We need to encourage them...

It is needful for Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to sensitize entrepreneurs on how to be incorporated in Nigeria... because taxes from these businesses are needful for our national development...

I request that our gallant military release these persons... and instruct them to properly register their businesses...

FRSC Launches All-in-One Mobile App to Boost Road Safety and Digital Service Access • Urges motorists, passengers to download FRSC App

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

As part of her innovative moves to enhance national safety consciousness, reduce preventable road traffic crashes, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has unveil a mobile application; FRSC Mobile Application, which is now available for download on Google Play Store.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal, ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide stated that, "In one of her major breakthroughs in making digital convenience meet public safety, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has once again made a mark in innovation and service delivery with her robust and user friendly Mobile Application called, 'FRSC Mobile App', designed to transform how Nigerians engage with road safety services."

According to the statement, "This Mobile Application is not just a convenience tool, it is a strategic intervention to enhance national safety consciousness and reduce preventable road traffic crashes."

"In a nation where the loss of lives on highways remains a grave concern, this innovation brings solutions right to the palm of every Nigerian. It is no longer acceptable to be uninformed when the tools for protection and compliance are within reach."

"But the success of this initiative depends largely on the willingness of the public to embrace it. This is not just an app, it's a life saving tool, and the Corps calls on all motorists, commuters, logistics operators, fleet managers, and the general public to download and utilize this free application without delay."

"FRSC Mobile Application, which is now available for download on Google Play Store, is a one-stop hub that offers real-time access to critical safety tools, FRSC services, and vital road use information. It represents yet another milestone in the Corps’ pursuit of smarter, safer roads through digital transformation."

"It is more than just a technological upgrade; a strategic response to the growing need for real-time access to FRSC products and services, and timely traffic intelligence. With a few taps on a smartphone, road users across Nigeria can now enjoy end-to-end access to FRSC services, right from the comfort of their homes, vehicles, or offices."

"This all-in-one mobile application has been developed with road users in mind, combining convenience, efficiency, and life-saving tools into a single platform. Through this technology, applicants can easily renew their Driver’s Licence directly through the app, eliminating unnecessary delays and reducing human contact. Through the Mobile Application you can verify the status of both drivers licence and vehicle number plates to ensure that they are truly registered."

"Additionally, the App also gives Real-Time Safety Alerts by notifying users of speed limit violations, helping them stay within safe driving thresholds while promoting responsible behaviours on the road. It also helps to detect Black Spot on the highways. With its seamless access to a mapped database of crash prone areas, users can avoid dangerous routes and plan safer journeys."

"Most importantly, the App also avails you the opportunity to Live National Traffic Radio Streaming. This is to help you stay informed on the go as users can without any ounce of stress, stream National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM to get real time updates on traffic conditions, safety campaigns, and emergency advisories."

"Through the App, you can report obstructions, road traffic crashes as well as disserve by FRSC personnel for prompt response."

"The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed under whose leadership, this technology was birthed while speaking on the benefits of the Application revealed that by bringing FRSC services closer to the people, this app strengthens accountability, reduces bureaucratic bottlenecks, and enhances real time safety awareness. It is a modern tool for a modern society that reflects FRSC’s resolve to tackle road crashes using technology and proactive engagement."

"He maintained that in an era of smartphones and instant information, ignorance is no longer an excuse for unsafe road behaviour or expired documentation. With just a few taps on your device, you can be safer, smarter, and fully compliant on the road."

"The Corps Marshal further called on the public to note that having the FRSC app is not a luxury, but a necessity. All motorists including passengers are admonished to download the FRSC App today because your safety is your responsibility and now, it’s just a tap away."

"For more information on the App, kindly call 122 or visit www.frsc.gov.ng or follow our verified social media platforms@ Facebook.com/FRSCNigeria, X.com/FRSCNigeria, Instagram.com/FRSCNigeria, Youtube.com/FRSCNigeria."

Thank You Jesus
This is a good development...

Apart from the feature of DIY license registration... this App should be expanded to have other emergency features... such as fire disaster, emergency health, road traffic accident, burglary / security alert...

With these additional features.... the upgraded App can work alongside the national emergency hotline... so that Control centres can monitor distress signals from citizens...

If am privilege to become Nigeria president today, this are the three issues I would personally tackle

1. I would solve the electricity problem permanently, stable power inevitably boosts the economy.

2. I would reduce the cost of food and living, subsidize and heavily invest in agriculture, local manufacturing of essentials and cut excess waste.

3. I would end insurgency and insecurity, there would be a complete force reform and overhaul.

With regards to this discussion... beautiful responses have been shared my many... both here and on the streets...

But a better issue to consider is the mirrored version of this question topic... that is...

"As a Citizen of Nigeria, what are the 3 collective things to do to achieve the emergence of a good President?.."

Considering the fact that we have chosen national election as the means of bringing forth our country President... which I would also compare to screening candidates to fill in job vacancies... then here are what I think we need to do:..

1. Don't be a "blind" follower of personalities... whether popular or not... rather ask defining questions prior to the election... because the chosen leader will determine the country outlook...

2. Don't be indifferent... constructively share your choice of candidates policies with those who are naive... so that they also will not remain "blind" followers of those who have nothing to offer... rather would see reasons how their future would be impacted by their choice...

3. Defend your choice... do the needful to be registered early and encourage others to do so... perform the civic duty of voting and wait to hear the results of your polling unit... network with others of like minds to collate declared polling units results and document them... share collated results to the public... with the public aware of the true facts... the people's decision will prevail...

Okay, we want to have a healthcare system like the UK....let us find something like 750 billion dollars a year to get that kind of healthcare system...ie 750 billion dollars for health.

Want to know how much it costs to build a world class hospital in Nigeria? It will cost at least 6 billion dollars. Our health care budget is at least 2-3 billion dollars. And the poor won't be able to go there, because they need to pay back the loans they took for the hospital..so rich people need apply.

The simple reason is this. IN 2023, you guys voted for the same old chop chop government. The oppositon is made up of the same chop chop government. The Nigerian versions of Lee Kwam yeu, Park chung hee, Deng Tsiaoping, even the Meiji Emperor and even people like Stalin , who was brutal, but took the USSR from pesantry to war prepraredness in ten years, because for all his faults, he could see that palaver was coming as far back as 1931.....you won['t vote for them, because they won't give you free money. They will make you work for your money and only give free money to those willing to set up working industries and suchlike.

You want to go to get paper qualificatons so that you work in office, not technicans and vocational stuff that we need for development. We want free light, free fuel, free everything.

And apparently my pointing it out means I am agbado supporter. Person wey no vote tinubu.

Heck you praise millei in Argentina, but you don't want him coming here to rule us. or voting for his equivalents here.

SO, tell me, where are you going to get 750 billion or more for world klass healthcare from cradle to grave? Na to borrow am? You think say the whites and asians will give you free money?

Seriously on this site, we know how to complain and grumble...but when solutions are pointed out, we cry we are all poor. Ok POOR PEOPLE DESERVE POOR HEALTHCARE. Simple and short. cheesy
An intelligent write up... but we do not need such amount to revamp out healthcare... Healthcare is like ICT... it has its branches... and most have been productively harnessed in Nigeria by Entrepreneurs...

I would rather share with you the sole reason why Nigerian leaders seek foreign medical tourism... I learnt this from an Egyptian colleague...

He asked me what I thought was the reason of Nigerian leaders choice of foreign hospitals... I shared some observations... but he said what surprised me...

Nigerian leaders travel abroad for treatment because they always want to appear to the public and their oppositions as always healthy... so they sneak abroad to get some health check-up... then on arrival... their media team snap them at the moment their pose strongest ...

To sum up the matter... he also said that these government officials are usually managed by Nigerian doctors who are based abroad...

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Was This The Life We Were Promised After School?? by san4P(m): 6:50pm On Jul 04, 2025
dominicdavid:
Every day, I see people rushing out by 5AM, struggling through traffic, working long hours, and still barely surviving by the end of the month.

Some are job hunting endlessly — submitting CVs like lottery tickets — yet no response, no opportunities.

Those who are “lucky” to get a job are being paid ₦40k to ₦70k monthly, with responsibilities that drain their health and peace of mind.

This wasn’t the plan.

We were told: “Go to school, get good grades, and everything will fall into place.” But now, many of us are waking up to the harsh reality that the system is broken — and no one is coming to fix it for us.

What hurts more is that a lot of people are silently struggling. Smiling at work. Dressed up every day. But deep down, they are tired, burnt out, and unsure of the next move.

The truth is: waiting on Nigeria alone is no longer a survival plan.

I’m not here to motivate or sell anything. I’m just saying — if you’ve been feeling stuck, confused, or underpaid… you’re not alone.

I had to start looking for alternative ways to earn something decent on the side. Quietly. No noise. Because hoping for change without taking action is a dangerous trap.

Anyone else feeling the same the way??
Although this is not the storyline "the young shall grow" expect to hear... but it is becoming the true reality here in Nigeria...

My take on this is "Dream Again"... this will be my slogan while contesting for Nigeria Presidency...

Let's not be moved by political names... while deciding what becomes of our present and future destiny... if they had had over 20 years in power and could not help relieve the burden of the masses... they can't make a difference even if they were given extra one tenure...

Let's use this platform to constructively dissect candidates... and discern if they actually understand the issues... and have solutions to our present malady...

I know that I have the character... the charisma...and the solutions for good leadership of Nigeria...

CrimeRe: "Lagos Female Bus Driver Beaten By Agberos Over N100" by san4P(m): 11:32am On Jul 02, 2025
[quote author=alphonsoolajide post=135947406]A heartbreaking video has emerged online showing a female commercial bus driver in Lagos State tearfully recounting how she was allegedly physically assaulted by agberos (motor park touts) at the Mowe-Ibafo bus stop, after she refused to pay them illegal levies. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The video, shared by social media user @omoelerinjare on X (formerly Twitter), has sparked widespread outrage, especially as the woman—a mother of two—revealed that her only means of survival has now been compromised.
🚐 Assaulted for Saying “I’ll Pay Later”

In the video, the distressed woman, who relies on driving her bus for income, explained that she had been out of work for over two months due to engine and gear issues with her vehicle.

“I told them I will give them money when I return from my trip. But they beat me, flattened my tyre, and damaged my car. I haven’t worked in two months because of car issues. I’m a mother of two. This is my only hustle,” she sobbed.

The attack allegedly took place when the agberos demanded money upfront, and despite her promise to pay later, they assaulted her, deflated her tyres, and removed parts of her vehicle in full public view.
😡 Nigerians React: “This Is Wickedness”

Outrage poured in from across the country, as netizens condemned the violent extortion of hardworking citizens by so-called transport union officials.

Here are some of the top reactions:

@shegs2348: “Report their branch chairman, the people responsible must pay.”

@Ifeboy6: “This is one of Tinubu’s greatest criminal legacies. What a country—thugs in corridors of power.”

@kinxykel: “A woman hustling legally and men are extorting her? This is wickedness.”

@SYVOZEEK149: “In Cross River, women taxi drivers don’t even pay for tickets, let alone get harassed. Lagos is lawless.”

🔎 The Bigger Picture: Who Protects Nigerian Drivers?

This incident throws a spotlight on the long-standing issue of agbero (touts) extortion in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. Despite being technically illegal, these touts often act with impunity under the guise of union enforcement, demanding unauthorized fees from bus drivers—many of whom are barely surviving.

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and other affiliated groups have long been criticized for operating like criminal gangs, especially in Lagos and Ogun States, where drivers are often forced to pay multiple levies daily.
👩‍🔧 Women in Transport Face More Danger

Women in Nigeria’s commercial transport sector face even greater challenges—from harassment and extortion to physical abuse—often with no formal recourse or support systems. The silence and inaction of law enforcement in cases like this have left many female drivers defenseless and invisible.
✊ Call to Action

Demand Investigation: The Lagos State Government and transport unions must act to identify and penalize the perpetrators.

Protect Female Drivers: Implement policies that protect women in public transport and hold offenders accountable.

Reform NURTW & Unions: Establish strict oversight and end illegal fee collection.

📌 Final Thought

This story is not just about one woman—it’s about every struggling Nigerian trying to make an honest living in a country where survival is a daily battle. If we don’t raise our voices now, more women will suffer in silence.

wonder why hooligans parade themselves around extorting money from diligent workers... It is either one is harassed by touts... or molested by security personnel who use check points to extort money from road users.... so many persons have been victims of these corrupt acts...

All these evil vices must stop... either willingly or by force ..

No corporate union supercede the Sovereignty of Nigeria... if NURTW or RTEAN can't cater for their members and find more polite way to obtain their contributions... then they need to be disbanded...

Anyone who wish to associate themselves to any corporate union should do so on the basis of free will and not compulsory...

Why exactly are we going to school in Nigeria? When we know after all the education there’s no job — Lady asks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ztkLKRflK0?
A painful but true rhetorical question asked silently and in the heart of many youths of our present Nigeria...

A friend shared with me that the children from his community asked why they were forced to go to school... because those who didn't take academics seriously... rather were radical and blew up pipelines... were the ones been catered by the government and having soldiers as escort... meanwhile the "bookworms" were walking around still sharing their "I beg to apply"" CV...

We pray that ALMIGHTY GOD answer our prayers... and give us good leadership...

Although I am up for the race of becoming Nigeria next President... I believe this is my good quota to contribute to our Nigeria revival...
