UncleAyo: I'm not supprised. The government need to prove to us by their actions that they are not the one sponsoring the bandits and terrorists.
I wrote this and others are already contributing too on the thread. What Practical Steps Should Southwest States Take Against Banditry and Terrorism? https://www.nairaland.com/8685199/what-practical-steps-should-southwest
Please, make your suggestion also on that thread. An authorised person may be reading this too and your contributions will be of help
For me
1. Establish a Comprehensive Resident Identity System
The Each State Government should develop a comprehensive resident identity and address verification system to improve security, planning, and service delivery. Every resident should be encouraged to register through a centralized database linked to verified residential addresses. This system will assist law enforcement agencies in identifying criminal elements, tracking suspicious activities, and improving emergency response capabilities while respecting constitutional rights and privacy protections.
2. Registration and Regulation of Herders
All herders operating within Each State should be required to register with the State Government and the relevant Local Government Authorities before engaging in grazing or livestock activities. Registration should include biometric identification, location of operation, livestock records, and compliance with state regulations. This measure will promote accountability, reduce farmer-herder conflicts, and help security agencies identify unauthorized or suspicious activities.
3. Monitoring and Prevention of Violent Extremism
The government should strengthen collaboration between security agencies, community leaders, and religious organizations to identify and prevent violent extremism. Authorities should monitor and investigate individuals or organizations suspected of supporting terrorism, radicalization, or violent activities, regardless of religious affiliation. Any person found to be promoting or financing terrorism should face prosecution in accordance with Nigerian law.
4. Promote Agricultural Self-Sufficiency
Each Southwest State should invest heavily in agriculture to enhance food security and create employment opportunities. Government support should include access to improved seedlings, mechanized farming, irrigation systems, agricultural training, storage facilities, and access to markets. Increased agricultural productivity will reduce economic vulnerabilities and strengthen rural communities.
5. Develop a Community and Neighbourhood Intelligence Network
A structured neighbourhood intelligence network should be established across communities in each state State. Residents, community leaders, traditional institutions, and security agencies should work together to identify emerging security threats and share relevant information. Such a system should operate within legal frameworks and emphasize the protection of citizens' rights.
6. Eliminate Illegal Settlements in Deep Forest Areas
The government should conduct a comprehensive survey of forest reserves and remote settlements. Unauthorized settlements established in deep forests, particularly those linked to criminal activities, should be dismantled through lawful procedures. Forest reserves should be regularly monitored and patrolled to prevent their use as safe havens for kidnappers, bandits, terrorists, and other criminal groups.
7. Swift Prosecution of Serious Crimes
The State Government should strengthen collaboration with the judiciary and security agencies to ensure the swift investigation and prosecution of kidnapping, terrorism, banditry, illegal arms trafficking, and organized crime. Fast-track procedures should be considered for cases involving serious threats to public safety while ensuring due process and fair trials.
8. Establish Formal Reporting Channels for Suspicious Activities
Multiple reporting channels should be created to enable citizens to report suspicious activities safely and confidentially. These channels may include dedicated hotlines, mobile applications, community liaison officers, and local security committees. Public awareness campaigns should educate citizens on how and when to report security concerns.
9. Promote Civic Education and Constitutional Values
Schools across each State should strengthen civic education programs that teach constitutional rights, responsibilities of citizenship, peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and respect for the rule of law. Young people should be equipped with the knowledge and values necessary to contribute positively to society and resist extremist influences.
10. Prosecute Incitement to Violence
The government should adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward incitement to violence, hatred, terrorism, or public disorder. Individuals who promote violence through public speeches, religious gatherings, traditional institutions, political platforms, social media, or any other means should be investigated and prosecuted according to the law, regardless of their status or background.
11. Expand Vocational and Technical Education
Each State should significantly expand vocational and technical education opportunities to equip young people with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship. Training programs should focus on modern agriculture, information technology, construction, renewable energy, manufacturing, and other high-demand sectors. Empowering youth economically will reduce vulnerability to recruitment by criminal organizations and extremist groups.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans Celebrate Arsenal's Champions League Loss by sandra2025(f): 9:54am On May 31 |
kanmie: Rooney 🗣️ “I’ll be completely honest, Arsenal were absolutely robbed tonight, there is no other way to put it. You look at that foul on Noni Madueke in the box; it’s a stonewall, 100% clear penalty. How the referee or VAR hasn't given that is beyond me, and it completely changes the dynamic of a Champions League final.
But for me, the moment that truly gave it away the moment you knew exactly what the referee was doing was that halftime whistle. To blow the whistle right as Arsenal are literally standing there about to take a corner? I’ve played this game a long time, and you rarely see that unless there’s a blatant bias. It was shocking, and it set the tone for everything that followed.
In the second half, it became a totally different game, and not because of the football. The referee made absolutely sure that every single 50/50 call, every little nudge, and every major decision went straight to PSG. It completely killed Arsenal’s momentum. But to be fair, I’m not even surprised. We saw the exact same story when they played Bayern Munich earlier in the tournament. The officiating was heavily skewed then, and it’s happened again on the biggest stage.
PSG might be lifting the trophy, but they cannot honestly look at themselves in the mirror and be proud of the way they’ve won this final. To win the biggest prize in club football like that? It leaves a horrible taste. Arsenal deserved so much more tonight.” You don't even know what you're saying. That run in by Madueke was not even near a penalty call. Madueke was the one stretching his hand in between the defender and he went down mildly without fuss. What about the double handball by Saka in his own 18, why did the referee not blow a penalty in favour of PSG? Forget sentiment, Arsenal did not do well in the penalty. That's the fact. Take it or leave it, the better team won. Arsenal should wait for another 50 years before they can win the UCL. |

Romance › Re: They Have Used Sir Sir To Block My Advances by sandra2025(f): 12:47pm On May 20 |
Kalulu44: Good day ladies and gentlemen of the great NL house! Before I go into the main gist. I want to first apologize to those who thinks I write stories too much and they're sometimes long and boring to them. Let me introduce myself first. I'm a single father of 3 who lost his Benin wife to their Japa syndrome since 2010 and never seen or heard from till today. By God's grace, after 20yrs of driving commercially to survive and train the kids, I formally retired last year. Not bcus the job wasn't lucrative, but bcus I was warned to stop after having some series of severe back pain, neck pain and leg pain. Thankfully, before retiring I managed to win over a hired purchased bus that's fending for my 3 kids who are staying with my aunt who at 60+ doesn't have a husband nor a child. Not wanting to stay idle, I currently work as a security personnel at a Guest House from 7pm to 11pm, while taking care of the owners house which is just beside it during the day. The owner is in US. So I practically stay in the big house all alone. Honestly there's no much work for me to do there other than weeding and cleaning the compound once every week. The rest of the day is just for eating, browsing and sleeping. Not wanting to be lonely and depressed is why I am almost online everyday, writing stories and gossips about my surroundings. Like I always said, 90 to 95% of my stories are real life stories with the other percents like adding maggi, salt and spices to make it sweet or interesting. I love writing, reading, driving, music, movies, sports especially football and watching documentary on history and biographies. . Now to the main gist. I lived and work in an area fully surrounded by hostels occupied by students and youths working in Chinese companies in Ogun state. Electricity in the area is epileptic and comes once every week. Luckily for me, due to the guest house, I have 24/7 light from either solar or generator which makes water abundance for me. But the students and workers are not that lucky. So majority of them always looks for where to charge their phone and also gets water. When lights come, they normally pump water in their hostels, but it doesn't last more than two days. Like two to three compounds normally used generator to pump water where they always go to. Sometimes the owners of those places allows them, sometimes they rejecting them. Another only source of water in the street is a well at the extreme end of the street, it's stressful for some of them. . I started working where I am now January this year, but I always stay on my own and just observing the students and workers. For me to make friends with some of them, I started getting water for some of them that usually greets me. If I see they have walked and walked looking for water and didn't see, I will just tell the person to drop his bucket and then go inside and get water from them. But anytime I do this, they always thank me with sir sir. One among them, who was learning hairdresser and selling men clothes online, approached me one day and begged for her to use my compound to make videos of her clothes. I obliged her and ever since then which was February, we have been friends. . With time I began to like her, but her constant good morning sir, good evening sir just like the other girls used to greet me always discouraged me from telling her my mind about her. After Easter my phone got spoilt and for close to 3 weeks I didn't have chance to go to Lagos and repair it. And it was the time my feelings for her became strong. I didn't know how to approach her, so I used the opportunity of her giving me her phone to charge for her to write down my feelings for her on a sheet of paper and attached it at the back of her phone. . When it was time to collect it, I told her there's a note I attached in her phone that she should read it. She collected it, thank me and bade me goodnight sir while bowing down a little as a Yoruba girl she's. Hoping to get answer the next day, even though I was apprehensive on how she will take or react about it. My people, this is 3 weeks now since I wrote that letter and she hasn't said anything or confronted me on why I wrote such notes. But we have been greeting and talking to each other since the next day after the note till date, and both of us pretending such never happened. I said to myself once I repair my phone, I will send her a msg asking what she thought about my note and why hasn't she replied. I got my done last week, and I still don't have the courage to ask her both in person or thru msg. . But there's a reason why I haven't. In between those times my phone was still spoilt and the note sent to her. There was an electrician who came to do some repairs in my compound sent by my boss. It was same time she too came to do videos of her clothes in my compound. The electrician told me he like her that I should run her for him. I told him I can't that he should go himself. So he used the guise of wanting to buy her clothes and approached her. I sha know they exchanged numbers. This was 2 weeks ago, so last week when the electrician came to finish his work, he ask me of her. I told him I thought you collected his number the other day. He said he did, and that he has bought clothes of 30k from her. But that when he tries to pushed further about dating her, she told him she has a guy. . Hmmmm.... I heave to myself and asked him his next line of action. He said he'll pushed further. I just mutter the words ok o. So since that last week, hearing she has a serious guy, (even though she hasn't brought any guy home or any man came looking for her unlike some of the other girls) It just makes my resolve of asking her what she thinks about my note weak. But we do see and talk everyday, but her constant "es'e sir, ekaro sir" always puts me off. I don't know if she's deliberately doing that so I will know she respects me as an elderly person. By the way she's 28 while I'm in my early 40s. . To the other girls, I am getting closer to some of them. But they too wants to kill me with sir sir sir, and thereby knocking me off of asking any of them out. All these is bcus one of my child a girl who's 17 came to visit me one day. But the truth is I am seriously lonely, bored and depressed at times. If not for NAIRALAND and Sportsnews and YouTube, only God knows what I would have done to myself. I really need one of them as an acquaintance and if it can lead to a serious relationship, I am ready for it. Just that I don't know how to go about it with the over respect they're according me. . So I am asking for womanology experts who knows how to go about this to give me some tips. The pictures attached to this post are mine, am I too old in the true sense of it or what. Cus physically I look young and agile to most of the guys I see some of them hang around with and I am not mincing words here. I will welcome any thoughts from you all, both insults and good advice. After all I made the post to get engagement and discussion to kill off boredom. Thanks and good day to you all once again. Is this your story real or imagination? |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal: Title Contenders Or Just ‘almost’ FC Again? by sandra2025(f): 6:53am On May 07 |
SportConn: Let’s be honest.
1️⃣ Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have clearly improved. The football is more organized, the mentality looks stronger, and they’re no longer pushovers against big teams.
2️⃣ Players like Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard are carrying serious responsibility and delivering. Young core, big potential.
3️⃣ But here’s the issue… when pressure hits, Arsenal still wobble. We saw it last season, leading the table for long, then falling short when it mattered most.
4️⃣ Is it a mentality problem or just lack of squad depth compared to teams like Manchester City?
5️⃣ Another angle: recruitment. Arsenal have spent big, but are all signings actually improving the squad or just adding numbers?
6️⃣ Defensively, they look better, but one injury to a key player and everything starts shaking. That’s not title-winning stability. So the big question:
Can Arsenal actually win the Premier League soon, or are they stuck in the “almost” phase?
Be honest, no bias.
Are Arsenal genuine title challengers or just overhyped? Arsenal will definitely win the EPL (90% sure). Champions League - Arsenal 40% VS PSG 60% win I told my Arsenal friends to start gathering money to buy 5 cartons of beer, as this is their best year of winning EPL. Anyways, I am Manchester City fan since 2012. |

WriteerNg: I have a theory. It might sound stupid but still.
I think he has a parasitic organism inside him that cannot survive in a live host.
So for the parasite to live, it has to ensure it's host is dead, it has to control its hosts brain and thinking, maybe make him feel like he's been choked to influence his decisions of cutting himself. To relief the pressure around his neck.
You can see how relieved he was after cutting his neck, when the blood was pumping out, like a noose was just removed from his neck.
Before he realizes what he has done, it is already too late and then his body dies. The parasite then gets to feed on his body, maybe for months until there's nothing left.
Then it starts searching for its next host.
I've seen several such cases. If we had good scientific research centres, his case would be thoroughly studied. You watch too much alien parasitic horror movies. What just happened is not a sci-fi movie clip, but frustration on the part of that young man. He may have taken enough drugs, has AIDS, or his girlfriend cheated on him or maybe supernatural possession etc. Anyways, good riddance to bad rubbish. |
