PRESS STATEMENT ON THE RAIDING OF THE HOME OF DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT EKWEREMADU

I just finished speaking to the Deputy Senate President and he confirmed to me that his home was raided by security forces today.

This is shameful and shocking. Raiding the homes of our friends and leaders like Ekweremadu and harrasing their children will not deter, stop or silence those of us that are in the opposition. It will only harden our hearts and strengthen our resolve.

As each day goes by more and more people have come to accept the fact that the Buhari administration is a government of FASCISTS and BEASTS.

They are led and guided by dark and sinister forces whose sole agenda is to divide our people and destroy our country.

It is about time that Nigerians woke up and stood up to their madness and tyranny.

We must employ all lawful means to resist them and expose them for what they are. Not only are they incompetent but they are also sadistic and wicked.

Nowhere in the world do citizens sit by idly and say nothing when their rights are being violated in this way.

The Federal Government is trying to foster and engender an atmosphere of fear and terror and this will not work because we refuse to be intimidated.

You illegally and indefinately lock up Sambo Dasuki, El Zak Zaky, Ifeanyi Uba and countless others and you criminalise them before the world.

Worse still you refuse to bring them before the courts of law or to give their lawyers full and free access to them.

You demonise opposition members and those that criticise your government whilst you treat your own party members and government officials as if they were angels and saints even when and where they indulge in monuemental acts of depravity and corruption.

Instead of protecting the lives Nigerians from the barbaric Fulani militias and herdsmen and other genocidal maniacs you are using the security forces to wage war against the opposition and the Nigerian people.

We expected this sort of thing from the tyrant called President Buhari but we did not expect it from Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

He is an erudite lawyer and a gentleman of good stock and noble blood and he really should know better.

My belief is that the Acting President may not have known about this barbaric raid and if that is the case I implore him to put a leash on his dogs and stop them from terrorising innocent Nigerians.

Their behaviour is not only shameful but it is also uttterly reprehensible and let them be rest assured that their desperate attempt to dehumanise us and bring us to our knees will fail because God is with us.

An attack on or the violation of the constitutional rights of Ekweremadu or any other opposition figure or dissenting voice in this nation is an attack on ALL of us.

This sort of thing MUST STOP because this is a democracy and not a military dictatorship.

ON EL-RUFAI'S LIES AGAINST JONATHAN ON THE SHARING OF THE ECOLOGICAL FUND

That Malam Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State has an incurable knack for lying has been proven by his own boss, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo who described El-Rufai in his book-My Watch Volume 2 as follows:

“Nasir’s penchant for reputation savaging is almost pathological. Why does he do it? He is brilliant and smart. I grant him that also. Very early in my interaction with him, I appreciated his talent and brilliance. At the same time, I recognised his weaknesses; the worst being his inability to be loyal to anybody or any issue consistently for long, but only to Nasir el-Rufai. He barefacedly lied which he did
to me against his colleagues and so-called friends. I have heard of how he ruthlessly savaged the reputation of his uncle, a man who was like, in the African setting, his foster father. I shuddered when I
heard the story of what he did to his half-brother in the Air Force who is senior to him in age.”

With such a description, we are not surprised at his recent comments after the just concluded National Economic Council meeting where he accused former President Jonathan of only sharing the National Ecological Fund to PDP States. Mr. El-Rufai lied as follows:

"What President Goodluck Jonathan did was to take N2bn each from the Ecological Fund and gave to some PDP states. Any PDP state that was not his friend, like Kano and Kwara, didn’t get."

It is so easy to expose Malam Nasir El-Rufai as a liar being that Akwa-Ibom, a PDP state governed by the then Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and a close confidante and major supporter of the then President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, did not get the monies alluded to by Malam El-Rufai from the Ecological Fund as did multiple other PDP states including Ekiti state, a state governed by a thoroughbred patriot and Jonathan supporter, Ayo Fayose.

Also, it is false that non-PDP states did not get monies from the fund. Nemesis catches up faster with liars than any other agent of evil. El-Rufai was probably led by the gods against his own sinister plot to confess in another breathe that States under non-PDP parties like APGA and Labour party also benefitted.

The fact remains that the Ecological Fund is a specialized fund with certain constitutional requirements which must be met before a state can access the funds. EVERY state benefitted from the fund under President Jonathan who bent over backwards to accommodate states that had difficulty meeting the criteria for accessing the fund.

El-Rufai’s sinister narrative was intentionally silent on the over N10 billion specially deployed to fund the Great Green Wall (GGW) project in some northern states, in view of the need to work with the rest of Africa on the African initiative to check desert encroachment in the Sahelian states. These states included Zamfara, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina and Adamawa. Others are Yobe, Borno and Kano which belong to Mallam El-Rufai’s class of ‘non-friendly’ states that he alleged never benefitted from any discretionary fund.

Similar principle applies to the conditions for accessing the Universal basic Education fund where some states have not had access to what is due them, because they are yet to fulfill the mandatory criteria for allocation. Would it then be right in the name of El-Rufai’s position on equity to blame the failure of those states to access their UBEC funds on Jonathan?

It is really sad that judicious presidential interventions to tackle emergencies and other pressing national needs are being interrogated in a rather facile manner, by those who never get tired of playing dirty politics.

Nigerians may recall that this is not the first time that El-Rufai has vented his known passion for lying against the former President.

The public will recall that in October 2015 he falsely alleged that former President Jonathan spent a whopping N64 billion on Independence Day celebrations, during his tenure when in fact only N333 million was
spent.

Nigerians may also recall that this same El-Rufai falsely accused former President Jonathan and former CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of founding and funding Boko Haram to the tune of N50
billion.

We can only wonder what new false accusation El-Rufai may come up with
tomorrow, as with him it is a case of one day, one lie!

We therefore urge Nigerians to "be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath" whenever this notorious liar opens his mouth.

ENUGU – NATIONAL president of Ohaneze Ndigbo youth wing, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro has called on the federal governnent to release the chairman of capital oil, Ifeanyi Uba within 48 hour.

According to Vanguard, Isiguzoro threatened that the youths should go on massive protest if the government failed to release Ifeanyi Uba within 24 hour.

“We are giving the DSS 48 hour to release Ifeanyi Uba from detention and if they failed to do so, we will embark on massive protest in Abuja and other states”, Isiguzoro threatened.

Also speaking, NUJ South East vice president, Chris Isiguzo called on the DSS to release ifeanyi Uba in accordance with the court rulling.

He urged federal government agencies to follow court order in order not to lead Nigeria into anarchy.

“DSS should work in accordance with the rule of law and release the Authority publisher Ifeanyi Uba within 48hours”, Isiguzo said.

This was made during an event organised by Authority Newspapers to honour and appreciate the pet projects of the wives of five South East governors in Enugu.

Ealier in an open remark, the chairman of the ocassion, Barr Goddy Uwazurike lauded the authority Newspaper for organising such event.

He urged women leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo to use her prestigous office to mobilise women and children above 18 to come out en-mass to participate in ongoing voter registration.

Uwazurike told them that voters card is their right “you have the right to vote for your right,if you have voters card”.

National president Ohaneze Ndigbo women wing, Mrs Calista Adimmachukwu who said that women are the light promised to use the power to mobilse both women and men to come out and register.

Lolol. I'm serious. To be honest, I don't think it was up to ten minutes. I grabbed the shovel like a man, scooped sharp sand...1..2..,3 around fourteen or so, I held my waist. My eyes were twisted by now. I stood up and pretended, using the head of the shovel to gather sand going out of reach. Smh. Another try and it dawned on me that I could die at any moment.
