@emiye.Good!now u r soundin fair.she is doin evry tin possible to get a job.buys guardian tues @ times,checks hotnigerian job.infact u can imagine Msc holder sayin she is ready to take up ajob of 30k if she sees one.just dat she is limited to her state of residence cos of her kids.so even when she sees vacancies in places like lagos,abuja,PH,etc she still can't apply cos of relocation

Somepple were askin if her hubby has papers abroad there n if he has a steady job.of course he does.he's been there for more than 4 yrs.d end point is dat d hubby can do more than that if he so wishes but for reasons best known to him,does not want.like I told my friend.she've got no option than to try as much as possible to make do wit d 50k for now.she is not even demandin for increament monthly but for some months when expenses r high like last month she had to pay 5300 for soakaway

When I created thread,I never knew it would get dis much attention.I've taken time to go through all d contributions so far and had to refer dat my friend to dis forum(not a nairalander)to read all d contributions.after reading it she was really hurt my what some pple said especially FXWARRIOR. PLS HERE'S A SAMPLE OF HER MONTHLY EXPENSES AS SHE WROTE IT: Fuel for car n gen-6k
Gas-3500
Pampers-4500
PHCN-4500
Cerelac-7500
SMA-7800
TOTAL-37 300
Then feeding,toiletries,makin her hair,multi vitamins for her 2 kids cos they don't always hav appetite for food.

So 50k minus 37 300 is 12 700.from her list,is it not obvious dat she spends almost everytin on d kids especially d 15 months old baby.accordin to her,inorder to make ends meet,she no longer subscribe to DSTV,her car's been parked for some months.d pampers is 2500 for her baby n 1500 for her 3 yrs old son cos he uses it at nite while sleepin,her PHCN is never less than 4500 despite several complaints,d cerelac is 5 tins a month at 1500 each cos dats what d baby agrees to take.d baby would rather starve than take cheaper tins like pap which she hav tried severally.d SMA is for 2 tins of d big SMA for toddlers wit green cover

I know some pple will still accuse her of havin d 'my hubby is abroad'mentality but then its not true cos I know how she behaves n d way she dresses.@JAHBLESSME n @CHIDYHEYS,u both hav idea of what it means to make do wit d 50k.I am also a mother wit 2 kids like dis my friend n I must say it is not easy cos of her 15 months old baby.I tell u,assumin d baby was up to 3 yrs,it would hav been easier to manage 30k than managin 50k wit a 15 months old baby
Mothers in d houz will understand what I am talkin about cos babies r very expensive especially when one is unlucky to hav a baby dat rejects cheaper food like pap for expensive ones like cerelac.is she also showin off wit givin her baby cerelac definitely no cos she does dat in d confines of her home where no one is watchin unless on occassions she is outside.is she also showin off n yet parked her car for now while she carries her 15 months old baby n hold her 3 yrs old son while takin him to skul?definitely no.is she showin off n yet no longer subscibe to DSTV not mindin when her friends can visit n request to watch' E'?of course not
So let's be rational in our analysis cos YES she can make do wit d 50k but it won't be easy.for instance she said their soakaway got filled last month n each flat was asked to pay 5 300.u see,its still from d 50k dat she will foot d bill.so pls let's be rational here

@FXWARRIOR Hey!u r really harsh on dis issue.sounding like 50k is a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY..I agree she can find a way to manage it (like I advised her)but it will mean forfeiting a lot of her need.u keep makin reference to d past,was d economic condition of d country then d same as today.Now tell me MR FX WARRIOR,when her husband spends not less than 200k monthly when he is around,why then will he send 50k when he goes back to d states.so his wife n kids should enjoy only when he is around.if its as easy as u sound to manage 50k a month,why don't her hubby stick to d same rule when he is around.ok,so he can't manage as he is used to life of affluence abroad but then his wife n kids can. @FXWARRIOR u keep comparing her to families of state civil servants.for cryin out loud,her husband is not in dat grade ok?here's a man doin very well over there but u would rather his family live like civil servant families.wit d way u r analysin dis issue,I bet ur wife is or will be out for a hard time.trust me.

Your baby is a year plus why cerelac and sma? Why not make grains powder and soya +groundnut and crayfish then add sma progress as milk...........all these won't cost you much.

yes there is.d big SMA toddler wit green cover.as for givin only cerelac n SMA,she hav tried many cheaper options includin pap n even solid foods like rice etc but her baby would hav none of it.remember some baby r too choosy during weaning period.

@Iranoladun yes I told her exactly what u suggested.she should substitute cerelac for sometin cheaper n may consider using napkin at homw while pampers will be for goin out. Seeing the different opininons of pple so far, I will make her realise dat cuttin her costs n makin do wit d 50k will be best

Hello houz,a close friend of mine came to see me today n she complained bitterly dat her hubby abroad sends her 50 thousand naira every month for her upkeep n dat of her 2 kids.accordin to her,d 50k is for everytin excluding houz rent n her children's skul fees.from her breakdown,d money is not always enough cos she buys fuel for her car n gen,pay NEPA bill,buy cookin gas,pay hospital bill when ssickness comes n above all her 1 year plus baby takes so much money in terms of cerelac(not less than 4 tins a month at 1500 each tin),SMA milk(not less than 2 tins @ 3900 each) and pampers.apart from d above stated expenses,she will also buy her soap,cream,her children's own,her perfume n other stuffs.then once in a while she or her children will need clothes(cos hubby does not send). The issue now is dat she've given hubby a breakdown of these expenses n begged for increament of her allowance(even if not monthly,at least some months) but her hubby refused sayin some families use less of dat amount monthly.she is confused n do not know what else to do(she's been lookin for a job witout success so far).I advised her the best way I could but I am bringin it here to get more suggestions on how she can best handle dis situation.pls give ur opininos cos she was even asking me if I think she is not economical,if its her fault dat the 50k monthly upkeep is not enough for her n d a2 kids

Only God in heaven knows d truth about reasons for their divorce. But if Ini actually cheated then too bad.whether we(ladies) like it or not, mojority of men cheat on their wives(n some wives cheat too) but then it does not justify we. Wives to cheat too cos when a father flirts in a marriage,it may not affect d children's moral upbringin but when a mother flirts,it will surely affect the children's moral(especially d daughters). So my point is-mothers let's forget whatever our hubby does in terms of cheatin n think of our kids n d examplary life we need to set for them.that is what makes us mothers. Talkin about distant marriage,I must say it takes d grace of God and high uncompromisable value to stay faithful when hubby stays abroad.I am talkin from experience here.my hubby stays abroad n at times I don't see him for close to 2 yrs.but in d end its about knowin d right tin to do before God n man n decidin to do it nomata how hard.God help our marriages.

I just got an offer from an international skul in PH at a salary of 80k monthly while a friend of mine was offered 100k monthly by d same skul.is it advisable I accept it considerin d partiality.my friend has qualification in edu witout msc while I hav no qualification in edu but wit bsc n msc.pls I need opinions.

In my little time in the job market, the power to negotiate is key. When asked, do not give a specific figure give a range say 1kobo-1.50kobo and tell them you are open to negotiations-especially when you have gone far above their price, but before then tell them that they should pay you based on the salary structure they have for entry level, that is if you are new in the teaching profession.
