All parties are the.same, this election should be about individuals not necessarily parties, some Apc governed states have performed worse than pdp controlled states, take fayose as an example to the the shocking results that we would Witness, however I must say Gej really lost goodwill he had in 2011,the level of corruption is killing.2015 election is likely to send gej out just depending on Apc primaries which I consider crucial, 4 out of the 6 region are against him, even US goverment wants him out because of corruption.

Politics / Next lagos State Governor : Leke Pitan Vs Ambode by sartorius(m): 10:08am On Oct 28, 2014
A governorship aspirant on the platform of Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Leke Pitan, has appealed to all his counterparts on the party’s platform to desist from acts that may arm the party’s chances as it looks forward to pick its standard-bearer for the 2015 Governorship Election.
“We hope all those thinghttp://www.yohaig.com/newspapers/nigerian-tribune/ambode-were-not-aggrieved-pitan/s are curtailed and we strongly appeal that we should conduct ourselves in a way not to arm the party. We know how best practices are done in the party,” he charged.
The aspirant, who was former commissioner for health in the state, said this while speaking with Sunday Tribune on phone when his reaction was sought on a report published in our sister paper, Saturday Tribune.
The paper had reported that some of his co-aspirants, who appear to be aggrieved on plans to impose Mr Akin Ambode as the party’s candidate by the leadership were already holding secret meetings with their counterparts in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in what can be termed a cross party fraternity with a view to defeat Ambode, should he be eventually forced on them.
Pitan, who, denied knowledge that some of his colleagues were aggrieved as a result of the perceived imposition of Ambode, said he was only aware of the fact that every aspirant on the party’s platform was in support of the emergence of a consensus candidate as the APC standard-bearer in the 2015 governorship election.
“I am not aware of any such meeting between aspirants on our party and those on the PDP platform. I am only aware of plans for a consensus arrangement amongst aspirants in our party, that is, aspirants talking amongst themselves to produce a consensus candidate. You know we are mature people. That is what consensus means,” he said

This is the country’s first Ebola death outside Lagos and the sixth fatality in Nigeria.

Health Ministry spokesman, Dan Nwomeh, confirmed that the doctor had treated a primary contact of Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American who brought Ebola to Lagos.

Health Minister, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, also said that the doctor had died on August 22, but the results of the tests have only just been made public.

Controversy, however, trail the number of people under surveillance. The Health Minister said that 70 people are under surveillance in the city, while his wife has been put under quarantine.

However, the Rivers State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Samson Parker, said that 100 contact persons are under surveillance and that a 24-hour surveillance has been declared on all contacts, including patients of the late Dr Iyke Enemoah.

The diplomat, who has since recovered, was part of the team who met with Patrick Sawyer in Lagos.

The World Health Organization says the Ebola outbreak, which has killed 1,427 people, is the largest ever Ebola epidemic and has infected an estimated 2,615 people.

Liberia has been hardest-hit of the affected countries, with 624 deaths and 1,082 cases since the start of the year.

The Director of the Centers for Disease Control, Tom Frieden, has said that the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is going to get worse before it gets better.

The top US public health official said that the epidemic would need an “unprecedented” response to bring it under control.

Health ministers from across West Africa are due to meet in Ghana on Thursday to discuss the growing crisis.

A British nurse, infected with Ebola while working in Sierra Leone, has been flown to London for treatment. The nurse, William Pooley, is sitting up and in good spirits, according to the Royal Free London hospital. He has also begun taking ZMapp, an experimental drug made by a San Diego company.
That company also provided doses of ZMapp to two American aid workers infected with Ebola. Both recovered. But a Liberian doctor who received ZMapp died earlier this week. Doctors say it's not possible to tell if ZMapp is helping patients, because about half of Ebola patients recover on their own without it. [/quote]

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - AUGUST 21: American scientist David Safronetz hands over a more
An employer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been flown back to the USA from West Africa on a charter flight after being exposed to Ebola.

The CDC employee is not sick, has no symptoms of Ebola and "therefore poses no Ebola-related risk to friends, family, co-workers or the public," the CDC said in a statement Wednesday.
The Ebola virus can take anywhere from a few days to three weeks to cause symptoms.
The worker is not being isolated and can return to regular work duties at the CDC, but will be monitored for 21 days for fever or any other symptoms of Ebola, the agency says. The employee "practiced good personal infection control" while in West Africa, the CDC says.
Ebola has killed more than 120 of the more than 240 health workers infected with Ebola.
The CDC says the employee in question had a "low-risk contact" with an international health worker who tested positive for Ebola, working within three feet of the sick person while the sick person had symptoms.
According to CDC policy, staff exposed to Ebola are only allowed to "travel long distance" by "private means" for 21 days after the last contact. The rule is based on the fact that people could become ill during flight and need "timely access" to care if needed, the CDC says.
Earlier this month, CDC director Thomas Frieden said his agency was "surging up" and sending 60 employees to West Africa to help contain the outbreak.
All CDC staff who return from working in the outbreak area check their temperatures twice a day for fever, and have been instructed to call a doctor immediately if they develop a fever or other symptoms.
Canada evacuated three members of a mobile laboratory team from Sierra Leone, after people at the hotel complex where the three were staying were diagnosed with Ebola. Although the Canadians have no symptoms, they are in voluntary isolation.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 1,400 people have died from Ebola and more than 2,600 have been infected -- more than all other previous Ebola outbreaks combined.
Ebola has killed more than 120 of the more than 240 health workers infected with Ebola.
On Tuesday, the WHO said it pulled workers from one of its own posts at Kailahun in Sierra Leone after a worker became infected. It said it will reopen the post after it reassesses safety there. Other workers remain in the country, WHO said. The WHO worker, from Senegal, has been flown to a German hospital for treatment.

Business / Lagos May Emerge Oil Producing State Next Year by sartorius(m): 7:56am On Aug 27, 2014
LAGOS State may join the league of oil producing states in the country by next year, with the expected commencement of production from the Aje oil field, offshore Badagry.

Specifically, thhttp://ngrguardiannews.com/business/176610-lagos-may-emerge-oil-producing-state-next-yeare Yinka Folawiyo-led joint venture has completed development-planning studies of the Aje oil field and planned to proceed with field start-up arrangements immediately.

The partners said the Final Investment Decision (FID) are expected in the near future with first production expected at the end of 2015.

The Field Development Plan (FDP), which was approved by the Nigerian Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) early this year, is primarily focused on the Cenomanian oil development.

The Aje Cenomanian crude is light, sweet under-saturated oil of approximately 39.4 API gravity with a gas oil ratio of 375-480 standard cubic feet per barrel (scf/bbl).

The joint venture participants have undertaken detailed development planning studies of the Aje field, which have now been completed and they are currently considering the proposal to proceed with the Phase 1 Cenomanian oil development.

Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum is operating the field with partners like Jacka Resources, New AGE, First Hydrocarbons Nigeria, Energy Equity Resources and Panoro Energy.

Chairman Jacka Reources, Max Cozijn, in a statement Tuesday said: “Jacka is pleased to achieve this milestone in the development of the Aje Field and of the company.

“Following the final investment decision by the joint venture the first significant activity in the field will be the drilling of Aje-5 and the completion of this well and the existing Aje-4 well, in first quarter 2015. Installation of the production facilities, including tying the wells to the FPSO, will occur later in 2015. Jacka looks forward to achieving first commercial production at the end of 2015,”

According to him, an independent report on the Aje field recently completed by AGR TRACS International on behalf of the joint-venture partners has indicated that the gross 2P oil reserves for the Phase 1 Cenomanian oil development are 23.4 million barrels.

The gross 2C contingent resources total an additional 179 million barrels of oil equivalent, of which 15.7 million barrels of oil is attributable to the Phase II Cenomanian oil development and the remainder to the later Turonian gas/condensate development.

The Aje Field is located in OML113, approximately 24 kilometres offshore Lagos, Nigeria.

OML113 covers an area of 835 square kilometres and water depths range from less than 100 metres to approximately 1,500 metres. The field, which is defined by 3D seismic, can be developed with wells drilled in conventional water depths of approximately 100-400 metres.

The company said, a new 3D seismic survey, covering the whole of OML113, was acquired earlier in 2014 and will be used for locating subsequent development wells as well as pursuing exploration and appraisal targets, including the possible extension of the Ogo discovery from the adjacent OPL310 exploration area.

The initial field discovery well, Aje-1 was drilled in 1996. A total of four wells have now been drilled on the Aje Field and hydrocarbon resources proven at three reservoir levels (Turonian, Cenomanian and Albian).

“An initial field production rate of approximately 10,000 barrels of oil per day is anticipated. Solution gas will be used as fuel. Drilling and completion operations are expected to commence in Q1 2015, with FPSO installation in mid-2015.

“All major contractors have been identified (FPSO, installation, flowlines, drilling among others) and contracting discussions are advanced, in most cases to draft contracts; which provides assurance on cost and availability of services.” it stated.

“No crude sales agreements have yet been entered into for the project but as the Cenomanian oil is a light crude and the project is located on major shipping routes to and from Nigeria’s main oil producing areas, sales and access to transport is not expected to be a problem.

“Following the approval of the FDP by the Nigerian authorities in Q1 of this year, there are no major environmental or regulatory approvals outstanding,” it stated.

Health / Ebola Lands In Congo by sartorius(m): 6:44am On Aug 25, 2014
Johannesburg/New York: The Democratic Republic of Congo said as many as 13 people have died of Ebola in a separate outbreak from the one raging in three West African nations. It is the sixth reported outbreak in that country since 1976.
“Laboratory tests in two cases were positive for Ebola in a remote village in the northwestern corner ofhttp://www.livemint.com/Politics/NzrGTWxbzlZt5ZHUxDUSvL/Congo-says-Ebola-virus-kills-13-in-separate-African-outbreak.html the country, and 11 other deaths are suspected of being from the virus,” said Lambert Mende, the country’s information minister, in a telephone interview yesterday.
“The strain of the Ebola in the Congo is different than the one seen in West Africa,” according to Mende. “Among the dead are a doctor and four nurses,” he said.
“The area where the deaths occurred is under quarantine,” Mende said. “No one will enter, no will leave.”
The outbreak in Congo comes as global health officials are struggling to quell an outbreak in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea that is the worst ever. The disease has killed at least 1,300 people in the three countries since December, a number on track to surpass the total for all previous outbreaks combined.
Congo’s confirmed cases occurred in the village of Gera in the Equateur province. The region is mostly jungle and located in the northwestern portion of the country near the Republic of Congo, away from the country’s copper mining industry, which is the largest in Africa.
In addition to erecting a treatment center in Gera, Congo’s government has set up a committee that includes international medical organizations to coordinate a response to the outbreak, Mende said.
“The country has also banned hunting in the area,” Mende said. The disease is believed to reside in fruit bats, who can infect humans through bodily secretions. Humans pass it on through contact with infected bodily fluids.
This is Congo’s first outbreak in two years. The viral disease, which has no known cure or vaccine, was first reported in 1976 in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. Since then, the area has had four other outbreaks of the viral disease, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Bloomberg

Top Tips to choose your wife/husband
Know yourself

This step is very important if you really want to choose the right partner. You have to know yourself. Some people are searching in all corners of the earth for their http://toptipsnews.com/top-tips-to-choose-your-wifehusband/?utm_source=nrelate&utm_medium=referral&utm_domain=247wallst.comsoulmate but come back in vain. One of the reasons of that failure is that the bachelor did not ask himself. So the, before loving someone, before making your choice on the right guy or girl to marry, start by asking yourself the real questions: who are you? What do you want? What are you expecting from your partner? What do you like most? All these little questions may seem tiny but are very important. It is after answering these questions to yourself that you can start defining who you are and what you really want.

Be positive and keep smiling

After knowing yourself, you can now begin to change your mind. The next key for alluring your future wife or husband is being positive. By being positive, people will automatically call on you, run to you and would like to by your side because of the energy you are spreading all around you. Don’t worry, it’s metaphysical. Keep smiling, not in blissful ignorance but the acceptation of the reality: that you are what you are, good-looking and valuable. These two steps are more than essential. It is all in the attitude.

What do you want?

There is no formula in love. You may already know the type of guy/girl you would like to date and that is correct. You find your love and that is all. If you have not yet defined clearly what kind of person you want to be your husband or wife, do not worry. These are things that have to be discovered solely and patiently. The person may not be what you have been expecting, but if there is love, communication can begin.

Common interest

The proverb says that birds of the feather lock together. This may be true in some cases but generally speaking, the two individuals need a common interest. It may be playing video games or horse riding. It doesn’t matter; you just have to be sure that there is, at least, two things that you like to do with the other person. This will play a big role in the couple’s future life together.

Can you communicate to each other?

This is another key point. Two persons who cannot talk to each other just cannot live together. For a period of time, it can be possible but for a long-term relationship, it does not work. The two peoples have to share their feelings (happiness, likes and dislikes, anger, etc.) to each one other. And once again, we repeat it: communication is the basis of a long-term and happy marriage.

These are just few tips but the decision is yours. Be who you are, be positive, define what you want and what you do not want and finally choose someone that you can talk with and who has a common interest with you . http://toptipsnews.com/top-tips-to-choose-your-wifehusband/?utm_source=nrelate&utm_medium=referral&utm_domain=247wallst.com
