sukkot:Idiot...you are not a human being. You have no heart,no feelings. You are indirectly trying to introduce reincarnation. You are a christian and christians dont believe in reincarnation....Go and ask a Bible scholar or man of God....they'll tell you that reincarnation is not valid in christian teaching.....People die once...they dont come back. I'm an atheist but i used to be a christian and i know they dont believe in reincarnation. How can an atheist like me teach you common sense. You are a christian and you're supposed to be better than the common atheist. Honestly you are a disgrace to your religion. You dont deserve to carry that bible. Go to London and talk about Bradley Lowrey....tell them that Bradley deserved to die....tell them that Bradley is guilty. The british people would be tempted to use jungle justice on you. Bradley is innocent. He is a born again christian. His parents are hardcore christians. He did not deserve to die of cancer. Shame on you. You belong in the African traditional religion not christiandom. |
sukkot:You must be a psychopath....how can you say that Bradley is not innocent? What wrong could he have done to justify dying by cancer? Stop defending your God Stop lying to yourself stop saying that only guilty people suffer. Innocent people have died terrible deaths. Innocent people have suffered in pain which is not self-inflicted! Innocent people have been killed and tortured but God allowed it. You are trying to say that Bradley died because he is guilty....guilty of what? Is Bradley a sinner? Does he deserve to die? You sound like a psychopath....a sadist, one who finds excuses to justify pain and suffering. What about Job's family....they were guilty abi? Guilty of what? Show me a bible verse that said Job's family is guilty of sin. Stop spewing lies and bullshit....you sound live the devil. My little brother died at the age of 2....My parents did everything to save him but they couldn't. Are you saying that my baby brother is guilty and deserved to die? I wish i could punch you in the face, you deserve a beating. Two faced hypocrite....are you better than Bradley Lowrey or my late baby brother? |
sukkot:God does not destroy innocent people but he gives Satan permission to destroy them.Go and read the story of job....satan had to seek God's permission before destroying jobs family.God knows about the suffering of innocent people but he will fold his arms and watch them die.Because that iswhat he wants.God had no regard for human feeling, all he wants is to test our faith in him by causing pain and misery to us. He did it to Job and recently to Bradley Lowrey. Bradley had cancer,he was an innocent 9 year old kid.he suffered from cancer, his poor parents cried cuz Bradley was in pain.God could have healed him.All he had to was stretch out a hand and take Bradley cancer away but he didnt. He sat on his heavenly throne and watched the poor kid die If an earthly master kills your loved one just to test your faith, how will you feel?...how will you react? But it's perfectly okay for God to allow such cruelty. Because everything is for a purpose and God works in mysterious ways. Bullshit. I have good reason to believe that God is an egocentric,glory-thirsty,psychopath who hurts innocent people to fullfil his wish. |

lfleak:God did not give man the knoledge of science....Satan did. God's plan for man was for them to stay in Garden of Eden, wandering around completely naked. They only had access to tree of life. God told them not to eat the fruit from the tree of knoledge but Satan convinced Eve to go against God's plan and eat the ultimate fruit. The fruit of Knoledge and of good and evil. It sounds awkward but if Eve hadn't eat that fruit,we humans would still be in Eden completely naked with no knoledge of science and tech. God allowed man to use that knoledge but dont forget it was Satan than convinced Eve to eat that fruit. So based on Logic....Satan is the reason why we have science and technology. |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT "She is beautiful just like you" Alhaji Abubakar said. "Yes she is?" Aisha replied. "You will do Nneoma a very big favour if you come home." Obinna said. "I'm sorry but i have made myself clear.I will definitely come back home but not now,i have to sort out myself first." Alhaji Abubakar heaved a sigh and shook his head in dissapointment. "By this time next year,Nneoma will celebrate her first birthday. We will throw a nice party for her but all we ever wanted was for her mother to be by her side." "Stop it father, you're making this difficult for me.This is not the time for me to go back to Kano." Obinna cut in. "But it is definitely the time for you to come back to your daughter.Aisha please take a look at your daughter and consider your next move.Nneoma needs you,she needs her mother." "I know but now is not the time..." "Aisha during our time together, you once told me about your mother. She was an Igbo woman and she died in the 1966 Kano massacre. You were still a baby when she died. You grew up with no mother figure in your life and i know it must be very hard for you. That is why you need to think again. Are you going to sit back and allow your daughter grow up without her mother?" Obinna said. "I cant do that.My daughter needs me but you need to understand that she needs a strong and reliable mother, not one who is haunted by memories of the past and taunted with emotional trauma. My daughter needs a better me.I'm not good enough for her yet." Obinna sighed in dissapointment. There was no need convincing Aisha. Her mind was made up.He looked at her and wiped the tears flowing down her cheeks. "I guess this is goodbye?" he asked. "Obinna you cant talk like that,it's not like i'm not going to see you again." Aisha replied. Alhaji Abubakar walked closer to Aisha and placed his hands on her shoulder. "Then promise me,Aisha, promise me that you will return.I dont know when you are going to come back but i need you to make me this promise." Aisha placed her hand on his cheek. "I promise you,i will return." she said. Obinna came closer and the trio wrapped their arms around each other in a warm and heart melting embrace. Aisha kissed her baby on the forehead and smiled. "I will come back for you Nneoma,i promise" she said. She handed the baby over to Obinna. "You are going to take good care of her." she said. "Of course" Obinna replied. Alhaji Abubakar approached Detective Tunde. The two men shook hands. "You did a nice job detective.I'm really grateful.I know this whole thing must be stressful for you and i know i'm asking too much..." "Just get to the point" Detective Tunde said. "I need you to watch over my daughter." "I'll do my best." They shook hands again. Aisha embraced Obinna again and kissed him this time. "I know that we have been through a lot but i just want you to know that;deep down....in the bottom of my heart,i still love you." "I love you too." Obinna replied. Aisha,Bina and Detective Tunde watched as Alhaji and Obinna entered their car and zoomed off. "Goodbye,i'll see you again,i promise." Aisha shouted as she waved her hand. She continued waving until they were out of sight. ------------------------------------------ Back in Detective Tunde's car,no one uttered a word. The car was enveloped by an awkward silence as Tunde drove down the streets of Ajegunle. Everybody was lost in the sea of thoughts. Tunde was thinking about how he was going to watch over Aisha. He had just accepted one hell of a job. Bina was beside herself still trying to figure out why Aisha turned her back on her family. It seemed absurd and downright crazy. Aisha felt like a stranger to her.She had suddenly realized she didn't know her very well like she had always thought. Meanwhile Aisha was secluded in her own shell, thinking about her ageing father, her hearthrob Obinna and her baby Nneoma. She had admitted to herself that she couldn't tell exactly when she was going to see them again. Their journey on the road could have been complete. But suddenly a big truck hit their car. The collision was so strong that their car somersaulted a few times. Aisha heart skipped a beat during the somersault.Their car lay upside down afterwards. She opened her eyes and looked around. The smell of petrol leaving from the car filled her nostrils and alerted her.The car would burst into flames very soon. She unbuckled her seat belt and crawled out.She tried crying for help but her voice was weak. She managed to stand up but her legs wobbled and she staggered like a drunk. The truck that hit their car had stopped. The doors opened and some men came out.Aisha couldn't make out their faces, her vision was blurry and she felt dizzy. One of the men went to the crashed car and pulled out Bina. "We found her,we found the girl!" one the men exclaimed. "Hurry up boys, there's a pound of flesh for the taking!" |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN An awkward silence hung in the air.Their heartbeats could be heard in the interlude.Suprise was written all over their faces. Aisha was dumbfounded, her heart was racing. She tried to speak but she couldn't. Detective Tunde heaved a sigh and stood with hands akinbo. Bina couldn't say a word. The tension in the air compounded her bewilderment. Obinna was suprised and happy at the same time.He never thought he would see Aisha again and now there she was, standing in front of him.She had lost weight and the lovely braids she once wore had been removed for a low cut.She looked poor and ordinary. But the beauty was still there. Her face radiated like the morning sun and her skin glowed with flawlessness. Alhaji Abubakar was relieved. It has been 11 months since he last saw his only daughter. The joy he felt was immeasurable and insurmountable. He walked closer to his daughter and embraced her. It was a sight to behold, father and daughter wrapped in a loving and heart melting embrace. Alhaji was touched, tears streamed down his cheeks. "I never thought i'll see you again. You shouldn't have left." he said. "I missed you too." Aisha replied with tears in her eyes. "When you left,i was totally broken.I slumped into melancholy and insomnia took over.I couldn't sleep,i was so worried and so...." Aisha cut him short. "It's alright.Everything is going to be alright." Aisha turned her gaze to Obinna. The boy she loved was no longer a boy.He looked fresh and handsome as ever.He walked closer to Aisha and hugged her. "It's good to see you again Aisha" he said. "It's good to see you too" Aisha replied. "Your father and i have been torn and broken without you.We thought we would never see you again.Your father was the most hit by your absence." "What happened?" Obina paused for a moment and looked at Alhaji Abubakar. The man smiled and nodded. "It was not easy for your father. He was very melancholic. He stopped going to work.He would spend his days at the bar, drinking. He became hypertensive and emotionally unstable. When it became worse.I had to take him to the hospital. His blood pressure was dangerously high but i never gave up on him.I stood by him through thick and thin and together we weathered the storm. We started searching for you.We spent so much money, making hundreds of missing-person- posters. The police worked tirelessly and finally we got goodnews. The Nigerian Police branch in Lagos contacted us and now here we are. Everything is back to normal. My father got rid of his addiction to alcohol and my life is moving forward like it should be.You can come back to Kano and start over,be with your daughter...." Fresh tears streamed from Aisha's eyes.It all looked like everything was going to end well until she dropped the bombshell. "Obinna,i miss you so much but i cant go back to Kano." Alhaji and Obinna were flabbergasted. "You cant come back to Kano?...Why? Aisha you have to rethink.Your daughter needs you.Nneoma needs her mother." "I miss my daughter and i want to be with her.I want to give her the motherly care she deserves but..." "But what?" Obinna asked. "So much has happened. My life has been messed up..." Alhaji Abubakar interrupted her. "Your life is not only thing that was messed up.My life was messed up too.If not for Obinna,i couldn't have ended up worse. But i was able to pick up the peices and i pulled through. The fall of a man is not the end of the world. As long there's life, there's hope." "I understand what you mean but i cant go back to Kano.Sometimes when things get broken,it cant be fixed.Even it gets fixed, the cracks would still be there." Alhaji shook his head in dissapointment and sighed. "I think i understand why you dont want to come back.Kano is not the problem,we are." he said. "Yes you're right.I cant be around you and Obinna because you both are a constant reminder of my mistakes.Anytime i see you,i remember the trauma, the pain and the suffering i passed through. This is something i have to deal with before i return." Aisha said. "Come on Aisha.I know you passed through a lot,we all did.But you have to come back to Kano.We will help you deal with with your emotional trauma." "Look father,it's not that easy. The pain has healed but scar remains.I'm trying to take my mind off it and staying away is the best thing for me." "I have something that might change your mind" Obinna said. "What is that?" Aisha asked. Obinna did not reply. He walked to car and opened the door to the back seat.He came out moments later with a baby in his arms. "If you are going to leave us,maybe you should see your baby first." Obinna said. Aisha was dumbfounded.Tears streamed down her cheeks as Obinna handed the baby over to her. She held the baby in her arms and tickled her infant cheeks. "My beautiful baby,my beautiful Nneoma.I'm sorry for not being there for you." |

1. IAN McCORMACK While diving for lobster one day on the island of Mauritius, Ian McCormack was stung on the arm by a box jellyfish. He says that, by the time the ambulance arrived, he already felt completely paralyzed and necrosis had begun to set in. As he lay dying, Ian saw a vision of his mother praying for him, and after he made it to the hospital, he was clinically dead for a period of 15–20 minutes. That’s when he found himself in a very dark place and began to hear people screaming. “From the darkness I began to hear men’s voices screaming at me telling me to ‘shut up’—that I ‘deserved to be there’—-that I was ‘in Hell.’ I couldn’t believe it, but as I stood there a radiant beam of light shone through the darkness and immediately began to lift me upward. I found myself being translated up into an incredibly brilliant beam of pure white light—it seemed to be emanating from a circular opening far above me (I felt like a speck of dust being drawn up into a beam of sunlight).” As he walked toward the light, Ian says he could feel it giving off a “living emotion,” and that God then spoke to him. McCormack hasn’t written a book but has shared his story with several news outlets and talk shows.

2. CRYSTAL MCVEA Following a simple medical procedure for pancreatitis in 2009, Crystal McVea of Oklahoma went into full respiratory arrest on the operating table. When that happened, she says she experienced a trip to heaven that renewed her faith in God, whom she met in person. She described him as “an immense brightness,” one that she could “feel, taste, touch, hear, and smell,” and recalled having 500 senses while in heaven, as opposed to the traditional human five. “I had angels, I had God, and I fell to my knees in front of him,” she said, adding that she’d always been a doubter prior to the experience. When she was asked twice by God if she’d like to return to Earth, she chose to stay both times. But despite her insistence, God sent her back—though not before relieving her of her guilt and shame. McVea released a book about her experience called Waking Up In Heavenin April 2013.

3. DON PIPER Following a pastor’s conference in January 1989, Don Piper was driving over a bridge when a Texas Department of Corrections tractor-trailer truck crossed the center line and ran into him head-on. He said he was “instantly transported to Heaven,” where he found himself surrounded by dead relatives and friends, and a large pearl gate. “The gate of heaven was a magnificent edifice, the one that I saw. It looked no less like a giant gate that had been sculpted from mother-of-pearl,” he said. “Behind that portal was such a light that I don’t conceive of how you could see it in an earthly body. It could only be envisioned in a heavenly body because it was too bright.” As he lay there crushed in his vehicle on the bridge, a pastor came by, who prayed over him. The EMS staff had told him that Don was deceased. After the pastor prayed, he instantly found himself back in his vehicle, staring up at a tarp that had been draped over him. At the hospital, it was revealed that, although he suffered no major head trauma, nearly every bone in his body had been broken or shattered. Don wrote a book called 90 Minutes In Heaven after his recovery.

4. BILL WIESE In his book 23 Minutes In Hell, author Bill Wiese tells the story of laying in bed at 3:00 AM and being suddenly thrown into the depths of hell, where he was tormented by demons. He said he was placed in a small cell with vicious “beasts” who looked like reptiles. He recalls understanding that they had been assigned to torment him, which they did, throwing him against the walls and piercing his flesh with their claws. The pain became so bad that he wished for death but was not obliged. He said that he heard the cries of millions, who were either burning in hell, or being tortured as he was. When he awoke, his wife noted that the clock read 3:23, so his book is titled 23 Minutes In Hell.

5. BETTY EADIE In November 1973, Betty Eadie underwent a partial hysterectomy, after which she says she floated out of her body and passed through a tunnel to heaven. She said she was guided by three hooded, monk-like figures who claimed to have always been her guardian angels and informed her that she had died prematurely. In an excerpt from her book,Embraced By The Light, she recalls: “I saw a pinpoint of light in the distance. The black mass around me began to take on more of the shape of a tunnel, and I felt myself traveling through it at an even greater speed, rushing toward the light. I was instinctively attracted to it, although again, I felt that others might not be. As I approached it, I noticed the figure of a man standing in it, with the light radiating all around him. There was no questioning who he was, I knew that he was my savior, and friend, and God. He was Jesus Christ, who had always loved me, even when I thought he hated me.” Following its publication in September 1994, her book became a No. 1 best seller and remains in print today.

6. COLTON BURPO Colton Burpo wasn’t quite four years old when his appendix burst, landing him in a hospital for emergency surgery. And when he awoke two hours later, he had an amazing story to tell. He said he had been to heaven, where he met Jesus, John The Baptist, God, and even family members who had passed away previously—including a baby sister that his mother had lost due to a miscarriage. Neither of his parents had ever mentioned the miscarriage to him. He also met an old man he called “Pop,” whom he had seen as a young man. Later, he was able to identify Pop in a family photograph as the man he had seen in heaven. It was his paternal grandfather. And while the surgery was taking place, Colton told his father that he had seen him in another room, where he had gone to pray. His father, Todd Burpo, said, “We knew he wasn’t making it up, because he was able to tell us what we were doing in another part of the hospital. Not even Sonja had seen me in that little room, having my meltdown with God.” Todd wrote a book calledHeaven Is For Realthat recounts the entire story of his son’s incredible experience in detail. Colton Burpo now travels the country with his parents, sharing his story with others.

7. BEN BREEDLOVE When 18-year-old Ben Breed love of Austin, Texasbegan posting a series of videos on YouTube telling the world about his rare heart condition, they instantly went viral, attracting millions of viewers. In one of them, he tells the story of being wheeled down a dark hall by nurses to the surgery room, and seeing a bright, peaceful light near the ceiling. He was four at the time it happened. Through a series of index cards in the video, he wrote: “There were no lights on in this hall. I couldn’t take my eyes off it, and I couldn’t help but smile. I had no worries at all, like nothing else in the world mattered.” He talks of different times when he “cheated death,” including an incident where he fainted in the hallway at school. “While I was still unconscious, I was in this white room; no walls, it just went on and on. There was no sound, but that same peaceful feeling I had when I was four. I was wearing a really nice suit, and so was my favorite rapper, Kid Cudi. I then looked at myself in the mirror—I was proud of myself, of my entire life, everything I have done. It was the best feeling. I didn’t want to leave that place. I wish I never woke up.” Ben’s videos attracted the attention of rapper Kid Cudi, who apparently “broke down” after viewing them. He responded: “I broke down, I am to tears [sic] because I hate how life is so unfair. This has really touched my heart in a way I can’t describe, this is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much.” On Christmas Day 2011, one week after posting the videos, Ben Breedlove suffered a heart attack and died. A family friend stated, “There are times that [the family is] overwhelmed by the pain and the loss of Ben, but then it’s replaced with knowing that he was at peace with what was going to happen.” The final index cards in Ben’s last video stated, “Do you believe in angels or God? I do.” |
8. DR MARY NEAL During a kayaking trip in 1999, Dr. Mary Neal became pinned under the water when her kayak capsized, making it impossible for her to breathe for anywhere between 15 and 25 minutes. That’s when she says she experienced a near-death experience that brought her into the presence of God, Jesus, and angels. During the experience, God told her that her family would be facing an upcoming tragedy and would need her to help them through. Specifically, her nine-year-old son Willie was going to die—but she wasn’t told when, where, or how. Ten years later, at age 19, Willie was killed in a car accident in Maine by a driver who was on his cell phone. Mary is convinced Jesus helped her under the water, making it possible for rescue workers to revive her following the kayaking accident. She awoke with two broken legs and lung complications, and spent a month in the hospital, followed by six weeks in a wheelchair. She wrote a book called,To Heaven And Back, which was published in May 2012.

9. HOWARD STORM Once a self-described “double atheist” and “know-it all college professor,” Howard Storm was leading a three-week European art tour with his students when he retired to his hotel room in France on the last day of the trip. Without warning, he suddenly screamed and dropped to the floor, prompting his wife to call for help. At the hospital, the news was grim: Howard had a perforated stomach that required surgery, and if he didn’t get it soon, he would die. The wait for a doctor to arrive at the hospital was lengthy—so much so, that Howard turned to his wife at one point and said his final farewell to her, insisting that he was moments from death. That’s when he recalled finding himself standing next to his own body (which was still on the hospital bed) and feeling more alive than ever, with no more stomach pain. Soon after, he heard unfamiliar voices calling to him. “Come with us,” they said. “Hurry up, let’s go. We’ve been waiting for you.” After calling out to his wife and getting no response, he began to follow the voices, which led him out of the room and down a long, dark hallway. He followed them for so long, and became so increasingly terrified, that he told the voices he wasn’t going any further. Then they attacked him. “We had a big fight and the fight turned into them annihilating me, which they did slowly and with much relish,” he says. “Mostly they were biting and tearing at me. This went on for a long time. They did other things to humiliate and violate me which I don’t talk about.” Collapsed on the ground, Howard began reciting The Lord’s Prayer, after hearing a soft voice tell him to “Pray to God.” After saying a few other other prayers, he said that Jesus personally saved him from the demons, and sent him back to Earth, telling him to live his life differently. Storm’s book,My Descent Into Death, was published in 2000

10. VERONIKA BARTHELSAYS Veronika Barthelsays that, after being struck by lightning while driving her car one day in 1981, she was instantly transported into hell, where she found demons escorting her into a big waiting room. “The creatures that I saw there were more terrifying than anything I even saw in a horror movie. Today I know that they were demons. As soldiers they where marching past me, and in the middle of them were people that were screaming with pain. It was very difficult to breathe down there, because of the terrible smell of this place. I saw a lake, which looked like the inner part of a volcano, where people were cursing because of great pain.” She says that she saw people being thrown into caves, which were guarded by demons, who threw spears at them as they screamed. She also recalled snakes being present all over the ground, which were there to frighten and intimidate the people in hell. After her experience, Veronika found herself transported back into her car, where for a moment, she saw her own burning hands gripping the steering wheel.

A feeling of weightlessness. A bright light at the end of a warm tunnel. The ability to see your own body below you, and friends or loved ones—who passed away years ago—now surrounding you in absolute peace. These are just a few of the things described by people who have had a near-death experience. And not all of them are as positive. Some recount a visit to hell, where they were overcome with fear and hopelessness, and even tortured by demons. While many in the scientific community are skeptical of these accounts, others believe they offer the most definitive proof of life after death we might ever encounter. And though the debate continues, one thing is for certain: These people insist what they went through was life-altering. But by all means, feel free to judge for yourself. |
![]() The story is a little bit far from over.We still have 20 chapters to go. I have great plans for Aisha and Bina.Their greatest challenge has just begun and Bina's adventure with randy men kinda triggered it. Fair warning though. The next 20 chapters is gonna touch the heart. I'm gonna lay bare the upcoming INJUSTICE. |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX "Bina stop!" Detective tunde cried and held her hand. Bina suddenly came back to her senses. The knife dropped from her hand. She looked at the lifeless body of Lawal.Blood was splattered on the spot where his body lay.Bina stared at her hands,it was drenched in blood. The scene was gory like a horror movie. Detective Tunde shook her from her sea of thoughts. "Look at me Bina, look at me" he said. Bina gazed at him and heaved a sigh of relief. She hugged him as tears streamed down her cheeks. "Oh my God!...i thought i was going to die..." Tunde cut her short. "It's alright Bina. It's over now,it's over" he whispered. Tunde fumbled in his pocket and fished out a handkerchief. He wiped the tears streaming down Bina's cheeks. An ambulance arrived and the three dead bodies were wrapped in a body bag. It wasn't long before Aisha came. She was so happy to see Bina. "I thought something bad has happened to you.I hope they didn't hurt you severely. Are you alright?" Aisha asked. "I'm alright." Bina replied. Poor Bina. She was thoroughly shaken by the incident. She barely smiled. She asked for for a bowl of water to wash her blood soaked hands. When the water was brought to her,she spent almost 30 thirty minutes scrubbing her hands. She kept her face down and she sat in a corner lost in the sea of thoughts. Aisha read the woebegone expression on her face and queried Detective Tunde. "You saved her life but she doesn't look happy. What is her problem?" she asked. "Aisha your friend just killed someone for the first time in her life." "It was self defence" Aisha argued. "I know it's self defence but taking a life for the first time is no child's play. It's going to take a while before Bina comes around.I think she needs counselling." Tunde replied. A call came in on his landline phone. "Excuse me for a moment.I have to answer this call." Aisha pitied Bina. She approached her and wrapped her arms around her. "It's okay Bina.Everything is going to be okay." Bina started sobbing. "I thought i was going to die.I was afraid. For the first time in my life i stood face with face with Death" "But you survived and that is all that matters. You need to take your mind off your predicament." "He nearly raped me.I was so scared." "It's allright Bina.Everything is going to be allright." Detective Tunde came back after answering his call.He gazed at Aisha and Bina. "Can i drive you girls home?" he asked. "Ofcourse" Aisha replied. They got into his car and they set off.Tunde didn't utter a single word.He had a lot on his mind. His assignment was coming to an end and he didn't want to mess it up. He deliberately drove past Aisha's home. "What are you doing? Aisha asked. "Driving" he replied. "You just drove past the house.Where are you taking us?" "I'm taking you to see someone." Tunde replied. "Who?" Aisha asked. "Dont worry Aisha,we're almost there." "I dont understand.Where exactly are we going." "Aisha calm down." "How do you expect me to calm down. You're creeping me out." Tunde ignored her and continued driving. He navigated his car into a large field. He parked and killed the engine. The field was empty and Aisha got more confused. 'Why would Tunde bring her here?' she thought as she alighted from the car. Moments later, another car pulled up in front of theirs. Aisha was bewildered. "Aisha what is going on?" Bina asked. "I dont know." Aisha replied. The door of the strange car swung open and the driver came out.He wore a police uniform.Aisha thought he must be Tunde's friend. The driver walked to passenger's side at the back seat and opened the door. Two men slowly came out.One was younger and the other was old. Aisha was flabbergasted. Her legs wobbled and she nearly fainted. "Oh my God!" she exclaimed. The passengers of the car approached Aisha and stopped abruptly. The older one wore an Agbada and his shoes shone. The happiness on his face knew no bounds. The younger one was equally happy. The old man smiled. Detective Tunde heaved a sigh of relief. "This is it Aisha. My assignment is complete." "Aisha who is this?" Bina asked. Aisha wanted to speak but imaginary lump in her throat prevented her.Everything felt like dream to her.She wasn't sure whether to believe it or not. "Aisha talk to me.Who are these men?" Bina asked. "That......is....my.....father." "Your father!" Bina exclaimed."What about the young man?" "That....is Obinna. My first love." Obinna was so happy. He was dumbfounded. He never thought he would see Aisha again. Alhaji Abubakar hugged Aisha and laughed with joy. "Aisha my daughter. It's good to see you again." |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE Bina opened her eyes, she found herself lying on the floor in a small room. She was tired and hungry. She looked around her and tried to recollect what happened to her. Her memories started coming together and she remembered going home with Aisha,a car pulling up and two men abducting her. She was afraid. The room was cold and poorly lit.Bina stood up and looked around her.The room was completely empty. She sighted a door, approached it and tried to open it but it was locked. Her fears increased and she was desperate to get out.She shook the door with all her strength but her effort was futile. She gave up hope. Bina sat at a corner and thought about her predicament. If she had listened to Aisha and stayed away from randy men,she wouldn't have been in this situation. The door swung open and a man walked in.Bina recognized him. "Lawal, why did you do this?...why did you abduct me?" she asked. Lawal walked closer to Bina, his bloodshot eyes were terrifying. He held a stick of ciggarate in his hand.A smirk played on his face.Bina was afraid. She couldn't believe that she had been moving about with a dangerous man. This was the same man that gave her money everyday and showered her with gifts. But now as she looked at him,all she saw was the devil in human form. There was no escape. She had to beg for mercy. "Lawal, please let me go" Bina pleaded. Lawal glared at Bina and burst out laughing. It was obvious he was under the influence of hard drugs. "I loved you Bina.I took care of you, gave you money, bought gifts for you and how did you return the favour?.....You suddenly decided to end our relationship. You walked out on me for no good reason" Lawal growled. "I was right to walk out on you.You never loved me,you're just a randy old man who likes young girls." Bina replied. Lawal was flabbergasted. He fumed with rage and his breathing was uneven. He landed a resounding slap on Bina's face. Bina wanted to cry but the anger, she felt overwrote the tears. "I spent so much money on you and you betrayed me.Too bad your judgement day has arrived. If you want to get out alive, you will refund every last penny i spent on you." Lawal bellowed. "I owe you nothing" Bina retorted."Do you hear me?...I owe you nothing. You can go ahead and kill me.I have nothing to loose." Lawal's was boiling with anger. He left the room and came back with two fierce looking men. They were armed with cutlasses. "I will teach you a lesson you'll never forget" Lawal said as he slowly unbottoned his shirt. "I treated you like a friend but you gave me nothing in return, not even a taste of your overrated teenage cunt.I will Bleep you so hard until you beg for mercy and then i will kill you slowly." Lawal unbuckled his belt and pulled down his trouser. His manhood stood firmly like an iroko tree. The size alone was enough to send shivers down the spine of any girl. Bina tried to escape but Lawal's thugs held her firmly. Lawal quickly unbottoned Bina's shirt. He removed her bra and marvelled at the sight of her succulent breast. "Let me go Lawal, let me go!" Bina screamed but Lawal didn't give a hoot about her tantrum. He removed her skirt and tore her her pant.He sighted her kitten and laughed like he had won a medal. He licked his lips and grinned mischievously. He dug his head on her crotch and licked her kitten like ice cream. "Lawal please dont rape me,i beg you in the name of God." Lawal chuckled. "There is no God.Even there is,he's not in this room." Lawal was about to penetrate Bina's honeypot with his 12 inch joystick but he stopped abruptly when he heard the sound of a gun. Suddenly the door gave way. Detective Tunde and his seasoned cops barged in unannounced and pointed their guns at Lawal and his crew. The Hot vagabond scrambled to his feet.He was flabbergasted and he stared at the cops with his mouth agape. Lawal's thugs attempted to pull out their pistols but the cops quickly opened fire and moments later, they lay lifeless on the floor. "The game is up mister man, your 12 inch monster ain't getting anywhere close to that girl. Now put your hands up where i can see them." Tunde bellowed. Lawal was a cunning man.He knew he would go down but he was determined to take Bina along with him. He acted fast and grabbed the poor girl.He aimed his gun at her head. "Take one step closer and i'll blow her head off!" he retorted. Detective Tunde and his cops stopped abruptly.Lawal had nothing to loose,Tunde took his words seriously. Suddenly Bina charged at Lawal. He was taken by suprise and did not fire the gun on time.Bina knocked it off his hand as they stumbled and fell. She quickly grabbed a knife lying on the floor and started stabbing the riffraff with every ounce of anger in her body. She continued stabbing him,his blood was oozing out profusely and it stained her body. She continued stabbing until Tunde stopped her. |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR Aisha watched as the car zoomed off with Bina in the trunk. One of the men glared at Aisha from the window. "Your friend Bina messed with the wrong man,she messed with the wrong man and she is going to pay for it" he bellowed at Aisha. Aisha recognized the man.It was the one at the restraunt.Bina had ended their relationship, the man was hurt and hell bent on getting his pound of flesh.Bina was in big trouble. Aisha stood up from the ground, her legs wobbled. She was weak. She felt a warm sensation on her head. She touched the affected area and withdrew her hand only to find blood on her fingertips. She was bleeding. The men must have given her a very powerful punch. She staggered and fell on the ground. Her eyes closed. ------------------------------------------ When she woke up,she found herself in the hospital.A nurse was standing near her bed.Aisha groaned in pain. She touched her head.It was wrapped in bandage. "You are finally awake" the nurse whispered. Aisha tried to get up but the nurse held her back. "You need to relax, you have a concussion." "A concussion?" Aisha asked. "Yes,we cant discharge you until we're sure you are okay." the nurse replied. "My friend Bina, she was abducted.I need to find her,i need to...." The nurse cut her short. "We know what happened. Some eye witnesses reported the incident to the police. They are working on it.But you need to try and remember everything that happened. The police is working on a lead and they need some information from you.I'll call the doctor." Aisha groaned. She was having a severe headache. She closed her eyes and tried to recollect details of the incident. She could still remember the face of man who abducted Bina.He was a regular customer at the restraunt and she could pick out his face anywhere. She blamed herself for Bina's misfortune. She had underrated the enemy. She thought that Bina's breaking up with the despicable fellow would be the end of the matter. She had no idea that the man was very dangerous. She hoped that Bina was still alive. She dared not imagine what her assailants would do to her.She prayed that Almighty Allah would protect Bina and help find her. The door opened,Madam Oby and Detective Tunde entered the room. "Aisha" she said."Oh my God are you alright?" Madam Oby asked. "I'm alright." Aisha replied. "The police told me everything.I cant believe that Bina was abducted." Madam Oby bit her lower lip and shook her head. Detective Tunde walked closer to Aisha and touched her head. "The men that took your friend,do you know them?" he asked. "Yes.One of them is a regular customer at the restraunt." Aisha replied. " A customer at my restraunt?!" Madam Oby asked. "Yes.Bina had an unholy relationship with him. They were very close, the man used to flirt with Bina everyday at the restraunt. I did not approve of their relationship. The man is old enough to be Bina's father.I talked to Bina,i persuaded her to break up with him and she did." Madam Oby mumbled something incoherent and hissed. "And then the man deemed it fit to come back to deal with Bina for breaking up with him. Some men are heartless." she said. "Is there any other thing you can tell us." Detective Tunde asked. "Yes.Bina and i were heading home.We took a short cut so we could get home quicker.A car pulled up and two men came out." "Can you describe the car?" Detective Tunde asked. "Yes.It's a red Bettle. The car looked old and rusty. There was a crack on the back windscreen." "What about the men?" "They wore black. One of them looked younger and the other is middle aged. He's tall, muscular and hairy. He is bearded and the former is clean shaven." "Thank you for that information Aisha." Detective Tunde made to leave but Aisha held his hand. "Please tell me you are going to find Bina" She said. "We will do everything we can to find Bina." Tunde replied. "That is not enough. You need to promise me.Promise you're going find her and bring her home, alive." Detective Tunde heaved a sigh and stood with hands akinbo. "I promise you.We will find your friend and bring her home.Nothing will happen to her." "Good." Aisha replied. Detective scribbled something on a sheet of paper and thanked Aisha. "I'll be back." he said as he left the room. The nurse administered some drugs to Aisha. The headache was gradually disipating. Detective Tunde returned shortly with some goodnews. "I placed a call to the station. They were able to find a match for your descriptions.I think we have a location." he said. "What does that mean?" Aisha asked. "An eye witness spotted a red Bettle parked near an uncompleted building. It matched your description.I'll take a team of officers and we'll check it out." Detective Tunde replied. "Dont worry,we'll rescue Bina." |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE Aisha walked into the compound. She found Bina sitting at the verandah. "Bina,i'm glad i found you" Aisha said but Bina glared at her and hissed. Aisha was bewildered.Talking to Bina could be difficult but she had to do it anyway. Aisha heaved a sigh and stood hands akinbo. She approached Bina at the verandah and sat close to her.Bina was awake, she sat there staring at the beautiful starry sky.She didn't utter a single word.Aisha coughed and cleared her throat. "Look Bina,i'm sorry for judging you.You saw me with a man and you have every right to be upset with me.You think i'm a hypocrite but that is not the case.I actually care about you Bina" Aisha said. "You care about me?" Bina scoffed. "Yes,you are like a sister to me" "Stop it Aisha, just stop it.Let me clarify something.I am not your sister. We are just friends and you cant tell me how to live my life,i dont need a baby sitter." "Bina listen to me.If you keep doing what you are doing you are likely to get hurt. You think you are doing yourself a favour by collecting money from those men you follow but believe me,one day they are going to have their way with you.You will get pregnant and they will dump you in the cold to suffer. You dont want that kind of life Bina,do you?" Aisha asked. "Ofcourse not but why are you telling me this. You seem to speak from expirience." "Yes." "Tell me,why did you leave Kano?" Aisha wiped the tears streaming down her cheeks. "I left because i had to.My life was a mess." "What happened?" "There is this boy i love. His name is Obinna. We fell in love,it was exciting and intriguing.Obinna is my first love.My father was an authoritarian,he tried to force me into marriage but Obinna opened my eyes to see the light. He taught me to see life from a whole new perspective. He loved me very much but...." "What happened?" "We made a mistake and i got pregnant." "You got pregnant?" "Yes.I tried to abort it.I took abortion pills without his consent and the drugs affected me in a bad way.I almost died.My father blamed Obinna. He abducted him and tortured him until he became comatose.I later gave birth to a baby girl but my life was a mess.I had destroyed my reputation and the society stigmatised me.I had to leave Kano.I left my daughter behind, penned a letter and disappeared." "Did Obinna make it out of the coma?" "I dont know.He most likely did." "Aisha i cant believe you turned your back on your own family. You left your daughter.I hope you'll return to them one day." "Yes i will go back but i have to put my life back in order first." "You still love him, dont you?" "Who?" "Obinna." "Yes i still love him and i want to see him again.I have to move on but there is a difference between moving on and letting go.I haven't let go." "Aisha,i'm so sorry.I didn't know you passed through all these things." "That is why you need to be careful. You dont want to ruin your life like i did.You have to cut off the ties you have with those men you've been hanging out with." ------------- The next day at the restraunt.Bina did exactly as Aisha instructed her. Her regular customer came in on his usual time. But Bina ignored him completely. The man waited and waited but he did not get the attention he wanted. When it looked like Bina was never going to give a hoot about him,he became angry. He approached her and tried to talk to her. "Baby girl, you've been ignoring me since i came in.What's your problem." he whispered to Bina. "It is over between us.I dont want to have anything to do with you again. It is over" Bina replied. The man got angry. His countenance changed and he glared at Bina with bloodshot eyes. "You cant do this to me.After all the money i spent on you.You think you can just end the relationship?....it's not over." he retorted. Bina did not talk to him again. She walked away and went about her business in the restraunt. She never loved the man,he was old enough to be her father. The man was flabbergasted and crestfallen. He stormed out of the restraunt banging the door behind him. "You did it,Bina you got rid of him." Aisha said. The two girls joked and laughed as they went home.Bina was finally free. She felt like a load had been lifted off her shoulders. "Dont worry Bina, this is just the begining. Those nasty men wont disturb you again" Aisha told her grinning from ear to ear. "Thank you for everything Aisha.I'm really grateful." Bina replied. They took a shortcut so that they could get home faster but that was not to be. Suddenly a car pulled up in front of them. Two men jumped out.Bina recognized them and made to run but they grabbed her,and put her in the trunk of the car. It happened so fast.Aisha wanted to scream but one of the men rammed his fist into her face. The blow knocked her out and she staggered and fell. She felt dizzy and she watched helplessly as the car drove away. |

DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO Aisha was too worried to even say a word to Tunde. She bit her lower lip and shook her head. Tunde noticed the woebegone expression on her face.He grabbed the oppourtunity and tried to start a conversation. "You look worried, are you okay?" he asked. "I'm okay." she replied. "Dont lie to me.I'm a police detective,i can read people and i can see you're not okay. What is bothering you?" Aisha hissed. She was starting regret taking a ride with Tunde. The detective was hell bent on getting close to her.She glared at him with fiery eyes and dropped the bombshell. "Why do you care?" she asked. "What?" Tunde asked. "Am i the girl in Lagos?...why are you always after me?..why are you interested in driving me home?" Tunde smiled and chuckled. "I'm just trying to be nice" he said. "Must i be the recipient of nice attitude?...we just met yesterday, you barely know me" Aisha retorted. Tunde became silent. He had dealt with situations like this in his early days as a police detective. He knew how to handle it.It was obvious that something was bothering Aisha and he didn't want to play with her emotions. He kept silent to let her calm down. Aisha calmed down and thought about the situation at hand. She was obviously angry at Bina and she was venting her spleen on the wrong person.Tunde might be trying to get close to her but he had nothing to do with Bina's case and therefore, did not deserve an angry reaction from Aisha. "I'm sorry" Aisha apologized. "For what?" Tunde asked. "For everything i said earlier" she replied. "It's okay.I undertand you dont want to talk about whatever it is that is bothering you." "I know,it's just that...." Tunde cut in. "You can bottle up your problem. You need to let it out." he said. Aisha heaved a sigh and gazed at Tunde. "There is this friend of mine.A girl. She has formed a habit of moving about with men.She hangs around with men who are old enough to be her father.I'm worried because these men are dangerous, they are just lusting after her.I'm afraid and i dont want her to get hurt. She is the only friend i have and i want to look out for her and..." Aisha paused and wiped the tears streaming down her cheeks. "I dont want Bina to suffer like i did" she said. Detective Tunde navigated his car and pulled up in front of Aisha's destination. He killed the engine and looked at Aisha.Their gazes locked as Tunde heaved a sigh and searched for the right words to use. "Look Aisha,i understand how you feel.We have met just yesterday but i'm really glad you opened up to me.You see this situation with your friend,i have been there before.I once had a friend who went astray. He was a police officer like me,we graduated together from the Nigerian Police Academy. We served together for a long time.He was my best friend,he was more like a brother to me.But later he went rougue. He started collecting bribe and exploiting innocent civilians. He bacame corrupt and somewhat irredeemable. He continued in his evil way but 8 years ago he met his waterloo." "What happened?" Aisha asked. "It was in the year 1976 after the assasination of Murtala Muhamed. It was revealed that my friend aided the coup plotters just because of money. He was caught and killed. He died a pitiful death, the soldiers tied him up like a goat and shot him.I couldn't stop blaming myself" "Why do you blame yourself?" Aisha asked. "I saw him going astray but i didn't warn him.I thought his case was minor,i didn't know he would aid the coup plotters. If i had warned him or tried to stop him, maybe he would still be alive. But i folded my arms and i watched him get himself killed. Aisha,i know i shouldn't be telling you this story but...erm...i think you should talk to your friend before it's too late." "But she wont listen to me,she is too hot headed" Aisha replied. "Listen Aisha, your friend might be hot headed.Mine was hot headed too but you cannot give up on her.I gave up on my friend when he was going astray and he died.If you give up on your friend and something bad happens to her, trust me,you are going to regret it.So talk to her." Aisha heaved a sigh of relief. "I will talk to her" she said. She opened the door and got out of the car. "Thank you detective." she said and bid him farewell. When Aisha was finally out of sight,Tunde took out his landline phone and contacted his DPO. He moved to safe distacnce as he talked in low tune. "Hello sir....the plan is in motion.I had a lengthy conversation with her today." "That's very good. How did you do it?" the DPO asked. "It was easy. She had a problem with a friend so i gave her some advice and backed it with a fake story" Tunde replied and smiled mischieviously. "Did she believe you?" "She swallowed everything, hook, line and sinker." "You are doing a good work detective.Alhaji Abubakar will come to Lagos very soon for his daughter. We need to make sure she returns to Kano voluntarily." "Yes sir." |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE The next day at the restraunt.Things were moving on normally.Madam Oby had put aside the accident saga and Aisha was able to breathe in fresh air again.Customers were trooping in and business was booming like it should be.Aisha's happiness could have been complete if Bina wasn't so hot-headed.She went about her business like nothing else mattered and she was flirting with a customer, the same man she was flirting with the previous day.The man was a regular customer and when he came in,on his usual time,Bina jumped to her feet and spent most of her free time chatting with him. They smiled, laughed in low tune. Aisha could have overlooked the episode but the man had placed his arm on Bina's laps. The scene infuriated Aisha as she shook her head and bit her lower lip. She reported Bina's misbehaviour to Madam Oby but the woman waved it off.She had a policy of not interfaring with her worker's personal life.As long business moved on fine, every other thing is none of her business. "Aisha you need to let go of personal attachments.I know you like Bina but if you are going to succeed, you need to mind your own business and concentrate on yourself." Madam Oby said. Aisha didn't take her words seriously.Bina was her friend and she wouldn't let her go astray. She understood what unwanted pregnancy could do to a girl's life and Bina's man did not look like he loved her.He was old enough to be her father and he was only lusting after Bina. Aisha was beautiful and numerous men had tried to woo her but she turned them down. Bina was quite the opposite. She liked men both young and old and she was happy to be around them as long as they gave her money. Her character alerted Aisha.Bina was playing with fire and Lagos is filled with dangerous men,she could get hurt if she wasn't careful. But asking Bina to stop moving about with men was like preaching repentance to the devil. She didn't give a damn about Aisha's opinion. Aisha had a hard time reaching out to her.Ever since she warned Bina about men,the girl had been ignoring her.She gave Aisha a silent treatment.Bina only spoke to Aisha when she was spoken to and when she did,the words were often cold and laden with hate. It was getting dark and the restraunt had closed for the day. Aisha and Bina were busy tidying up the restraunt.Bina,as usual did not utter a word to Aisha. Aisha summoned up courage and broke the ice. "Bina why have you been ignoring me?" she asked. Bina didn't reply. Aisha heaved a sigh and stood hands akinbo. "Look Bina,i understand that you're upset with me.But you need to know that i'm still your friend and i will always look out for you no matter what.I need you to reason with me.You cant keep following men like a fly. Some men are very dangerous and they will ruin your life.I need you talk to me Bina, talk to me." Bina turned and glared at Aisha. "What do you want me to say,Aisha?" she asked. "Come on Bina, some of these men you flirt with are old enough to be your father." "Do you think i enjoy flirting with them?" she retorted."I have no choice." "What do you mean?" Aisha asked. "Aisha, stop pretending. You know that this is Lagos and life is not easy for us.I have to feed and pay my rent and i need money to do that.I only follow men because they give me money, that's all. It's not like i'm going to go to bed with them.Never!" Bina spat and hissed. Aisha patted her on the back and tried to calm her down. "I know that Lagos is a difficult place for us and we need to survive but you need to understand that moving around with men is not the way to go." Aisha said. Suddenly Bina pushed her from her side and started bickering with a voice laden with anger. "Anybody can tell me how to live my life but you,Aisha,is a no no. You are nothing but a hypocrite.A two faced bastard!I saw you yesterday with a man in a car." Aisha was flabbergasted and dumbfounded. "A...erm..a car?" she stammered. "Yes" Bina."The man drives a Pegout 504.I saw you with my two naked eyes, you cant lie.You of all people move around with men but here you are, judging me!" Bina grabbed her handbag and stroded out of the restraunt, slamming the door behind her. "Bina wait" Aisha called out to her but Bina ignored her. Aisha was suprised. She didn't know that Bina had seen her with Detective Tunde. She had a lot of explaining to do.If she didn't reach out to Bina,no one else will.Bina was her only friend in Lagos. Aisha finished her work, locked the restraunt and went after Bina. The girl was long gone and Aisha headed to her place of residence. She prayed that the girl would listen to her. She was going to board a danfo bus but then,a Pegoute 504 pulled up in front her. It was Detective Tunde. "Get in" he said."Let me take you home." Aisha had no time to think twice. Her mind was bothered with her concern for Bina. She needed to get to her destination on time. She hopped into the car and they set off. |
Hold on tight folks! There's 20 more chapters to go.If the weather is favourable,i'll drop 12 before next sunday. More updates coming up..... |
DAMAGED BUTTERFLY CHAPTER THIRTY "Please get in,i will drive you home" the man said. "With all due respect respect sir,i have to decline your offer" Aisha replied and made to go but the man blocked her way. "Look,i'm sorry about what happened at the restraunt.I understand it's an accident" he said. "I understand, its no big deal.Everything is forgiven" Aisha replied. "I think i was too harsh on you.I let my anger cloud my judgement and i'm sorry" "You've apologized already but like i said,it's no big deal." The man heaved a sigh and scratched his head. "Let me make it up to you by driving you home." he said. Aisha felt uncomfortable, she wanted to run.The man was very stubborn,he cant seem to take no for an answer. She considered his offer again. Darkness have already crept in and the danfo buses were not operating quickly like she wanted. She wanted to trek home but why trek when there's a free ride up for grab?..It was a nice oppourtunity and it seemed stupid to decline. Besides, what could possibly go wrong? The man doesn't look like someone with ulterior motives. "Fine, you can drive me home" she said. The man beamed a smile and nodded in satisfaction. Aisha was going to open the door to the passenger's side but the man stroded to her side and opened the door for her.He held it open as she slid into car and sat down. Aisha was somewhat suprised. 'He must be a gentleman' she thought. The man entered the car and they set off. "So,where do you live?" he asked Aisha. "Dont worry, keep moving,i'll direct you." They continued the journey. The man didn't utter a word as Aisha gave him directions. The journey was normal until he broke the ice. "So...erm...can i know your name?" he asked. "My name is Aisha Abubakar" Aisha replied. "Okay" the man said and nodded. He waited for Aisha to ask for his name but she maintained an awkward silence. "My name is Olatunde Oluwasegun. You can call me Tunde." he said. Aisha nodded. "Okay,i'll keep that in mind" she said. "I'm a police detective by proffession" Tunde said with a voice laden with pride. "A police detective?...that's nice" Aisha repied. "I'm a regular customer at the restraunt and you are a new worker there. You must be new in Lagos." "Yes,i'm new.How did you know?" she asked. "Like i said before,i'm a police detective. My powers of deduction is on another level." Aisha chuckled and beamed an infectious smile.Tunde was amazed by her beauty. "Do you have any family in Lagos?" he asked. "No,i'm here on my own.I was looking a fresh start" she replied. "Lagos is a good place to start afresh but it's not easy.I hope you are doing fine?" he asked. "Yes,i'm comfortable.I had a hard time getting a decent job but i'm fully settled now" she replied. "I'm happy to hear that." he said. "I see you everyday at the restraunt and i cant help but notice your nice and gentle attitude.Keep it up." Aisha swallowed hard.It was obvious that Tunde had been watching her. "I cant help but imagine why a beautiful girl like you would be working in a local restraunt. You deserve better." he said. Aisha started getting nervous and uncomfortable. 'Is Tunde trying to woo her' she thought. Ever since she started working at the restraunt, numerous male customers had commented on her beauty. She would ignore them immediately. She had no time for men.She still loved Obinna. Tunde noticed her nervousness and changed the topic. He talked about himself and his job but Aisha maintained an awkward silence. Finally they drove into Aisha's neighborhood.Tunde navigated his Toyota 504 into a road that led to the Aisha's place. When he got to his destination,he parked his car and made to come out. Aisha read his next move, she knew he would open the door for her but she opened it herself and got out. "Thank you for the ride" she said. "Okay, take care.I'll see you at the restraunt." Tunde replied. Aisha nodded, she wished she couldn't go back to that restraunt again. She's had more than she could chew. She heaved a sigh of relief when he drove off. ------------ Back in his peogout 504,Tunde's police landline phone rang.He picked it up and answered the caller. "Detective Tunde, what is your status?" a voice came on the landline's speakers. Tunde sighed and cleared his throat. "DPO how are you?" he said. "You can drop the pretence now.Are you alone?" the DPO asked. "Yes" Tunde replied. "What is your status on the girl" "I approached her today. We had a little discussion. She seems satisfied and confortable in Lagos and when i asked her about her family, she waved it off.I dont think she wants to return to Kano." Tunde said. "We are the police and her father,Alhaji Abubakar is hell bent on re-uniting with his daughter. He paid us well and we will do everything we can to make his dream comes true but for now,try to befriend the girl. You must be careful though,if Aisha finds out your true motive, she will disappear.Be careful dectective." "Yes sir." |
ekwuemendinso:Thank you very much.... But i have to admit...chapter one is the most difficult chapter i've ever written. I was still trying to lay the groundwork so that the story would kick off smoothly and that is not an easy task. Also my phone limits me to only 5000 words....so i have to edit and rewrite so that the chapter (chapter one)...would end on a significant point...which is...'Aisha meeting Obinna for the first time'.... That event created a pathway for chapter 2 to continue smoothly. That is why i did not spend more time describing Aisha's siblings....my phone restricts me to only 5000 words...so i cannot dabble on a less significant issue..(Aisha's siblings)....because they are very minor and unimportant characters....if you read the story...you'll realize i never mentioned her siblings again! About the cattle rearing part... It may look like a humble occupation to you and too low an educated northener.....that is not entirely true. Some northeners went to school and later dived into cattle rearing. Cattle rearing is not a job for illiterates only....infact,it is very lucrative.A cattle sells for thousands of naira....it is expensive. And sometimes a northener (educated or not)....works as an apprentice for an established cattle rearer....once they have learned a lot...the master gives them a few cows and they start off their own business. Cattle rearing is a lucrative business and some educated northerners have done it....that is a fact. Dont underrate cattle rearing...it is a popular business in the north. My idea is based on research... Thank you for the encouragement.... |
