My name is femi, I am a management consultant by profession. I have posted several jobs on this forum and I have interviewed people from this forum as well.

I must submit to you all that some people may find it difficult to get jobs using online methods because of their approach. When people tell you to send CVs try and be polite to the other person reading the mail. A lot of Nairalander say things like this when sending CVs:

Find attached
Here it is
Help me, CV attached
and several other phrases.

You sure need to respect the person at the other end and write a short a polite note to accompany your mail. Some people dont even write anything thing, they just forward their Cvs to you. Its really not good. I dump most of such CVs as long as there are better ones.

Likewise, the way some people write CVs can make you run away. I am thinking of organizing a career seminar for free so as to teach young people how to market themselves for jobs. The first point of impression and contact is when you send your CVs and application online and these days most applications are online.

The career seminar will be absolutely free for whoever is interested but I dont know how we will sort out the venue and refreshments. I know people dont place value on things they dont pay for but be wise about this.
