chibwike:Dogs are better than cats. Dogs make better companions than cats. Dogs when you get home show they are happy and want you there. Cats are lone wolves. They don't care weather you are home or not they do their own thing. Dogs also seemed to know when you are depressed while cats just stay away from you all the time. Dogs and cats make good companions for different types of people. Dogs are very social animals. Also, since they must be frequently walked and played with, they make great companions for active people. Cats are not social animals nor do they require a lot of care, which makes them ideal companions for those who are not as active or for those who prefer a low profile pet. If you are a blackberry user you must be familiar with your phone constantly freezing with the traditional black square in the middle of your screen and a rotating arm. But I have devised a simple way to stop this. First of all wipe all your application and re install to get rid of unwanted data. And then reinstall(not compulsary). From your home screen. Hold down the 'alt' key, while doing that press the keys, one by oneL G L G Then a long list should come up named (event log)then click the blackberry button to the left of your trackpad and then go to clear log and restart your phone. This should reduce if not stop the hanging. This dosent delete anything from your phone and has been done by a lot of people with 0% complaining. And it can be done as many times as possible. “But what’s wrong with being perfect?” asked my client. “Nothing,” I replied with a wink. “As long as it doesn’t kill you.” This particular client, like many entrepreneurs, is an A-type, make-it-happen kind of person. She demands a lot because she gives a lot. It is this quality that makes her successful in her chosen line of business, though lately she has been suffering the consequences. She has been working long hours but has not been feeling “the love” as she calls it. Her staff seem to be making mistakes all the time and her temper is short. She is increasingly irritated by her family and feels that she handles the majority of responsibility in parenting. When we explored the subject a little deeper, my client admitted that she often checks things two or three times because she does not trust her staff to get it right. One of her staff members even said to her, “We know you check our work so sometimes we don’t try as hard because we know you’ll fix it.” She realised that she took on the majority of the home responsibilities because she did not trust her husband to do the job as well as she knew she would. She also realised that she felt very guilty when taking time out and used criticism as a tool to motivate herself. No doubt, many of us can re- late. An entrepreneur is a particular type of person: adventurous, driven and energetic, with a view of possibility. The down side is that entrepreneurs are also prone to overworking, taking on too much and perfectionism – the sometimes lethal art of trying to get everything right. Striving to be better is healthy but perfectionism can be deadly in organisations. Most perfectionists tend to: Be highly critical, often looking for what is wrong; Have high, often unrealistic standards; Get depressed by unmet goals; Fear failure; Procrastinate; Value independence over collaboration; and get defensive easily. You might be surprised to see procrastination on the list but the truth is that often, the fear of failing paralyses perfectionists. They do not delegate because they value independence over collaboration, but end up feeling over- whelmed with how much there is to do and yet are unable to make a start for fear of failure. If you recognise yourself in the above, what should you do next? Being a perfectionist is not a bad thing but it can get out of hand. Like most things, awareness is the first step, although sometimes it helps to have a few guidelines. Letting go of in- grained habits can feel a little daunting at first but it is the key to unlocking the magic you felt when you first started your business. The tips below are intended to keep perfectionist tendencies in check and help you perform optimally. The idea is that you are left with enough drive and ambition to forge ahead but also time and energy to enjoy the journey. Don’t sweat the small stuff: We all know the saying but it re- ally is true. If your assistant spills coffee over some documents, take a deep breath and do not let it get to you. Sitting in traffic, late appointments, delayed deals – the truth is that these things are part of life. Keep your focus on what you can control, not what you cannot. Make mistakes: Mistakes provide the greatest opportunities for growth. We learn by making mistakes. When things do go wrong, in- stead of focusing on what, look instead for the reasons why and use ... A muslim friend of mine sent me a mobile application of Quran; while reading Surah Yusuf i came accross an interesting comparison and as a christian i think it is worth sharing. Here I culled an excerpt of the story of Joseph and Potiphar's Wife. According to the Quran (Yusuf 12:20-34) 20. And they sold him for a low price, - for a few Dirhams (i.e. for a few silver coins). And they were of those who regarded him insignificant. 21. And he (the man) from Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay comfortable, may be he will profit us or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Yusuf (Joseph) in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of events. And Allah has full power and control over His Affairs, but most of men know not. 22. And when he [Yusuf (Joseph)] attained his full manhood, We gave him wisdom and knowledge (the Prophethood), thus We reward the Muhsinun. 23. Now the woman in whose house he was putting up sought to seduce him against his will and she bolted the doors well and said,' Now come, I am ready to recieve you.' He said,'(How can it be possible,) I seek refuge with Allah, He alone is my Lord. He has made my stay (with you) honourable. Verily, the wrong doer never flourish. 24. And indeed she did desire him and he would have inclined to her desire, had he not seen the evidence of his Lord. Thus it was, that We might turn away from him evil and illegal sexual intercourse. Surely, he was one of Our chosen, guided slaves. 25. And both of them ran for the door, one trying to outdo the other. And (in the struggle) ... A creative and active group of friends (called Z999) decided to draw people's attention to the very poor condition of Lithuanian roads by creating a photo shoot around potholes in Kaunas. The aim of this was to laugh at the absurdity of this situation and to draw our government's attention to it so that they might take action and repair our roads. Two professional photographers, Arturas Artiusenka and Eurika Balciute, attended this fun photo shoot. Not only this was a great experience for us, many Lithuanian magazines became interested in the project and these pictures as well. None of the photos were made to offend our government; ... My friend who is a highly gifted surgeon once shared a most interesting tale with me. One of his lab technicians was retiring after many years of government service, and invited him to a party at her home in one of the peri-urban areas near the city. He was most amazed when he got there to find that this very ordinary-looking lady lived in a beautiful three bedroomed house whose construction she had supervised. He was even more impressed when he toured her small adjoining farm with greenhouses and several healthy exotic cows. The icing on the cake was meeting her three children, who were all students in prestigious local universities. As my friend considered his considerable education loans and high monthly expenditure, he realised that this lady, who had never earned anything close to his current salary, was far wealthier than he could imagine himself being! It's a paradox that the people working in the most prestigious and well-paid careers tend to be the ones with the highest expenditure and the most debt. This reality is often hidden because they dress better, live in posher neighbourhoods, have more expensive gadgets and drive nicer cars. But the reality is that true financial freedom is not a factor of how big your salary is, but how long you would survive if you lost that salary today. And on that count, highly educated people tend to fare badly! The more educated you are, the more likely you are to suffer from 'paralysis of analysis'. You analyse different opportunities to death, finding all sorts of reasons why they won't work. Meanwhile, your less educated contemporaries who know less about why things should fail often just jump in and make a try of it, and end up successful as a result! Highly educated people also tend to suffer from what has been referred to as 'the curse of the gifted'. They can achieve proficiency at many things, so they end up drowning in ...
