Crocodiles are larger, have V-shaped jaw and some of their teeth can be seen even when the jaw is fully closed.

Alligators are smaller, they have U-shaped jaw and their teeth are not visible when jaws are closed.

Thanks for the educative and interesting threads. I always follow ur threads. There is an argument in one thread currently on,although it isnt ur thread but I want ur opinion. The thread is about crocodiles,alligators and monitors. The OP used google as evidence that alligators are only found in America and china in the whole world. I also confirmed it in google. But in reality,I found it to be a big lie!!! I stay in Benin city. There are lots of alligators in our local markets here which were never imported from America or China. I even went to various markets and took picture evidence. But some were still adamant all because '' google said no alligators in Africa''. Below are some of my pics. Please I want ur opinion.
