I don't know why I'm really bothered by what they always refer to "fair policy". I belive you have used nyel before, please elaborate more on that. Thanks and keep up the good work. wink
Hello nameless. Thanks for the words. I do this for people like you.

Well it's simply a way to control data usage. Everyone is aware Nigerians can do the unthinkable, like downloading 3TB worth of files in a day. Remember the days of unlimited data on BlackBerry? Well companies came to realise, that they were being "cheated" out of profits.
In the U.S, just one company is left, that offers "unlimited" data, which is more or less what Ntel is doing.

What it simply means is that If you have used up to 3Gb of data during peak period (that's the most active period, which is working hours) the speed at which your files download will be reduced. In essence, it will still be fast, not just 4G fast. If you continue doing that over a stretched period, the company reserves the right to cut you off.

Reason:
You can have a situation where some guy is using a router to service a cyber cafe, making the network slower for others, and that also, being a solution for individuals, and not necessarily companies in essence.

I hope that is clear enough.

Sorry I've been away, brethren. Too much to attend to. You can also texts me with your numbers, just in case you want me to send out messages to you, about where you can get data, when it's up. I'll still post them here as well.

You don't u guys pick a state and extend ur signal fully to that state instead of partial coverage and leave and go to another state email got lagos is not fully covered yet
Yes, you are right about Lagos. Note that that is still more of a beta phase. So areas that show they are more dense, wrt that are targeted, so the company can get a feel of the end users opinions. That's why you hear talk of getting to use it for free*.

What happened to some us that don't have 4G phones? What's our fate?
2.Those of us that have 4g phones, we wIll able to connect other operators that haven't launched 4G network?
3.What is your customer care number?
4.will PH customers enjoy the benefits accrued to Lagos State on your Lauch? E.g being the first set of customers or Lagos based has secured all of them
5.What are likely states and cities are you covering
6.what mechanism are you putting to counter your competitors when they offer similar service at cheaper prices?
Hi,
Lots of brilliant questions. Needed to be relaxed to respond, that's why I didn't respond earlier.

1. If you do not have a 4G phone, you won't be able to enjoy the network, unfortunately. Except of cos, you do get a 4G miFi, compatible router, etc. There are actually gonna be some very affordable phones. I know I saw one from Tecno for N25,000.

2. For instance, my phone is 4G LTE. I use etisalat on it. because before 4G, there was 3G, 3.5G, 3.75G, 3.9G, so it works....but doesn't work the other way round, because the technology is inferior refer to q1.

3. customer care number is 400. From the network of cos. email is care@ntel.com.ng

4. If they are among the first one million subscribers, yes-if it's what I do think you are referring to.
000
5. We will cover everywhere, but it will be done in phases, once PH is live. Places like Bayelsa will come in the last batch, barring any wonderful changes. Refer to my earlier posts.

6. (Smiles) First of all, ntel is a co-owner of a satelite- SAT-3. For the other networks, at least for now..... it's just like a retailer going to war with the manufacturer. You just can't compete. We can crash the price as much as we want, but they cannot do that. Ever wondered why all of them are slashing prices all of a sudden? They realise there is a new sheriff in town! Ntel is 4G LTE-A. It's operating on the 900/1800Mhz frequency, one other network, which another network bought is just on a 200+MHz frequency. Unlimited bundles in the U.S go for like $50, and if I'm feeling charitable, that's like N15, 000, and we are starting off at N10,000!!!

One word of advice for you.....get a smart TV if you do not have one. Basic Netflix accounts start from $7.99.... stream your live footie games......have some Netflix and chill, cos even dstv and the other cats are in trouble. Life is good.

As at yesterday, my friend paid #10,000 for the 30day unlimited plan. I also checked ntel's website, and the above offer are only available to those who acquire a Lenovo vibe K5 plus from ntel. So, are you saying that this offer is available to all customers?
Hi, the memo I got just referred to the reduction. I'll verify as soon as possible, when it will take effect, and/or if there are any strings attached, for the benefit of us all. Also note that I got it towards the end of the day, yesterday. Thanks for the question.

I do not have any information for Akure, sorry. I don't think it will be in the batch that comes after, P.H, though.

I think NTEL is very unreliable, initially they said the would launch in PH last month which was May, but they didn't do so and when I contacted them on Facebook and twiter but was told they weren't sure when they would be launching in PH, mind you PH is a city and not a state, you keep referring to it as a state but it's not state, if NTEL can't handle a simple launch in a city how then will they be able to handle the remaining states. MTN,GLO and ETISALAT did better on their launch than NTEL...can't even give a definite date for a launch. Why not just make your motto 'coming soon'
I'm not here to teach you geography, boy. If you know just a little about telecoms, then you will know it's possible for the major city in a state to have reception, and others don't. If you can't get the information you need from what i've posted, then i can't help you. I'm not being paid for this. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, mate. It's not how fast, but how well.

Just like I mentioned earlier, the prices for the various subscription plans have been reduced.

N1000- 4days validity.
N1500-7 days validity.
N6000- 30 days validity.

Note that all are unlimited access, but fair usage policy applies.

Yeah. I thought about that. I receive too many calls, and can only answer a few at this time. So it won't make much sense dropping mine, if I can't be properly reached.
Best option is private message.

When will it be launched in Delta state?
Hmmm. Like I said, I'm not sure I can publish that. But what I can tell you is this. Once PH is live, Delta is definitely among the next batch of States that will be live. You can use the yard stick of the time between the launching of Abuja, Lagos and PH. That list also includes Imo and Akwa Ibom.

Just getting home.

Hello guys,
A lot of people have been wondering when Ntel will be live in Port Harcourt. I'll be a representative when it kicks off, so just want to give you guys some information about the company, and updates.

-Ntel is looking to lunch before the end of July, in Port Harcourt.

-The communication infrastructure is currently being deployed, as they were brought into two not too long ago.

-About 200 sites will be deployed in PH, same amount in Abuja and about 400 in Lagos.

-Once we are live in Port Harcourt. I'll publish a list of places where you can get our decides and sims.

-We are also working with some companies, to provide cheap 4G phones, seeing most are quite expensive.

-Places like Bonny, Onne will also be live. The offshore guys wont be left out.

A lot of people have been asking why it's just P.H, Lagos and Abuja first.
The reason is that, for all telecom firms, more than 40% of their profits come from just these 3 states.

After PH starts talking, a couple of states will be coming on...which I'm not sure if I should mention at this time.

Also note that the cost of subscription would still come down later.

If you have any question, feel free to ask.
I'll reply if I have the information you seek, and I am free to release it at this time.

Also note that most of the information I have, pertains to PH and the Southern regional coverage.

Oh, if you are also looking to do business with ntel, and you have experience in the telecoms sector, you can also contact me, so I could arrange a meet. The window closes soon.

I'm very busy at this time, so replies may take a while.

Kind Regards.
PhonesRe: Why Do Most People Hate Sending Text Messages? by sdavirus: 1:50pm On Jun 02, 2016
Sleekyshuga:
Growing up, I have learnt that calling a particular number twice without getting a response indicates that the receiver is busy or indisposed, and at such, a text message should follow immediately..

Why should I continue calling someone who has refused to take his/her calls at the moment, when every hand set has an 'SMS feature?'

Funnily, I barely call grin, save the matter is very critical.. Since the invent of WhatsApp and BBM, making calls have been a herculean task..

Reasons why a caller keeps calling even after the receiver sends a message:

• Matter of urgency: Yeah!! Sometimes, the urgency @ which a message should be delivered continually gives the caller an edge to call, irrespective of your been busy or not..
An example is a person you gave an invitation to your office, house etc, and along the line, you got busy.. The person, being a first timer continually needs you on the phone for a better direction.. An SMS at this point is worthless cheesy..

• Verification of an info: Most peeps continually call to verify an info, especially in a do or die affair grin.. Your been busy matters little to them until you have heard them out..

• To gossip or to report a case that was physically seen/witnessed: Gossips are better done verbally grin.. You hear peeps say, 'Babe oo.. Wait make I call you.. This tory too long to type..'
. Just the way I see it

hostkobo:
simple answer: YES we have great developers in Nigeria.

Hmm, I'm wondering how you'll be able to identify them since you are not a web-developer yourself. Besides since you think a lot of "CMSs are poo", you might not realize that great web-developers are the ones who can conceptualize a CMS and realize it with bunch of scripts - regardless of the project.

what project do you have in mind. Perhaps, I could add my own 2-cents.

regards,
HK
Hello HK,
Thanks for your reply.
About CMS, I said that because everyone can get basic sites running, with Joomla, Wordpress, etc.....But when it comes to modifications, they can't do squat. I actually fancy the idea of using a CMS for an MVP, before going all in. (I'm open to suggestions).

I'm not a web dev, but I have a little idea about what and how I think it should be done, I also have 2 web devs, who act as advisers, and maybe you could be the third. lol

Anyway, the project is in line with classifieds. There's just a little twist to it.

I think you are cool.

WebmastersDo We Really Have Great Web Developers In Nigeria? by sdavirus(op): 3:15pm On May 06, 2016
I've noticed for sometime, that many people that call themselves web developers are simply people that use all these CMS shit, and many don't even know a thing or two about CSS, talkless of more complex stuff.
I feel that maybe we have, but they are few? And they are also to busy working on real projects.

I was wondering if there is really anyone here that is really good with Javascript, PHP (could work with CMS templates, since they go together), ruby and/or python?? (depending on the route)

I have a project that I will want to work on pretty soon, nothing super, but at least, the cats at MiT think it can work, and a couple of good reviews from execs from Europe and the US

If there is anyone, would be nice to hear your voice.... Just maybe we can go to war, someday.

Regards,

Cross

P.S: I'm not a web dev.

Let me make a few things clear.

1. This is NOT gnld or whatever you call it company.
2. I will assume those of you asking for the company name simply want to try and apply, that's fine, but i do not entertain rudeness so i wont mention the name.
3. We have enough resources for proper advertisement including via linkedin but it wasn't used in this case. Everyone interviewed was based on just referrals. It just an internship role so why spend so much on linkedin.
4. 80% of comments i see make me quite saddened as to the mentality of today's youths.
With the kind of comments on your thread, it's clear to see why we are backward. What you said is just the plain truth.... We have dark hearts in this country, and people wonder why they aren't moving forward.

I was on a panel myself last week, and graduates can't even defend what's on their CV.

Thé problem is not just the graduates.... Useless lecturers can't offer what they don't have either... Thé system needs an overhaul.
But anyone that can't go the extra mile for himself, isn't ready for life, ahead.

Anyone with half a brain will know u didn't mean all Nigerian graduates.
I've noticed there's just a lot of bitterness, in our hearts. Such a shame.

No need wasting your time, trying to make people sit-up.
It's also a big shame, the number of likes, these appalling comments have.

We are making our money, and changing lives, my picture is on my profile... Before you make defamatory statements, do some research and check someone's previous posts.

A couple of people have been accepted on probation yesterday...that makes it all worth it.

I préfer people knowing into what they are going into, before they get started, rather than going half way, and seeing it's different.

If my company and business is a scam, may we all die before the month is over, but if u all lazy bums are slanderers... May reverse be the case.... Can u get an amen or ameen for you all?

Not everyone is lazy.

We started from the very bottom, hardwork and God is taking us somewhere.
We know how many people we have helped get jobs, and how many people I've helped for free. Sales assistants, engineers.

So please, be objective and do your job. You try to bring someone down without a cause, you will sink ten times faster.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Admin Assistants Needed In A Firm In Port Harcourt by sdavirus(op):
Duplicate post... But anyway, let me use this to explain. Your pain of the N3000 doesn't mean if u don't get the job, it's over.

We will still match u with other opportunities, that fall into the category of opportunities you seek.

For instance, we'll start recruiting for MTN Nigeria, next month, if you feel it's something u can do, you can be drafted in.

If you aren't resident in PH, no need to bother ringing. No need of offering bribes for favours.

Dont have any power to recruit.. And I won't lie in recommendations, cos it will come back to hunt us. Just get in there and handle your business.
