PROUD-IGBO:
^^^On the bolded.....i'm not an economist, but using common sense one can see the error in your argument:

Assuming i'm strapped for cash as a businessman, and i have $20 saved in the bank with nothing else to invest in my ailing business (in specific/targeted areas).....an investment which if made would rapidly expand my business (ie- turnover, profit and new factories) and i'll then be able to employ more hands; now imagine i was offered a $20 twenty year loan at a very minimal interest rate, to make all the necessary investments to expand, and which would then mean i can still hold on to my $20 savings in the bank; now which option do you reckon i should go for?......bearing in mind that the avenues for waste and fraud have been reduced by tying the loan to measurable and identifiable deliverables.

Borrowing -given our present need for new infrastructure and industries that could help the economy grow- isn't necessarily a bad thing insofar as assurances are given of prudent use of the funds borrowed; we could either be afraid to take bold steps that would make our economy grow, or take the bull by the horns and trust the people we have running the economy to do the right thing (of course with the necessary 'checks' and 'monitoring' by different bodies and agencies like civil society, the press, and our representatives in Abuja).
Don't kind of understand this logic.
If we have sincere budget deficits then borrowing is inevitable.
But borrowing to finance phantom deficits has always been our problem.
This people inserts projects that were never going to be executed just to embezzle funds meant for it.
Federal Ministries are the epitome of corruption on this aspect.

omo_to_dun: My sister, you women are very complex creatures. You think about something, say another thing, and do a thing that is completely different from the first two.

We have learned, not from women's words, but from their actions.
You could not have said it better. I remember making some advances on a girl about 3 month to my service, she vehemently rejected and tongue lashed me. However during my service, i notice some strange calls on my phone, the caller will hid number and when i pick it, she will just say, thanks, i just wanna know you are alright. I was so worried, the day she finally show her face,
i ask her why, she said she have always love me, but that i made a right move at the wrong place.
I make the initial advance at Dance Party.

PoliticsRe: Anambra Governorship Race - Road To 2014 by seanet01: 6:25am On Dec 27, 2012
PointB: Whatever Ngige did in Anambra was to avoid the booby traps set for him by Obj, who was after him. Under that circumstance, Ngige had no choice than to spend Anambra's money in Anambra. Given a level playing ground, I doubt he will deliver much.

I think Anambra state deserves someone like Soludo or Dora Akunyili. But I rather see Soludo go for President or Finance Minister. The guy is a visionary and an astute manager!
Can you see your hypocrisy?
You did admitted that Ngige performed but to twist the brain of clueless people you said he performed because obj laid some bobby trap, what nonsense?
The pdp governors that obj did not set bobby trap for, what was their performance?
I knew why you hated to see Ngige again as governor,
Its because of the same man you have always been paranoid of. The Acceptance of Tinubu as a Politically Vibrant and Dogged fighter by the east as a possible mean to get reasonable clues from in dislodging reckless governors is the beginning of Political Liberation of the east!

afam4eva: ^^ I really didn't have the opportunity to assess Ngige in his short stint as governor but a lot of Ndi Anambra seem to believe he did really well. Although i don't know what they're basing it on. I just want someone in the mold of Donald duke or even Fashola for Anambra. My personal choice is Soludo.
hum, so you actually like Fashola?

PoliticsRe: Where Is Gej's Enugu "International Airport"? by seanet01: 5:29am On Dec 27, 2012
taharqa: Let me just make 2 quick points here and leave this thread:

- the domestic wing of the Enugu airport terminal is been remodelled and reconstructed. Just like what we saw with GAT terminal during its reconstruction and what is the general norm with such ongoing projects, there would be a lot of disruptions and discomforts in the normal activities of the airport (I recall many persons calling the tent FAAN provided during GAT reconstruction a Refugee camp for instance). The work is almost complete, so people ought to have some patience.

- On the international airport and terminal, some work have been going on in Phases (even before GEJ) to reasphalt and expand the runway and other things that was required to make Akanu Ibiam an international airport. I honestly dont know the current state of work at present though.
The construction of a new International terminal (one of about 5) is starting in at least a month and is certainly would give a complete and different face-lift to the international terminal.

Some PATIENCE plz...
look at this one. Patience ko Patient ni.
Give us something better not this conjectures. This is 2012.
PoliticsRe: Where Is Gej's Enugu "International Airport"? by seanet01: 5:24am On Dec 27, 2012
PROUD-IGBO:
It almost seems like i have a telepathic link with the author of this write up, as these are my sentiments exactly.

Absolutley NOTHING of substance is happening in the south east courtesy of the federal gov't, besides that (diluted, basic and cheap stuff) which we get in the 'general' scheme of things; and it's either GEJ is being crafty and doesn't care as much as he want's people to believe, or he's a bit afraid to stick his neck out and do something 'substantial' for the south east (and we do deserve such attention) b'cos of what the normal Igbo-haters and badbelle people will say- that he is favouring the Igbos.

I wonder when this write up was penned undecided; if it's based on a recent visit to the airport, then it's just plain pathetic......we would expect works to be rounding up by now, with finishing touches being made and rough edges being smoothed out here and there.

Also, with all the peeps that would have used the airport this christmas period, we should have got some current/up-to-date pics of the airport uploaded by now (exterior and interior pics); this just goes to show that we (Ndigbo) are part of our problem, as we don't seem to care much for 'general' things like this, and don't know how to push and mount pressure on the central gov't that 'holds the knife, and the yam' as it were; a daughter being the aviation minister may have made a difference with other ethnicities, but not us....where things must either be done 'fairly' or be done to favour others first for fear of being accused of favouring the south east unfairly over others.
So NOTHING of substance is actually being done in the South east to the betterment of the Region?
When i saw the moniker that wrote that, i removed my spectacles to be sure i am not having shortsightedness.
I can not believe this is coming from PROUDIBO,
So despite all the hurling of insults you normally undertake against those who criticize the obvious cluelessness of GEJ, you still have the audacity to say Jonathan has done nothing in the south east?
It is either you are being intellectually dishonest with your defending of GEJ on this forum or you are a member of the 40 laptop.
You see why we Yoruba don't give a hoot about the Presidency,
OBJ has taught us that in this country, that your kinsmen or ally is the President does not translates to the slightest of development in your region.
Only people suffering from hallucination will leave their destiny in the hands of this irresponsible Federal goverment led by Jonathan.
Not even the fact that you people cooked up figures on behalf of GEJ could make him give you special consideration.
You can keep voting PDP,
Here in the South West, we are contented with ACN at least for now.
Down with PDP.
