Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by seanlaw(m): 9:40pm On Jul 21, 2010
Am totally shocked at the methods used by some nairalanders to defend the refund of these monies. First of all, people like the Ibru n Co. would not be paying tithes n offering in CASH (SO THE MONIES ARE TRACEABLE). Secondly, we all hear pastors give testimonies of church members who pay tithes of so so n so millions (how did they come about this facts? the answer is simple! RECORDS). Thirdly (this would be met with so much criticism), churches like WINNERS who keep tithe booklet should be compelled to give copies of such booklets to the EFCC or any related agencies to help fight corruption like the NI NUMBER in England which can be used to detect anyone who is not paying his income tax or being paid below the national minimum wage or working more than the allowed hours.

For those who are knowledgeable, please read Deu 14:22 downwards n try to explain it to yourself n ur people.

Nairaland / General / Filling Stations In Ojota Collects Mandatory 50 Naira To Sell Pms Into Kegs by seanlaw(m): 8:22am On Jul 20, 2010
Hello Nlanders,
I find this amusing and annoying. I went to the Texaco filling station at Ojota to buy fuel and was told I have to pay 5o naira to buy fuel into a 5ltr keg. I was furious and the idiot said that there is a directive from the government not to sell into kegs again. I spoke with someone there who claimed he was the manager of the station and he also confirmed it and said they are collecting the money to "help" us. shocked angry sad
I later went to Total and the same thing was going on but the attendant at Total confessed it was to make ends meet and not because someone said they should not sell in Kegs.

Am posting this to find out if the same thing is happening else where.
looking forward to your response
Family / Re: Whats Ur Opinion On Adoption? by seanlaw(m): 4:49pm On Jul 16, 2010
@poster
The decision to adopt a baby is a very technical issue and one our society needs to be educated upon. It's a good thing to consider adopting a baby. Adoption is not only an option for couples who are are unable to have babies but a decision we all need to look into. BradJolie adopted babies, Madonna also did attract international media over the issue of adoption.

I have a foundation called ONE and the goal is to help eradicate abuse against children and women. We always try to advice everyone to at least dedicate sometime to visit motherless babies home and other homes. Millions of children are out there as orphans. Please take time to think of what you would have wanted in your own biological baby and try to match it to the baby you intend to adopt.

YES colleagues, friends and family might not accept the decision but your joy is to nurse "your baby". By giving him/her the opportunity to experience the joy of a family.

Politics / Re: Jonathan Slashes N16.4 Billion Nigeria @ 50 Celebrations Budget by seanlaw(m): 5:21pm On Jul 09, 2010
Developed countries around the world are cutting cost while our dear Nigeria is planning to spend 9.5 billion. In a country where poverty, lack of effective and adequate health care is missing. Power outage is the in thing and this government is spending this much. 320million on advert, 100million for a sport village in south africa(world cup ends in july and independence day is still in October). God why can't you just send out the Angel of Death to wipe out these wasters, thieves, leaders without a passion to serve. cry angry sad

Can't they just donate to 1goal?
Politics / Who Gets Paid What In The Obama White House by seanlaw(m): 12:47pm On Jul 07, 2010
President Obama didn’t get a raise last year — nor did most of his senior staff.
That’s according to the White House’s latest salary list, which reports a nearly $39 million annual payroll. This year, the White House has made the report, which it files with Congress every year, available online for the first time. The list itemizes the salary and title of every employee of the White House, except for the vice president’s office, which is technically an arm of the Senate. The pay sheet also doesn’t include Obama, whose $400,000 annual salary is regulated by Congress. According to the latest study, the White House currently employs 469 people — down 17 positions from 2009.
There are few changes in the report from last year, in part because Obama capped the salaries of any employee making more than $100,000 a year. According to the White House, employee salaries range from $21,000 to nearly $180,000 a year

President Obama's salary annually is #56m naira and our dis-Honourable house members are receiving #45m naira as salary. What a country we live in. To our politicians "political office is a place to serve our people (a part-time job) and not to enrich your pockets". angry sad

Well i really can't say this person or that individual but if we take a look at flourishing FA, the head has a proven record. People like Taiwo Ogunjobi have nothing to do at the glass and his likes should be probed. wink cool
Sports / Re: Breaking News: Jonathan Reverses Ban On Super Eagles Hours To Fifa Deadline! by seanlaw(m): 10:07pm On Jul 05, 2010
What would Larry Izamoje and John Fashanu have to say now that the ban has been rescinded. I would have expected them to bring to the notice of Committee the impediments the ban carry with it.

Disband the team
Dissolve the NFF board
Allow people who are involved in sport
The Head of thhe NFF should be a CEO with proven track records of success.

duno:

well most of the banks have such products (to be paid back in 5 - 20 years depending on the bank) or they may help to access NHF loan( payback period may be 30 years or more depending on age). The banks usually have higher interest rates and shorter payback period which is why NHF is better, however it is quite difficult accessing the NHF loan.

Some finance house (savings & loans) claim they can get the NHF loan out in 6 months. Just about to open an account with one so cant verify their claims yet.

Thanks duno for this valuable info. I would not mind if you could send the details to my box( oluwaseunlawal@gmail.com). I know the bank rates would be considerably higher. I would rather start paying for my own crib than pay a landlord at least #1million plus a year.

Looking forward to more info thanks duno again.

2 or 3 bedroom apartment. The amount we pay to landlord as rent could be channeled to become a landlord yourself. I live in birmingham and you can get such accommodation. I know it might be difficult to get such offer in Nigeria due to lack of proper book keeping and contact details but i would appreciate any info on this. Thanks

The problem with us is our inability to take responsibility, we always want others to take responsibility on our behalf angry
My brother let the change you want to see start from you

Well have started by trying to educate people around me. I have told friends and family to disobey all unjust laws. People need to know what their rights and obligations are.

Drivers should know what a police officer can ask for. Imagine police along ijebu to ibadan stopping all buses in search of drugs. After conducting a friutless search, they ask that d occupants of the bus 'sort' them.

The problem is in us all and the change lies in us too. Poverty is the access point for pastors to rip pple of their belongings.

Our so called religious leaders should stop organising end of the month n highway prayer meeting to fight poverty in the lives of Nigerians rather they should channel their prayer to the eradication of our so called leaders n everyone who has soiled our nation.

House, if u have any chance to lead a prayer session. Please pray God should wipe them out like he did to Sodom.
