Celebrities / Re: Lovely Pictures Of Bianca Ojukwu At This Year’s Igbo Cultural Festival In USA by pepperdemzombie: 12:46pm On Aug 19, 2022
moupe:

In d same APGA which Bianca’s husband Ojukwu built up and was their National leader when Ebele Obiano was just a caterer in Lagos
Who is she to accost and try to attack
Bianca?
Will she dare it if Ojukwu was alive?
By the way, Bianca is still a principal executive of the BOT in APGA …check it
She is the chairman of the Party Reconciliation Committee..
She is the executive secretary of the Truth and Justice Commitee of APGA
Get your facts straight instead of jumping out here to display your ignorance.
If she is a responsible woman, Ojukwu's children shouldn't have disgraced her publicly out of APGA, they should have been her backbone instead.
Who appointed her? Soludo recently after assaulting Mrs Obiano publicly!
Bianca was spain ambassador but Kanu put biafra embassy there too, she pretended nothing was happening while the Nigerian and biafra Embassies proved superiority. Hence the non recognision of that embassy up till today. Go and ask people who live in that country how they solve embassy related issues. This coupled with public assault, that's the best person to appoint as a Peace and Reconciliation chairman just to spite Mrs Obiano.
Peace and Reconciliation chairman who doesn't even have peace nor reconciliation with the family of a 22 year marriage.

Is she not the same one that overlooked biafra embassy in spain established with Nigeria embassy causing commotion on who is representing Nigeria in spain?

Politics / Trip Suspension Not To Avoid Ekweremadu's Treatment - Sen Orji Kalu by Handsomecole(m): 6:51pm On Aug 19, 2019
- The former governor said he was invited by Igbo group in spain to attend their function but could not go because he was attending to his constituents

- The senator condemned the attack on ex-deputy president of the Senate Ekweremadu and urged the government to look into it

The chief whip of the Senate, Dr Orji Kalu, has described as unfounded, social media reports that he suspended his planned medical check-up to Germany because of what happened to Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

Kalu disclosed this in a telephone interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, August 19, in Abuja.

NAN recalls that the former deputy Senate president was physically assaulted in Germany at the weekend by some members of the Indigenous People of biafra (IPOB). Ekweremadu was invited as a speaker/special guest of honour at the 2nd Annual Igbo Cultural Festival in Nuremberg, Germany.

Kalu said that since the Senate commenced its recess, he has been in his country home, interacting with his constituents.

"I have been in my country home interacting with the people and settling disputes. The news that I suspended by planned medical check-up in Germany was not true.

“I was invited by Igbo group in spain to attend their function, I could not go because of the interaction with my constituents."

Kalu had described the action of the IPOB members as uncivilised, unacceptable and barbaric.

The former Abia governor urged Igbo people to respect their leaders at all levels. He noted that the only way the southeast zone can be prosperous was by embracing dialogue, peace and unity.

Kalu also urged the embassy of Nigeria in Germany, the German government and appropriate authorities to bring the perpetrators of the ugly incident to book.

He said: “After watching a viral video of the physical attack on former deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweramadu, I was not only disappointed, but irritated and disturbed with the action of some members of IPOB.

“The assault on the senator is a slap on Igbo leaders regardless of age, party affiliation and religion. The perpetrators of the uncivilised act must face the wrath of the law.

“Senator Ekweramadu is not only one of the Igbo leaders, but also a prominent Nigerian and as such should be accorded due respect by all and sundry at home and abroad.

“For the south-east to move forward, the people of the zone must embrace dialogue as a way of resolving pertinent issues and eschew violence.

Kalu appealed to Igbo people across the globe to be law-abiding and good ambassadors of Nigeria.

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Spotted Celebrating Catalan Independence 2017 B by marjos: 10:21pm On Oct 29, 2017
Eaunde gathered that the embattled Biafran leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is believed to have either been killed by the Nigerian army or is being held unlawfully by the Nigerian Army, was in Catalonia in 2015. In one of his broadcasts from Catalonia, the Biafran leader prophesied that Catalonia will gain independence from spain in 2017 and today it has become a reality.

Catalonia is a region in the north – eastern extremity of the Iberian Peninsula in the far north – east of spain. It also the region in which the only Biafran embassy is located.

It can only take a serious and memorandum of understanding for the Catalans to allow the one and only Biafran embassy in their land.

According to a top IPOB official who spoke with Afroinsider reporter on phone, the Biafran leader held series of meetings with Catalan officials and their was diffusion of ideas and innovations from both sides on how to spearhead their respective quests for independence.

In the far right, beside one of the leaders of Catalonia freedom movement, stood the leader of the indigenous people of biafra, mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the man that brought light & good tidings to the most darkest part of the world, known as Nigeria. In 2015, during one of his tours in Europe, Nnamdi Kanu, met with the Catalan political leaders, and each of them exchanged great ideas & support for each other’s course; considering what both intending nations have suffered from their oppressors, they vowed never to relent in their quest to emancipate their people from life of mediocrity & servitude.

Nowhere in the world will a military installations be assaulted without the ACT establishing such institution revolting.

Flying of biafra flag across Nigerian Army check point after the flag was brought down on 15th January, 1970 is a great provocation. Throwing of objects at NA armoured carrier, fighting soldiers & making attempts to disarm a soldier are all nonsense.

Can a Palestinian Army fly Palestinian flag across Israeli Army checkpoint? There is no way the Nigerian Army will not revolt. What happened at Benue & Odi during Obj has not happened in Abia, but the people are propaganda master blackmailing Nigeria everywhere.

I know there are so many Ibos at the American embassy in Nigeria. They might be feeding the DEFENCE ATTACHE wrong information. Nairaland / General / Biafra Agitation: US, EU, Others Oppose IPOB Ban by OrientDailyNews: 12:04pm On Sep 25, 2017
Insist IPOB is not a terror group
Federal government’s controversial designation of the Indigenous Peoples of biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organisation and subsequent proscription of its activities in the country has received a major set-back as the United States of America (US) and the European Union have added their voice to the growing dissent to the official reasons given for the IPOB ban.

The US government declared that it does not consider IPOB a terrorist organisation, barely days after the European Union (EU), condemned and rejected the unilateral classification of the group as a terrorist organisation by the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led government’s controversial crackdown on the Nnamdi Kanu-led group seeking self-determination for the Igbo, which culminated in the launching of a military campaign- ‘Operation Python Dance II’ and its designation of the group as a terror group, took a new twist last week when a Federal High Court in Abuja gave a judicial backing to the executive to outlaw the group and its activities in the country.

The court, while granting the controversial order, to proscribe the group last Wednesday, argued that activities of IPOB constituted acts of terrorism. Shortly after the court judgment, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, disclosed that the presidency would proceed to gazette the order banning IPOB.

Spokesman for the American embassy in Nigeria, Russell Brooks, has now disclosed that the White House does not view IPOB as a terrorist group. While reiterating the commitment of the US government to peace and unity in Nigeria, Mr. Brooks urged political leaders and other relevant authorities and stakeholders to work towards peaceful resolution of political grievances rather than resorting to crackdown.

“Within the context of unity, we encourage all Nigerians to support a de-escalation of tensions and peaceful resolution of grievances.  The Indigenous People of biafra is not a terrorist organisation under US law,” he explained.

The US embassy, however, declined to comment on whether the federal government had asked it to treat IPOB as a terrorist organisation and to block money sent to IPOB from the US. Brooks also did not state the US’ position on the agitation for a Biafran state.

President of the EU Commission, Mr. Jean-Claude Junker, who made the view of the Commission known, however, warned the Nigerian security personnel against what he described as their ill-hearted and unprofessional handling of democratic issues and the rights of the people. Junker cautioned the Nigerian military chiefs that they must employ every democratic tenet to handle issues that concern the agitations of the citizens in Nigeria.

“It is the people’s right to agitate and make a request from their government; self-determination is a right enshrined in the United Nations Charter. The people of biafra have every right to request for a referendum; they have been in this struggle for a while now and they have never killed or shot a bullet; instead they are the victims of attacks and murder.

The EU equally condemned the reported military assaults on civilians in parts of the south east in the wake of the controversial launch of Operation Python Dance.  “The entire EU hereby condemns the brutal attack on IPOB members and leadership under the pretentious disguise of a military exercise (Operation Python Dance). The Nigerian military is warned to adopt democratic tenets in handling citizens.

“The EU will not sit and watch things go undemocratic in the largest economy of the West African region,” he warned.

Mr. Junker promised to raise the issues concerning the peoples’ request for a referendum among the caucus of the EU, stating that the biafra request for a referendum was not different from that of the Catalonians in spain and the Scots in Britain.

He said the Nigeria government must rise above the suppression of voices of dissent and handle issues with every tenet of maturity and democracy.

Meanwhile, France has denied knowledge of the alleged secret funding activities of the Indigenous People of biafra (IPOB) within its territory. The French embassy in Abuja made the swift declaration following last week’s claims by the Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, that the financial headquarters of IPOB was in France.

As he fielded questions from newsmen, Mohammed queried: “Let me tell you; the financial headquarters is in France. We know, but you see, can you, as a government, stop sending money to your parents?”

In a communiqué, the French embassy expressed surprise over Mohammed’s claims, insisting that it knew nothing about such activity. The communiqué signed by the embassy’s Press Officer, Ms Claude Abily read: “The embassy of France was surprised by the statement made yesterday by the Minister of Information and Culture indicating that the “financial headquarters” of IPOB were in France.

“We don’t have any knowledge of a particular presence of IPOB in France and the Nigerian authorities never got in touch with the embassy on this point. We stand ready to examine any information which could support this statement. Furthermore, we would like to reiterate that France actively cooperates with Nigeria in the field of security and that we strongly support the unity of the country.”

The United Kingdom High Commission in Abuja also reacted to Mohammed’s claim that the UK government was frustrating Nigeria’s effort to halt the operation of IPOB’s internal radio operating from London. In its response, the British High Commission said it was not aware of any representation from the Nigerian government about Radio biafra.

The statement signed by the Press and Public Affairs Officer, Joe Abuku read: “The UK is not aware of any representation from the Nigerian government about Radio biafra. Were we to receive any such request, we would, of course, consider it carefully on the basis of the available evidence, recognising that freedom of speech and expression carries responsibilities.”

Orient Daily gathered that the fleeing IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu had petitioned the European Union and other global powers on what he considered as unjust treatment being meted out to the Igbo in the on-going military operation in southeast region of Nigeria. In the petition, dated September 14, 2017, Kanu reportedly accused the army of intimidation, torture, arrest, abduction and killing of the civilian populace in the southeast He also petitioned the European Union High Commission, the presidents of United States of America, Russia, United Kingdom, France and prime minister of Israel.

The letter, written by the counsel to the IPOB leader, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, was addressed to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, the European Union High Commission, the presidents of United States of America, Russia and Israeli prime minister.

The letter, which had attachment to it - of videos and photographs - of victims of the alleged army attack, claimed that the hostility against the IPOB members had escalated to other neighbouring states resulting in bloody casualties. It read in parts: “Unarmed civilians, largely made up members of the Indigenous People of biafra, are now being tortured and murdered in cold blood on a daily basis.

“We have no doubt that the undisclosed reason for deploying troops to south eastern states by the President Buhari-led administration is to attack unarmed and defenceless members of the Indigenous People of biafra who are merely exercising their constitutional guaranteed rights to self-determination,” the letter said.

Politics / Re: IPOB Gets Fund In Paris From Holland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Turkey by Mrchippychappy(m): 8:00am On Sep 23, 2017
Following intelligence reports, the Federal Government has located a slush account in Paris to which some Nigerians have made huge deposits in support of the Indigenous People of biafra (IPOB).

It has also uncovered how some IPOB members have invaded Nigerian embassies in Hong Kong and spain and created some scenes in the last 72 hours.

The development, security sources said, was an indication of the desperation of IPOB and the justification for the proscription of the organisation.
But the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Denys Gauer on Friday met with the Minister of Information Lies and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Although the outcome of the meeting between the two leaders was kept under wraps, Gauer was said to have reassured the Federal Government that France would not support any terrorist group.

It was learnt that the French government promised to take action as soon as the IPOB’s slush account was known to it.

A top security source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Intelligence gathering has led to the discovery of an account in Paris into which some Nigerians in the Diaspora remit funds to support IPOB.

“From the said account, funds were being drawn for the activities of IPOB at home and abroad. The relevant security agencies did a thorough job and provided incontrovertible evidence on the basis of which the government proscribed the terrorist organisation.

“These Nigerians in the Diaspora are using France as a clearing house.
“Investigations also confirmed inflows into the account from Holland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Turkey, Singapore and other parts of Europe.
“In fact, a football tournament was recently organised in Senegal to raise funds for IPOB.
“As a matter of fact, the account is being used to get money from a lot of people in the Diaspora.

“What many Nigerians did not know is that the Minister of Information and Culture was talking on the basis of credible intelligence report.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “With cooperation by the international community, especially relevant countries, we will soon get the list of all the people remitting funds into the account in Paris.”

But the government was also concerned that IPOB members were becoming desperate after the clampdown on the terrorist group.

The source said: “IPOB members are becoming desperate in the last 72 hours. About two days ago, some members of the terrorist group breezed into our embassy in Hong Kong under the pretence of renewing their passports but ended up staging a protest.

“The IPOB members also demonstrated at our embassy in spain a few days ago.”
At press time, the details of the session between the French Ambassador and the Minister of Information and Culture were yet to be formally released.
But a source said: “The Ambassador actually told the minister that France would never condone the activities of any terrorist group, including IPOB.

“He recalled that France has always been at the receiving end of terrorists and so cannot under any circumstances back IPOB.

“He restated the determination of the French government to support any policy or initiative which will strengthen Nigeria’s unity.

“He actually made it known that his government will not back secessionist agitation in this country.”
On the account in Paris, the Ambassador was said to have told the minister that France was “not aware of the account, but Nigeria should make a formal report.”
The source said the minister also reiterated that he “never said that France was supporting IPOB, because there is a robust relationship between France and Nigeria.

“We can never accuse France of collaborating with terrorists, because it has been assisting us in tackling Boko Haram insurgency.

“France played a major role in setting up and managing the operation of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu Supported One Nigeria Under Jonathan But Suddenly Became A Monster by agabaI23(m): 8:54pm On Sep 17, 2017

Op-Ed Editor

Y! Special Report: From Peckham to biafra- Is Nnamdi Kanu a selfless saviour or the perfect propagandist?

On a sunny afternoon in July 2013, as Hilary Okeke drove around the city of Enugu with his friends on their way back from scouting for girls at the Polo Park Mall, he turned on the radio. As he fiddled with the knob, an Igbo version of American superstar Jay Z’s Forever Young came on, on a random frequency.

Initially stunned for a few seconds, the youngsters listened to the new version complete with Igbo lyrics and a new theme of freedom. It was the voice of Nnamdi ‘Director’ Kanu on Radio biafra, official medium of advocates for the breakaway state of biafra and a fixture in the Igbo-dominated South East of Nigeria.

“It was like a comic relief for me and my friends,” Okeke reminisces. “So we listened to nothing else but Radio biafra on our way home.” As they soon found out, the joke was only on them as many of their neighbours and family friends had been listening for days and even weeks before.

As a man on a mission to change perceived neglect of the South-East, a belief that is at the heart of the agitation, Kanu’s tool of trade is the pirate radio station whose unique brand of ethnic propaganda is primarily targeted at Nigerians within the region.

Even after Yakubu Gowon’s ‘no victor, no vanquished’ speech at the end of the war, a new fiscal policy where a uniform bank balance of 20 pounds was assigned to all Easterners, followed. Activists from the region have been crying for years about the dearth of federal-sponsored infrastructure in the East – and leadership too.

“Since the death of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, there has been a leadership vacuum among the Igbos”, says a senior lecturer at the Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT) under condition of anonymity. “Igbos have been suffering an identity crisis since the end of the civil war and we have been like sheep without shepherd”, he points out. “So these boys have simply filled that vacuum.”

“Some of them have joined this small boy to begin to wish for the State of biafra”, lamented Joe Igbokwe, spokesperson for the Lagos state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress. “Suddenly the so-called Radio biafra has created a momentum for them…. Woe betides a nation whose leaders are children.”

A Call to Arms

For many of Kanu’s followers, there is a lingering hope that the time has come for biafra to emerge as a new nation and a seeming readiness for a war to force the liberation. Enoch Okerekeocha, a Lagos-based clergyman who led troops to battle as a combatant on the side of biafra during the civil war, dismisses the yearnings for war. “There is still hope in some quarters that biafra will rise again“, he says. “But I don’t know how old this Kanu is or if he was alive during the war. Anyone that fought in the war might not entertain such thoughts because the suffering was too much.”

Says Igbokwe, ““It is now 45 years after the Nigeria-biafra Civil War and I think that Igbos must rise up to stop this small boy who never saw the 1967-1970 Civil War and who may not know the implications of what he is doing.”

Rather than stop him, many have joined the movement. Its broadcasts have fueled protests across Aba, Awka, Asaba, Owerri, Enugu and Onitsha, hotspots of the Eastern region that was geographically Biafran territory. Unfortunately, most have been violent; a mosque was burnt down in the commercial town of Onitsha on December 2, 2015.

In October 2015, as a guest speaker at the World Igbo Congress in Los Angeles, Kanu himself solicited for aid in acquiring ammunition to wage war against Nigeria in a charge that signaled his intention to go violent.

For some of his sympathizers and those watching, it caused a rethink about his true motives. What really was the method to the man’s madness?

‘Teacher, Don’t Teach Me Nonsense’

Born Nnamdi Nwannekaenyi Kenneth Okwu-Kanu over forty years ago in Isiama Afara, Abia State, he hails from Umuahia and holds both British and Nigerian nationalities. Married to Rose who is also a dual citizen, they both run the station out of their apartment in the Peckham district of south London, a neighbourhood that is home to a large Nigerian community. While his religious affiliation is in doubt, he believes in a deity he refers to as ‘Chukwu Okike Abiama’.

Almost like Teacher in Ayi Kwei Armah’s classic, The Beautiful Ones are Not Yet Born, Nnamdi Kanu is eloquent and has the concomitant conceitedness of the well read. Authoritative, persuasive and an unrepentant tribalist, he is the undisputed biggest rallying voice for pro-biafra Igbos around the world today. Fluent in Igbo and English, he has a well-equipped insult lexicon in both languages – he calls Buhari ‘a paedophile Almajiri’ and refers to Nigeria as a zoo, “the Zoological Republic of Nigeria”.

In an interview in Malaysia, he described the North as the “Mohammedan empire of the North’. “Can you imagine amalgamating Saudi Arabia and the US side by side?”, he asked rhetorically. Before his arrest and subsequent detention in October 2015 on charges of treason, the itinerant Kanu would travel all over Europe and Asia to spread the gospel of the indigenous People of biafra, through interactive sessions hosted by Radio biafra. The audience? The large Igbo communities spread across every single country in the globe.

His right-hand man, Alphonsus Uche Okafor-Mefor, formerly Director of Communications, biafra Liberation League who has been supervising the activities of Radio biafra in Kanu’s absence, has been well primed for his job. He claimed asylum in the UK in April 2005, maintaining that the Federal Government sought to prosecute him for actively participating in MASSOB-organized protests in Nigeria and abroad.

One of these was the infamous disruption of the Heart of Africa conference at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster on November 20, 2006 – with eight government ministers including Frank Nweke Jr., in attendance – by six protesters including him (and Kanu, who an unconfirmed report places on the scene). Consequently, Mefor was almost deported on March 1, 2007, with the Home Office reversing its decision only an hour before he was to fly back to Nigeria.

Vox populi, vox dei?

Long before Ojukwu announced the secession of the breakaway republic, Radio biafra was already operating in the ‘60s and it merely consolidated its position as the voice of the underdog during the war that followed.

Kanu resurrected it first in 2009, broadcasting for six months before going off air, after funding problems. It returned in 2012, evolving into a well-oiled machinery and is the strongest arm of the IPOB. The station has an app with versions for every major platform – Windows, iOS and Android. For Symbian and Blackberry users, there is the Tune-In app.

There are terrestrial radio frequencies, with at least one peculiar to each major city in the South East. Kanu supervises the recording of all the songs being played on the radio, with him singing parts, including the aforementioned cover of Jay Z’s song. The Federal Government jammed the signals frequently but in what reinforces the famed resilience of the Igbos, the station has appeared on the radar almost immediately after, with new frequencies.

“Our technology is superior to that of the zoo”, Kanu wrote on Facebook, mocking a police chief who admitted in an interview that the law enforcement agency does not have the ability to jam its signals.

On social media, it also has strength in numbers; an excess of 112, 000 fans on Facebook – the social network for the demography that most of the agitators belong to – for its page and over 600,000 more in a closed group ‘Radio biafra London’. The number of people at each of the serial protests across the Eastern region and the calls by believers in his ideology from places as far-flung as Vietnam and Czech Republic also prove that on ground or in the cloud, one man from faraway London has successfully sired a mega-movement.

“First the reggae, then the blues…”

To do this, stepping on a few toes was necessary; the means to a ‘justifiable’ end. In a July 2013 rant on Facebook, he pointed accusing fingers at Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, leader of MASSOB, claiming the latter masterminded his kidnap and beating on the 19th of December 2009, for calling out the older man as a traitor.

“In your stupidity, you made a video tape of the whole torture and kidnapping in the hope of using it to blackmail me into silence. You threatened to release the video if I criticized MASSOB criminal activities again. You have sowed the wind, now you will reap the whirlwind”, he threatens.

A war of words followed in the comments section between supporters of both men in the virtual manifestation of the battle for superiority that both men have been long enmeshed in.

The ‘kidnap’ was actually payback for Kanu hijacking the structure of Radio biafra from Uwazuruike who provided the initial funds for its setup in 2009. The station’s pioneering crew included Uwazuruike and a few others including Mefor, one Taboh Umeh, Chukwuma Egemba and Kingsley, Kanu’s brother.

Umeh and Kanu were the presenters on the radio until the latter began broadcasting hate messages against MASSOB and accusing his erstwhile mentor of being a tool of national politicians and using the biafra struggle for financial gains. The older man withdrew financial support and the station closed temporarily, reopening in 2012 with Kanu fully in charge with only his brother and Egemba – both on the sidelines – sticking with him.

Uwazuruike’s own supporters, who have always accused Kanu of being a usurper seeking fame and fortune, have since turned on their idol. In December 2015, he was expelled from MASSOB by a splinter group within its ranks for the misappropriation of over N100m realized from the sales of the fictitious Biafran passport. For years, rumours of his floating a selfish political agenda have continued unabated. It is a path that Kanu seems likely to follow.

The Federal Government’s shoddy handling of the issue has been blamed for the escalation of the situation and an increased sympathy for the protagonist. In a media chat on December 30, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari defended the detention of Kanu without trial, saying” ”If you see the atrocities these people committed against this country, we can’t allow them to jump bail.” His government has since kept Kanu in detention despite a court ruling to the contrary. More than a week earlier, members of the Joint Task Force (JTF), the coalition of the army and police shot dead four protesters who were jubilating after the court ruling.

“The government’s attitude is to throw them a bone to lick and assume that they will go back to their regular businesses soon enough when they tire” says the ESUT lecturer. “The whole scheme is to arrogate political power to himself at some point and since the Nigerian government is handling this badly, he will get it sooner or later. Kanu’s ambition is hard to disguise.”

‘Cash and carry’

Both radio and TV (incorporated as biafra Television Limited in December 2013) are registered under the address 30 Sandlings Close, Pilkington Road, London SE15 3SY GB.[EE1] The Biafran embassy in spain, located at 16 Calle Peru, 01012 Victoria spain seems to be an IPOB office annex. As the only directors of the company, he and Mefor are the only legal beneficiaries of its profits and donations.

BTL is exempt from taxation as its financial statements for 2013 and 2014 – obtainable online – show, because it was registered as a nonprofit and is dormant.

The sponsors of the station are not publicly known but donations pour in steadily from across all corners of the globe, from unnamed rich Igbo businessmen at home and in Diaspora. It has been speculated in some quarters that it enjoys the backing of influential Southern politicians including former President Goodluck Jonathan, in the event of the statesman’s loss at the 2015 polls.

“It is disingenuous to say biafra agitation is as a result of Buhari’s victory. It was under GEJ that biafra agitators attacked Government House, Enugu”, the journalist Cheta Nwanze points out.

“I don’t know if any politician is sponsoring him”, admits Okeke “but it can’t be Jonathan. The low turnout of people in the East during the polls is attributed to Director’s instruction to Igbos not to vote ‘in the zoo’. If it was Jonathan that was behind this, Kanu would have asked them to turn out en masse, especially as Father Mbaka was supporting Buhari and talking nonsense.”

For one with an apparent apathy for partisanship, political power may not be the inspiration – or perhaps not the only one – for Kanu.

While the going was good, pretty Chioma Amarrylis Ahaghotu, a Maryland-based clothier was PR coordinator for Radio biafra and one of Kanu’s trusted lieutenants, even dating him for a short period. During that time, she posted pictorial evidence of both of them all over Facebook and throwing subliminals at his ex, an unknown white woman. Naturally, they have all been deleted.

In October 2015, she declared sensationally in an interview that went viral, that he was using funding for the organization to fund his ‘playboy lifestyle’ and lying about the existence of an underground ‘Biafran army’ in the heart of Igboland, for which he was seeking $8m to revitalize.

Miss Ahaghotu refused to talk to this reporter on the actualization of biafra, the possibility of the organization being a front for money laundering and more. “I have said all [that] needed to be said on the matter and will not add unto it”, she responded with a note of finality, to a Facebook message.

Her enforced silence may have been because Kanu’s horde of followers unsurprisingly attacked her on the Internet, accusing her of being on drugs and acting like a true gold-digger. In the comments section of YouTube, one Ogbu Chukwu in an inspired act of unbridled philosophy, urged her to cover her shame saying “We don’t give a damn about your gossip; go and pick your pant where you shower.”

It may also be because Ahaghotu knows him in and out, even literally.

For IPOB faithful like Emeka Gift, a volunteer with the radio, biafra is a dream edging closer to reality everyday. “biafra has a spiritual undertone; many will not understand what is going on”, he stresses. “The Nigerian government is just wasting their time because biafra is an ideology whose time has come.”

Not even narratives by government or former colleagues can sway their perception of their leader if it turns out that his mission is one of self-aggrandizement.

“Our minds have been made up and the illegal detention of Nnamdi Kanu has motivated us more”, says Gift, with a note of finality. “Death cannot stop us. We are hated so much in Nigeria, and it is time for us to go home.”

They can include Lagos in their proposed biafra since Igbos form 60% of the population and own 70% of the economy of Lagos.

toolovely:

Amarabae, there's no single embassy in the east to go there to protest. atleast, for now, they are not asking for Lagos to join biafra.

IPOB are protesting in USA, LONDON, GERMANY, spain and other countries all over the world, does that mean they are looking for trouble in their host countries?
it should be a yorubas problem only when they are including Lagos in their propose biafra.

Igbos need a voice to fight marginalized but I don't want a voice that will end up attracting huge enemity for the Igbos.
Protesting in Lagos is looking for Yoruba trouble and attracting backlash to the law abiding Igbos doing business and living in Lagos.
Kanu goofed on this one. He is turning into an arrogant man.
Lack of diplomacy is one of the key problems in Problem.

Some agitators have however advise the leadership of IPOB to excercise caution in dealing with the Biafran struggle so as not to jeopardize the restoration by acts that will be viewed as treasonable and detrimental to the struggle.

In another light, the supporters of this move, informed our reporters that Nigeria as a nation from historical perspective do not listen to peaceful agitators or rights activists, therefore it is imperative that all measures that will confirm to the Nigerian goverment that biafra is here is welcomed.

As you call it hall like wise Nigeria embassy is a hall too their is no difference.
Nigeria have Ambassador, who is biafra ambassador to spain and who is spain ambassador to biafra?
Politics / Why We Set Up Biafra Embassy In Spain - IPOB by kennysbst(m): 5:30pm On Feb 25, 2017
The Indigenous People of biafra (IPOB) has said that the reason it chose to open a first substantive mission, which it termed embassy in Vitoria spain, was due to of the country’s rich knowledge and history of fighting for freedom. The group noted that it chose a country like the Basque region because they would not betray biafra like others did in the past. Head, Directorate of State (DOS) of IPOB Mr. Uchenna Asiegbu said that the group took certain things into consideration in setting up mission based on their core values, respect and protection of freedom and was guided by the history due to bitter lessons learnt in the struggle for biafra. Recently, a video of the biafra embassy in spain was posted on Facebook. The group is seeking an independent state for the southeast and adjoining areas. In the video, Uchenna Asiegbu, is seen taking a guest on a tour of the facility. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the group and director of Radio biafra, has been facing charges of treason, and has been in detention since 2015. Kanu, who is regarded as the President of the “Republic of biafra”, initiated the idea of planting “embassies” across the world. The late Odimegwu Ojukwu, a retired army officer and revered Igbo leader, declared the old eastern region, comprising the southeast and the south south, the Republic of biafra in May 1967 after a massacre of the Igbo in the north. The Nigeria government under Gen. Yakubu Gowon thereafter declared war on the new republic, which fell in January 1970 when Biafran forces surrendered. History spain spain Tour Guide According to Asiegbu, “At IPOB, we are very methodical and cautious in all we do because we are guided by our history. We must not forget the bitter lessons of the past because biafra, despite being a predominantly Christian enclave, was abandoned by almost every major Christian country in the world. “They preferred to work with Islamic Northern Nigeria to entrench caliphate hegemony. This is a bitter lesson that will always guide our activities going forward. It is inconceivable that Saudi Arabia will support a set of Christians against Muslims regardless of the circumstance. “Our Mission in spain was opened in 2014 by our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with members of the Directorate of State from all over the world present. It’s primary purpose is to serve as the world administrative headquarters of IPOB. “As you know IPOB is the largest movement of its kind anywhere in the world today, therefore we have our leadership scattered across every continent. Having our administrative head office in a place like the Basque country is also logistically sensible.” While speaking on plans to open new embassies in some other major countries, the biafra Director said “It is on record that the Government of spain has given us permission to kick-start our global biafra Genocide Awareness exhibition in Vitoria Basque country, spain. Their police will be there to protect us, and their media to report the event. “We can also confirm that the Indian Government has giving us approval to open another mission in the subcontinent. Our strategy of quiet expansionism will take us to every part of the world. As soon as preparations are finalised, we shall invite world media to attend the opening, if they can overcome their bias by then. “As you know, British hostility towards biafra is well documented but we are encouraged by the fact that our broadcasting studios are still stationed in London where we have not encountered any difficulties till date. We hope to open a regional office there in the not too distant future. “United States is key in our determination to be located in every country of the world to counter the lies of the Nigerian government. One of the areas we failed during the war of 1967-70 is that we lacked adequate presence abroad. Having identified this need, our leader quickly put in place a mechanism for the establishment of missions and offices around the world. “We have a small office in Inglewood area of Los Angeles California which we hope to expand in the near future. Very soon we will announce the opening of our main office of the head of mission in Washington United States. All hands are on deck to achieve this. “We evaluate the criteria of opening an embassy in a country based on their core values, respect and protection of freedom. How they view the issue of the rights of Indigenous people is also a determining factor.” Credit: The post 'Why we set up biafra embassy in spain' was syndicated from Saturday Sun

The Indigenous People of biafra, IPOB, has given reasons why it chose to open its first embassy in spain.

IPOB said it was due to the country’s rich knowledge and history of fighting for freedom.

My young friend, It is simply an operational side office in the basque region of spain in victoria! The basque region has been fighting to also secede from spain for decades so maybe you should ask them how far with their own hustle!

That is the only reason why this rented office could be given permission to function there! The office, or its visas or applications are not recognized by the spanish govt. or its people so Keep calm.....

The o.p was trying to paint it in a grander light! grin
you are not getting it, in as much as I support the restoration of biafra, there is no country in this world known as biafra right now, that is why we are fighting for her restoration, so that there will be a country called biafra. We just called it an embassy for just for calling, it is not really an embassy for now, it is where a lot of the plannings, finance and other things are done. They DO NOT ISSUE ANY VISA TO ANYWHERE. So don't spill your saliva, for the moment there is no country called biafra, no Biafran passport. People who patronize Uwazurike and massob are just in the minority who for one reason or the other refuse to listen to Radio biafra. There Nnamdi Kanu and Uche Mefor and have hammerd on this point times without number, biafra is big so whatever You take to the market, some people will buy.

are you for real? With the effort of one man, you still don't see this as a big achievement? You're unbecoming. Pls show us Nigeria embassy in India?

Person open shop for spain, you dey call am embassy. How can you be so easily deceived? I'm one of the rare Yoruba people who wants Igbos to have their biafra so they can let the rest of us hear word but, come on! How can biafra, which isn't a sovereign country, that hasn't been recognised by any country, that doesn't have a seat at the UN have an embassy?

Let me ask you some questions, what are the functions of this embassy? who is the ambassador?

Don't believe every cheap lie you read over the internet, make some research first. That's why I don't even fall for the cheap propaganda of this government because I make my own research.

I have scoured the whole of the internet and I've seen that it's the same pictures of this "embassy" that's all over. All of them posted on 6th of March, 2015.

Pls pls pls, don't let these people use your head to play football. you have the internet, use it.
