Business / How Does Barry Callebaut Source It's Cocoa Beans In Nigeria? by SeaTrade(m): 12:15am On Sep 03, 2023
So like the topic implies, how does Barry Callerbaut, the Swiss cocoa giant sources its cocoa in Nigeria?
Is there anyone here that understands the entire steps and supply chain?
Will love to get a detailed breakdown of how this works.
Cc emmanuelewumi, ahiboilandgas, emmaodet jedisco,etc...throw more light if you can.
Also,seun, nlfpmod, mynd44,Dominique.
This is front page material in my opinion as it'll give youths an insight into how they can key into the cocoa value chain.
Let's discuss,
No insults and any tribal bs here please, jobless clowns should stay off!

For me,no.
I'm in the nightlife business but I see no point flying up and down in the night like some of my pals are doing ,or looking like an armed robber in the name of looking the part.
I maintain a clean look(shirt, trouser and sometimes casuals),make only worthy clearcut vision friends and not keeping unserious people in my contact list in the name of cartel.
I've got better dreams than where I currently am so I don't let the shenanigans in this business disrupt my objectives.

Racoon:
I still remember this disaster. I was in the University then. It was a news the world watched in horror. It is understandable that air disasters are always catastrophic and fatal.

What a terrible end for the doomed passengers watching themselves helplessly to their own deaths because of pilots errors. Worst is the pilot should have listened to his first Officer and abort the takeoff.

A Concorde that never had any fatality over 20 years of its beautiful existence suddenly had one! And that kill the future prospect & advancement of aviation science in that line. What a sad end for the Concorde.

Abeg let the indomie generation here learn history and the future pilots to be learn a thing or two so that lives will be preserved.
You can't abort takeoff after V1(rotation speed),it's suicide!

It's not a Nigerian women problem ,rather Nigerian men think the only way to gain a woman's attention is by giving and spending endlessly due to low self esteem which in turn spoiled their women and made them very entitled.
Omo ,personally I'm not in the habit of giving women money oo,unless we've known and dated for a while and we see each other as one.

Greystone:
It’s a good move by CBN.
The +2.5% allows for a decent profit margin and the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports force transparency from the BDCs. This will increase forex flow and help protect the Naira from the speculative and destructive forex trading we’ve witnessed.
The excess liquidity in the parallel market has been our biggest problem.
There's no excess liquidity in the parallel market,
The only reason it has been hiking prices is simply due to speculation and speculative, unrealistic demands.
Watch as just $1B will mop up all liquidity in that market and have them begging to sell their fx,even at prices lower than what's obtainable at the I&E window.
Personally if I was in power,I'll ban every form of street trading of fx and remove all independent players.
Currency no be moi moi to hawk.

Romance / Re: Your Reasons For Asking Forgiveness When Caught Cheating? by SeaTrade(m): 1:45pm On Aug 03, 2023
Greed is part of human nature. We want it all, both men and women.
The only reason for the apology is that he/she was careless enough for you to find out.
I've always told my guys one thing;
Keep an open mind to cheating because there's a 90% chance that your woman must cheat on you throughout the course of your togetherness,be it in courtship or matrimony. The only reason why a lot of marriages and relationships are still ongoing and waxing strong is IGNORANCE.
If people were opportuned to see beyond the deceit and pretense, the divorce law industry will out-earn even the manufacturing sector.
How you can power out of this is by picking a mate that will FEAR you and wouldn't want to lose what they can access by virtue of associating with you, else you're on your own and exposed to this risk.
And as for you guys doing equality and modern marriage,na una go first collect from this pandemic.
So naive for you to think that woman you're doing equality with, that goes to her job everyday, meet all and sundry and even go on work trips where a lot can happen always come back home as she left grin grin
Start entertaining the idea so that you no go kpai when you see wetin you cause, unless you marry wowo wife that no one wants sha, then you're safe.
Then the group of men I pity most na the ones weh their wives be breadwinner grin grin
This set fit carry man come house and you no fit talk.

Romance / Re: Dating Older Women VS Dating Young Girls by SeaTrade(m): 12:57pm On Aug 03, 2023
I'd say you can date anyone irrespective of age.
There's some perks that comes with women in some certain age bracket(30+) like:
Well poised, eloquent, well exposed and have a good head above their shoulders.
Better dress sense and overall hygiene.
Better circles of operation and cliques.
Can take care of themselves and a lot of them might be richer than the average joe and unapproachable to them, reason most guys are screaming here.
Clearcut path etc...
Demerits:
There's somethings that money and a good life can't hide or change,like;
Sex is mostly wack and devoid of truth, pretence choke and borehole dey sure except in rare cases.
Ageing .You start seeing horrible things on their bodies like varicose on green vein on their thighs, saggy skin and oh the boobs are definitely gone.
Baggage ,like a barrage of exes and carryover multiple personas out of different wicked experiences .
Loss of innocence and femininity, that genuine feminine feeling of your woman looking up to you?forget it!Unless you dey play at BOSS LEVEL.
Strong will and more prone to cheating.etc...
Will I marry an older woman?NO.But they're not totally bad, especially as they can be used as stepping stones to progress for guys yet to find their feet.
But for made men?I'd personally advise younger girls,24 and below.

bro I feel you. over here you spend thousand of dollars in loans, grants and help just to get multi-engine CPL + 1500 hours only for you to receive paltry $4k per month (excluding tax). A friend of mine after all the hustle managed to get a DHL air delivery job, only for this nigger to die in a plane crash. I just weak. Truck drivers earn more in the short-run than pilots. The worst is even the Helicopter pilot... I'd rather die than become a heli-pilot
DHL and cargo pilots generally don't earn well.
Your friend can switch to commercial aviation and enjoy big bucks.
And Heli pilots earn well too.

How can a parent allow his or her children to become pilots and some people see it as something worthy of celebration in this age and era?

How is being a pilot, one of the most dangerous and awful job in the world be a center of celebration?

Pilots and cabin crew members that I always pity whenever I am getting off a flight? Na wa oh

This is complete foolishness typical of most Nigerians who celebrate stupidity as greatness, ire oh.

For the uninformed people that may not know, I have one or two pilot friends, and take it from me, that job is not a good job. Yes they earn supposedly high income due to risk involved, but do you know that most male pilots are highly promiscuous out of fear? They drink and womanize to kill their fear of a life of uncertainty.

They drink a lot just to try to forget the fears ahead.

Pilot no be better job like most kids use to envisage while growing up, I was one of them until I became old enough and started flying and had pilot friends, then I realized how awful that job is, please don't envy pilots, pray for them.
Aviation has gotten really safe over the years with so much automation and safety nets,
And if you fly for a good airline with great maintenance culture, the chances of crashing throughout your career will be infinitesimal.
It's a noble, well respected and high paying job.
Will I do it?NO.
But it's worthy of praise and the training ain't cheap too, maybe that's why people respect it.

So far the price remains fixed at 511 then they are just smuggling for nothing
Naira is weak at the moment,so that 511 is like 450cfa.
So you see there's still a lot of difference with their home prices ,hence the smuggling.
Everything isn't black and white.
Just that some big players who've already made money from the activity might decide to quit since to them, the margins no longer equals the risk.

Normally Oil companies and Telcos do sell FX to banks or to the CBN. That is why they also have treasury departments. The trading was stopped this year because the country had not FX and to prevent the banks from recording losses in treasury trading it had to be suspended. The poster is just trying to be mischievious and to prey on those who are not financially savvy or understand Banking.
To make it look like there's one big move CBN is making to improve supply or stability.

I don't think they are selling back, just buying because on their fx board, price was displayed for buying while selling was blank

Negotiation things,
Roadmen pattern.
It's impossible to buy and not sell chief, not in this volatility rate.
They're buying and selling and targeting dom accounts is a less competitive way to acquire stock(fx) to sell.

I think what gtbank is doing will help if other banks key into it.
They buy off your dollars from your domiciliary account at black market rate and credit your naira account thereby generating needed forex for the government to use for those sourcing dollars from the I and E window, BTA/PTA etc.
There is enormous money coming into this country but which the govt/CBN are not capturing because most transactions are done in the black market.
Seem they have liquidity and customer base crisis, reason they're doing that in the first place.
And with limited liquidity, they can't access so much from I and E window which in turn makes their effort futile.
Whoever has the most volume/capacity in a free market controls pricing.
Also they're not generating fx for the government, they're just buying close to black market rates from your dom account so they can resell and make PROFITS.
Another sign they're having issues cos organisations doing well will not go this route, rather battling it out from the source with big players.

the CBN gov is doing exactly the right thing to do...

the economy needs the injection of Fx..nd since Nigerians cant import Fx cuz they have close to no foreign businesses...the oil coys shld..

but leme ask..why would the oil coys inject FX into the economy to exchange for depteciating naira instead of increase capital flight...

the oil coys wont heed the CBN enticement since its moral suasion and not an order
I thought of this too and could only come up with one answer.
Expenses money for their operations...Paying local staff ,fueling the vehicles, logistics, paying egunje to communities,etc...Naira for their local needs.
This volume is insignificant and will do little to nothing on naira pricing in that segment of the fx market.

That is why women need to make themselves valuable. Like someone said ,a woman with a Ph.D or M.sc degree, a medical doctor, a financial expert etc, won't ever condone such because they are of immense value to their partners. They are not to be toyed with.

Chioma has nothing to offer any man except sex. And sex is cheap.

Na person weh get plethora of lawyers, financial advisers, analysts and media experts on his team woman with PhD want add value to?
There's a level you get to in life and there's no value you need from a woman again,no single one.Just be able to cater for a home and bear children, that's all...Looking for a woman that has something to "offer" na for poor men grin

So I was in lagos a while back and where I stayed was a hotel that houses a social club for ballers and big boys in that area and beyond.
While looking for the rooftop poolside I mistakenly went to the social club thinking that's where the poolside was.
So I was met by the social club receptionist and also bumped into one guy I know for a while now.
So after we greeted,he started telling me about this social club and its benefits.
First,to register as a member,it costs N10m.
He claims it'll connect me to the big leagues and before I know I'm getting contracts and connections that'll change My perspective, and also social functions that'll put me on first name bases with the creme de la creme of Lagos and mentioned Some big names who were members.
As tempting as it sounds, omo dem no dey tell person.

I need an advice from you based on your beverage experience. Between yoghurt production vs energy drinks production, which one is easier to market or sell and break even fast in Nigeria?

I once ventured into NAFDAC approved natural fruit juice production but the sales was so poor simply because an average nigerians can't even differentiate juice from flavour drinks. Also many can't afford the price of 50cl juice as flavour drinks were cheaper in price. I have closed the factory for now hoping to try either yoghurt or energy drinks production.
Energy drink market will be better for you,
Cheap pet bottle ones oo like fearless and Co,
Wider market base than yoghurt.
Downside is its very competitive and your rivals are industry giants.
Fearless,reaktor and Co...
Yoghurt market isn't that competitive but the volume isn't as big.In essence its a limited market that performs only in the modern trade space(supermarket) as everyday Nigerians don't have such a great Yoghurt culture .
Unless you want to do sachet Yoghurt then you've got opportunity here as you can have all these street vendors and hawkers as clientele that will in turn retail to consumers on the street for immediate consumption.
You'd even have wholesalers sef that'd buy bulk so they can retail to some of these people you can't reach directly.

Hotel have lobbies for this reason .
See ehn,I always tell all my guys, learn to open your mind to the possibility of your wife cheating on you atleast once throughout the course of your marriage,if you ever intend to marry.
I've been opportune to role with some women in friendly gatherings and the things they say when they're with some of us they're comfortable with will shock you.
Put yourself first and don't make some insane sacrifices for anybody, neither should you trust all out like a naive person, including your WIFE!!!
Some men today with HIV got it from their wives, but because of their philandering ,they always think it came from them.
Women hardly cheat with condoms, they're always easy to tell you raw or some bs condom irritation story.
I always tell the girl I'm dating that if I should ever catch anything from her in the name of cheating,I'd put a 45 to her head and squeeze the trigger and anyone who tries to come to her defense will meet the same fate.
Sleep around all you want,I no send you,no just give me disease.
Ignorance is the only reason why many people are still married today,if them open their eyes, them go run.
