3: He was into importing... bla bla bla... If you are looking for importers, you go to Alaba international market or onitcha main market. Those guys run very thin margins that even though they can be called rich, very rarely are they called billionaires.

Since 2024, no one has been able to give a satisfactory answer, so I am hoping that you will be able to.

A sole national distributor and import partner for an fmcg range such as HEINZ for years that sold like wild fire is enough to make a person a dollar billionaire.
He wasn't the everyday subsistence importer that goes to China with N50m and bring what everyone else is.
Monopolies exist to separate such classes.
There are a lot of people like him you don't know,you can't know every rich person because not everyone enjoys being in the limelight,nor their businesses require them to be.
By the way ,what business does someone who owns the sole import and national distribution rights for a fast selling brand have with thin margins?

Nigeria's large heart is the reason for the rot.
Let me tell you what I'd have done:
1)I'd not subsidise any form of energy,electricity,gas,diesel ,etc from the get go.
You want energy?you pay!

2) There's hardly a country in Africa that has built as much roads as Nigeria,however because everyone was allowed to run amock in the name of hustle,it bastardised all the roads that were built.
I'd introduce a weigh system across all highways and whoever exceeds their given load capacity pays an instant fine to the government.This money will be used for road maintenance.

There's emergency services,however people just can't afford them because they can't even buy proper health insurance for themselves, let alone pay for such services.Same like in the US amongst poor neighborhoods.

There are other factors that could make petrol more expensive in other african countries which Nigeria might have figured out.
Logistics,taxes,capacity,etc....They can alter selling price even though cost of Purchase/production is similar.

Her name was Timi.
She dragged me out of the house where I was depressed and All,took me out to the mall where I bumped into an old partner.The rest is history.

That car died when I let charlatans touch it honestly.
Looking to get an L200 and rest and retire that ole miss,e don too chop my funds.

So I just got this truck as man's getting older and practical and I'm loving it,maybe early excitement though,I don't know.
Things I noticed:
This thing burns a lot of gas,I mean a lot!15.5-15.6L/100km na em dey for dash steady ,used to be 14.3L/100km,don't know why it jumped.

Hard steering ,maybe because it's coming from someone that have been driving sedans for a while now and some CUVs.

Large turning space and poor manoeuvrability,Hilux no follow you manage space oo,you go reverse tire.

Sturdy suspension,you no dey feel anything.

Slow truck,crawls its way up to 170kph and stays there,sucks!

And I get free service for 20,000km or one year whichever comes first from the dealership at no cost.

Car came at 677km

Expensive purchase no doubt but worth it.

Even people who are not working in this country are paying heavy indirect taxes, like bus fare hike because of agbero, high tariff rates of MTN and others because of taxes, high cost of food because of taxes, overcharging for services by banks because of high demands from the government. There's no country without indirect taxes,they also pay council tax and bank levies in the West,even VAT on telecoms.
Whether you pay indirect taxes doesn't exempt you from tax liabilities at the federal /national level.
