I personally don't think Infinix would market the Hot S3 like the Note 5 pro. They are just not in the same build quality class, size, display, processor and ultimately price. Hot S3 is good for the price and so is Note 5 Pro. I don't think anybody should even be looking at the regular note 5 tbh. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy A8(2018) is upper mid-range, definitely not the best value for the price they set it as. OnePlus got that market locked down!

you're forgetting one key point:marketing
infinix has a better market here in nigeria,xiaomi is yet to break into the nigerian mobile market.infact an average nigerian doesn't know of the xiaomi brand much.
as for price:$199.98==>>Hot S3 ,$220-260===>Note 5 Pro,i looked both up @ flipkart before dropping my opinion yesterday unlike a bunch of these guys coming at me with empty contents.
Also there are specs on the Hot S3 that the Note 5 pro isn't packed with and likewise!

Would pick the Samsung note 8 if I were in your shoes. It offers so much and more. Yeah the LGV30 looks cool on paper but something about that brand doesn't sits well with me. At the end of the day,the cash and choice is yours.

I can assure you the mate 10 won't be different. Mobile tech is almost at its peak until something groundbreaking is discovered. Whatever they are trying to market, be it Amoled display, HRD support on 4k screen, 50mp camera with aperture size of 1.2, 12gig ram, gorilla glass 7, 18:9 aspect ratio, dual or tetra rear camera( madness), 8000mah battery in a 5mm thick body, etc, are all meant for profit making even though they mean little or nothing to you. In the end, the question is do you really need all these? Just get a device that works well for you and relax, because what you even seek for now will be outdated in just a few months.

True.... maybe I'll be ready to splash my savings on mobile tech if Video calling is replaced with hologram calling... sounds innovative enough for them to tryout or something extraordinary shakes the tech world

Iphone X tho,$1499 tax incl for the 256GB variant like what the hell... I think I'll go for mi mix 2 if it's camera features OIS, screen is scratch and dust plus device is water resistant... supports LTE band for 9mobile/MTN.... and the piezoelectric bullshit from Mi mix doesn't repeat itself... if it supports VR apps as well

After much anticipation on the mi mix 2,my dissatisfaction was at it's height.
the rumoured design which caught my attention wasn't what dropped on the table at the end..too much downgrade on a sides.
i was even eager to fork out over €700 on this device.being a Samsung Fanboy,i was ready to ditched samsung for xiaomi
Mi mix 2 ....SMH xiaomi

Iphone X......over €1000, innovation died alongside Steve jobs, nothing enticing about the device
Samsung Note8 about €1000,more like S8+ super edition
Xiaomi mi mix 2.... couldn't woo me at last
LG V30...LOL, Google should just buy this company already
Huawei Mate10.... don't know much about this product line
