Logicboy03: Who knows......a new moniker called "humanist" can complete the trinity?LMAO! Good thinking! |
Logicboy03: You just keep embarrassing yourself.Interesting. This must be like the trinity, he is logic boy and i am logic boy even though i am not logic boy, HEY! Where is the third same but different guy to complete the trio?? |
Ihedinobi: Pardon me. Your thread is just irresistible. You see, I've been looking for that thing that makes you atheists einsteins for a while now. I still haven't found it!Please NAH! Oya am a slave, i have chains on and all, u happy now? Just leave this thread. If you are fascinated by atheist perhaps you should become one instead of chastising. I could send you Dawkin's book if you want. Send me your email and i'd send it to you now. You can keep yourself occupied with that for the time being. If you only want to constitute a nuisance and wonder why we are smarter than you then google it, your answers are there. Please bro, go away before our intelligence on important matters confuse you. |
You guys are cracking me up. Since your god is so powerful why dont you let him fight for you? Pray and tell your god to strike me with thunder, till then let my thread be abeg. I have no qualms with you, you are simply a by product of indoctrination and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about it. Okay, I am kidding. Your way is the truth and the light, i don hear, please leave now. When was it by force to discuss with religious people, i wonder how long before you guys start preaching to us with a koran or bible in hand and a machete in another...wait, i forget, that was how your religions became popular. Please i only want to converse with like minds, you can go now and save yourselves from being enlightened. |
Seriously mates, if you dont belong here leave. I don't want to derail this thread by saying anything negative to you. This thread is for people who can question religion and have evolved. The Majority did not make the earth flat with all their hateful bashing of the truth. History will almost always repeat itself. |
Ihedinobi: Lol. What makes yours higher intelligence and your spirit liberal? Being atheistic? TeheheheheDude, go and sing hallelujah or something, this thread is beyond you. |
Hehehehe Please O! I was very clear in my topic header, i dont want any christian or islamist person bringing anything to the table, this discussion is light years beyond you O. I am impressed by the people picking 7. But i think the uncertainty principle is also my defense for not believing in absolutes. But one thing is for sure, i am an atheist by choice of reason. I believe every black person has a moral right to refuse religion of any sort, one must not be too quick to forget how it was used as a justification tool for slavery. I am not one to hate on any color of person, but it seems crazy that one even when "free" would still choose to follow in his slave master's religion even when the slave masters are rejecting it. Britain probably has the highest number of atheists and agnostics in the world right now. |
The burden of proof would always be on the religious. What if i told you that there was a flying spaghetti monster in the sky that no one can see but can see everyone, how do you proof he does not exist? We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart -H. L. Mencken |
aManFromMars: 7. The truth is 4-7 require evidence. They're not all that different.Didn't see it that way. I feel 4 to 5 is unsure. While 6 is unsure but gives a small room for doubt. While 7 is straight up no room and absolutes, which i tend towards often. I fluctuate between 6 and 7 actually. I feel more 7 today. |
Man from Mars. Straight up no BS with you. I like that. |
Word! I dont believe in absolutes also, but i find it hard to impossible to believe in a God who created man and caused him to war with each other and blame it on his other creation, the devil. I find such a god malevolent and non deserving of any kind of adoration or worship. I am not a 7 based on my lack of belief in absolutes, but in my case it would not matter if such a god existed or not, my mind is set on my idea of him. |
I know there are a lot of people here who have questioned the many BS they have seen in religious institutions but are yet afraid of being chastised by lesser minds on a fact that is so obvious it should not warrant the ill will it gets. If you are scared because people may then know you in that light then i encourage you to create another account to enable you discuss freely. I believe strongly that the future of this country belongs to the sane of mind, people like us. Only people like us can truly make a difference in the world. Dont be afraid mates, your higher intelligence and liberal spirit is the only thing that can can change this country for good. |
david_hume: Pls, proceed...Sure. Which number from 1-7 are you on the scale? |
So firstly i want to throw a question out there to the house. According to Dawkin's there are 7 classes of persons by basis of religion, and they are classified along this lines.. 1 Strong theist. 100 per cent probability of God. In the words of C. G. Jung, 'I do not believe, I know.' 2 Very high probability but short of 100 per cent. De facto theist. 'I cannot know for certain, but I strongly believein God and live my life on the assumption that he isthere.' 3 Higher than 50 per cent but not very high. Technically agnostic but leaning towards theism. 'I am very uncertain, but I am inclined to believe in God.' 4 Exactly 50 per cent. Completely impartial agnostic. 'God's existence and non-existence are exactly equiprobable.' 5 Lower than 50 per cent but not very low. Technically agnostic but leaning towards atheism. 'I don't know whether God exists but I'm inclined to be sceptical.' 6 Very low probability, but short of zero. De facto atheist. 'I cannot know for certain but I think God is very improbable, and I live my life on the assumption that he is not there.' 7 Strong atheist. 'I know there is no God, with the same conviction as Jung "knows" there is one.' Which number strongly represents you? As for me i think i am 6 leaning on 7, call me a 6.5. |
Hello y'all. So i just begun reading this book by Richard Dawkins, and i am eager to discuss the content with enlightened minds. |
