EducationInitiative Set Up By UI Students Shortlisted for Total-campus Grants by sedulousQueen(op):
A group of postgraduate students of the Centre for Petroleum Energy Economics and Law, University of Ibadan set up an initiative called Project Reward Excellence (PRE) to empower outstanding students in off-grid communities and urban slums in Nigeria with solar reading lamps.
These are communities who do not have access to the national grid or electricity, thereby making it difficult for students to study.

The group’s first outing in July this year; was to schools in Ajegunle community (Lagos State) and subsequent visit to other off-grid rural communities to create awareness of clean and safe energy resources and use.
The high point of the team’s visit to the schools was the presentation of solar-powered reading lamps to the best student in each class.

In the cause of extending this humanitarian gesture to other rural communities and slums in Nigeria, the team applied for the Total-campus grant and was shortlisted for the next stage which is the online voting process. To scale through the next stage of the selection process, it is therefore necessary to succeed in the voting stage.

The CPEELSA-PRE team is the only Nigerian team in the Outreach category and therefore needs the vote of Nigerians to win.

Hello sedulousQueen,

I'm considering a PhD in Management/Social Science too.

I had initially registered to take GRE Dec. 4, but I had to cancel it and re-register to take it June 2017.

Which country and school are you considering?
Hi manwonder,

Considering US, a PhD in Finance, as regards school - not concluded - still searching - on the look out for Profs with experience in Energy Finance/Risk.

Which country & course are you considering?
