*DESCRIPTION*

Greengo F1 has a deep green flesh color and features small white bumps on its surface.

This cucumber resembles more of the average cucumber you may see in a supermarket.

The Greengo F1 has an early maturity and is best grown in semi-tropical growing conditions. Just like any usual cucumber, the flesh is crispy and firm. It comes in the standard cucumber shape, but averages about 18-20cm in length with a 4-5cm diameter. This variety of cucumber seed has a strong vigor and a great taste.

*Why choose Greengo F1?*

There are many varieties of cucumber in Nigeria from different seed companies, some are good but one stands out due to the reason underlined below.

1. *Deep Greenish plum fruit*: Greengo f1 has one of the finest deep greenish colour of fruits you can find in Nigeria. Asides, it produces averagely equal sized fruits that are plum which enhances its package-ability.

2. *Dioecious*: Cucumber by nature is a monoecious crop but Greengo f1 is a dioecious. What this means is that it is similar to local papaya plant that has male and female flowers on different plant stands. In other words, out of ten plant stands, one could be male and the remaining nine, females.

Mostly in ration 10:1, the few male plants stands are expected to pollinate the very many female plant stands with the help of beneficiary insects/winds.

3. *Resistance to weather changes*: Cucumber plants often respond to day length, heat, time of the year etc. This changes in environment causes cucumber plants to mostly produce predominantly male flowers with few female flowers resulting to potentially poor yield.

Having an exclusive female plant stands from a diecious crops like Greengo F1 has solved this problem - A female plant would always be a female plant.

4. *High yield*: This is one of the benefits of planting only dioecious seeds. Since the ratio is mostly 10:1 in favour of predominantly female plants, you have potentially high yield every other thing being equal.

5. *Market sentiment*: The fresh veggies markets are predominantly disposed to deep greenish cucumber fruits especially in Southwest Nigeria. You have a better unit price from planting this type than the light greenish ones.

6. *Resistance to Downy Mildew*: This is perhaps the major threat in cucumber cultivation especially in raining season. There is no degree of preventive measures you can take to stem this infection if the variety in the first place does not have intermediate to high resistance to mildew.

Greengo f1 has a very strong resistance to mildew even without preventive measures (though not wise).

7. *Long shelf-life*: This cucumber variety can stay for a week without depreciating in colour or firmness. Only few varieties if any can equal this. This is perhaps an attraction to both retailers and consumers.

8. *Early maturity*: The first harvest is as early as five weeks and a half from planting.

Lastly, if you are still in doubt, just give it a trial and you would never cultivate other varieties of cucumber again in this class. Remember that in veggies farming, it is never a wise decision to always go for cheap seeds with cheap genes.

Grape � "Vitis vinifera"

1. *CHIVES*

The hardy, drought-tolerant perennial onion like herb takes 45 days to mature after which farmers harvest after every 20-25 days for up to three years.

An ordinary greenhouse measuring 240meters squared produces up to 150 kilos with a kilo . Tolerant to many diseases.

A culinary herb in the onion family (Allium Schrenoprasum).

It a perennial plant that matures 45 days after planting.In a greenhouse of 8*30 (240m)you achieve an average of 100kg per harvest.Can be harvested for three years from the maiden crop.

2. *BASIL*

A bushy annual plant, it germinates in 5-7 days and matures after 42 days of planting. Leaves can be harvested after every ten days.

A typical greenhouse measuring 8 by 30 meters produces on average 125 kilos of basil every week.

Basil (Ocium Basilicium) is a herb in the mint family.It has a strong sweet aroma making it ideal for seasoning food.

A versatile and widely used aromatic herb. It is an annual plant that is easy to grow from seed but very sensitive to cold thus does well in a greenhouse.

Maturity time is 42 days after planting and an average harvest of 125 kgs per harvest in a greenhouse of 8*30m(240m2).

3. *ROSEMARY*

The ever green versatile herb takes 14 to 21 days to germinate and can be harvested 100-120 days after planting. Rosemary plants can reach 2 m in height and can be productive for up to 30 years if conditions are favorable for its growth.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) is a perennial herb fragrant evergreen needle like leaves.Commonly used for seasoning food and has unique health benefits.

An outdoor crop that matures 4-6 weeks after transplant.Produces 500gms for every 1m2.

4. *OREGANO*

The perennial crop can be grown for 3–4 years, grows very vigorously and requires little care. Leaves begin to sprout two weeks after the previous harvest.

The seeds of Oregano germinate in soil in approximately 8 to 14 days, with the crop taking approximately one month to reach maturity.

Here the fertilizer is applied via the ground.At the base of the plant .Four holes are made about one foot from the tree then the mixed fertilizer is poured in each hole at the rate of 250mls of mixture in each hole.

*ROOT INFUSION METHOD OF DI GROW APPLICATION*

This is also used on plants whose roots are easily accessible. Here the fertilizer is put in a polythene bag and then the plants root is inserted in the polythene bag with the fertilizer solution. - suitable for very tall trees whose leaves are not accessible

*INJECTION METHOD OF DI GROW APPLICATION*

This is done on banana .Bananas are only injected through the pseudo stem.

*Procedure* :

Using an injection take 5ml of concentrated fertilizer. Press as though you are injecting with injection facing upward in order to remove any air.

*RATE* :
Apply 5ml of concentrated DI Grow green once every 30 days per banana stem before flowering.

Apply 5ml of concentrated DI Grow RED once every 30 days per banana stem during fruiting and flowering.

*DRILLING METHOD OF DI GROW APPLICATION*

This is done on huge trees. Here the stem of the tree is drilled and permanent PVC pipe is inserted.

The pipe is where DI Grow is applied .
injection of big trees by drilling - this is done on plants with hard large stems with 30cm diameter and above.

*SOAKING WITH DI GROW ORGANIC FERTILIZER*

(Seed, Stem,Suckers) All seeds can be soaked. Soaked seeds should be immediately planted. Stems like sugarcane, Cassava as well.

*SOAKING DURATION FOR SEEDS*

30 minutes for seeds with soft coat, e.g. Beans, Maize,Vegetables.
24 hours for seeds with hard coat, e.g. Rice.

Spray the mixed fertilizer evenly on the leaves, stem and root area. It can be applied to all kinds of plants whose leaves are easily accessible.
