MrAboki:Innosson will get there someday |
GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State said, yesterday, that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under President Goodluck Jonathan squandered the resources of the country and that of its members. While he pointed out that things had changed positively since the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari, he, however, asserted that “it will take time to clean up the mess of the past”. Oshiomhole stated this while receiving over 5,000 members of the PDP in the three senatorial districts of Edo including the immediate past Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Power, Patrick Ikhariale; Abbas Braimah; and Bisi Idaomi. The decampees were received into the party by Oshiomhole, assisted by some governorship aspirants of the APC, such as former Governor Osarhiemen Osunbor and Gen.Charles Airhiavbere, who had on several occasions urged the PDP leaders to forget pride and join Oshiomhole in moving the state forward. “For the first time, big people are being asked to account, in the past we only hear of governors, local government people, commissioners but this time we are seeing Minister of Finance confessing like a witch craft how they took money and even co-opt their children so they didn’t just share money for the party they shared for their families. When a Minister pays money into her own personal account, we have seen national security being redefined to meet the security of a political party to secure the party in office rather than secure the nation even in the face of a devastating insurgency”, the governor stated. |

Well, I think it's a good thing, maybe if this had been done in lagos, rivers state and other states during the past administration, maybe there wouldn't have been a #75m website or #138m boreholes right now. ... |

Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has said the surveillance helicopter purchased by his administration would soon be given the necessary assistance it requires by the Federal Government.According to a statement made available to our correspondent by the media aide, to the governor, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, on Saturday, the governor said this when the Police Community Relations Committee paid him a courtesy visit. The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr. Gboyega Famodun, had on June 22, accused the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan of frustrating the plan of the governor to put the chopper into use to assist security agencies in surveillance.Famodun said the FG-controlled Nigerian Communications Commission refused to provide the special code for the helicopter to be linked with ground equipment provided by the state government for surveillance. But Aregbesola said, “With the recent government at the centre, the helicopter we purchased for aerial surveillance will be in full operation with the issuance of the sort code needed for its operation.”Aregbesola also called on the police committee to treat the issue of cultism with seriousness, noting that cultism must not be allowed to grow in the state. He said, “I want all hands to be on the deck to make our state a no-go area for people with criminal intent. Despite our ranking as one of the least state with crime in the country, much still needs be done to get rid of the little criminals still hanging around the state.“We are among one of the states with the purchase of high numbers of equipment, we have armoured personnel carrier that can convey 20 armed policemen with surveillance camera and other security gadgets mounted on it.“We are conscious of the fact that without security, their can’t be a state, that’s why our administration is handling security with utmost importance.”The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Abubakar Marafa, lauded Aregbesola for providing operational vehicles and other equipment for the police in the state. The CP, who was represented by Mr. Tunde Showole, said with the numbers of vehicle and other equipment provided by the state government, the police does not have any excuse regarding operation vehicles. http://www.punchng.com/news/osun-surveillance-helicopter-to-launch-soon-aregbesola/ Do you think Ogbeni Aregbesola is mentally stable to govern osun state because the last time I checked, osun state was not borno state and even borno who needs this gadgets the most is not owing workers salaries http://www.punchng.com/news/unpaid-salaries-strike-imminent-in-18-states/ Osun state workers wants change but is their governor the man for the job. Note that I'm just a concerned citizen. |

Such as giving them sewing machines, money for trade, resources for farming, local oil processing, materials for traditional weavers, rented homes. PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, Vice-president Namadi Sambo, non-returning federal lawmakers, ministers and presidential aides will collect N3.24bn as severance allowances, investigation by The PUNCH has shown. The severance allowances are contained in the Remuneration Package put together by the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission. According to the package, Jonathan, who will hand over to the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on May 29, is entitled to 300 per cent of his basic annual salary. The President’s annual basic salary is put at N3, 514,705 and therefore his severance allowance will be N10, 544,115 after May 29. The severance allowance is without prejudice to his other constitutional entitlements as a former head of government. Similarly, Vice-President Sambo, who leaves office the same day as Jonathan, is also entitled to 300 per cent of his annual basic salary put at N3, 031,572.50. This means that his severance allowance after May 29 is N9, 094,717.50. For having held the office of vice- president, Sambo also has some constitutional entitlements and perks. About 76 senators are not returning to the National Assembly either because they did not stand for election or because they lost their bids to return. They are however entitled to N462,019,200 at the expiration of their tenure on June 5. http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-sambo-others-to-get-n3-24bn-severance-pay/ |
ki02020:I'm not a fan of Tinubu and Bode, they are both liars |

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has denied apologising to the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Chief Bode George had said, during an interview with Sunday PUNCH, that Tinubu was responsible for his imprisonment but had apologised to him at the burial of the Deputy President-General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao, last year.George had said, “Bola thought I hated him so much and convolutedly conspired to use a judge to put me in prison. We later met at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, at the burial of my good friend, Alao Arisekola. The Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, who is a younger brother of mine, sprang up and said, ‘Why are you and Tinubu not greeting each other?’ and I said ‘Bola is on a different planet from mine’.“Oba Otudeko was also there and he said, ‘Today at the burial of our mutual friend, Arisekola, we should end our hostility’ and I told them that he was involved in the conspiracy to lock me up. They called Bola, he shook my hand and said he was sorry. It was in public. Since then, if we meet in public, we greet each other but our concepts of politics are different.”However, Tinubu in a statement on Tuesday by his media adviser, Mr. Sunday Dare, said he never apologised to George since he had nothing to do with George’s incarceration. The ex-Lagos State Governor explained that although they both met at Arisekola Alao’s burial, their conversation had nothing to do with an apology. He said, “Mr. George claims the alleged apology was made at the burial of Chief Alao Arisekola. On that date, personalities such as Oba Otudeko and Governor Ajimobi approached me because I did not greet Mr. George initially. They pleaded that, in the memory of the man we were all gathered to honour, I should greet Mr. George. At their request, I turned back and came to greet him by saying, ‘Good afternoon Egbon (senior)’. That was all.”Tinubu argued that he could not have been involved in the incarceration of George since it was the Federal Government that instituted the case against George, a former Military Administrator of the old Ondo State. He said rather, it was people within George’s party that orchestrated his two-year jail term in Kirikiri prison. He explained that George, who has since been exonerated by the Supreme Court, was convicted of ‘invoice splitting’, which had nothing to do with politics. He said, “Mr. George seeks to imbue me with more power than I could possibly have. I am flattered but in all humility, I must protest the false assessment. If he can remember, the government of the day was that of the PDP.“I have never had or sought much influence in those circles. He was charged by the government ruled by his own party for an offence concerning financial irregularities at the Nigeria Port Authority, an appointment he received from that same government.“It is an incredible tale indeed to state that somehow, I could direct a party that tried to dismantle the progressive political structure of my party to bring down one of its key members.“The more plausible explanation for his legal tribulation was that a member of his own cabal blew the whistle on Mr. George’s antics for reasons that only he and that person truly know. The rest is now history.” http://www.punchng.com/news/i-never-apologised-to-bode-george-tinubu/ |
