Nasarawa State isn't a bad place for service year but don't pray to be posted to the interior villages...Lolz... You know what to expect there already. But some villages are cool and friendly. You will enjoy free food stuffs from villagers at times. But when you get to camp, there's what to do if you intend serving in state capital. Join Band!.. There are other means though.

Nasarawa State has one of the best camps in Nigeria. The environment is neat, the food is manageable, cost of food stuffs and other things are not at exorbitant as it has be painted online. I didn't touch my first allawe on camp and was still able to save part of the money I went with. But those don't expect too much when it comes to social activities, we no try for that at all...Our camp fire was very brief, some of us couldn't DEMONSTRATE as planned...Lolz...The soldiers are very friendly, we were not given any hard drilling.

The state pays 5k monthly allowance, for those at the ministry, they collect theirs monthly (CASH) but those in school will collect after 5months. Those at the Federal University are not paid, and are not entitled to state allowance as well. My PPA is cool, everyday is our day of work and everyday is our holiday as well. Not a school sha. And serving in Lafia, the state capital. Transportation is damn cheap here!.

All I know is that private schools sometimes pay more than govt schools. Someone I know is serving in a private school,his salary is 20k with a good accomodation.
One thing about Abuja(for those of you that will like to serve dia) is that you will see money but the money will go for either houserent or foodstuffs,some PPA in town doesn't have accomodation at all.
Another thing is transportation, transportation here is somehow cheap ONLY if you know your axis,but if you are new here,im telling you transportation will be your first experience,cos cab men r going to eat you raw,somewhere you can even use your leg and trek,dey wil still tell you "DROP".so the choice is yours.

Guys, the online registration comes up on Thursday and I can most assuredly say that I and possibly over 80% of the PCMs don't have a certain idea on where to serve or should I say the best places to serve in terms of security, little expenses, a hopeful future after nysc in the state, etc. So I guess I won't be speaking for only myself if i plead for an article with a possible title of "List of top 10 best states for your nysc service" with probably an addition of the pros and cons.
I will wanna believe there might probably have been an article on that in this nairaland platform but having searched and not seen, if you know where such an article is, kindly post it here for us to see so we can make a good decision on where we want to serve in the next one year. Thanks alot guys.
