hukslaw: From the comments, it's obvious that many Nigerians react based on emotion rather than understanding. Many called the son foolish, and one person even blamed it on him being Gen Z. Yet the post clearly described him as a "bungling son."
Unfortunately, many of these " 'am' a graduate" youths didn't take a moment to Google the meaning of bungling son before rushing to comment. How is bungling not a synonym of foolish, based on the Google meaning below Bungling means doing a task very badly because of a lack of skill, care, or experience.
It describes clumsy, awkward, or careless work that often ruins what you are trying to do. |

Because “small small money” can teach discipline, but discipline without enough income can still feel like running on a treadmill. Thanks for sharing your angelic wisdom on this topic. I love your treadmill analogy………….running on a treadmill that is going nowhere. |

Stevosty: How many even have the "small money"? Nobody manages money better than a poor man. If extreme poverty paupers manage their small money well enough they won’t be forever poor, from one generation to another. If African countries manage our small money well enough, then why are we still suffering from extreme poverty and other problems, seven decades after independence? |

pansophist: Not only the UK, it’s same situation in many western countries, especially densely populated countries like The Netherlands, Belgium, and Ireland.
And there are no signs that it’s getting better. It just seems like people work to pay rent, mobile data, utility bills, fake it on social media and repeat monthly. Why pay rent when one is living with parents Do they live more with single mothers than with dads or both parents? |

emmaodet: I think the population size of nigerians with disposable income has not reduced from then till now, what has changed and increased is the population growth in relation to people with disposable income.
In a simple statement for example, 15 out of 100 nigerians had disposable income to do other things outside their basic amenities while in 2025, the population has grown and not the 15 shrinking. In other words, the nigeria population growth rate is higher/faster than disposable income growth rate I guess that this is based on your perception rather than verifiable data, which takes into consideration the hyperinflation of the past three years and worse unemployment and extreme poverty rates. |

Romance › Re: What Do I Do In This Situation by seguno2: 2:11pm On Aug 29, 2025 |
Hemanwel: I have a single mother I am befriending at my workplace. This lady has a personal business she's running. Recently, she got a business proposal from one of the companies she sells their product. The business proposal has the capability of giving her a breakthrough in the sales business, because if her turnover is seen to be impressive, the company will make her the sole distributor of the product in her locality. However, She's required to commit about N4m into the business according to the proposal.
Now, the challenge is that, she ain't got the dough; and she's been singing it to my hearing cos she knows I have the money. How did she know I have the money? I did a transaction a certain night; I then mistakenly sent the debit alert to her as a proof of payment for the transaction before editing the balance.
I do not plan to marry this lady, neither do I plan to be with her for long. I am only using her to cure konji until I finally get the girl I want to settle with. Besides, I have other plans for the money she saw in my account. Now, how do I convince her that she's NEVER in my plans with respect to that money she saw? This is a lady who thinks because she's single and I am also single, and that we are 'chopping' each other, it automatically means she's my woman. In fact, she'd once asked me about my plans of wife-ing her. Is this the same girl who you were talking about below Hemanwel: Good day, fellow Nairaland comrades and OGs in the house!
I have this 35-year-old single mother of one who works in the same place with me that I recently started an affair with. After a while, I discovered that our perception or idea about life differs. Also, I discovered that she isn't the type I may want to decide to spend the rest of my life with. Despite being a graduate, she acts too local for my liking. Imagine girl wen go dey use bare hand dey pick cockroach for ground. Lolss. In terms of beauty sef, she's just a plane Jane. She jur get small fine shape like that, na why I say make local man dey use her hold body.
Now, it's like the affair is becoming a clog in the wheel for me to get other better chicks. As a comrade, I suppose end am once and for all and call her bluff; but on a second thought, Okafor's Law comes to mind. So, I want to ask: what subtle or decent way can I end the relationship, in which both parties can still be in good talking terms? |
