adewumi7: Praise God i passed intermediate.Afuye wale passed Pe 1 .MY No is 08122715861@Adewumi7; thanks a lot God bless you so much ma! 2 down; 2 to go! Only 636 persons passed PE1 in the federation out of over 6,000 plus that took that level exams! I am not trying to justify my partail success but I must make the following points: 1. Don't be distracted by those compulsory questions! They are a trap to confuse you and equally waste ur time! In F.A; my Obj and short answers were okay but I did not touch the compulsory part at all and was only able to answer 2 questions! Am not so sure I did the two satisfactorily too! Morals: All questions carry the weight of marks written against them. Attempt the ones you know in their respective turns and be guided by the marks each question carry! E.g question 1a carry 2marks while B and C carry 7marks and 6marks respectively; don't spend time trying to answer 1a at all. 2. Be very cautious with your time! Apply discipline as far as time spent on each section is concerned. This is a principle I ignored cos I was green with the exams! 3. Be very open minded and restless in your aPproach to especially courses like AAA! I was embarrased by the questions set! They were all applied! I was just firing and missing my target! E.g "what is audit failur" and stuffs like that! Be sure all questions set were all within the scope of the PE1 syllabus! Past questions really misled; plus, being an OAU graduate, I felt ICAN would just be a work over! Morals: Approach the exam like an underdog no matter how brilliant you think you are! 4. Read into the exam hall. I was too confident that am so good in MA that the 1:30 mins I had to prepare for MA after the dissapointing AAA was spent eating gala and frolicking! I was shocked to realise that so many obj and short answer questions I knew like "eba" just escaped my brain! The auditing hit me so hard I was too angry to read anymore! But na me con suffer o! 5. Read auditing over and again even like three times starting from today o! It is a very terrible course! 6. I had three months to prepare for the exams! 2months was spent on FA cos it is too voluminous! Morals: every paper counts; don't take any of it as priority! I have Never failed An accounting course in my life MA is my best course! I was just too confident so I fluked it! I like decision tree as a topic but I couldn't move my hand when I saw the question! 7. Don't ever joke with the ICAN packs o! More important than the past questions! 8. Nairalanders, stop bringing down the reputation of ICAN by suggesting that their questions are too cheap! They must have felt so insulted by all the rubbish some who managed to pass posted on this forum! The last exam must have made it clear that questions have not finished with them o! they can scatter you if they really want to! 9. Finally, ICAN is a spiritual eaxm! Pray very hard as you prepare! Hope someone has learnt from the foregoing missive! 2down, 2 to go!!! Praise God |

This is one of the best piece I have read on nairaland! You should have realized by now that Nigerians are like to be enslaved! This fact is reflected in the lack of response your post has suffered before now! Most just feel you are not making sense! But be sure they will regret not taking your advice soon enough! Please give a list of very lucrative trades/vocation people should start considering! Perhaps this thread can come to life! Radio stations keep reiterating the FG's mind about self-employment! There are no jobs! Kudos to you sir/ma! Your mind is very beautiful indeed! |
Well, I wrote ICAN for the first time with so much tension in the last diet! I dint touch the compulsory part at all in FA but did 2 others fairly! My MA may have been worse and AAA wasn't satisfactory at all! Some friends who have been through the race confirmed that sometimes the exam can be that bad but they were suprised to pass! Results would be released any moment; am not sure if this is the right time to raise this issue! I need to be hopeful o! Can any1 help out with a juicy experience shared here? |
Guys! You are all wonderfully made. Most of the contributions here is comic yet disillusioning! I guess it's not so rosy going to S.A to find a job. Wao! Mind blowing. But there are a few more queries: 1. As mentioned above, I was issued a 3month multiple visitor's visa with a condition of spending 7days holiday. A friend of mine in S.A said I can be in for 3weeks if I wanted without any negative implication on my chances when applying another time. This was after he pointed out to me that visas can only be extended after visa is expired or a few days to expiration. True? 2. I may want to try the USA embassy on my return (student or conference) since S.A doesnt yet meet my aspirations! Can my deliberate extension of the 7days holiday affect my travelling integrity? Thus hamper my chances? 3. Anyone with a more realistic knowledge of the process and duration of getting a S.A Work/residence permit if they mean thesame thing? Some guys already told me it's about 70k. Please don't blame me. I've got no job here. I need to move on. Cheers! My friends and Thanks a lot.Guys! You are all wonderfully made. @ Xreal, thanks a bunch for your help. Perhaps, you are not so sure of how to answer my other questions. But am grateful all thesame. God bless you. |
Hello Nairalanders, I got myself a 3 months multiple South African visa with a condition of spending SEVEN (7) days holiday. This is in line with the request on my application form. I thought it would mean less emphasis on staying back hence boost my chances for a 6months visitor visa like some people talk about here. However, do well to answer the following queries in thesame format am presenting them. They are: 1. How do I extend my stay on arrival at S.A for a 3weeks? period? 2. I may return shortly after am back in Naija! Can I get formal jobs with my BSc certificate (2.1) in accounting from a Naija school? 3. South Africa universities request that our certificate be evaluated by SAQA before applying to their schools. This takes over 6months. By implication, am too late for next year's admission. Can anyone hint me of schools that do not require SAQA as a condition for entry into a masters program Thanks in anticipation, my good friends. But noone should see any economic advantage here by trying to woo customers. Just post all you can to educate us.
