For once RSA says something positive to Nigerians. |
And Capital YES, Amodu Shuaibu would be the Coach of this my Super Eagles team to the World cup. |
Let me even take it further to my starting 11. GOALKEEPER Vincent Enyeama (1) DEFENDERS Joseph Yobo (5) Dele Adeleye (6) Elderson Echiejile (3) Yusuf Mohammed (2) MIDFIELD Femi Ajilore (4) John Mikel Obi (10) Osaze Odewingie (7) Obinna Nsofor (11) ATTACK Obafemi Martins (9) Ikechukwu Uche ( ![]() Nos in bracket indicate their positions on the field of play. |
The fact is Stanley Okoro and to some extent Sanni Emmanuel were too individualistic and selfish in front of goal yesterday. We should have been up by at least 2 goals in the 1st half if not for their selfish play. Stanley Okoro in particular formed 'Landlord' with the ball and shot at goal when he should have passed to Sanni Emmanuel who was in a better scoring position. I played football for a few amateur teams and I know for a fact that even amongst teams, cliqs do exist. ie certain midfielders only pass to a particular striker and stuff like that. Okoro exhibited this trait of selfishness and 'na only me sabi play' right from day one and it cost us dearly yesterday. In our previous matches, there were so many times the coach was visibly fuming and angry because Okoro refused to pass so I'm just surprised the coaches allowed him to carry on with it for so long. After all said and said, I'm particular happy Okoro did not win any of the individual awards. Without taking anything away from the other players, the positives for me in this team were the captain, Azeez, Ajagun & Emmanuel. I'm not sad becos I got the big öne - The South Africa 2010 World Cup ticket. Congrats Nigeria. |

Isaac Promise was just average in 2005 WYC and he was pathetic in the Olympics.Apart from that, the guy is simply not gòod. That guy shouldn't come near our National Team. |

Compare Manny and Mayweather in their fights against Ricky Hatton. Which fighter do u think was more convincing in his victory? I'm even willing to bet Manny Pacquaio will K.0 Floyd Mayweather. Shameless Mayweather! Na recycled boxers like 'Bitterleaf' Shayne Mosley em dey like fight. Make em step up to Manny if em think se em sabi fight. Shioor! |
@ Sagamite Wetin u mean by 'why can't some of u type properly?' U-27's u mean? Look, I don't take kindly to people insulting me and PLEASE drop this your age obsession with the Golden Eaglets -You're beginning to sound like a broken record. BTW, my exclusion of Obinna Nsofor was a mistake and wasn't deliberate. I absolutely love Nsofor and he's my 2nd favourite player after Osaze. He'll even make my 1st 11 anytime, anyday. Out comes Kanu Nwankwo/Joseph Akpala in my list above and in comes OBINNA NSOFOR. ***Perfect 23 to take to the world cup** |
MT, keep quiet jare. You sabi read at all? FIFA said the average age of the teams in Nigeria is 18yrs and not that the average age of the Nigerian team is 18. I leave you to draw your own conclusions. |
MrCrackles, well said. This ain't no achievement at all. Someone will still make a suit more expensive than his own. Then what next? Shioor. |
I'm truly happy for him & Adaeze particularly now that we've qualified for the world cup. |
She's very shallow in thought. Her mouth like I don't mind being wife no 22 as long as there's peace. Bloody waste of education IMO. Foolish, yeye woman. |
Obiwon & Faze have an advantage. They're good dancer's already judging from their musical videos. |
Eeeya! Blaise murdered him on his own track. |
It's definitely between AJAGUN, AZEEZ and CHUKWUDI. |
This was a no contest from the very beginning. I can't wait for Manny and Mayweather to face-off, so Mannny can beat the living daylight out of him. |
Yeap! I agree Africa is presenting its best teams and PLEASE Tunisia is by no means a better team than Nigeria. |
Case closed!!! |
GOALKEEPERS Vincent Enyeama, Dele Aiyenugba, Austin Ejide DEFENDERS Joseph Yobo, Dele Adeleye, Daniel Shittu, Apam Onyekachi, Elderson Echiejile, Taiye Taiwo, Yusuf Mohammed, Olubayo Adefemi (Notice I put Echiejile and Mohammed before Taiwo and Adeleye cos I prefer them to the latter two). MIDFIELDERS Mikel Obi, Seyi Olofinjana, Femi Ajilore, Kalu Uche, Sanni kaita, Dickson Etuhu (yet to make an impact in the S. Eagles though but plays v.well for his club). ATTACKERS Osaze Odemwingie, Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke, Obafemi Martins, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Ikechukwu Uche, Joseph Akpala/Kanu Nwankwo (How I wish Kanu could be dropped - he has no relevance in the team but alas Amodu no get the liver). STANDBY PLAYERS Greg Etafia, Yusuf Ayila, King Osanga, Eneramo, Rabiu Ibrahim, Lukman Haruna (As much as I hate him, he's a decent player), Ajagun & Azeez (from U-17's), Nwankwo & Obot (from Egypt 2009). |

I'm glad and ecstatic we qualified. My question is why do we like making things difficult for ourselves. After going 2-1 up, why did we concede that equalizing goal? (in a match of such importance and magnitude) I almost died when we conceded that goal. I think Obinna Nwaneri should never be invited to the National team again. That guy was pathetic yesterday. As usual Amodu messed up with his starting 11. Eneramo & Nwaneri should never have started the game and Martins & Nsofor had no business on the bench. After all said and said, Amodu should be left alone to take the team to the World cup irrespective of what happens at the Nations cup. He has twice qualified us for the world cup under very difficult circumstances & almost impossible odds and it's only fair he takes us to the world cup. I don't want a white man whether Luis van Gaal, Klinsmann, Juande Ramos etc doing an Onigbihinde on him this time. Let Amodu reap from where and what he has sown. C'est fini! Congrats Nigeria & Nigerians. |
I've got a song for Switzerland. When u wan play Naija 1st reach Oyingbo Market Charter plenty baskets Cos Naija no get respect Ask South Korea, Ask Espana When u talk of soccer Eeh, eeh, eeh, goal Nigeria - oko iya won I predict 3 - 1 in favour of Nigeria. |
I'll rather be ruggedyfied than modyfied. At least ruggedy get kish n baffs pass obotunde 'bigbaby' modezero. |
Do u mean online or on air? Anyhow sha, I served in the east and Cosmo FM was one of the things that made my stay bearable. It's a cool station. |
