I need a research grant to develop my research further. |
Sagamite, u too much. Amodu and no1else MUST take us to the World cup.QED! |
Na wa o! |
Beach soccer is lovely and very enjoyable. It reminds me of the 3 -A-side mönkey post I used to play back in the days. |
Honeric01, if I may remix your lingo - I 1000000% want to see Amodu at the World cup. |
Abegiii, make una spare me all the religious bullsh!t jare. May her terrible & wicked soul roast and roast in hell fire. |
EXPERIENCE is nothing but a big Hip-Hop party/groove disguised with the cloak of the gospel. Like I said in my first reply, make una go groove, dance, shake una 'booty' and enjoy una selves. Nothing spoil! BTW, before u guys crucify me, I thought I'll let u know this - I'm a CHRISTIAN. |
For whatever reason, God help my wife make I tell her to quit her job to take care of my kids and she says NO. Oya ladies bring out the daggers. |
Sagamite, thank you. You have spoken my mind and said all there is to say. Amodu is only been persecuted today because of the collective sins of Kanu Nwankwo, Taiye Taiwo and Dele Adeleye in our match against Tunisia in Abuja. |
Tales by moonlight. |
Na so them shout Experience! Experience! Experience! last year so tey I nearly deaf. I was expecting those that attended to come back with two heads, four legs and four hands but alas they came back the same way they went. So much for the Experience! Anyhow sha, make una go groove & enjoy una selves. |
True! The day you're banned you appreciate been on Nairaland. |
Here we go again on another wild goose chase. BTW, I'm of the Opinion we need a foreign president too since Yaradua has proved to be incompetent. Why don't we go for Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter since they're both available. Arrant Nonsense & Rubbish! |
Honsule, thanks. I'll be expecting & praying for a positive outcome. |
Nella, YES I did. It was on a thread in the politics section. You know how the politics section is nah - That place na War Zone. Nothing like gentleman for there - All man get em gun fully 'loaded' and 'cocked' & it's for FIRE. That place & religion section is not for the lilly livered or faint hearted - lol. On a serious note, I dont think a Moderator is responsible for my ban. I suspect it was Seun himself who wielded the big stick cos 5 minutes after the ban, that particular thread made front page (Who else apart from Seun selects threads from the different sections to put on the front page?) I think what happened was that Seun was going through threads in the different sections to choose threads for the front page and he came across my posts and promptly banned me. Honsule & co, abeg make una help me appeal to Seun o because to err is human but to FORGIVE is DIVINE. |

Etibaba! still browsing and downloading. |
Honsule, na lie you talk o. I haven't been unbanned. On reading your post I was ecstatic and I quickly logged out as semid and logged in as semid4lyfe @ exactly 11.35 pm & I still saw that annoying ban message in red * You have lost your forum posting privileges. Reason - Your mother must have dropped you on your head when you were a baby. Bloody slowpoke! It is against the rules to attack someone becos his opinion differs from yours* To confirm it even further, I opened a thread and the REPLY button is still missing. I don send Seun 3 emails apologizing profusely for what I did but the guy no just gree free me. Honsule, abeg help me plead my case to Seun (as u be lawyer - lol) to restore my posting previleges as Semid4lyfe. The ban dey pain me pass heartbreak sef. |
Another silly thread on Nairaland. |
That selfish muthafucka! I have it on good authority that guy has been going to the open camps of our age group teams since '92 but he never made any of the final teams. Now I know why. I just feel sorry for Azeez who obviously felt very sad about the loss & cried like a baby. Okoro should go back to Heartland and spend the rest of his career in obscurity. |
@ Marutimon Taiye Taiwo , the best LB in the world since Roberto Carlos? I laugh is 'swahili'. I can't believe u're mentioning the same Taiye Taiwo who those 'small boys' from Mexico were dribbling anyhow &turning 360 degrees in our friendly against them. It got so much & embarrasing for him that he plunged into an unnecessary challenge and conceded a penalty. Without thinking, I can mention five left backs who are better. - Ashley Cole, Patrice Evra, Abidal, Gael Clichy, Roma's Norwegian leftback (4gotten his name) etc. Moreover, I'll rather play a leftback for his defensive qualities rather than just becos he can play freekicks. Besides his freekicks are one-dimensional (shots only) and less likely to result in goals unlike free kicks which are bent over the wall. Watch Koeman, Stoichkov (of old), Beckham (of present ) who were/is consistent with scoring freekicks and u'll realize this is true. Besides Coaches have been known to adapt naturally right footed defenders who most times can use their left legs 'almost as well' as their right leg and they have done very well. e.g Siasia played Chibuzor Okonkwo (a home-based with Bayelsa United) at left back and he was faultless in our olympics campaign. Guy, like Sagamite said stop reading complete sports and listening to Brilla FM. @ Sagamite The world cup is not a place for experimenting so Taiwo will certainly be confined to the bench in MY team. Moreover, playing 11 is not just about beating the opposing no 2 and crossing/squareplaying the ball. Can Taiye make those runs off the ball to free himself or set some other players free (dummy runr)? Can he cut inside instead of running parallel with the ball along the touchline all the time? (His normal game BTW ,goes to show that you can't teach an old dog new tricks) I don't think so! He'll be too predictable and easy for the opposing no 2 to neutralize. It's easier to convert an 11 into a 3 than a 3 into an 11, So I say NO to Taiwo on the outside left. Like I said, it's a very thin line between Olofinjana or Ajilore so whoever starts depends on the opposition. I concede Olofinjana is actually better in DEFENDING than Ajilore but he adds little or nothing to my offensive play. Shey u dey try draw or u dey try win ni? Na so u take become champ for PS? Lol. Yakubu is the best AFRICAN striker EVER in England but he's yet to make an impact in the S.Eagles unlike Martins, so Martins is it for me. Finally, I have seen enough of Yusuf Mohammed and he has convinced me without a shadow of doubt he deserves the no 2 jersey. If Mohammed & Adefemi are injured, I'll go to Bayelsa United and pick Chibuzor Okonkwo instead of your Odiah. Forget his pro status, Chidi Odiah is simply not good enough to in the S.Eagles. C'Est FiNIto! |
Komekn, lets keep the 23 man list to players who have commited to play for Nigeria and exclude those who are still torn between Nigeria & some other countries. @ all The typical Nigerian mentality of criticizing without providing solutions is on display over here. The thread says drop ur 23 players -so far only very few of us have complied - Sagamite and I have even taken it a step further to list our 1st 11 but the rest of u guys are just criticizing our list without posting yours. POST UNA LIST MAKE WE SEE or are u'all just good at criticizing? After, una go dey criticize Amodu's starting 11. Yeye people. Shioor! @ Sagamite I agree Taiwo is a liability in defence but I'll never consider him for any position apart from left back when there are natural strikers who can easily be adapted to play from the left wing e.g Nsofor, Ogbuke etc. besides this two have good dribbling abilities and pack a decent shot on both legs unlike the one-legged Taiwo. Bottom line - Taiwo will serve as cover for Echiejile incase of injury. I may bring him in for a player in the last minute of a knockout match just to come & play penalty though. On Yakubu starting and Martins coming in from the bench- I'm of the opinion a coach should start with his best players always. Even if Martins were to be on the bench, I'll start with Ogbuke and not Yakubu. If u have seen only 15 minutes of Yusuf Mohammed, then u haven't been following the S.Eagles closely. The guy played most of the matches in the 1st round of the WC qualifiers and IMO, he's better than Odiah and Adefemi. I feel your point ön Olofinjana though. The guy does his job quietly but I need some1 who is more adventurous and outgoing & who isn't just satisfied with passing to other players (e.g reminds me of Mikel in Chelsea - Essien scores goals even when he's played as DM. Why doesn't Mikel?) & therefore Ajilore edges him slightly to the DM position cos of the extra bite he brings to the team in my 1st 11. |
Sagamite, so u actually prefer Odiah to Yusuf Mohammed & Adefemi? And u're going to play Kaita and Olofinjana together in midfield? And in your 2nd option u're contemplating playing Taiwo as 11? Na wa for u o! This your team is just too defensive for my liking. The best result I see ur team getting in the world cup is a 0-0 scoreline and u know where that will get u, abi? |
? ? ? |
@ kaecy5, Talk your mind, nobody dey skin u alive for here. Nigerians sha! Una no go kill me with laughter? Bonfrere Jo to join Amodu cos Amodu is not competent enuff and the boys do not respect him? And who will be the Boss, Amodu or Bonfrere? The same Bonfrere that messed up our 2002 world cup qualification in 2001 that Amodu had to be brought in at the 11th hour on a salvage mission to pick up the pieces? and eventually qualifying us for the world cup. What has respect for the Coach got to do with Kanu losing a ball while trying to dribble unecessarily when he should have passed against Tunisia, Taiye Taiwo going to sleep and failing to mark a striker, and Adeleye making a poor judgemental error. Shebi Berti Vogts was a 'world class coach' who the players respected? Did we fare well under him? Nigerians and this their 'Oyinbo' mentality sef! Very soon some peeps will be asking for foreign parents. No be na wa, na reeeaaal wa for u! |
@ Sagamite Ok, Martins and Ikechukwu Uche aren't the tallest of strikers but don't forget both (particularly Martins) have a great leap and have you forgotten Ikechukwu's goal against SA in the 1st round of the WC qualifiers in Abuja. He jumped higher than the taller defender who was marking him. Never underestimate a striker with a great leap. I have seen Martins countless times in the premiership contesting for aerial balls with tall players & often times beating them to it. (Watch Aghahowa's goal against Sweden in Japan/Korea 2002 and u'll be convinced what a great leap can do). Besides who are the alternatives? Maybe u'll prefer rambling, bullish, pathetic and 'irokorish' strikers like Enaramo and Ighalo (Sia1's U-20) who couldn't score to even if presented with an empty post to Martins and ikechukwu Uche. Oya, enuff of me talking. Select your 'ideal' 1st 11 from your 23 man list, make I see. |
Talk is cheap! Mayweather has always had a big mouth but Manny lets his boxing in the ring speak for him. I agree Floyd is a wily old fox and his style is defensive and kinda like Mohammed Ali's but must he fight defensive all the time? Imagine the fool fighting defensive against some1 like Ricky Hatton? I couldn't help laughing and I said to my self 'shey na the guy wey be the best pound 4 pound boxer be this?Wait till em meet Pacquaio'. Manny on the other hand showed absolute class against Ricky Hatton and Cotto. The jury is already out on this one - Pacqaiuo will beat Mayweather anytime, anyday, anywhere. C'est fini. Don King, Oscar de la Hoya (Golden Boy promotions) etc, the ball dey una court. Make una organize this fight sharp sharp so my prophesy go come true. |
No 3G and dem wan floor Nokia? kai! I laugh in 'anabel'. Anabel ko Anawhistle ni. |
Ehen! Well, I was making free easy cliq to easy cliq calls on my etisalat even before the promo started. |
