Tripletmom:
Mum that flew Turkish airline, pls how did u add ur baby’s ticket?
I called d airline n was told i can’t b given any information about it dat i should go to dere office at DC or wait til the day of departure but Wil b more expensive.
I used turkish last year. Adding baby ticket was very easy. Hubby went to the airport in Nigeria and made payment. Ticket was forwarded to me and that was all. I can't remember the exact amount but was very cheap and sure less than 50k. Hope this helps

is this certain? I submitted an application since 23 March and paid for priority and was hopeful since it was just renewal oh...the person travelled to UK in 2012 and has valid US visa. Just got mail to pick up passport yesterday. Status changed to decision made in the morning and ready for collection 4:15pm. this really affected all my plans but who do i arrest? God bless Nigeria.....so just prepare for the worst case.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by semilore12:
okay...so for those still looking for recent IAD POE experience...

Arrived Washington Dulles with my toddler via qatar airways. Flight was good...i had a whole row to myself on both legs so we pitched our tent there and my girl was able to sleep well. Please ensure to process ur medif as mentioned. In IAD, very very long queue...i used the express passport and within minutes was done and on my way out. I was surprised that no question was asked and while still wondering if what just happened was real, I heard an officer call madam from the back.
I turned and he asked how I got in, I told him his fellow just stamped me in, he brought me back to his desk. Another officer came and asked him why he called me back, he said he just got an info about me (in my mind i was like God pass una).
he checked my daughter's passport, gave it back to me and dropped mine in a red box. he handed over to me and sent me elsewhere....ur guess as good as mine. Almighty secondary...

The truth is I honestly don't know where the confidence came from, but I wasn't scared one bit. My toddler was running around and I kept chasing her with my big belle. After about 30mins, I was called.
CBP- how are you madam
Me - fine thanks and u
CBP - fine. how much did you pay for your daughter's delivery
Me - about 3200
CBP - no delivery in the US can be that cheap
Me - well, there is. I signed a self pay package that offers that amount if payment is made before discharge.
CBP - which hospital
Me - John H Stroger.
CBP - but you told someone in your flight that you gave birth for free
Me - Not at all, I even had a row to myself on both legs of the trip so I never discussed anything with anyone.
CBP - Why are you no longer using same hospital
Me - My host is on holiday
CBP - Which hospital will you be using now
Me - HC
CBP - Do you have a doctor
Me - Yes
CBP - How much do you have
Me - $$ and I have also paid my doctors fee in full
CBP - can I see the receipt
Me - oh sure, gave him
CBP - now come with me, we need to count the money
Me - (I followed to another room where he counted the money )
CBP - Make sure you take all your receipts with you on subsequent visits.
Me - okay. Thank you.

That was how I left the place to meet my host who was already waiting even before arrival of the plane. Bags not checked at all and that was it.

If you have a long layover with the economy class promo ticket, you are expected to sort yourself (accomodation & feeding)Qatar airways did not give me anything o,as in anything. Absolutely nothing whatsoever was given.

Flight arrived Doha at 11:30 pm at night. Decided to pay $55 for access to use the lounge, instead of paying around $160 for the airport hotel. The lounge was ok,the only draw back with the lounge use is that it doesn't have sleeping arrangements (bed) but you can use the couch, you only have access to food, drinks and shower.
thanks so much...i appreciate. Were you given meal vouchers or anything by qatar airways to ease your layover period? Apologies for my plenty questions oh smiley
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by semilore12: 4:12pm On Mar 26, 2018
Hello dere5, how was your trip. Please can you share your experience as regards the layover period in Doha
dere5:
Thanks,$125 is more like it. Don't mind me o, my eyes lit up when I saw $60,I thought I had hit jack pot.

Yes.
I am so sorry to bother you again, just running out of time so not enough room for research. The payment page is only showing amount stated for priority processing, i was expecting it to add up both priority and visa fee. Am i missing something?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by semilore12: 11:17am On Mar 21, 2018
Thanks so much. God bless you. Was a bit confused. Guess i can use either of the 2. I already completed the form using the 2nd link before i discovered the first one.
ekpotek:
First is the old application system and the second is the new application system. Not much difference.

Thanks so much @justwise. A friend mentioned to me today to consider possibility of submitting mum's application when she gets to US and submit dad's own here in naija. Do you think someone on visiting visa in the US can make such application?
justwise:
4th of April is about 3weeks away so it's going to be tight, only if you want to use super priority
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by semilore12: 10:58am On Mar 14, 2018
Good day all,

I have an issue and would like people to contribute based on trends and recent info. Would like to apply for UK visa for my dad and mum. Mum is booked to travel to US on the 5th of april. I have just received all supporting docs from their host in UK so submission and biometrics i guess cant be earlier than Monday.

I also checked details for expedited applications and i am not sure their case qualifies for it to be expedited (please correct me if wrong).

Though mum has been to UK before but dad hasnt. Mum has a US visa as well but dad didn't apply for US visa. I will package the application together as family since they are visiting for same purpose (cousin's wedding).

Now my question: from recent scenarios, do you think we will get passports back before 4th of april? Is there a category we can fit in for expedited? If we dont receivevpassports by 3rd of april, is there anything i can do?

Biko, kindly assist if you have answers for me. Thanks in advance

@The bolded is quite key here, why will you guys feel so? Are you guys not intent on her declaring her purpose of going into the US?

As long as purpose is declared and it passes, she will get her normal 6months approval from CBP, unless she plans to do otherwise.
no intention to hide oh.....she will be declaring CHILDBIRTH anywhere asked.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by semilore12: 11:42pm On Feb 14, 2018
My people....please help chook mouth for this matter. I have a friend that got her visa for visiting in 2016. they used for the purpose it was obtained same year. In 2017, she used same visa for birthing (she sent notification of intent) without issues. The visa expires in May 2018 and she intends to go back for another missionary journey by June 2018. Due to the recent stories attached to Dropbox renewal, I advised her to jejely enter the US with her current visa instead of reapplying to avoid stories that touch. since her visa expires on 5th, i told her to enter US by 1st but she is insisting on renewal because she feels CBP officer might frown at few days left and just stamp her in for days/2 weeks. I am really worried for her and hope my fellow mamas in the house can help nail the matter on the head. I will show her all responses please don't wakapass oh......apologies for the long post

SuperDad:
Hi @semilore12
MIL's ticket (bought based on when she got the visa- about a week prior to departure) was said to be a "promo" ticket despite being far more expensive than DW's ...and so her ticket didn't qualify her for accommodation.
Thanks plenty, this promo ish must be reconsidered oh choi. Another question biko, can i pm you?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by semilore12: 10:20am On Dec 04, 2017
SuperDad:
Back to the purpose of this thread grin grin grin

In the spirit of giving back (Don't you just love that line)

DW (& MIL) flew Qatar @ 33 weeks + 4 days with Medif (Submitted via their email 5 days before and approval confirmed on phone), Port Health & Doctor's Report.

The Flight was smooth all through but no hotel accommodation was given MIL for the 9 hour stopover in Doha...so both DW & MIL paid 50 USD each to get access into the lounge to eat, rest and shower there.
sorry to bother you superdad...may i know why your MIL wasnt given an accommodation in Doha? I intend travelling with my mum and daughter through Qatar so trying to weigh my options. Thanks in advance
