My installation is not faulty,it is a regional issue from MTN directly.

Like the one(MTN FIBRE X NETWORK OUTAGE) that happened few days ago is Nationwide outage.

So is not installation issue, it's technical issue from MTN side.

Some of the things you said here are correct but when it comes to UPTIME and NETWORK RELIABILITY starlink beat all of them.

With starlink you can always wake up and be 99% sure you will have internet access available,but with MTN fibre x it works well today next week it will start doing connecting..., Authentication failure rubbish.

MTN fibre is better when it comes to latency and sustained download and upload speed but they are very poor when it comes to SERVICE UPTIME and RELIABILITY.


For example you can use starlink for 3 years and have only 1 or 2 network outages.

If you use mtn fibre x for that same 3years you will have 500 to 1000 outages.

This MTN fibre x issue is what will finally make me go back to starlink,i used starlink for 3 years only 2 or one service outage that did not last up to 2hours. Now i have used MTN fibre x for just 3 months and more than 10 outages that can last for 3hours +, authentication failure whatever, ipv4 timeout whatever.

If this issue continue this way,i will go back to starlink oo.

It's like they did that thing intentionally,i don't really know the reason because whenever i run speed test on my 100mbps package at midnight just to make sure no load on the server, the download speed is always stable at 99-100mbps but the upload speed will first skyrocket to 120mbps in secs and immediately clip down to 45mbps or 55Mbps. This looks like a systemic cap from MTN.

Any technology that comes to Nigeria will behave like the country. In other countries fibre network's download and upload speed is the same or slightly very close to the speed numbers,but in Nigeria you get half of the download speed as upload speed.

I have not experienced it because i haven't exceeded 4.5tb for now.

People have been receiving messages about exceeding fair usage policy and restrictions to 10mbps.

But it will reset on a new billing cycle to normal speed.

Starlink secretly imposes 5Tb cap and speed throttling to 10mbps.

I don't think that's true,if you want to know the real speed of your Starlink then run speed test in the midnight around 2 to 3am.

You must be very close to your router to get real result.

Working very well for some some days now,right now at the time of posting this it's working perfectly well.

Those saying starlink has improved,yes but not really, just browsing,streaming and some other things,it is still facing the app issue and online gaming apps,some bank app,opay,jumia don't open. It was fine after using custom DNS for some hours and it's back to the app error again as of the time of posting this.

Starlink should run an update and fix this issue,i don't want to depend on VPN all the time.

No it's not an app. Go to your starlink router settings an input the numbers in the screenshot attached

This is a DNS issue. Try Google of Cloudfare DNS to resolve this

How long does the DNS take to take effect,is it immediately? Or 48hours or 72hours.

I have tried changing the custom DNS to Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 but it didn't work then and i turned it off.

Let me try again shaa but this time,i will leave the configured custom Google DNS saved for 7days to see if it will make the apps work fine.

Do you have any restriction warning on your account dashboard or something?

I don't think it's restriction issue unless you are CLEARLY notified on your account dashboard or an email content with restriction notice sent to you.

I am experiencing this also,i thought it was DNS issue,bug or firmware glitch. Sometimes the opay works and sometimes it does not work,same thing with jumia app and dls football game.
But i use VPN at the moment to navigate this issue for the time being.

I am watching them shaa.i don already port to MTN fibre X , i just say make i use starlink this month but after September i will be taking a verrrry looong break from starlink.
