That's what Trump asslickers fail to understand, you don't run a government on Twitter, it only complicates issues. There are various diplomatic offices to handle such matters, it shouldn't always involve the president directly. Everthing could have been done behind the scenes. It will now be very difficult to deal with, as Trump is now threatening and insulting. Pride will now take over reason.
The US can fight the whole world at once, it will fail.

Business To Business / Star#code Comes For Individuals, Business Owners And Organizations by senatorebeano(m): 1:35pm On May 03, 2018
Convenience, accessibility and its cost has been the bane of technological adoption for business
owners and organizations. And with advent of the internet, automation of things has never been
this easier.
However, with the convenience the internet offers, more people are still left behind. What
happens to men and women in farm stead across neighborhoods short of strong internet
connection or access to smartphones.
Large population of Nigerians own cell phones compared to those with devices that connects to
the internet. But here lies a strength that can be leveraged to bridge such gaps in the name

Nairaland / General / Solutions For That Impossible Sme Service-based Business by senatorebeano(m): 7:25am On Feb 20, 2018
There is this wrong notion a lot of us entrepreneurs have that any business can be successful if we work hard enough or even harder. But there are many situations where this just does not work out as planned. That is why one of the requirements for building a successful and an enduring business is the passion of the business owner. Times will come that it seems your hard work at marketing, sales, product development and all that are not working. Many times, the entrepreneur wants to throw in the towel because of the seeming failure or delay in reaching anticipated projections or results. Consultants, business coaches, and other service providers often start a business believing that all they need to do is charge a “reasonable” fee and sell “enough” of their time. But unless you do the math to prove or disprove your assumptions, you may be creating a business that can never succeed. Below are two examples of how two service-related businesses were able to turn their impossible business processes to success:

Impossible Business Number 1

Amina is a young graduate of business administration who has this passion for beauty grooming business that also involved being an Image Consultant. She started a beauty salon in a small shop office in her middle-class neighbourhood. When she started her small business, she was selling her services to young professional Nigerian women as an image consultant who wanted an updated or more professional look. She charged N1,000 per hour and thought that was the most anyone would realistically pay to work with her. In most cases, she travelled to a client’s home or went shopping with her client at a little extra cost.

Including travel time and lunch meant that Amina could only make two appointments in one day. The average appointment was two hours long. So the maximum amount Amina could earn in one day turned out to be N4,000. But in order to earn that amount five days per week, Amina would have to schedule ten different clients, all of whose schedules were able to adapt to whatever times she had available.

This was hopelessly unrealistic. Even if Amina had been able to make the scheduling work, when would she have had the time to do the marketing required to land those many clients? It turned out that the maximum Amina could really earn using this model was about N10,000 per week. After paying her direct costs, she could not even cover her monthly living expenses.

Impossible Business Number 2

Another story illustrating the problems associated with an impossible business is that of Uche, an experienced software professional who had paid his dues working for a multinational IT company. Having put in about 7 years on the job, Uche decided to start his own business helping some of the clients of his former employer and mid-sized businesses to build their hardware and software architecture. He typically charged N2,000-N5,000 per hour, and when he landed a contract, it often consisted of 20-100 billable hours.

Because Uche’s earning capacity was so high and he disliked marketing, he spent a lot of money on marketing himself indirectly. He purchased display ads in industry journals and directories, mailed expensive brochures to large lists of prospects, paid to exhibit at trade shows, and hired a telemarketer to prospect for him. Uche also worked on contracts that came through agencies, who often took 20-30% of his earnings as their percentage. Uche was earning as much as N2.1 million per year, but he was losing about N300,000 per year in agency commissions, and spending N600,000 per year on marketing. In return for all his hard work, he was earning considerably less than he had at his last job.

Turning An Impossible Business Into A Possible Case

Many young consultants, coaches, and other professionals almost always overestimate how much they can earn and underestimate the amount of time and money required to successfully market themselves. They also forget that they will have to cover not only their living costs and business expenses, but also pay the relevant taxes, membership fees for belonging to professional groups, buy their own health insurance, provide for their own retirement, and allow for unpaid vacation and sick time.

If Amina or Uche had taken the time to sit down with a calculator before starting out in business or had written a business plan, even if it was a simple plan, they would have quickly discovered that they were on the wrong track. But both of these businesses were able to be rescued.

Amina and Uche sought the help of a management consultant who shared with them what they could do to save their businesses. Amina, for instance, began selling her time by the day instead of by the hour. She offered her clients a full-day package that consisted of a wardrobe review and consultation in the morning and a shopping trip in the afternoon. By charging N10,000 per day and scheduling three clients per week, she could earn more than double than she did previously.

Today I want to shine the light on two, just two couples this year that have made all of us fall more in love with the idea of love and has brought pure joy and happiness to us on all of our devices. They were trending the most on social media and to all the bad belle people out there who simply cannot see the beauty in their relationship, well then well done to you.
But really the word play in my title is not for nothing. You see, there definitely were other popular couples but these two stole our attention and evidently our hearts:
The first couple would definitely have to be Banky W and Adesua Etomi (Now Adesua Wellington). Not only were we entirely shocked to hear about their relationship early this year, Nigerians followed their story all through from their engagement to their wedding and are still very much present in their marriage. Anybody can say whatever it is they want but the truth is their relationship caused a lot of buzz, mostly positive and it wasn’t just a buzz fling either. The engagement lasted for quite a while and it’s safe to say majority are happy for them and can’t wait of course for more developments (wink).
They had a beautiful destination wedding. It took place in South Africa and they were kind enough to keep us satisfied with pictures and videos. We definitely wish them forever together.
My second couple is the very Royal Prince of England, Harry and the beautiful Actress Meghan Markle. Personally

Nairaland / General / Workout, Detox, Diet, Slim Tea, Fit Fam! by senatorebeano(m): 10:24am On Dec 06, 2017
Hello everyone! I am back to talk about something dear to my heart. You see I am not fat. At least I don’t consider myself to be but I am not fit either. And that, ladies and gentlemen is a very big deal.
You know, toned thighs, flat tummy with baby packs etc., I have none. What I do have is normal sized thighs but with cellulite and a muffin top on my belly. Now it’s not embarrassing to others as it is to myself but I have body goals and aspirations and so I have been constantly working towards that as I am sure some others have as well.
Now, I have been consistent with trying out new stuff and coming up with different ideas throughout this journey but I have NOT been consistent with one thing. I don’t necessarily consider this a good or bad thing and I would love not to be judged even as I judge no one else, but living the kind of life I have been living so far, you easily learn all about different methods and their pros and cons.
So I would like to share with you all the methods I have tried and am currently trying and what works best. Keep it in mind that there are no hard and fast rules and everything here applies to ME and may or may not work differently for someone else okay?

The first thing I started doing and this was about five years ago, was working out. Now this is the traditional way to keep fit and get that dream body but I slacked. Why? I slacked because the process though more profitable and gives long lasting result than the others is terribly long, hard and painful if done right. So yeah, I am slowly getting back into it because even if I don’t work out for fit fam benefits, it has its own mental, emotional and physical benefits you simply cannot trade for anything. So, initially I kind of had a trainer. He was a much older family friend that is a gym junkie and that was cool but as I started to find my own two feet I started working out more on my own and at home. I had apps, used YouTube, workout videos and laid out schedules and it worked pretty well. My stomach went down after a long time and I felt good and strong but the mist refreshing reward was my thighs! Guys, I kid you not my thighs were toned. They were amazing and that’s because I was very religious about my squats. I did those squats morning, noon and night anywhere, anytime, bare feet, in sneakers and even in heels! Yes, I cannot make this up. That is definitely something I would get back to in such spirit again.

The second thing I did was go on detox diets. Now this phase of my journey kind of overlapped with my workout phase and although it started out as just a cleansing ritual, when I discovered I was losing weight in all the right places I decided to continue and I can assure you the results were astonishing.
Anyone that knows me knows that I take vegetables just like any normal person would but I am not a freak or fan of them and I can’t survive on just that for a long periods of time so I definitely opted for the fruit detox plans and I loved it. I love fruits so I had fun mixing and matching and having smoothies only for about a month. It was so refreshing, my mind was at ease and I was just at peace with the world and everything around me (low key humble because I was low key starving but whatever).
If you have never been on a detox diet before you must try it. It is the most humbling experience ever. All the lack of regular food will make you so quiet and mellow and all you have energy for is to move around and go to bed. It makes you weak but a good kind of weak you know. Also, it does not only cleanses your body but your mind and soul as well. Honestly,

Nairaland / General / Morocco’s ECOWAS Ambition And The Specter Of The Nigerian Economy by senatorebeano(m): 1:06pm On Nov 29, 2017
By: Momoh-Onimisi
Nigeria from its inception has defined its stance globally as an Afro centric proponent an idea justified by its anti colonial struggle and military mission in war torn region on the African stage. And in response to the post World War era which saw the need for institution to govern the wage of war, prevent genocide and contain proliferation through the establishment of the United Nations, the West African region through General Eyadema of Togo and General Yakubu Gowon of Nigeria spearheaded the ECOWAS course in establishing a regional economic forum for West-Africa nation which arguably is the continents leading regional group.
In many ways, these efforts have succeeded. Yes promoting free flow of goods and the ideals of democracy in view of Liberia, Ivory Coast and recently Gambia but this volatile but progressive architecture now buckle under the weight of new threat especially in the wake of Morocco’s continuous effort to join the sub regional body which in clear terms defies geographical parameter especially of its establishment treaty which explains that “the geographical zone known as West Africa is defined by Resolution CM/Res.464 (XXVI) of the OAU Council of Ministers.
Lest you need reminding, Morocco recently rejoined the African Union after its 33years of exile due to its non compliance on the unions stand on Western Sahara’s right to self determination which arguably was championed by Nigeria. I have no problem with bilateral agreement within African nations, but a blind eyed approach by the Nigerian government in not swaying such motion portrays a leadership adrift of the socio-economic imperative of such detrimental move.
On the flip side, Nigeria economic contribution to the body has seen its churn out more than 60% of the financial burden of the convention a stance it has maintained for over 40 years of its existence; allowing Morocco disrupt the union damages Nigeria leadership role and disrupts the mechanism governing the body and possibly its name which is recognized by the United nation and the African union.
At the moment, Nigerian economy is at its lowest ebb as the oil age gradually winds down, but its enjoyment of cross border trading within the West African coast makes it a viable market for locally produced goods in an attempt at rejuvenating the economic fortunes of the region. Do we then embrace Morocco that has defined itself as the manufacturing hub of the European Union to disrupt the market by allowing tariff free flow of European goods to the West African market a course which will freeze out local industries and damage our balance of trade?.

Romance / “i Will Not Marry Your Son!!” by senatorebeano(m): 2:49pm On Nov 24, 2017
By: Esther Ubong-Abasi

A heartfelt letter to every ‘aunty’

At a social gathering I once attended where close families and relatives were in attendance, I had the opportunity of meeting a lot of ‘aunties’ and ‘uncles’ who for some reason or the other I hadn’t seen in a long time, most of them, since I was born. Of course, everyone was excited to catch up, many of them where surprised that I had actually grown (yeah! Right, like time was supposed to freeze on me) and of course, they were even more surprised since I couldn’t remember them immediately.

Now these older relatives didn’t necessarily have to be related to us by blood but most times in Nigeria anyone who is way older is just generally referred to as your aunty or uncle and the kids somehow just pick that up and have it registered. Fine. But isn’t it also very weird that we never confuse their kids as our cousins? Well, let me not digress, back to my story.

Occasionally, some of these adults will make some of these comments and you are just obligated to laugh, smile, agree and, if you really like the person or you want to be polite, you follow up with conversation:
‘wow, you have grown’.Amen! Thank you Sir, have a blessed day.
‘the last time l saw you , you were…’
‘how time flies, it was just yesterday you were…’
These phrases are often times followed up by extremely outrageous claims and accusations about you that are usually very highly exaggerated, and you should never dare to complain.
The nice elders would ask about what you are up to and such likes but the rest pretty much stick to the script.

On this fateful day, this particular aunty (whom l couldn’t remember very much) played her part, said all the right lines and just as I was about to move on to the next person, she held me and proceeded to inform me all about her son, who was about 4 or 5 years older and would be perfect for me. She didn’t waste time at all. I had a brief history lesson as well, l was told that we were as close as 7 and 8 when we were much younger before he traveled outside the country to study. Everyone used to call me his wife and I guess now she wanted to follow up on all those prophecies over the years. She also felt it was very necessary to inform me he was studying to be a doctor and had a thick British accent. I guess that was a package I simply should not be able to resist. To tell you the truth I was a little bit horrified.

I stood there for a while and allowed her to talk, eyes wide opened, and mouth shut. When she was done, I simply couldn’t respond. Here she was, telling me to hook up with someone I could not even remember! Anyway to cut the story short (actually lengthen it) she probably didn’t understand my reaction very well and felt may be I didn’t believe her, so she dragged me to my mum who was in the midst of other aunties and asked them if her son and I would be perfect for each other. My mother just laughed but all the other women seemed to agree and recall the same story she told me. A few others disagreed stating they had sons who came first to claim me or who were much better candidates based on outrageous criteria I wouldn’t bothered to bring to remembrance. Before I knew it, they had all collected my number, took a snapshot pictures of me and l had about 3 phone numbers on my phone with instructions on how to talk to each of the guys. I left their company feeling like a piece of article about to be auctioned to the highest bidder.

Business / Diversification Or Multiversification? by senatorebeano(m): 12:52pm On Nov 20, 2017
By: Aina Joseph Oluwagbogo.
There have been debates from every corner of the country on the way out of the danger of the mono economic nature of the economy. So many solutions have been suggested which the most dominant is diversification which is a policy aimed at shifting Nigeria’s attention from petroleum as a major source of revenue to other sectors.
Following most debates and ‘prescriptions’ focus is to be placed on the agricultural sector. In other words, rather than concentrate on the oil sector alone, agricultural products would also serve as a source of revenue to the country.
“President Muhammadu Buhari at the weekend in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, vowed to see through his administration’s agenda to diversify the Nigerian economy away from its current mono status.
He said it was no longer viable for the country to depend on a sole product to pull out of its present stage of development noting that his vision to make agriculture the mainstay of Nigeria’s economy remains on course.
In a brief video, where he made the comments at the 21st Farmer’s Day celebration, under the aegis of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company’s (NAOC) Green River Project, Buhari lauded Nigerian farmers for rising to the occasion, noting that they remained critical stakeholders in Nigeria’s economic growth.
“Since oil seems to be the cash cow of the Nigerian economy, we have no option but to return agriculture as our mainstay.
“I wish you happy celebration and a productive planting season ahead. We need to return to old times, diversifying our economy can no longer be something we pay lip service to”, the President said in the short message”. (News credit: newsnow.co.uk)
The question burning in my heart is how long this would suffice for the shivering economy. Economic attention shifted from agriculture to petroleum during the oil boom of the 1973/1974 when there was a surge in international oil prices. Nigeria enjoyed the proceeds from this boom for quite some number of years but began to chew the bones when international oil prices began to drop. The effect of the downturn directly led to a drop in the revenue that accrues to the federal government. Thence, the call for diversification.
Agriculture is similar to petroleum in terms of vulnerability to market prices. Agricultural products are mostly not durable and when they are produced in large quantities, the price need to drop to encourage more purchases in order to avoid wastage. This prices are mostly low and therefore fail to cover costs of production leaving farmers and managers of farm products at a great loss.

Agricultural products as well as petroleum are vulnerable to fluctuations in market prices thereby leaving an economy that is dependent on them at an unstable angle.
To this end, to stabilize the Nigerian economy, diversification might not be a lasting solution but dividing attentions to other productive areas of the economy like the manufacturing sector, textile industries, tourism, education, infrastructures as the products of such fields are less vulnerable to market prices. Rather than diversify the economy, ‘multiversifying’ it would help have different baskets for our eggs.

Investment / What Is Bitcoin? by senatorebeano(m): 1:25pm On Nov 13, 2017
A cryptocurrency (or crypto currency) is a medium of exchange that uses cryptography (think mathematically functions) to secure transactions and control the creation of new units. Cryptocurrencies are a subset of alternative currencies, or specifically of digital currencies. Bitcoin is the first decentralized digital cryptocurrency which began its existence on January 3rd, 2009. One of the reasons why it’s such an attractive currency is the fact that it is “decentralized” which means that it is not regulated by individual financial institutions, however that doesn’t mean that the currency is not regulated at all; it is regulated by thousands of volunteers from around the world who dedicate computer systems to manage the bitcoin system. The bitcoin system put simply is a huge ledger that contains all bitcoin transactions that have ever taken place and everyone on the bitcoin network has a copy of this ledger; Every-time a transaction takes place that ledger is modified. For example: If James wants to send Lola 10 bitcoins, the system would remove 10 bitcoins from James’s account on the ledger and then add 10 bitcoins to Lola’s account.
Another reason why bitcoin is so attractive is because of its security and the integrity of the system due to its cryptographic basis. Commerce on the Internet has come to rely almost exclusively on financial institutions serving as trusted third parties to process electronic payments. While this system works well enough for most transactions, it has weaknesses due to its trust based system. Whenever there is an issue with transactions between entities these institutions must mediate and the cost of mediation increases transaction costs, limiting the minimum practical transaction size and cutting off the possibility for small casual transactions. These costs and payment uncertainties can be avoided in person by using physical currency, but no method exists to make payments over a communications channel without a trusted party. What bitcoin does is that it makes an electronic payment system based on cryptographic proof instead of trust, allowing any two willing parties to transact directly with each other without the need for a trusted third party like a bank. These transactions are computationally impractical to reverse which will protect sellers from fraud, and regular escrow mechanisms could easily be implemented to protect buyers. It also avoids the need for a centralized body managing the currency by implementing a peer to peer system that makes it impossible for double-spending to take place. Double spending was an issue back in the early days of digital currency because an individual could purchase two things from different places at the same time and would only be charged one amount because of the different timestamps of the transactions.
The peer to peer system is a very fundamental part of bitcoin because this system is not only responsible for preventing all kinds of fraud, it is responsible for creating new bitcoins to be circulated in the network. The thousands of individuals also known as bitcoin miners who manage the bitcoin ledger system are not investing thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment for nothing. The bitcoin system rewards these individuals with bitcoin for every transaction they add to the chain of transactions in the bitcoin system. In order to add a transaction to this chain their computer systems have to be the first to solve a mathematical puzzle; these puzzles use up computational power and this determines the order in which pending transactions would be processed. This amazing peer to peer system creates a system that is secure as long as honest computer systems collectively control more CPU power than any cooperating group of attacking computers (Hackers).

Nairaland / General / Self Discovery Vs Self Validation by senatorebeano(m): 5:14pm On Nov 03, 2017
y: Esther Ubong-Abasi

What kind of a world do we live in today?
I’ll tell you, it’s the one where people feel the need to be accepted by others. Fitting in is the norm now and I wonder where learning to accept our differences has gone? Embracing our variations and square pegs in triangular holes has been thrown outside the window.
Today, what we have is needles trying to be threads and pliers trying to be hammers. Why? I don’t know, but I do know, what these new trends are causing all around the world presently.

Society puts pressure on man to conform to or behave in a certain way so they can be accepted. I find this very ironic because society is made up of different men, so in a sense, it’s like we are putting this pressure on ourselves. It’s like we do not accept ourselves enough; its flaws, failures and all. We feel everyone else really has to change. Because a circle can never really be a square and vice versa; when people find out they cannot be the exact copy of someone else, or they don’t really fit in to a certain group which others are part of, the first thing they do is try to change how they are, so as to be the closest version of what they feel is better. Imagine, if I do this, then I am on the road to completely losing my true personality and the sense of who I am. I will create a whole new personality that is somewhere in between who I am and who society wants me to be (my opinion).

Someone else looks at me, my cross breed personality, and decides that he/she wants to be like me. Thus, the process starts all over then, we have a world full of people who are entirely different from whom they initially were. Strangely, there are people who make money off this fact, selling self discovery to the rest of us, but really we all have a different fragment of someone else personality in us and that’s the truth. By virtue of our interaction, experiences and history, nobody can claim to be without a fault.

When can you say then that you have truly discovered who you really are? How do you even go about the path to true self discovery? And when you eventually discover this, how do you begin to become that person, this new personality you have only just discovered?

We need to stop wasting time bothering about if we are truly, who we really desired to be, rather, let’s try and find happiness in any situation. And for the record, I am not talking about purpose here, that is something entirely different and I do believe it is important to find out OUR purposes, since everyone has a unique purpose and we can discover them by inspiration.
However, I am talking solely on our personality. We should try not to bother so much about our personality, to avoid consulting people who want to reveal our personality to us. Tarot readers, and the likes, star signs etc. that promise to tell us how we should act and live should not be what we surround ourselves with. Let our faith, conscience and instincts guide us. If we happen to act like anyone else so be it. One will most likely pick up a few things from other people, it’s entirely normal. If you are Scorpio, you wouldn’t die if you act like a Cancer or Sagittarius once in a while or Leo, Libra, Capricorn or whatever, the question is, are you living your best life and being the very best version of yourself? Once the answer to this question is yes, then you are on your way to true happiness and ultimate self validation.

Nairaland / General / Igbo Question by senatorebeano(m): 3:54pm On Oct 23, 2017
by Edmund Obilo
Nigeria is fifty-seven but, the crises of nationhood holding it down is linked to its failure to resolve its epidemic scourge of ethnic suspicion.
The Igbo question in this regards remains one of the most destabilizing character of the Nigerian state. There is also the Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani and the Niger Delta questions. Genuine answers are needed if the state is to transcend the ills that continue to drag it in the direction of disunity.

The fundamental definers of the Igbo question are issues at the heart of the demand of the Igbos in the Nigerian state. They stem from the dislocation of the people from their guiding philosophy of a loose and organized community relationship and the foisting upon them a political system that dictates from outside their destiny.

At the height of the Nigerian Civil War, the leader of Biafra Col. Odumekwu Ojukwu, on June 1, 1969, in a speech to further rally his people around the idea of Biafra, delivered the Ahiara declaration. The declaration was written by the National Guidance Committee of Biafra chaired by the eminent scholar Chinua Achebe. Achebe in his 2012 book “There Was a Country” opines that their business was “to write a kind of constitution for Biafra – a promulgation of the fundamental principles upon which the government and people of Biafra would operate”.

Delivered in the Biafran town of Ahiara, the declaration remains one of the most progressive national philosophies in Africa and was modeled on Tanzanian’s President, Julius Nyerere’s 1967 Arusha Declaration. It is radical in intent and philosophically revolutionary. A critical analysis of the declaration shows the drawback of the Nigerian system owing to the social formation and logic imposed on it by the colonial system of government.

The document is a deep reflection on the journey of Igbo people from the period of violence and massacres of the Igbos in northern Nigeria that degenerated into the bloody Nigerian Civil War. Its principles are hinged on the pre-colonial concept of Igbo society and ideas behind the current agitation of the Igbo within Nigeria. It marked an epoch of idealism that took stock of the social and political movements of the Biafran nation from the date Ojukwu declared a sovereign nation out of the burdened Nigerian state. In it, is the future aspiration of the Igbo borne out of a bloody experience. The goal of the writers of the document was to create a hopeful, prosperous, just and happy society achieved through a struggle against the forces of religion, injustice, racism, colonialism, corruption and oppression. It envisaged a state with a new character and structure.

The outlook of Igbo people as explained in the introductory part of the declaration is such that defines colour as a parameter for expressing human feelings of love and hate. In this case, the colour black representing the Biafran humanity, failed to attract the sympathy of western civilizations represented by Britain and other western powers accused of supporting the “Nigerian crime of genocide” against Igbo people. Ndigbo note that despite fighting “in the highest traditions of Christian civilization”, western powers “the very custodians of this civilization” joined forces with the Muslim Hausa-Fulani oligarchy to decimate the people and land of Biafra during the Nigerian civil war.

In this protestation is the question of religion, a factor fundamental to the understanding of the Igbo notion of Nigeria. It finds its eminent embellishment in the Igbo opposition to the dominance of the Nigerian state by the Muslim north that controlled political power. Here, the Igbo insist on being immune from the Islamic contagion championed

Fashion / 5 Natural Beauty Hacks And Homemade Remedies by senatorebeano(m): 1:31am On Oct 21, 2017

Today, I will be addressing something I feel is very necessary to talk about. Currently in Nigeria, if you walk into any regular departmental store, you are faced with challenges. Shopping for soaps, creams, hair products, deodorants, etc. has become such a chore for most people because they do not know how to get quality products at reasonable prices.
More often than not, the products that will give you the best results or last longer, may be more effective will take an unhealthy toll on your wallet. If you go for cheap products, you will possibly get something of a lesser standard. What do you do?
Below is a list of my top 5 beauty hacks and home remedies. These are cheap (if bought) and easy to make (if prepared). They will save you lots of money and you will get value for the little being spent. Really, it does not get better than this; the best of both worlds.
1. SHEA BUTTER
In our local markets, this is known as ‘Ori’. Shea butter has quite a numbers of uses but most people are unaware of them. It is used for treating the skin and evening the skin tone. It also doubles as a hair conditioner and hair growth remedy. On natural hair, it works wonders. There is one thing most people do not fancy about Shea butter though, it is its odour. Pure and original Ori is characterized by the terrible scent. The truth is this smell wears off almost immediately after using it and other people do not usually perceive it on you, but you can minimise this by whipping scented oils into the Shea butter. You can get Shea butter from a supermarket near you but if you want to buy in bulk at cheaper rates, you should check go to the local market. Do not forget to smell the Ori before buying; the stronger the odour, the better.

2. HOMEMADE COCONUT OIL
Do not get it twisted, generally coconut oil is amazing. Homemade or bought, it doubles as a skin treatment and hair treatment product just like Shea butter. For the hair, you could whip the coconut oil and Shea butter together or use them separate. It is totally up to you, but either way, you will get results. Your hair follicles will be stimulated and your hair growth rate will increase. I do not have to over emphasize the effects on your skin but it is very good to even your skin tone and it has long lasting effects, you can go a whole day without the need to moisturize or rub anything.
Now we move to the home made coconut oil. This is my preferred option because unlike Shea butter, coconut oil is more popular on the store shelves and I am never really sure it is 100%, so I make mine.
HOW TO MAKE COCONUT OIL
• Break about four coconuts, extract the coconut from the shell then, grate it. (Make sure you keep the coconut water).
• Put the grated coconut, coconut water and some clean water in a power blender and blend it.
• Using a strainer, extract only the water after blending.
• Put this water in a saucepan on a medium fire,
