Following the news about the accountant who was shot dead, two days ago calls came in to the family members of those travelling with him with demand for 10million naira as they were being kidnapped and not robbed as mentioned earlier.

That was when their car was traced back to Emure and and people who saw them leave town told the police that 2 men left with the accountant. One of the men kidnapped happened to be the brother of my very close family friend and 10million naira was demanded. This has thrown the family into confusion and they are threatening to kill the two if the money is not provided on time.

They are still out there, pls we need your prayer, may you not encounter such this new year. Rip to the dead.

Residents of Ekiti are calling on the government to step up security in the state due to the incessant killings.

The latest being the killing of an accountant who worked at Emure local government by unknown gunmen. He was said to have been trailed and shot at close range by the armed men alleged to be robbers on Wednesday, January 2, (yesterday) along Ogbese Ikere road.

The corpse of the deceased has been evacuated and deposited at the mortuary.

This is coming just few days after gunmen shot dead 37-year-old councilor representing Ado Ward 9 at Ado Local Government Council in Ekiti, Deji Akeredolu.

Akeredolu was on his way home at the Onala area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, when the incident happened.

Akeredolu and his wife were said to have alighted from a motorbike at the junction to their house at about 10pm when the gunmen struck and fired shots at him from the back.
