There are a lot of white, ukraine/Eastern European people living in the UK. A large number of the women have red hair. It is the most fashionable colour for them to dye their hair.

I'm certainly 'mature' and I use Facebook every day. In fact, I generate more sales via my Facebook pages than anywhere else. It is the most useful marketing tool I use. To say it is only for immature people is wrong. I advertise my latest products or special offers in the status of my business pages. Some I also share on my personal profile. I use the pages to refer people to my business sites, by posting links to my blogs. This not only generates sales, but can increase my Adsense income from the ads on my websites.

In the Uk, the majority of people in my age group are on Facebook and check in most days. It offers the widest spectrum of potential clients for the low marketing budget.

yuppy is British slang. It stands for Young Urban Professional Person. A 'yuppy area' is an area that was low class, had a lot of crime and poverty, but money has been spent on improving the area, attempting gentrification, to attract professional people to live in the area.


Peckham has been always been a 'rough' area, with lots of council and social housing and a high crime rate, and now they are trying to improve the image.

Who knows? SOme can, some can not. As for me I am sure going to try hard

Not that it matters, because I can cook foods from all over the world, so why should  learning Nigerian dishes be any more difficult, especially since he is teaching me his favorites.

I think the word stalked is used to lightly and too quickly nowadays. I was stalked continously by someone I had no previous relationship with and who it turned out had a history of offences. I believe that I use the term 'Stalked' correctly in this case, since it covered a period of several years, break ins, attempted attacks and long term police involvement.
However, some people use it to describe a situation where an ex lover tries to keep in contact for a few days/weeks after a relationship has ended. I do not think calling someone for a couple of days to try to persuade them to change their mind should be called stalking. Neither should a one of attmept to meet up for the same purpose. Someone you have had a relationship with coming to your house once, or being in a social place you go to occasionally IS not stalking in my opinion.

This stalking started about 12 years ago and covered about 8-9 years. Every time he came out of prison, he would be hanging around my area.

I've had a real expereince of a stalker, who was not an ex. It was a man I hired to do some yard work for me. I fired him when I found him in my house looking through my lingerie drawer. He had asked to use my toilet and took an unauthorised detour.
Shortly after, my house ws burgled, not once, but four nights in a row. It seemed that the person was trying ot get entry into the house when I was alone, but on police advice, I had a male relative staying with me for a few days.

On the fith night, I had gone to stay in another area for a few days, hoping the break ins would stop. That night a lady living about 5 mins away from me was raped and murder by an intruder. From that day on, I had police checks at my house every 15 mins and attack alarms all over the house.

It took over a year to catch the murderer, and he turned out to be a friend of the man who had done the yard work and the brother of one of my students.

I found out that the man who did the yard work was put on the sex offenders register for another offence and was sent to prison for a year.

When he came out, he was sat out side my office for several days in a row. I commented to one of the community police officers who shared the building.
the next day the police were at an area meeting,w hen the one I had spoken to called me from the meeting,a sking if the yard worker was still outside. I said no but he had been. My friend put the chief of police on the phone and I was told to go straight home, call a male relative to stay with me and not to open the door to anyone else except the police. There was a man hunt launched, with helicopters and police cars. It turns out htat this yard man was part of a gang that had been kidnapping young women and sexually assulting them, and police were looking for him.

He went to prison for another 3 years and when he came out, I bumped into him in a local shop. I was in a mess, shaing with fear because it was unexpected. Police couldnt do anything unles she commited another crime. I spoke to my landlord and within a week i had moved to another area.

The yard man is currently being held indefinately under the mental health act as he has commited several other sexual attacks and uses his low Iq to claim he doesn't underastand the consequences.

Yet it would be acceptable to a white lady in USA or UK, because here it is common for women to date younger men. All my friends are married or living with younger men. My son is married to a lady 9 years his senior.   I am the only one with a black man, the other hubbys are all white. The reason given usually is that women age better than men and men can't always tell how old a woman is. I get mistaken for my late 20's/mid 30s quite often, in fact one of my Nigeria WOMEN students told me last  week she thought i was 30 at most. My friend who is the same age as me got mistaken for 30 last week, by a WOMAN. I have had researchers in the street , women stop me and my friends because thye thought we were in our 20=30s but we are all grandmothers.

Besides which, women here give birth into their 50s.  Many women here donm't have their FIRSt child until they are past 40, and far from being unusal, this is seen as being acceptable and desirable. So you see, to those women in the UK, it would not be unusal for a man in his 20's-30's to be chasing a women in her 40s-50s, because white men do the same thing.

Nigerians online send flowery verses, offer to buy me cars, houses, clothes etc. They talk about marriage straight away and how God has directed them to me and how my children need to start calling him 'daddy'. They tell me they will die if i keep refusing them, and how can i deny God's wish that they be my man and take good care of me. They always offer to fly me out to nigeria for a visit. They are always telling me they are the big man, even when they most obviously are not. They are also sneaky. I am on my man's facebook friends, and the number of his male aquaintances on there who have sent me messages offering marriage, money, cars etc is unbelievable! However, to be fair, it doesn't say i am his woman on there. Nigerian men do not usually mention sex in their early approaches . They talk about my bust and bottom (apparently the only things i inherieted from my black grandparent was my youthful skin and my shapely ass) They tell me how pretty i am, how blue my eyes are. They will often partronise me, telling me i need not be worying my pretty little head over a business, because they are here to 'take care of my needs' (as an intelligent woman, that REALLY annoys me )

Turkiish men tell me i am beautiful and how they live in the tourist area, would i like to visit them, in return for them visiting my house. They tell me how they are looking for a wife, not just sex, and if only i will show myself on camera and look at them, they will show me the size of their d.ick blah blah They all claim to have at least 10 inches to put at my disposal and that they can 'go' all night.

Indian/pakistani/arabic men tell me how I am a vision and how they wish to make me realise the glory that i am missing by not taking a husband, and how they will offer to look after me, pay for my educaiton and care for my home. They hesitantly try to talk sex, using euphamisims that put this forums filters to shame.
They are more respectful than the Turks, but so are the nigerians.


I have a standard response which is 'I am sorry, I already have a man, and I am not looking for anyone else, but I am flattered by your interest'. My sons' joke that I have that saved somewhere and just copy and paste it, i must post it 20-30 times a day.

I met my man in my home town, at a bus station. He used none of the above approaches. He thanked me for my kindness and asked me if i would like to go out sometime.

Here in the UK it has long(centuries) been a tradition to 'toast' a bride, or to toast a couple when they marry. It was also comman to make a toast (raise a glass of wine and make a speech) to a beautiful woman.

In this case, toast means to make a speech of praise.

It is usually full of compliments and courtesies. I would imagine this is the basis of how the word toast is used in Nigeria.

Men compete for my attention. I don't compete for their's. If you feel you have to compete with a particular girl who he is seeing, even as a friend, then bow out gracefully. Be the one to leave with your head high and pride, rather than wait to be made to look a fool and be dumped. At the moment, he is breaking up with you slowly while he and the other girl see if they can be together or not. Why settle for being Plan B?

First of all, I am white and in the UK.

IQ tests are skewered so that western people have the advantage and will usually score higher than African people who have not been raised in a western culture. This is a poor definition of ACTUAL mental ability. I have a number of degrees and a 'genius' level IQ. However, if I was to suddenly find myself in Africa with no means of support, I would struggle to know how to survive and would need help. Even the smallest child would probablly have more idea than me as to what was safe to eat, what water I could drink etc. I know that Nigerian women would find the fact I can not cook their foods hilarious in a grown woman, but if i want to eat fish, i go buy it frozen from tescos, how to prepare a just caught fish is outside my world of experience. It doesn't mean I can't learn, it just means it has not been [b]necessary [/b]for me to learn. The same thing applies with the academic tests used to quantify IQ. If an african woman has never had to learn how to answer tests designed ot test spacial awareness, then why and how on earth would she be able to know that was what was being tested and translate the questions into terms she found relevant?

One of my jobs is teaching ESOL at a private college. One of my students is a lady from Angola who is studying Business. She is always saying things about how clever I am and how she feels stupid because she struggles with English, I have to reprimand her for her opinions. She has taught herself [b]4 [/b]languages, of which English is the most recent. She understands the maths, but struggles to translates the english words our maths tests surround the actual numbers with. The maths test is not just about numbers, how to add and subtract, but assume that the person doing the test has an innate understanding of both western culture and the english language. Again it is biased towards native english speakers, an issue which several members of the teaching staff working with non-english students have severe issues with.

Even the dreaded Nigerian scams which we are constantly warned about need a high level of intelligence and cunning to carry out! It often involves learning to use new technologies.

I can say that the african people I work with have high levels of intelligence, especially when you bear in mind they are operating in what is not their native language. I also think that they work harder because they value the education that many British young people not only take for granted but resent having to attend.

I think anyone, male or female are polgamous by nature. I think we are only monogamous by training and societies conditioning. I think it is perfectly natural for men to look at pretty girls and want to act on their urges, and by the same token, for women to see me who they would sleep with if they could. The difference is that some people choose to act on those impulses, while others choose to deny they experience them,

I'm British, dating a Nigerian man. You need to move on sweetie. It sounds to me like he has a legal wife already.
