Romance / Re: Why Do British Girls Love To Date Black Guys... by Serpentine(f): 6:25pm On Aug 08, 2012
Mrs.Chima:

So you didn't fall for the "Big Kondo" hype?

nope, thats not what i look for in a man. I look for humour and kindness and intelligence, which shows way before size enters the equasion. Its no good settling for a man who is big if his whole attitude and behaviour offends my sensibilities.
Romance / Re: Why Do British Girls Love To Date Black Guys... by Serpentine(f): 9:25pm On Aug 07, 2012
As a white British girl, I can say I dont love to date black guys. I love to date the black guy i am going to marry, but he is the only black guy I have dated. It is HIM i like, not black guys in general. To most people here nowadays, it isn't really a big deal what colour someone is when it comes to dating. At least that is what i see.

Romance / Re: Can You Love Someone Without Checking On Or Calling The Person? by Serpentine(f): 4:58pm On Jul 12, 2012
I call when I have something to discuss. I think it is childish to expect someone to call and text all the time.It annoys and irritates me when I feel someone is expecting me to check in with them every few hours. There is only so much you can say once the relationship is established before you are just calling to boost the phone company's profits.

However did we manage to maintain relationships before we had mobile Phones? Yet somehow we did, and people loved just as much.

Romance / Re: Isn't It Wrong To Chat On Your Phone While On A Date? by Serpentine(f): 3:08pm On Apr 02, 2012
If it is a first date, I will get at least one call. This is because I arrange for a friend to call to check I am ok. This is basic safety.

I have my phone switched on because I have responsbilities I have to deal with, date or no date and they will superceed any date.
There is a difference between answering one or 2 calls and chattering away constantly on the phone or by sms.
Personally, if I am on a date and he recieves a call, I would be more concerned if he didn't answer it. I think this shows bad manners. I think at least he should answer and explain he is busy and will call later.
Romance / Re: Do White People Pay Bride Price? by Serpentine(f): 5:27pm On Mar 21, 2012
We don't pay bride price in the UK. In the past, the bride used to have a dowery she took to her marriage, this was money and goods from her parents to her husband. If the marriage didn't go ahead or the couple split up, it was expected that the dowery was returned to her parents.

In more recent centuries, the tradition has been that the man presents the bride with a diamond ring on proposing, which should represent approx. 3 months of his income. Traditionally, the bride's parents paid for the wedding, but nowadays, it is more common for the costs to be split among the couple and their families. Most white women here in the UK would be horified at the idea of their father selling her to a husband as it implies she is property.
Romance / Re: She Says Her Virginity Is The Most Precious Thing In Her Life by Serpentine(f): 4:36pm On Jan 30, 2012
It may well be, untill she has kids and realises it was really unimportant in the grand scheme of life, and her kids are the most treasured thing she has.
Romance / Re: Ladies, choose a husband exclusively from this 7 options. by Serpentine(f): 12:30am On Jan 26, 2012
I would choose 5.
I know that even if he is broke now, we can work together to make sure that changes in the future. It is easier to not be broke than it is to make an ugly person handsome, an uncaring person to be caring and an unfaithful person to stop his wandering eyes.
Romance / Re: Why Oh Why Do Women Online Give Away They Were A Victim Of A"hit And Split?"-lol by Serpentine(f): 3:06pm On Jan 06, 2012
I have put similar things on my profiles, not for because of hit and run in the past, but because i get so many messages from men wanting sex partners or one night stands. This isn't even on a dating site, but on social networks. It is easier to just put the line on your profile that says you are not interested than to deal with idiots who think every women will fall for their crap.
Romance / Re: Children Produced From Green Card Marriage How Do They Feel? by Serpentine(f): 3:01pm On Jan 06, 2012
Like any other child whose father, what ever his race, abandons them. Leaving a wife/baby moma is not a phenomenen that is the sole responsibility of Nigerian men. Also, Nigerian men who leave their children, do not do so only to white women, or to women who are citizens of a different country.

Some men are good fathers and honor their obligations to the child, no matter what their reasons for being with the mother were. Other men are just not worthy of the name.
Romance / Re: Ladies, Would You Date/marry A Submissive Man? by Serpentine(f): 3:16am On Jan 04, 2012
I would vote no. I do not want a man who is submisive, or controlling.
I want a man who can take the lead with out being domineering, who has confidence in his decisions and is prepared to listen to my opinions.

Romance / Re: Engaging My Girl by Serpentine(f): 11:37am On Oct 27, 2011
Ask her close friend to advice you secretly. She can 'borrow' one of your girl's rings, which you can then take to have sized.
Romance / Re: Why Do Black Women Hide Money In Ther Bra? by Serpentine(f): 1:26pm On Oct 20, 2011
lol my mum, grandmum and my aunts all do this.

I have known friends go to clubs wearing skimpy outfits an keep money in their bra, so they dont have to bother carrying a bag.

My mum does it because she splits her money and carries it in different places. She always keeps money in her bra, so should she loose her purse or be robbed, she will still have enough money hidden to get her home.

A lot of her friends do the same thing for the same reason.

I'm in the UK and I am white.
Romance / Re: Get The Partner Of Your Choice Or Restore Ur Relationship Back With Just An Ebook by Serpentine(f): 7:01pm On Oct 05, 2011
1. If it is an e-book, why are there only 20 copies? An e-book doesn't need to be printed, it is simply emailed to open on a computer, so it is silly to say just 20 copies.
2. Why text when an e-book needs to be opened on a computer or a machine capable of opening pdf documents.

My man's sis and others here in the UK shake their heads at me when I turn down his offers of money and gifts lol.

They keep saying girl you need to learn how to chop $$ fast lol

I have told him when I come to Nigeria, I will ask for things to waste his money on buying me frivilous things instead of putting it to use to improve prospects.

Romance / Re: Dating A Nigerian Man In Belgium by Serpentine(f): 9:20pm On Oct 03, 2011
I can only tell you from my view point. Most of the time he is talking in my language. I do not begrudge him being able to relax and talk to his friends in his language . What I do is ask him to tell me words when we are alone. I also found Nollywood movies on my tv, and when i am alone, I watch them to get a 'feel' for the flow of the conversation (subtitles help) . I also found websites that list words and even have sound bites for pronunciation. When he is talking with his friends, i can now understand some (not all) of what is said. I know I am in this for the long haul and I WANT to learn about his people, his foods and his words.

The translation pages I looked at were in English, but you could copy the english words into Google Translate to figure out what they are in your language.

I have heard all the stories about Nigerian men, but being on here, I have heard the bad  opinions of White women, and they make me laugh they are so far from true, so why should the stories told in our countries about african men be any different in their genralizations and exagerations?
