Christianity Etc › Re: Why Smartphones Are No Substitute For Bibles by Setaje(f): 11:09am On Jun 14, 2015
doofanc:
Sister, a church is not the building but the collection of saints. Once two or three are gathered in His name, He is there. So what you cant use in the Church building shouldn't be used anywhere else. If you really want to go 'traditional' - whatever that means - then the scrolls, or engraved tablets would be more appropriate.
I would gladly use a scroll if I see one. How do u justify using a bible app on a phone or gadget that has porn on it. It makes no sense. Many youths have porn and do all sorts wiv their phones. To me it's like putting the bible and porn on the same shelf. Even we as humans, when we read the bible, we are meant to be purified in truth and in spirit. Not to talk of when reading that same bible through a gadget that has uncountable atrocities.

The Bible app ought to be used outside the church, not in the church. Like when a lecturer is yet to come, one can quickly go through the Bible(app) or when hanging out with friends. But when going to a formal church setting the hardcopy should be with you . The whole Bible app idea is to keep one always in touch with the word.
You are the only person and the op that has written something reasonable. I see the bible app as something you use when u are not in church. I see the church as a sacred place. Phones and whatever gadgets u carry are a no no for me. I can use the bible app at home, in a bus, anywhere but when I go to church, the traditional way still stands.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nestle!!!...why This????...sad!!! by Setaje(f): 4:49pm On Jun 13, 2015
RileyFreeman1:
I am sad and unhappy about how a specific Nestle recruitment campaign was handled by Nestle Nigeria. I feel even worse because research have shown that other people have experienced the same treatment. Some have experienced even worse.

I know there are Nestle employees here on Nairaland, so it will do me great joy if someone explains this situation and why Nestle does this.

I applied for an opening late last year with Nestle, luckily for me, I got invited for a Dragnet test which I gladly attended. Fortunately for me, I passed the Dragnet Test.
About a week after receiving a Dragnet success email, I received another invite from Nestle to attend a function based test which I did. Few weeks later, I received another email that I was successful at the Function test.

About 2 weeks later, I received an interview invite mail and call, I was happy at the speed and professionalism of the entire process because I knew no one working with Nestle and I was convinced that the entire process had been outstandingly meritocratic.
I attended the Nestle interview, very few people were present for the interview. I did my very best at the interview and as God will have it, about two weeks later I received a follow up email that I was successful at the interview.
I was very happy because Nestle is a company I have utmost respect for and building my career with such a company was a dream come through.

This is June the 12th, 2015, Its been about 5 months since I received the last interview success mail. I was concerned so I networked with some Nestle staff via LinkedIn.com. To my surprise, I was told some people did medicals and resumed about 3 months ago for the same opening. I was also made to believe that 95% of these people previously worked with Nestle as contract staff, now they have been made full time staff.

I initially felt bad but I also know about other interviewed candidates who received regret mails from Nestle after the interview where I received success mail.

It will be very much appreciated if someone from Nestle explains why this is happening.

Why have I been left in the dark by Nestle?

Why no follow up email has been sent since over 5 months?

What exactly is going on?

Do I still remain positive about being contacted by Nestle?

If possible, Nestle Nigeria HR should look into this because it seems like a very unfair treatment. A follow up correspondence to candidates who will work with you in the future will really ease a lot of tension. It also shows top class professionalism on your part as a company.
Same thing happened to my brother for Guinness. Since October last year. They even gave them i.d card and stuffs and they did training. Since that time, my bros never here from them.

MrPresident1:
Well spoken Sis.

The Igbos used Jonathan to marginalize the Yoruba, they acted as if Jonathan was theirs and they used him to try to settle scores. Jonathan's appointments was so BLATANTLY SKEWED against the Yorubas that they blind could see it. The Yorubas especially the youths retaliated by voting for Buhari against the advise of elders that they should vote Jonathan.

Igbos accuse Yorubas of treachery but they forget that in 2011, the Yorubas voted massively for Jonathan, Jonathan entered and the Igbos hijacked him and used him to spite and marginalize the Yorubas. No group of people intelligent and politically astute as the Yorubas will allow the continuity of Jonathan's administration in the light of what it represented especially if they have the power to change it.

We are all back under Gambari yoke because of petty foolishness, and mark me, the Fulanis are very smart, it will be very difficult to dislodge them now.

In the final analysis, it was not about the political sagacity of Tinubu who is just an opportunist, it was a reaction by a people to resist subjugation and domination.
You have said it all. Jonathan was very stupid to forget the people that fought for him against turai. I was arguing wiv someone that do not think yoruba vote alone can remove hausa. They will rule 12 years. The yoruba had better start shouting regionalism because the hausas I no who love to hold on to power will shift Base to the south east for help. Those ones in the south east will follow just to spite the yorubas again. Pettiness everywhere

When the Israelites in the bible were being ruled by prophets. At that time Samuel was the last prophet to rule Israel. The Israelite said they wanted change. They did not want to be ruled by prophets anymore. God was not happy with it either but he answered the Israelite by appointing Saul who happened to be the tallest among the assembled Israelite and he was chosen as the first king of Israel. You want a king! A king you shall get!. He had the charisma and demeanor of a king but What happened to the Israelites when Saul assumed position!!!!!!!!!!!?

This is the same thing I have said from the beginning. Do not align wiv gambari. We cannot exclude jonathan from the blame. He messed up greatly by neglecting the yorubas. He would have started wooing the yorubas long before election. Tinubu would have given the votes to jonathan like he did 2011. They would have signed a deal. And just maybe yorubas would be back to their glory in jonathans second term. It would have passed a message to the north. That the whole south can stand together.

Just look at what is happening now. I said it on fb and I am saying it here. Osinbajo eye go see wennn for Hausa hand. But osinbajo will not take half of what jonathan took. He will resign at the long run. Just watch!

Today, tomato, atarodo, tatase that I usually buy for 800 to 900. I bought for 2500. It was crazy. The women selling did not even beg me to come back when I left their front in annoyance. Went to those mallams inside inside the market thinking theirs would be cheap. Na lie o Tomato of 100 naira turned to 300. It was really bad. I now understand that each zone of the country has its purpose.

Was about to ask. How can u be successful and live your mum to be selling agbo and okpa eyin, shekpe, etc Why can't he open a big shop for her to be selling provisions and live a good life till she goes to meet her maker. It's a terrible business. If she wants to stay on that same line of business u can as well upgrade her to a wine shop. Which one be agbo!

@2nd Bolded text, she made those statements, she willingly accept the intercourse not Rape.
That is exactly what I saw. Although he said he could not penetrate her till the 5th time but I really suspect willingness on the part of the girl and because she must have already been exposed to such life staying wiv her mother who sells alcohol etc.

You guys say a lot of nonsense and u think you are making sense. Do u no what civilised countries do to contraband. I was watching a programme on tv. The one I watched, they burn contrabands seized by people at the airport. They don't even allow fake shoes and bags. There is a man there who specialises in distinguishing between fake materials and original. A Chinese man brought in leather LV belts. He said they were for his family. The patrol guy said how can your family need dozens of leather belt . Later they found out the Chinese man wanted to sell it. If u see forensic untop trying to distinguish between a fake and original LV belt. This particular border patrol was in Australia. Do u people not realise that China is spoiling the Nigerian market wiv fake products aided by Nigerians. Seems u have not seen fake China beads. Coral beads and the likes. Do u no we have China kind of Ankara, lace, tye and dye. This things are done right here in Nigeria why should China be Doing fake of it and importing it to Nigeria.. This people are spoiling our market. This are the people killing our youths indirectly. You are using China product made by Chinese people thereby developing their own economy and Someone here is talking of giving them to charity. No be only charity, na blessing! They should be burnt and both the foreigners and Nigerians involved should be paraded and sent to jail.
Politics › Re: What The Buharis Are Not Telling Nigerians by Setaje(f): 8:05am On Jun 07, 2015
It is very stupid to believe that Buhari is a saint. Number 1 as a former president of an oil rich country, he can never be poor. He has many entitlements and yes he is an above average Nigerian. I don't no why people are making him out to be a saint. As far as I am concerned all this things he is doing are just publicity stunt and it will harm him more because if he keeps hiding, his children and wife might not hide. Especially that his son that looks like a small thief already. ( just kidding).

Anyway, I think this is what the Nigerian public needs. Do not limit your investigations to politicians in the federal level. Start finding out things about local government chairman in your area, senators and house of Representatives members and publish it. Their life style, their children's life style, We should use the social media to our advantage. Spread the the news till it gets to serious to ignore. This will curb stealing and wreckless show of wealth and oppression. This may be the only way we can at least get something from the government.
