@Tomakint...Ekiti State politics is different from that of Lagos State. I personally voted for Opeyemi Bamidele during the last election in Ekiti. I think Lagosian will have to pray for that themselves but with what am seeing and hearing about Lagos(Ambode has really proved everyone wrong) is like saying APGA should pray that Obaino should be booted out but we all can see and hear that Willie Obaino is working just like Ambode too

Dear Nairalanders, News coming from Afao Ekiti (the home town of Gov. Fayose) has it that the First Lady of the state Mrs Feyisetan Fayose has left Ekiti State to Ibadan, Oyo State over the uncontrollable attitude and utterances from her husband(Mr. Governor). For some of us who are Ekiti State indigene and based in Ekiti remember that the first lady predicted that her husband will be the Governor of the State and she warned him to be careful of what he says so as to prevent what happened to him in 2006 when he was kicked out of the Governor's office but it's seems the stubbornness and hard metal heart didn't heed to that. Now the first Lady has prophesied that he care is not taken he will handcuffed and disgraced out of office.
With the tartum his throwing at the country's first lady and the Zenith bank saga and other issues surrounding him, don't you think he's wife's prophecy is coming to past gradually?

Seems the Mr 10 this and that (Tosyn2much) too dey Ekiti.

Politics / Problem Looms For 17 Lawmakers In Ekiti State House Of Assembly by Seyeah23(m): 9:25pm On Jun 18, 2016
17 Ekiti House Of Assembly Members In Certificate Forgery Scandal

Long suspected to be a well-scripted scheme by Mr Ayodele Fayose to have a firm grip on the House of Assembly to enable him play his games with the fortunes and fates of Ekiti people, The Monitors can authoritatively reveal that 17 members of the House of Assembly in connivance of Fayose forged their certificates to enable them contest the House of Assembly election.
Fayose had during the House of Assembly primaries dropped well-educated people in favour of the illiterate, artisans and the unemployed to fly the flag of PDP in the House of Assembly election.
Sources close to one of the indicted members said fear had gripped the concerned members over fate that awaits them over the latest discovery by the security agencies that 17 of the 26 members forged their minimum certificates required to qualify them to contest the election.
The Monitors can confirm that those indicted already know themselves and have been edgy on how to deal with a scandal that will send them to jail.
One of them, a female member from Ilejemeje Local Government, is already having sleepless nights over a crime that will consume her job and separate her from her family while serving time in jail.
Several others, including one of the most dissatisfied members in the Assembly, who also claimed to attend his secondary school in Ondo State, were trailed to the schools they claimed to attend, with stunning revelations showing that they were never certified as having passed the examinations to have the certificates they claimed to possess.
It would be recalled that last week, Fayose was on AIT accusing DSS of allegedly going to the schools attended by members to investigate them over the qualifications they claimed to possess, arguing that DSS had no business investigating the members' education backgrounds.
Sources close to Fayose disclosed that the governor's fielding of certificate forgers was deliberate, stating that it was one of their secrets in Fayose's possession to keep their mouths permanently shut in times of trouble.
"He knew that fielding them in spite of their criminal records was the only way he could keep their mouths permanently shut. Even at that, there is no member in that House that will say he did not swear to an oath of allegiance before oga allowed him to contest that election," a source close to Fayose said.
Regardless, The Monitors gathered that the security agencies, including DSS, went on multiple tracking of academic records of members, yielding unbelievable identities of 17 members in the House of Assembly of 26 who forged theIr certificates to seek the votes of Ekiti people.
Those indicted among members are already running from pillars to posts, seeking spiritual aid to get themselves out of their current problems.
Some are also reportedly seeking assistance of the well-connected in the society to help them bury the findings of the security agencies.
Will the security agencies fall for bribes to cover this crime? What are the roles of security agencIes in President Muhammadu Buhari's anti-corruption war?
The Monitors will keep you posted as events unfold.

Politics / Every State In Nigeria Can Pay Salaries - Peter Obi by Seyeah23(m): 5:59pm On Jun 13, 2016
Is Your Governor Finding It Difficult To Pay Workers Salary? Bundle Him Before Peter Obi For Solutions!

Former Gov. of Anambra State, Peter Obi has disagreed with those that said that Nigerian States are incapable of paying salaries, insisting that with prudence and rational prioritizing, each State can comfortably pay salaries and engage in other developmental activities.

Obi said that those in government spent a lot of money on things that were not necessary, while running out of money for projects that would enrich the people.

Using himself as an example, Obi said that when he was Governor, he did not keep guest houses, charter planes, travel with more people than necessary, fly Business Class, use bullet proof vehicles, among others thereby saving billions he used to offset close to N40bn arrears of pension and gratuity he met and had extra for effective developmental projects.

Says Peter Obi:

"If any Governor finds it difficult to pay salaries, let him consult me and I will freely and willingly divulge the secrets to him."

Sam Ortom, Oshoko Fayose, Seriake Dickson, Olusegun Mimiko, Rochas Okorocha, Senator Ajimobi, Ogbeni Rauf, Nyesom Wike and all other JEGUDUJERA CLUELESS WICKED GOVERNORS who shamelessly brag that they cannot pay workers salary because of dwindling allocation from Abuja, hurl your putrid arse to Peter Obi to school you in Governance 101 #PayingSalaryIsAMust.

Politics / 10 Common Sense Reason Why I Won't Join The NLC Strike. by Seyeah23(m): 10:06pm On May 16, 2016
Since the NLC and the TUC are planning to stage a protest/strike against the Fed govt for the removal of Fuel subsidy, here are my
TEN COMMON SENSE REASONS WHY I WILL NOT JOIN IN THE NLC/TUC STRIKE.
1. NLC/TUC are working for the selfish oil cabals who are bent on milking this country for ever.
2. NLC/TUC attended the meeting with the FG where the decision was taken to completely DEREGULATE the oil sector. They agreed to the plan. However, they were disappointed when at the end of the meeting no BRIBE MONEY (the usual Ghana must go bag) was given to them for their cooperation.
3. NLC/TUC want to use ordinary Nigerians to force the Federal Government to bribe them or get. Government appointments.
4. NLC/TUC operate companies that are deeply involved in haulage/transport and other businesses. How many times have they invited Nigerians to share profits? Since the NLC/TUC loves Nigerians so much, why don't they import fuel and sell to Nigerians at #40 per litre?
5. Why has the NLC/TUC never pooled resources or gotten a Loan to build refineries to help the Nigerian people?
6. Where was NLC/TUC when billions of workers PENSION fund was stolen, when subsidy money was stolen under ex president Jonathan's regime?, When Deziani ( former oil minister) was busy looting the oil money?
7. If the NLC/TUC are not a bunch of self seeking individuals, why is it that you only hear about them in situations like this? Why have they NEVER come up with a blueprint on how the Nigerian economy can be improved, or programmes or ideas that can benefit the Nigerian workers?
8. I will not join in the NLC/TUC strike or indeed any strike against DEREGULATION because I know deregulation will benefit Nigerians on the long run. It will bring INVESTORS to build refineries, it will end fuel scarcity and hoarding.
9. Deregulation will ultimately bring down the price of fuel (like in the telecoms sector) Deregulation will create millions of jobs in the oil sector and will steer the Nigerian economy in the right direction. Members of the NLC/TUC know these facts but their self seeking greed will not allow them.
10. Yes, there will definitely be hard times. But Tough times never last but tough people do. China, Singapore, Malaysia etc took some radical hard decisions several years ago. Today, they are better off. If we persevere a little more, stay off religious ethnic bias, shun unfriendly friends like the NLC/TUC, and remain optimistic, I know Nigeria will be great soon. (IF YOU LOVE THIS COUNTRY- THIS IS THE ONLY COUNTRY WE HAVE- LETS CIRCULATE THIS MESSAGE TO ONE MILLION NIGERIANS BEFORE WEDNESDAY. YOU MAY BE SAVING SOMEONE FROM A STRAY BULLET

Politics / Fayose Fighting Dirty With Eco Bank. by Seyeah23(m): 6:09pm On May 09, 2016
If you miss the earlier thread this afternoon about GTB, Eco bank and Ekiti State.

Read below https://www.nairaland.com/3094936/gtb-eco-bank-close-down#45458686

Another revealed how Fayose Fights Ecobank Dirty Over Refusal To Part With N1billion Bribe

Facts have emerged over why Governor Ayodele Fayose is up in arms against Ecobank in Ekiti State.

Fighting from two flanks, Fayose launched his battle first against the bank over its refusal to meet Fayose's outrageous demand of N1billion in bribe as his share from the N5b loan granted former Governor Kayode Fayemi's administration, but instead the bank insisted to offer support for the state government infrastructure development by way of corporate social responsibility, which Fayose declined.

The Monitors authoritatively gathered that Fayose's anger against Ecobank dated back to 2014 when he emerged as Governor-elect. When Fayose discovered that Ecobank loaned the Fayemi administration N5 billion in early 2014 for the completion of some legacy projects, such as the New Government House, the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital and the Pavilion, among others, Fayose was furious because he concluded, though wrongly, that Ecobank gave Fayemi's government the loan to prosecute that year's June gubernatorial election.

When Fayose was sworn in on October 2014, he bared his fangs on Ecobank by ordering the withdrawal of a huge government fund to the tune of N800 million at a go!

The management of the bank sought audience with the Governor and pleaded with him not to run them out of business in the state.
Fayose listened to them and gave them a condition that the bank must be ready to part with huge sums of money, which Fayose said was for the development of the state but which in actual fact was a bribe that would end up in his pocket. The bank offered to part with some funds running into hundreds of millions of naira for the development of the state in line with their corporate governance policy but Fayose rejected this offer and insisted the bank must part with N1 billion before he would allow them a breathing space in the state. The bank felt scandalised by this ridiculous demand by the governor.

Fayose's another angst against the bank emerged when the governor levied all banks in the business district along the state secretariat on Bank Road in the state capital to pay development levy of N5milion each to repair Secretariat Road.

Ecobank and many other banks in the state refused to part with the money but Fayose singled out Ecobank and GTB for punishment by removing the culverts at the entrances to their premises so that no customer can drive into the banks.
The funds that Fayose forced the banks to cough out had been spent by him to do a shoddy job on the Bank Road, which he commissioned in its rough state recently with eight visiting governors in attendance.

Not done, Fayose brought his hammer on Ecobank by issuing a directive for all MDAs, civil servants and pensioners to close down their salary accounts with the bank while all government officials are forbidden from transacting business with the bank. We reliably gathered that Ecobank has weighed its options and chosen to let Fayose be for the next two years.

The implication of this is that the bank may be forced to close down all its branches in Ekiti State and lay off its over 100 staff who are Ekiti indigenes. The governor by his action is ready to throw over 100 Ekiti families into the labour market just because the bank refused to satisfy his insatiable appetite for primitive accumulation of wealth. 'Ore Mekunu' indeed!

For the pensioners and other respected senior citizens, they will now be made to go through the rigours of opening new bank accounts again when they should be at home enjoying their well-deserved rest after serving the state meritoriously.

Most of the individual pensioners accounts are jointly run by them and their children due to illnesses associated with old age( because they can't come to the bank again for transactions personally), and the self-acclaimed Governor of the people now wants to make these respected aged people suffer by withholding their pensions if they refuse to obey his directive.
The Monitors will keep you posted about further developments in the days to come.

Politics / GTB And Eco Bank To Close Down In Ekiti Next Week by Seyeah23(m): 1:55pm On May 09, 2016
ECObank And GTbank To Close-down Their Offices In Ekiti State.

There is an indication that ECObank and GTbank will be closing down their offices in Ekiti state starting from next week due to the scenario going on between the state Governor and the banks.
Due to the scenario, the Governor of the State has therefore instructed workers in the state who have their salary accounts in any of those banks to quickly change their accounts from those banks.
He further stated that any workers who fail to comply immediately must not expect any salary whenever it will be paid as the State government has nothing to do with those banks.
According to the news, out of many reasons that caused the rancor was how the banks insisted to grant loans/bond for the State Governor as requested.
The result of this scenario as regards of closing down of those banks may lead to the sack of workers in those banks.
To my own belief, “In looking for the solution, we must not be searching for calamity”
Retrenchments again in an area and situation of joblessness, how manage?

atbu1983:
Any form of reduction of corruption either by selective trial, hypocracy, vendetta, witch hunt, politically motivated or personal interest is welcome as long as the person is guilty and judicial process is followed. We should all support any reduction in corruption possible.

Corruption is a greater national problem than any of selective trial, hypocracy, vendetta, witch hunt, politically motivated or personal interest.
Corruption destroy the nation with 170 million people. selective trial, hypocracy, vendetta, witch hunt, politically motivated or personal interest only affect few who are guilty. When you have 100 thieves, it is better to catch 5 thieves even if the remaining 95 go free than allowing the whole 100 thieves to go free.

When people shout about not trying Amaechi , fashola and tinubu as the basis to completely ignore other corrupt people, such call is not for the progress of Nigeria. Such call is not realistic. People making such calls are hypocrite and insincere.

" A leader who destroys those who are devoted to him does not inspire devotion". Buhari knows this. That is why he would not go after Amaechi, fashola or tinubu. That is why the bible told us despite all the attrocities of David, God still called David the man after his own heart. Because david is devoted to him. If God can do that, who is ordinary imperfect human being like Buhari to do otherwise. However should amaechi, fashola etc continue in thier old way, then Buhari can jail them. Saraki deserve to be jailed because he wants to continue in the old ways.

You can only forgive a repentant thief or someone who believe in your course. In the bible, two thieves were lucky to be crucified at the same time with Jesus Christ. Only one of them Identify with righteousness of Jesus Christ. It was only that one that Jesus forgave. Is Jesus christ unjust by doing that? Saraki is an unrepentant thief like the second thief who was crucified with Jesus who refuse to change his path from darkness to light.

We must all support Buhari in the fight against corruption. It is for our own good.

When the new govt started from the PDP on corruption charges, they say they are selective them that they should start from there own party. Now they started from their own party(APC) which they did and this same PDP said they are witch hunting. Abeg, wetin dey worry una self.
