Okay I realize I have not been calling any trades here; as is the basic requirement. Starting tomorrow hopefully I can contribute what I can. Some little findings here and there not copied ideas or trades... I liked keeping a low profile better Ps: if I can get 5 likes, it means I have audience. If not I will recoil back into my shell and not fulfill my promise... |

AwesomeDuru: How to determine last swing high or swing low? It will be there for you to see. Or you could use the indicator called Fractals it's there on Metatrader. Post one of your charts on a 4hour time frame let's see. Let the candles not be too big Okay you were referring to swing and not S&R. I was remembering your previous statement about only trading at S&R. Don't worry I got you now. Go kick a**es. Cheers and let's be better friends man... |

AwesomeDuru: Honestly, looking at this chart, I wouldn't have found myself in a buy position in this set up. Instead I would have started selling at the break of the last low. It's how I trade. I enter the break of the last high or low and sometimes I wait for pullback before entering (note that the low or high that is being broken must be very significant zone before the break is considered a buy or sell signal). It works better on higher time frames with less noise.
Wrap your head around this and you'll notice a pattern. Remember to acknowledge strong Support and Resistance, that way you don't jump in when the trend is already worn out.
This is mostly what Currentprice does. Other times he just discovers strong S&R and then buys or sells at their breaks or retests. Great work and sorry for quoting you again. But I try to use the lower time-frame so to see the results of many trades quickly. If I want to research daily (research not trade) I just use code to backtest. How do you determine last high or low among the many on the chart?? |

redsox11: Intra-day: Today- I'd love to see GJ go take out last week high for a good sell area. Thanks chief. I understand what I should backtest (and figure out. I am not lazy ) . Something like MR + S&R right?? |

LOL you guys should please stop using the word negatively na. Read again and it's not really negativity but advice from my own little experience and much background and actual check in this. It has been established that the market is very efficient and participation and competition is high. That it is vulnerable to technology and many things like that. I was just hoping to nudge you and whoever cares to listen in the correct direction that could get you to your destination faster and easier. It is up to you to choose WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. However you need to apologize to the bosses in the house for your empty threat. You will hurt only yourself by carrying it out... |

AK284: I understand your that kind of pain, the most important is to know what works for, no book, guru will teach you that ; A guru may give a very profitable strategy and you will still make a mess of it , there many things involve than making a right make calls, thats why I fume at people who give alerts and they don't trade, for example:"Every time I approach the market with patience,I make money, but once but I once I want to turn $200 -$2000 in two weeks having turn $15-$500 in about 2month not even trading full time but I used tight stoploss. from that I have understand what works for me and I am building on that. Pls Reevaluate every thing and find the problem. you can do it Thanks man. Honestly it's not just pain speaking here. It is a logical realization from my little experience. I haven't been picking up a fight with anyone. As painful as it may sound for some hard work will not always work in some cases. You can say or do anything you want but the market does not care. What is wrong with recommending correct education over vet difficult toil. This is money we are taking about and it has always been much much easier for the better educated. ... I am not going to talk about my trading under these circumstances. I will just say that I am not someone who easily accepts everything he reads/hears. I realize that my statement about fibo and Elliott has been misconstrued. I said they don't make a lot of sense to me. Why should they |

AwesomeDuru: No offence taken at all. I'm learning and would be doing myself a disservice by getting into a kerfuffle with anyone on here.
But to answer your question though, yes I have found what works for me. When you stare at charts for far too long you'll begin to put two and two together and the whole great puzzle starts to piece itself together.
4 weeks ago I was reading a book on Price Action by Al Brooks, I wasn't really reading the contents, but I was looking at the numerous charts in his book and that was when the light bulb clicked on. I started seeing a pattern that was consistent, one I hadn't taken note of before. I thought it was just the charts he chose to post that had that pattern so I went over to my MT5 and back tested on different currencies and it was the same.
I have been trading this strategy since then, no indicators whatsoever, just naked charts, fine tuning my entries wherever necessary. I only draw support and resistance to determine where to take profit and ensure I'm not jumping into a thread that has hit top or bottom.
4 months demo trading, and I'm already on my second $100 capital. I got the first one to $200 and then started a new one on Monday last week (picture attached). I will do this three more times before going live. I don't care how long it'll take - 6 months, 2 years, - however long it takes, I'll wait it out and then I'll go live. Because I have often heard it said that Live trading is a totally different ball game from demo so I wouldn't think of it much if I eventually blow my account on my first try. I have found that most people who go live don't even have enough knowledge of what they are doing and when they eventually blow their accounts, you see them groaning everywhere on ForexForums.
Let's keep learning and grinding, there is no one who knows it all in Forex, all we have are people who have learnt with experience. Nice enthusiasm and effort. Keep the fire burning and I sincerely wish you the best and consistency with the method you found. I blew my account last year after 1 year of demo trading. Maybe I was careless or financially indisciplined (I didn't use stops!). It was something that worked on demo only to fail on the first live trade... I have seen S&R, trend lines, bb etc etc work and fail an almost equal number of times. Trust me I know how to stare at charts both live and historic for hours on end... The bottom line is you may never truly find confidence or even long-term consistency from experimenting on your own or using a system whose actual basis you don't know or doesn't make sense to you; like Fibonacci or even the great Elliot... I am sure the market is setup to gratify only those ready to settle for like under 50% (or much lower) annually. I think most systems just break-even over the long term. Some people can be very lucky and/or very smart. I am not sure effort or even learning is enough. But I think learning is faster and better... And reading your comment again, wow! You doubled your demo in under 4 weeks after reading a book? Please think about how many know what is in that book and how many people have been doing that consistently. I don't want to burst your bubble but it is too good to be true and I think it's the market leading you along to the slaughter. Please be wary. Or if you doubled the account with a previous system, why have you now shifted?? |

I think the best route to success is access to people who really know the market. Trying to figure things out yourself using babypips education and and even lots more you get in the retail space. God bless Ramos a million times. Too many curses here for a hero for us madridistas. Salah or no Salah Real were always going to win it. How about we mention the exploits of Bale and Benz I'm sure Salah fasted on the day; thus was hardly fit. Basically you cannot do that in a final against a team that knows how to win like Real Madrid. I just hope Madrid don't get put off by the business of fasting in May. We can sign Salah to play the whole season; then sit out the final. Real can do this coz there is always a selection dilemma anyway... Lol merry Xmas |

MitrikDenholm: Aso oke, sure.
But agbada? Lol! Yorubas got the boubou/babban Riga from hausas. That's why they are the only non sahelian non Muslim majority ethnicity that use it. It's used by Malians, touaregs, Wolofs, and the original credited inventors tukulors ( who are a sub branch of fulanis), these are all sahelian people BTW.
And while we are at it let's talk about the dashiki ( gotten from danciki or inners). I'm sure your people use that as well.
There's nothing wrong with this, but if you want to start developing some kind of superiority complex. Lol! Lolol; I am yoruba also. But I really really love your retort. Spot on bro/sis; keep at it... We don't need superiority complex anywhere in the world I particularly like it further when someone actually learns the history. Wow... |

ikihealthplus: Sorry for the long read,
I finished service Dec 2017 and got a job in the state I served, was excited and told dad, dad told me he doesn't like that one that he wants me to work in a firm (he has some contacts there)
Although I knew the Gen. manager Coz I worked with him in 2015 for a few months. Meanwhile dad got a job for my younger sister in that same firm. I told dad that I won't want to wait beyond February since he was certain I'll get the job, he assured me. January passed, met the CEO and he said he'll get back to me in a month's time, prior to meeting the CEO, I had already called the manager and told him that I'm almost done with service, he said I should come meet him in January, old dad, my dad said I shouldn't meet him that I should meet the CEO, so I obeyed. So when I met the CEO, he called the manager in my presence, I had this awkward feeling but I kept my cool, the manager told him I've worked with him before. So they said they'll get back to me. a month passed and I kept going to and fro to hear their feedback but nothing was forthcoming,
Met the GM, he told me March but no specific date and told me the salary I was to be paid, I was OK with it, towards the end of February I sent an email to the CEO that I haven't heard from him and got no reply, had to visit the firm. Met the GM and he said I should meet the CEO, while waiting to see the CEO, he told the security man to tell me to see the GM, he was told I've seen him and he told the security to tell me to go home, I got sad and told dad that I'm fed up that I need to go to where I'm needed not where they think they're doing me a favor, dad sent and called both GM and CEO an SMS and calls resp but got no reply.
Meanwhile I travelled to go and secure a job in the state I served, my sister now called me that the GM told her to tell me to come see her, I felt awkward Coz I chat with him on WhatsApp and visit him often so why wasn't I called directly? I came back, went straight to see the GM and he told me the CEO has changed his mind about my salary that about 33% was slashed from it, that I should start with it.
Meanwhile the other job I got was a better offer with good incentives, dad wants me to work in that firm but I told him I'm not accepting the job but he's insisting, pls I need your advice Coz I need a place where I can work with peace of mind.
Please, help me push it to FP Bro I don't know or like a lot of office stuff; and my opinions don't really get popular with many people. If I were in your shoes; I would tell my father everything I am thinking in a very respectful but totally honest manner. Having heard your views and fears he will absolutely tell you what he thinks is best. Nobody else can wish you better than your parents. Always obey their instructions finally. This is also obeying God. It should not be hard at all... |
