@goodguy100 Hi, it would be easy if you have found yourself a registered company in Singapore which is ready to employ you so that they will be the one preparing the necessary paperwork. Also could you tell me your minimum academic qualification so that I could confirm if you fit the category of unskilled worker? You may wish to send your detail at my personal email cons.nikki@yahoo.co.uk |
Basically Singapore is attracting foreign talents to make the country their second home. So, if any of you who are exceptionally intelligent and think that you have something to offer to the country, then Singapore welcomes you with open arms. It is not easy to gain admission to the National University of Singapore so whoever is accepted is that uni is very licky indeed. For more advice, you guys might wanna write to this guy at his blog http://travellers-advisory..com I know him personally and he has been staying in Sg and M'sia for long. |
Visa free means you don't need a visa to enter Singapore but you would need to carry a BTA of USD1000. |
http://travellers-advisory..com Write to this guy. He has been in M'sia and S'pore for a long time. I think he would be able to assist you better. |
@deemax http://travellers-advisory..com/ http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/momportal/en/home.html I came across this blog which offers advice to those who intend to move to Sg or M'sia. Hope they can help to answer your queries. The other URL link is the address for the ministry of manpower in Singapore. Salary-wise, I'm not sure jaare but I know those in the Maritime Industry earn a good pay. The minimum salary a Masters degree holder earns is about SGD3300 and this year job seekers can expect higher starting salary due to better economy. |
We can be very nice to you if you approach us in a good manner |
goodguy100, Thanks for liking my post ![]() Basically, the wages for unskilled jobs range between SGD500 and SGD1,000 depending on the nature of the job. Some cleaners are paid SGD800 monthly and this is inclusive of their CPF (Central Provident Fund) contributions. The Indian nationals who are doing construction jobs are taking home as high as SGD1,500 per month so it is really dependent on the job and the performance of the company you are working for. |
Wats up? Wetin dey happen? Thank you for welcoming me aboard. I am a Singaporean and I have just joined the forum site today. |
Malaysia is a country worth travelling to, but as a holiday destination only. Things are cheap and there are beautiful places for sight seeing as well as great discos for clubbing. If you are thinking of settling down there either to work or to marry, then I suggest you forget about the idea. Firstly, the government no longer welcomes foreigners to seek employment there as they are now focusing on their citizens who are mostly jobless eventhough some of them have high education. Secondly, the English language is not widely used, thus there is communication barrier betweeen foreigners and the common people. Thirdly, as opposed to Singapore, the discrimination in Malaysia is higher. Fourth, you would end up spending more in order to get things done because of corruption. Malaysian chicks are not worth marrying because they are only after you for two things; sex and money. Most Malaysian men have low sex drive or can't perform at all, hence even the married women are seeking enjoyment outside their marriage. The malaysian women marry mainly for comfort. If you are able to give them comfortable life in terms of monetary aspect, they don't mind to be with you even if they have to be your 2nd, 3rd or 4th wife. In gist, the Malaysian woman is not a wife or girlfriend material. By the way, Malaysia has a high record of HIV and diabetes as a result of unprotected sex, sharing needle for drugs and high sugar intake. You do need a visa to enter Malaysia but that still does not guarantee you entering the country. I've got a friend who obtained his visa from the embassy in Naija but upon reaching Malaysian immiga, he was deported. Story |
busman, I am a Singaporean and I guess I am the best person to ask if you have any query about my country. It is true that Singapore is a very clean country and we have a Clean & Green Campaign to support that. The banned of chewing gum derived from some irresponsible people who knew how to chew but did not know how to dispose properly despite the existence of rubbish bins at most places. No doubt the government is very strict when it comes to rules and regulations but if it is for the benefit of the country and its people, why complain? Next, our currency is SGD1=USD1.414 so please work it out in terms of naira. If you intend to stay long, do make sure the amount of money you bring is enough to substantiate your stay. Singapore is a labour-intensive capital because we do not have natural resources, therefore the people become the country's asset. Currently the government is encouraging foreign talents to invest or work in Singapore, ultimately making Singapore their home. This move made by the government derives from the latest trend that many of us are educated abroad and while some of us choose to stay and work overseas, there are others who got married and refuse to come back. Now there are even incentives for permanent residents who are applying for a house here. This country has a literacy rate of 100%, so you wouldn't be afraid of losing your way as you can approach anybody on the street to ask for directions. Even the least educated person is able to converse in English as it is mandatory for all Singaporeans to go to school by the age of 7. I am sorry for those of you who had encountered bad experience during your stay here, especially for those who felt they are being alienated. I guess it works the same for all countries because that was the same experience I had when I first joined your community. By the way Singapore is indeed visa-free for Nigerians. Upon reaching Sg immiga at the airport, you are to produce your Health card (yellow card) and BTA (Basic Travel Allowance) of USD1,000. Feel free to write to me personally if you need more clarifications. |
