soulstar09:
Heard about ICOs beforehuh?? if u haven't, here is a summary....
ICO is the abbreviation of Initial Coin Offering. It means that someone offers investors some units of a new cryptocurrency or crypto-token in exchange against cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum. Since 2013 ICOs are often used to fund the development of new cryptocurrencies. The pre-created token can be easily sold and traded on all cryptocurrency exchanges if there is demand for them.
*Etherium, when it was first launched was offered to investors on ICO basis. A minimum of 50 billion etherium coin was given out freely to various individuals who showed interest . When the coin gained grounds and penetrated the cryptocurrency market fully, these individuals sold the coins at inflated prices and made huge profits with zero investment.*
I've been benefiting from ICOs since 2014. All these etherium and Ripple making rounds now were once given out for free in large amounts. Anyone who was opportuned to obtain them in large amounts then will be selling them at huge price by now {meaning huge return on zero investment }.
note : you can withdraw the token Into your etherium or bitcoin wallet any time you want...

PoliticsDear Mr. President: I Must Speak Up Lest I Choke In Silence! by ShaddyTerese(op): 1:47pm On Dec 11, 2016
DEAR MR. PRESIDENT: I Must Speak Up Lest I choke in Silence!
Dear Mr. President,
Sports in general and football in particular are undeniably the most uniting force on earth. In fact that is to say the least.
Sir, one reoccurring scenario in our sporting industry in Nigeria headed by the Minister of Youths and Sports which to re-emphasize is a football/sporting Nation which has produced countless world stars that have written their names in Gold is the issue of owed allowances and “financial challenges” that our patriots who are willing to give their all for the glory of their mother land have go pass through every time they are participating in an event or after they return from such competitions.

Sir, it is still fresh in my mind the incidence that occurred during the Rio Olympics where Team Nigeria was stranded in Atlanta because the NFF had not paid the required bills and Mikel Obi had to pay off the bills only to be reimbursed later.

Shortly afterwards the Super falconets put up a poor display during their competition and after elimination came home. The stories that trailed the incidence didn’t sound well to listen to. Stories like the ladies played without their inner wears, were not paid match allowances and on return no allowances were paid to them. Rather they were each given the sum of N30,000 each to return home. If these girls put up their best but it turned out not to be good enough, is that the way to treat them? Are they no longer our children?

To the latest one: the victorious Super Falcons. Same issues; owed allowances. Sir, I feel the height of patriotism has been displayed by these girls and nothing should be done either by omission or commission to dampen their victorious spirit. If we don’t see any reason or hope in standing for our country then what is left of Her in the first place?

The fact that the country is currently in a recession is no news but that factor should not be exploited on wrong grounds and most especially not after the outstanding performances of these girls. If the NFF or the Presidency wishes to show commitment towards these girls, I believe that “sacrificing” their own allowances for just a week is enough to fix this mess rather than blaming it on recession. Are the NFF officials not collecting their salaries and allowances as at when due? Mr. President, is the Minister of Sports not paid as at when due? Or are the players the less important party/scape goats? Why do we always have to embarrass ourselves when it comes to offsetting the bills of our athletes and coaches when other countries that failed to achieve our feet are celebrating theirs? (The President of Cameroon hosted their ladies for coming second position).

A lot of our sport heroes have died in penury in a country they gave their all for. Coaches have died only for us to hear that their salaries were been owed for months. What has happened to the line in our National Anthem that the says “the Labors of our heroes past shall never be in vain”? why do we take pleasure in celebrating people after death rather than appreciating their efforts while they live amongst us?
Sir, it is my utmost belief that governance is a holistic process and the approach to it must be holistic too. Your efforts in other fields are commendable but I must say that if the issue of the Super Falcons is not promptly resolved with due apologies given to them along with other pending issues, the spirit of the common Nigerian who aspires such a feet will be discouraged because of what use is there is serving a country that will not recognize your efforts?

The comments attributed to the Minister of Sports have left me wondering with a lot of words I would rather keep to myself. But if change of leadership is what is needed then I trust you to do the needful because if at the end of the day, your efforts in the field of sports are counterproductive, what will be remembered is that you failed in that aspect and not your minister.
This is my solemn submission as a concerned citizen who values the holistic progress of my dear Nation above all else.
When we all pass away, we might not be remembered for who we were but what we did and it is on that basis that posterity will smile or frown at us.

In conclusion Sir, having keenly followed your campaign train, I will remind you of the words you spoke out in Chatham house in London: “if elected, I intend with your support to build a nation were hard work and dedication is rewarded, where honesty is rewarded rather than punished”.
You have always been a man known for having the courage to do the needful. For these girls and indeed many other Nigerians, they might not have another yardstick to judge or access your government and leadership style other than this singular incidence and may no Nigerian loss faith in Nigeria on the basis of your actions or in-actions as the President of our beloved country.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA… the land of my Birth.

NIGERIA: A FERVENTLY RELIGIOUS AND “FANTASTICALLY CORRUPT” NATION.
…Sieving hypocrisy from reality.
By
Akpem Terese Shadrach
Terese990@gmail.com. 08066459317.
The different regions of Nigeria are dominated by different religions, but rough estimates place 50.8% of Nigerians as Christians, Muslims are at 47.8% while other religions and beliefs share the remaining figure.
Missionaries came to Nigeria as early as the 16th century but it was not until after World War 1 that churches were founded. While active participation in religious practices is recorded at a high of 93%. This may come at a price, those practicing traditional religious beliefs are allegedly being oppressed.
If you have ever been curious about finding out the religious status of Nigeria as compared to other countries in the world, you will realize that we are rated very high as far as matters of religion are concerned.
Many platforms have also carried out surveys to rate the religious status of various countries in the world and I all these, Nigeria has always been in limelight.
BBC aired the result of their survey called “WHAT THE WORLD THINKS OF GOD”, a survey of peoples religious believes held in about 10 countries (US, UK, Israel, India, South Korea, Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia, Mexico and Lebanon) with the participation of about 10000 people; your guess is as good as mine. Nigeria did well in the ranking and on the other hand, Russia and South Korea fell in the list of the least. Our marvelous Nigeria stands out as the only country where 100 percent of those that participated in the poll said they believe in God. As dangerous as it may look, Nigeria performed extraordinarily well as the country where more than 90 percent of her populations are ready to die in the name of religious conviction. Furthermore, more than 90% of Nigerians who participated in the poll believe that their God is the only true God; more than 91 percent said they regularly attend religious services while 95 percent said they pray regularly. And now to the matter that interests me the most- going by that poll, 96 percent of Nigerians accepted that believing in God makes for a better human being. Wonderful! Now let us evaluate this in practical terms.
Let us take it one after the other, 100% of Nigerians more or less believe in God. Is there anything wrong with that? Of course, there is completely nothing wrong in believing in God, in fact I believe that everybody on this earth believes in God one way or the other, atheism in the real sense of that word does not really exist, atheism in itself is a believe system, the truth is that many people in trying to differentiate themselves from generally accepted norms at times go to the extent of self deception, that is why some will rather tell you that they believe in a greater power only if that greater power cannot be called God; we are not going to argue about that, call Him whatever you wish- higher power, greater power, super power, the fact remains that we all somehow recognize His existence, there are still so many unanswered questions and not few coded mysteries about our universe that science is yet to clarify, till that clarification comes and very convincingly, I will continue to believe that there is a higher or greater power and that greater power I have chosen to call God. Big plus to Nigerians, for been bold enough to acknowledge the existence of God but a bigger minus for been one of the least saintly/godly nations on earth. (Do you agree?). Until recently, Nigeria was shuffling between the most corrupt and 3rd most corrupt country in the world index. I felt surprised when I searched the recent index and didn’t find them among the first 10 most corrupt countries (my prayer is gradually been answered). Every Sunday and Friday of the week is very important to Christians and Muslims in this country as we go out in our numbers to worship and offer supplications to our creator. As religious people, we are entitled to abide by His teachings which of the greatest, He said; “love your neighbor as you love yourself”, another part of it says that what He wants is not our fat burnt offering or “millions” but the help we are able to render to the poor and helpless. We attend church services were some seats are off limit to the regular worshipers, you dare not seat were you don’t belong. We go to worship centers where we have “stinking” rich people sitting in the same hall with “stinking” poor people. Even if you have a car you are not allowed to park it around the space for the big church supporters. Offerings are graded. An usher/pastor tells you don’t offer below a certain amount and it gets you thinking whether God has set standards for what you can afford. Since such attitudes are displayed right in our worship places, it becomes obvious why the larger society isn’t any better. The number of churches increases daily but that hasn’t checked the level of crime in the society. The young man with a gun around his waist is the same one that sat next to you on Sunday. The young lady posing as a prostitute is the one that ushered during the service. The civil servant signing money away is the one that gave the highest donation in church and the politician looting our common wealth was either in a Friday Jumat prayer or Sunday church service.
My journey from the most religious country to one of the least religious countries in the world empowered me with unquantifiable experience, if 95% of Nigerians regularly attend religious activities and we still have the society where our moral standard and social interaction doesn’t depict that of people who worship a God that has emphasized love then it leaves us with a question mark. Russia, Korea, China, Norway…have very high indices of Atheists in the world yet they are the countries dictating the pace of global affairs. Imagine what will happen if Russia decides to cease crude oil supply despite the fact that they are not among the OPEC nations. Imagine what will happen if China stops giving out aid to the rest of the world. Yet these are the so called Non religious countries which happen to doing quite well. Crime rate is at its minimum in these places. How do we explain that?
my dear country is flooded with religious scandals on a daily basis: pastors sleeping with church members, church leaders running with church funds, etc. these revelations only makes us wonder where we are headed but the answer is not far fetched. We might have gotten the record of a highly religious people but the one we actually have is that of a highly hypocritical people.
The most dangerous of all was that Nigeria came first as the country where more than 95% of her populations are ready to die in the name of religious conviction while 90% firmly believe that their God is the only true God. I think that the dangerousness of that result is in black and white. In a country like Nigeria that is divided equally by the two religions of Christianity and Islam, coupled with the high intolerance at all levels, the result portends a great danger. Think of the endless religious crises that we have been witnessing in Nigeria, now imagine those conflicts taking a wider range, visualize emergence of “rascals” in the south, the type that are been nurtured and sponsored in the north to unleash mayhem on innocent people, finally think of what the end product will look like- horrible, more awful than anything dreadful that country has ever witnessed.
Furthermore, 91 percent said they regularly attend religious services and 95 percent said they pray regularly. Notwithstanding that Nigeria is stinking, the prayer I think, still make so many people to either pretend that they are not perceiving anything or to be strong enough to cover their noses with anything available thus allowing co-existence no matter how artificial it may look. I think that God has a hand in keeping Nigeria as a nation till date and even making her the “happiest” nation in the world. sometimes our hypocrisy becomes so difficult to hide that since the President is from the North, he has a northern agenda and if he is from the South he also has a southern agenda. Our holy books demands us to pray for our leaders and country but we would rather pray that God rains fire and brim stone on this nation…I guess that’s what we have on our hands.
The one that interested me most is the next: over 96 percent of Nigerians accepted that believing in God makes for a better human being. It carries weight don’t you think so? Before now I had thought that better human beings make for a better society; can a country of better human beings also be one of the most corrupt country in the whole world? Insecurity, indiscipline and selfishness, are becoming custom in the country of God. What a contrast! Although we pray regularly, attend religious services yet our characters testify fully against all that. Could it be that we have bad teachers or are we simply bad listeners? Whichever one it is, the facts remain that the church and the mosque has the least positive influence on the Nigerian society, that churches are occupying every available spaces in this country has not made any of places the best place to sleep with two eyes tightly closed. Infact I have listened to the news severally were churches were robbed. Am not pushing the works of security agents to the church or mosque but you must agree with me that 96% BETTER persons can easily transform the remaining 4% to BEST persons.
I don’t know about you but I would rather chose to relate more closely to that adamant atheist or to that person who believes that David Beckham is more influential in his life than God as in the case of England where about 36% of the people that took part in the poll said that Beckham is more influential their lives), if that person is principled and of good character, such person will without doubt be easier to handle than a wolf in sheep’s clothing, am talking about that person that acknowledges the existence of God, not just that, but also claims to believe in Him, and then goes further to accept that believing in God makes for a better human being, all these notwithstanding, his life is nothing but a public display of the opposite.
The church should recognize that they are loosing the battle, we need retreat, repositioning and a new strategy of attacks, high number of church attendees and uncountable numbers off church buildings and sign post should not deceive anybody, results should be measured by what is on the ground, there is little or no behavioural evidence depicting what we claim to be.
If am to murder sentiment and draw conclusion from the facts, I will without fear or favour say that Nigerians are the greatest pretenders in History, we pretend to believe in what we in reality never believed or do we actually believe but have chosen to subdue any positive reflection that such believe can bring? Thereby, reducing ourselves to a mere object of mockery.
Yesterday, the President of this country launched the National re-orientation campaign: “change begins with me”. I believe that is the message Nigerians need right now. We can wail all we want about how this administration is failing us but one thing we cant deny too is that fact that we have greatly deviated from the sanity this country once had. Change cannot be possible if our attitude doesn’t welcome it. If our lifestyle isn’t fashioned to drop our wrong yet conventional ways of doing things then we might as well be fooling ourselves.
He said, “Nigeria today is passing through a challenging moment where hardly anything works in a normal manner. Many have attributed this phenomenon to the total breakdown of our core values over the years(AGREED). “ There is no doubt that our value system has been badly eroded over the years. The long-cherished and time-honoured, time-tested virtues of honesty, integrity, hard work, punctuality, good neighbourliness, abhorrence of corruption and patriotism, have given way in the main to dishonesty, indolence, unbridled corruption and widespread impunity. “The resultant effect of this derailment in our value system is being felt in the social, political and economic spheres. It is the reason that some youths will take to cultism and brigandage instead of studying hard or engaging in decent living; it is the reason that some elements will break pipelines and other oil facilities, thus robbing the nation of much-needed resources; it is the reason that money belonging to our commonwealth will be brazenly stolen by the same public officials to whom they were entrusted; it is the reason why motorists drive through red traffic lights; it is the reason that many will engage in thuggery and vote-stealing during elections; it is part of what has driven our economy into deep problem out of which we are now working hard to extricate ourselves. “Every one of us must have a change from our old ways of doing things, we cannot fold our arms and allow things to continue the old way. “We must resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship, pettiness and immaturity that have poisoned our country for so long. Let us summon a new spirit of responsibility, spirit of service, of patriotism and sacrifice, Let us all resolve to pitch in and work hard and look after, not only ourselves but one another. “Rather than sit back and complain endlessly, we have decided to act pragmatically, with the launch of this National Re-orientation Campaign. The campaign will not be a sprint but a marathon that will run the course of our tenure. We are under no illusion that the changes we seek will happen overnight, but we have no doubt that the campaign will help restore our value system and rekindle our nationalistic fervor” President Buhari called for the buy-in of all Nigerians into the change campaign, with a promise that his government would provide necessary leadership for the desired results. “I am therefore appealing to all Nigerians to be part of this campaign. Our citizens must realize that the change they want to see begins with them, and that personal and social reforms are not theoretic exercise. If you have not seen the change in you, you cannot see it in others or even the larger society. In other words, before you ask ‘where is the change they promised us’, you must first ask how far have I changed my ways ‘what have I done to be part of the change for the greater good of society.’ “While the government will drive the Change Begins With Me’ … A punctual, diligent and hardworking staff can only be of benefit of not just himself or herself or the organization they work for but to various governments whether at local, state or Federal level,” he said.
all has been said. The ball is in our court and we must decide whether to remain in our current state or become more realistic about the faith we claim to have in our God and country.
God bless Nigeria.
RomanceSee The Letter He Wrote To His Dream Love. by ShaddyTerese(op): 10:28am On Aug 05, 2016
To a love I couldn’t claim;
The words you said to me that night left me more speechless than I was the day I encountered armed robbers who placed a revolver on my belly button… “I can’t do it you again”. We never did it before but the message was clear.
One thing I have been sure about in my life is that God gave me a gift of persuasion which I like to think I haven’t perverted it yet and all my life I have taken pride in the fact that convincing people comes to me easily but most of my “charms” seem not to work so well with you.
I have given up on the possibility of changing your mind otherwise but will be the happiest if that miracle happens. But I want to make one last move to tell you this: everything I told you that night was true. I am a terrible liar and I know it that is why I usually don’t bother to even try. But everything I told you seemed like a lie to you but it wasn’t. there are things that I never wanted to mention to you but since it has come to this, I will tell you.
The day we went out on your birthday (2nd July 2014),…isn’t it questionable that I went right into another relationship the next day? (3rd July). After that moment, I dawned on me that maybe that is as much as you wanted us to be… friends. But it wasn’t so for me. It was more than that for me. We had a connection stronger than I have ever felt before and I know you did too. And when I started with her it dawned on me that I had missed something…but coming out wasn’t easy either.
I couldn’t bear talking to you consistently because I knew I was hurting you. So I felt the best was to keep a little distance…and I guess that was wrong too. Its been two years and I remember it vividly…remember the first day we met? At Paradise hostel junction to head to peace house. I remember my reaction that day…and your look too.
I wish time didn’t run out of me, I wish I could make you love me again and end up like I always envisioned…it should have been you and I regret a lot of things. I cant change the past and if I had a way to get you back again I would have done so. Asking you to act like the prodigal son’s father might seem much but…
Its been 3 hard nights ever since we had that chat…remember this Sunshine: I didn’t use you and you were never my option two. You have always had a spot in my life nothing can replace.
Its a lot to ask of you but even if you don’t reply this chat or give me a second chance, remember that everything I told you is the truth I have kept in me all this while. (even though I have made believing me quite difficult for you).
For a heart like yours, may God grant you someone who will never toil with it again. I wish you well…for your request to remain as friends, I wasn’t just a friend. When we were together we went to places even lovers can only imagine of been there. So my dear, I cant be what I wasn’t in the first place.
BYE.
PoliticsLet’s Face Facts: Niger Delta Avengers And Their “agitations”. by ShaddyTerese(op): 11:14am On Jul 27, 2016
LET’S FACE FACTS: NIGER DELTA AVENGERS AND THEIR “AGITATIONS”.
The group seems to have dominated the political space and have no doubt wrecked a lot of havoc on the economic fortunes of our dear nation in a bid to get the attention of the government whom they claim to have ignored them for too long.
We all know that the current conflict in the Niger Delta arose in the early 1990s over tensions between foreign oil corporations and a number of the Niger Delta's minority ethnic groups who feel they are being exploited, particularly the Ogoni and the Ijaw. The NDA have attacked oil producing facilities in the delta, causing the shutdown of oil terminals and a fall in Nigeria's oil production to its lowest level in twenty years; so records indicate. The attacks caused Nigeria to fall behind Angola as Africa's largest oil producer. The reduced oil output has hampered the Nigerian economy and destroyed its budget, since Nigeria depends on the oil industry for nearly all its government revenues.
We have looked at the actions of this group from one perspective and I want us to evaluate the other side of the coin. Obviously the current administration didn’t mess up the region. It has been a perennial problem of neglect over the years. So for this group to resort to destruction of the nations facilities only leaves one to wonder if it is indeed the best approach to drive home their demands. I remember the President promising to implement the UN recommendation of Ogoni clean up which he made good on June 2nd. Now the NDA are destroying pipelines and still polluting the areas they claim they want cleaned up. It leaves me to wonder the direction their agitations are facing. The villagers are the ones suffering the effects because their main occupation which is fishing will still be hampered with, water will be adversely polluted and other environmental challenges detrimental to health.
Let’s think again for a minute. Ever since oil was discovered, a certain percentage has been given to oil producing states and still these areas have remained largely underdeveloped. Why are the Avengers not holding their governors to account for such funds? How can you agitate for total control of your resources when you have failed to account of the “little” that was given to you? How do you expect a right thinking person to agree with your actions when they are rather destroying the very things you are claiming to be fighting for?
The NDA's declared aims are to create a sovereign state in the Niger Delta and have threatened to disrupt Nigeria's economy if their aims are not met as we have been seeing in recent times. The NDA claims its members are "young, educated, well travelled...and educated in east Europe" their actions have not justified such a description. The group have criticised the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, for having never visited the delta and his detention of the Biafran independence activist Nnamdi Kanu. Are we still deliberating on why he was detained? Nigerians; we need to hush and think for a minute before throwing weight behind something we do not fully understand.
When this administration came on board, it was obvious that the good days were finally here. The economic fortunes might have been on the downside but we were hopeful. Power supply was on the increase, orderliness was instilled in service and corruption was and is still been given a hard fight. Suddenly the NDA boys started blowing up stuff and boom! Light didn’t get to gas it needed to shine, crude supply dropped and so on.
Some people feel Nigeria needs restructuring. I feel we need good governance. The NDA are agitating for a sovereign state but they have forgotten that before oil came, the North (agriculture) was our main stay. And when oil came, money from the north was used to develop the infrastructure to kick start the process. Its rather unfortunate the previous governments forgot the need to diversify which has led us to this mess. But don’t forget too that the North is intensifying efforts at starting exploration in the Chad basin. So no one owns this country and no one has the right to wake up and think our unity is dependent on them. The Biafra war came and went with its bitter memories and I hope there is no repeat of such events because the casualties will always be the masses. The NDA need to give these things a thought.
I strongly believe that we would have been better off if this crisis was not in play given the tempo the current administration came with so in the spirit of way forward, we all need to sheath our swords and dialogue.
The government on her part needs to intensify efforts in cleaning up and involving the youths of the area in more decent ventures, governors from such regions must also put the funds they receive as oil derivations to more productive use for the overall good of all. The NDA who claim to be educated and well traveled should also make good their claim by applying more decent and modern approaches and I believe the crisis will end sooner than latter because no group can wage war against a federal government and win without help from foreigners which I believe they do not even have.
In the spirit of way forward… lets allow Nigeria to progress for all our sakes. GOD BLESS NIGERIA. Terese990@gmail.com

LET’S SPEAK FRANKLY: COMMON SENSE.
Common sense is defined as the ability to behave in a sensible way and make practical decisions. Common sense refers to good judgment; sound practical judgment derived from experience rather than study. Common sense as a word which literally means something that is readily available seems to contradict “common sense” which is ironically “scarce” in our daily interactions with people.
We live in an era of civilization that has almost replaced our sense of humanity and reasoning. We act or speak before realizing the implication of what we did or said. The world on its part keeps progressing whether or not we do too. It is in the light of this fact that humanity needs to urgently address personal issues bothering our existence and living.
A walk down the street, market places, offices etc reveals statements like “don’t you have common sense?, use your head, common sense should have told you this is so or so”. It almost seems like our efficiency as professionals or individuals hinges on the proper application of common sense.
You train as doctor and what makes you a preferable source to the rest of your colleagues is your application of common sense. As a soldier, engineer, lawyer, architect, accountant, etc; how well you progress or make a name for yourself is solely on how sound your judgment on a daily basis is. It is one thing you teach yourself over time (experience).
Think about the choices you have make overtime; how sound have they been? in your profession or course of study, do you approach it with any touch of common sense? How about your relationship with your family, friends, and strangers? Truth is that there are no laid down rules on how best to effectively apply common sense to your life but just as you won’t have to call a weather man before knowing where the wind is blowing or whether or not the clouds are forming to rain, such discretion can be applied to even complex aspects of your life.
Carefully read and reflect on the suggestions below on how to develop common sense as it best suits your life:
 Familiarize yourself with the purpose and meaning of common sense. According to Merriam Webster, common sense is about exercising "sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts". This definition suggests that common sense depends on not over-complicating the situation (simple), applying experience and general knowledge to the situation (sound and prudent judgment), and implicit in this is self-trust that your considered experience is valid for future situations. Karl Albrecht calls common sense practical intelligence. He defines it as "the mental ability to cope with the challenges and opportunities of life". He explains that common sense is situational, dependent on context, and that your common sense in one aspect of your life might be excellent while failing abysmally in another aspect of your life. As to the purpose of common sense, it is basically thinking that prevents you from making irrational mistakes or decisions, a thinking approach that may open your eyes to the possibility that insisting on being right prevents you from seeing the bigger picture.

 Understand the ease with which the human mind is convinced that an idea is right contrary to indicators clearly demonstrating otherwise. We're human; we're fallible. And our brains work in certain ways as a means of providing shortcuts to ensure survival in a world where being chased by predators could end your life. In a modern world where caves and saber toothed tigers are no longer a constant companion, some of that reactive, split second judging can land us in hot water as we react instead of reflecting, assume instead of teasing apart the realities, and follow habit instead of challenging its continued utility.
 Divorce yourself from reality. This isn't an invitation to insanity. This is a request to consider that your sense of reality isn't real. What you see is what you've programmed your brain to see. And once you start down the slippery slope of self-confirmation that reality is only ever what you see it as, you're open to the possibilities of bigotry, selfishness, intolerance, and prejudice because you'll constantly seek to make everyone and everything else conform to your standard of reality, and your standard of "what's right". By divorcing yourself from this one-sided reality, and learning as much as you can about how other people perceive the world and our place in it, you begin to make room for common sense to grow because your sense is built on "common" experiences, not just your own.

 Acquaint yourself with your reflective mind. Reflective intelligence is about being able to stand back and view the bigger picture so that you realistically appraise the situation or environment directly around you rather than forcing yourself to conform to its suitability or practicing wishful thinking. After an accurate appraisal of the situation, a reflective mindset enables you to set goals that are realistic given the parameters you're working within, and to take sensible actions toward meeting those goals. In other words, just because other people do or use something effectively isn't a sign that it will suit you too; you need to put your own reflective mind to work on each situation to decide whether it will be a fit for you, your lifestyle, and those around you directly impacted by your decisions.

 Reacquaint yourself with your rapid cognition. The previous step has just suggested that you need to reflect more before you take decisions or act. But the obvious flipside to reflection is the reality that some things need very fast thinking and rapid decisions that will produce sound results. Rapid cognition is the type of thinking that tells you that you're not going to connect with a person the moment that you meet them, or that a poorly placed ladder is going to fall sooner rather than later and needs to be shifted pronto, or that you need to quickly jump out of the way of an out-of-control car now. How do you marry rapid cognition to reflective thinking under the rubric of "common sense"? It's simple - spend your reflecting time wisely so that you will react wisely when quick thinking is required. Common sense builds on your reflection over past experiences, enabling you to refine your understanding of the world and how it works time and time again.
 Learn things that are basic common sense. There are things that every human being should know how to do and not leave to another person, things that go to the heart of personal survival, self-knowledge, and long-term health and safety. In this way, you can learn common sense through practical knowledge and application, informing you accurately when times are harder or when you must react quickly. For instance knowing how to cook, earn morning, respect people and society, how to plan your life financially, how to analyze situations, how to fix basic items and devices, how to plan in advance, how to be resourceful, etc.
 Put new commonsense thinking habits into place. Take the philosophy, the psychology, and the popular theories behind how we think and add this understanding to the active ways in which you can use your common sense. Always try think outside the box to get some great ideas for restoring your sense of relying on your own innovative thinking processes.
 Practice mental flexibility. This is the ability to stay open-minded and to listen to other people's notions and ideas, even if they scare you or derail your own thinking. It does you good to practice mental elasticity and to stretch yourself beyond the things you think you know already.
If you put in the constant act of thinking things through carefully for yourself as well as learning all that you can about the world and other's thoughts about the world, you're well placed. You don't have to be highly educated; you do have to be open-minded and curious. And realize that this is a process, not a destination. You will have to make the mental effort throughout your life as to which messages you absorb and which people you allow to influence your thinking. Even this article is but one source of guidance on common sense – analyze it, critique its applicability to your own circumstances, and pick, discard, or adopt those things that suit you or don't fit with you. After all, doing so just makes plain Common Sense.
