Canada is more detailed with documentation more than America. If your husband can supply evidences of all the monies in his account, then you should be fine. He wont be the first business owner who doesn't have a payslip to apply for a visa. If he generates payslip but it is not recorded on his bank statements that is like misrepresentation. So be careful. All the best.

dan147:
I need reply... My family and I are planning to travel to Canada for the Xmas break, we have applied for American visa before but denied, we have also visited South Africa as family. My husband is a manager in his father's company but he doesn't receive salary but a part of percentage which isn't recorded ....thereby not having payslip. Can he generate any payslip and apply? We have a good bank statement, I don't just know why America won't give us.. What is our chances
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 12:16pm On Apr 12, 2017
You can check all the past posters and see the list of documents provided. Also, do not submit a doctored bank statement. I do not think a medical is required for a tourist visa.
Get your itinerary for the visit ready (hotel and flight).
Bank Statement.
Evidence of tax payment.
Letter from employer (if you have one)
Marriage certificate(if applicable), birth certificate
List is endless< just check whichever affects you.

enderwiggins:
Hi i'm new here, I will be applying for a canadian tourist visa this month, and I need to know the neccessary documents needed - someone said that I might be requested to do a medical check up, is this true, also do they truly check the validity of bank statements with the bank?

I will be going to the vsf office in Lekki with N45,000 as requested but I really wanna be prepared before I go there.

P.S I don't have any family or friends there, I'm just going for vacation. I will like to know all the neccesary requirements before applying.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 1:07pm On Mar 22, 2017
In as much as i would like to think it should not affect your chances, you cant be to careful. It kinda looks like someone desperate to enter Canada. Why not give it time before reapplying. Just my two cents tho. Some people may have different opinions on this issue. All the best.

Hi there, it takes a while for the online portal to change. At least mine took over a week before it changed to approved.
When adults pay for biometrics it is stated that it covers transporting your passport to visa office or embassy. Kids don't do biometrics hence the reason to pay extra for their passports.
I hope this answers your question.

halle2:
Hey everyone,
Please any one with similar experience with VFS or knowledge regarding this situation, kindly help on what to do:

I applied for visit visa via the online route for my spouse and kids to visit me in Canada. Their passports were requested for and hubby went to submit them at Lagos VFS. According to him, they separated his passport from the kids'. They said he should take the kids' passport to another section to pay for the fees to transmit them to the embassy, while his own passport was with the initial person that attended to him I.e the person that receives it when you go to VFS. They said he didn't need to pay for his as his biometrics fees already covered that.
The thing is, the kids' visas have been approved and he has been notified to pick up only theirs but his own status on CIC account is still the same (still open and no acknowledgement that his passport has been received)
He has tried calling VFS, no response. He has emailed since two days and is yet to get feedback.
By the way, this is a visa renewal and he did not experience this the first time. I hope his passport is not lost. Please help sad

You already applied. No one knows the chances of getting a visa, just hope for the best.

Please I need your advise. I applied for Canada visa with my husband A family friend invited us. We have both travelled to uk. Usa Dubai southafrica etc. we are presently working. Am a banker while my husband works in an oil servicing firm. We include our bank statements and fixed deposit joint account. Also introduction letters from office. Promotion letter etc. please what our chances of getting a visa. Worried. Lol
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 8:30pm On Jan 28, 2017
I think you need to indicate in your application details about your family. So somehow I guess his status will come up.

Since your husband is a citizen who probably lives here cos he has a good job and can afford to send his family on holiday, I don't think it should be a problem.

Just ensure you have enough funds to support you and your child.

Fill your forms honestly . Read through the thread and see what people use as supporting documents as well . All the best.

AbjMotorPalace:
I'm about applying for the Canadian TRV.

The thing now is my husband is a Canadian citizen but is based in Nigeria.

I don't have a travel history and I want to travel with my son who is 1yr and 3months old.

If I indicate my husband is a Canadian citizen will it reduce my chances of getting a TRV visa?

For those of you who were successfully issued visa, how long did you indicate you will be staying in your application?

Whats the minimum amount I can have in my account for it to be successful?
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 4:34pm On Jan 24, 2017
Congratularions your visa has been approved. It is stated there clearly . Please share documents provided.

TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 9:59pm On Jan 17, 2017
I don't think it should if you provide all the required documents. It's not a one size fit all stuff though. Read through the thread and see do documents that were submitted by different people.

What should be must important to you now In my own opinion is your funds. No thanks to recession, our money isn't all that when converted to foreign currency. All the best.

You can also lost what you want to submit so that other people can help by chipping one or two things.

I believe US passport holders do not need a visa to visit Canada. All the best with your own application.

Hi ALL,

The information provided here is top class.

I applied 6 weeks ago via online application. My application has been updated and I have been requested to come with my passport.

Please how long does it take from the time my passport is dropped off with VFS for it to be returned.

Thanks
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 11:40am On Dec 03, 2016
Congrats Zeus. That's good news. My profile read open and no decision made long after I got my visa approved. I just randomly checked one day and saw that it had changed to application closed.

Just submit on Monday and I'm sure before the end of the week you will get your passport back.

Like Jayfierce said, please let's know the documents you submitted. Congrats once again.

To the best of my knowledge you can only apply from your home country cos of the kind of visa you have.

adaxxy:
Hello house ,
Please I need your advice, can I apply for Canada tourist visa from u.k or U.s,
I'm a Nigerian on tourist visa but I have letter of introduction from my employer and other backing documents ,
Can I apply for tourist visa to Canada from either of the above countries I mentioned but I'm only resident in Nigeria,
Thank you.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 3:03pm On Nov 10, 2016
@passionup11 if you are able to find your trip and back it up with good evidence, I don't see any reason why your wife shouldn't get the visa.

I will advise you get all your documents especially your finance in top shape. She won't be the first unemployed woman to apply and get approved. I know 2. So wish you luck.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 7:58am On Nov 04, 2016
@redreact : so sorry to read this. Do you know the basis for the denial yet?
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 12:07pm On Oct 31, 2016
@mummyf: you husband can write a letter to say he is sponsoring the trip. All he may need aside his bank statement of course will be a copy of his passport data page. He also has to write a consent letter saying he is in support of the kids travelling with you alone. That one isvery important.

You may also include your bank statement just as a prove of your financial stability. Virgin passport or not, if you satisfy all requirement I am sure you guys will get the visas approved.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by shadeebee78: 2:54pm On Oct 28, 2016
Was his passport collected from him? Cos I'm at a loss as to why he was tracking if he was refused.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by shadeebee78: 7:32pm On Oct 27, 2016
@bigfido so sorry, just logged in to read about your refusal. Good thing is you know where the lapses are and ready to refire. That's the spirit, tho it is very painful and frustrating but I know you will get your visa at the second attempt.

To others yet to apply, please package whatever you think is necessary. Waiting for a response from CIC is never funny. God's speed bigfido.

Hi, please read through the posts. There are no hard and fast rules to what documents to provide as circumstances are not usually the same. All the best.

I'm not sure online route is ideal but considering that they are no longer dealing with students visa you may be lucky. You can read through the thread and see the different documents people have used. I don't think there is any hard and fast rule to documents. Different people with different requirements based on your circumstance. Wish you luck.
