Hi Happened to me too but I got a mail from them that explained what happened. Even me, when I saw N199/$, I must confess I had my doubts considering the parallel market was selling for N387.. At the end of the day, Banks are not Tech companies, they rely on other companies to provide technical support and as bad as we hate to admit it, systems fail once in a while. Due to a system error, they sold dollars at N199, and if it were your own business, wont you recoup the loss. We complain about Buhari badmouthing Nigeria abroad while where we also are doing the same thing by dragging the bank to twitter or facebook. Such actions will only shortsell our institutions to the rest of the world and convince them that we do not have a banking industry that is strong. if we do this, how will we attract the foreign investment to grow the Naira. MTN, GLO, Airtel have all had several system failures and debited credit from our phones... My DSTV (PREMIUM) expired and I wasn't disconnected, the next time I paid, they instantly debited me and I understood. didn't go around creating a fuss over it. These things happen but doesn't give us the right to destroy our own... just my thoughts sha!!! lets build the economy and grow the Naira (we need these companies to achieve that) Think about, the N299 rate that was eventually charged by the bank is well within the range charged by other banks. Don't wanna mention names but I did a transaction with another bank that day and they charged me N302 GTB you guys ought to be a lot more careful by the way |
To what end... I stand by my earlier adumbration.....don't destroy what our own... all this mess today is simply because we lost our oil money and failed to diversify our economy. Let's drag the institutions through mud and destroy them as well and what next...... I might be GTB today, but nothing stops it from happening to you tomorrow. Banks rely on other companies for Tech support, it is totally out of the control, you can do all you humanly can but some times sytems just fail and there is nothing you can do about it #SupporttheNairatoGrowtheEconomy Today is no banking day!!!!! Yippee!!!! |
Hi Guys, please let's stop all this. Really, can we get real for a moment!!! We can not all gang up and destroy our own indigenous companies under the guise of error in exchange rate. things are tough all over the world right now. companies are laying off to stay afloat and the few ones we have, we want to sue them to court and let me guess...... HUGE SUMS OF MANEY ABI? Banks are not Tech companies, they really on other companies to provide technical support and as bad as we hate to admit it, systems fail once in a while. Due to a system error, they sold dollars at N199, if it were your own business, wont you recoup the loss. We all cant complain about Buhari badmouthing Nigeria where we also are doing the same thing. dragging the bank to twitter or facebook will only shortsell ourselves to the rest of the proud and convince them that we do not have a banking industry that is strong. if we do this, how will we now attract the foreign investment to grow the Naira. Hi, call their GTConnect Line (014480000) and let them know. 2. You can also visit any GTBank branch and discuss with customer care or the BM to provide you with the details of your banking transaction. 3. Remove your account number from this post as you just succeeded in exposing yourself more to fraud |
Hi Guys, it is really sad how we go about disparaging the names of the few good brands we have in Nigeria. I was shocked and embarrassed to learn that after all our abuse on GTB, the sealed building is not even their branch. Thank God the Bank is not taking legal action....These days, people now use their traditional orange and grey to design their own buildings. Once again, the naivety of our Media has revealed itself once more, our bloggers never take time to authenticate their stories before publishing them. If they did, they would have noticed the purported building is not even a GTBank branch. Some wise bloggers have begun publishing retractions. see below.... http://www.mikeangelonews.com/the-vault/gtbank-does-not-even-have-a-branch-at-the-efcc-sealed-complex/ |
Hi Green, mennn I feel your pain and I once had similar experience though with another bank. In my case, I decided to go to CAC to enquire what was delaying my documents as claimed by the Bank. What I encountered at CAC made me realize that most of the blames we heap on Banks are often not fair. Early this year, CAC had a fire incident that damaged a lot of their Data and ever since, verifying the documents sent in by Banks on their Database has been very difficult, so Banks are often handicapped. In the event they release your cheque book without receiving verification from CAC that the documents you presented are confirmed, they will be sanctioned. I am not defending them, hell they have their own issues but sometimes, the picture gets clearer when you see both sides. |
