Janosky: Nah your English translators write "am" put inside Exodus 3:6, whereas the Hebrew Exodus 3:6 says " I the God of Abraham....." Oga,go & CHANGE the Exodus 3:6 Hebrew lexicon in your Bible.
Matter closed. You've chosen what to believe. Farewell. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Christ Is God by sharpgospel: 10:01am On Mar 05, 2023 |
Janosky: Sorry to burst your bubble. Matthew 22:32 was copied from Exodus 3:6. Did you see "Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh" at Exodus 3:6 screenshot? No ! E no dey Exodus 3:6, e no go dey Matthew 22:32.
Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh for Christendom: 'I am what I am'.
Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh for Jews: 'I will be what I will be.' Nah the Jews dey correct. Nah Jewish language.
The usage in that context connotes it is present in tense. If it is copied, it means that this is the correct phrase. Therefore it supplies that Exodus 3:6 is 'I Am' not 'I Will Be'. From Mathew 22:32 Is He the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or will He become at a later date? As for the Jews, they are wrong about many things. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Jesus Christ Is God by sharpgospel: 11:11pm On Mar 04, 2023 |
Not interested in arguing but for whatever it's worth let's have this Scripture here for whether Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh is for present 'I am what I am' or for 'I will be what I will be.'
Here:
‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” Matthew 22:32 NKJV
Mathew here interprets 'I Am' to be present in usage not futuristic.
He is not the God of the past(dead) nor of the future, but God now and always. |

Lostchild: If you want I can email to you the write up Post here so it can bless others. The CHILD OF GOD cannot be possessed by devils though he can be influenced externally. Note that as long as the presence of God was still in Eve, all that the Serpent could do was to externally commune with her as a way of influencing her. James said the believer should resist the devil and he shall flee 'FROM' him. This tells us that the devil is not 'IN' the believer but 'WITH' him(around him) in the world. (James 4:7) Also consider these points: 1. The believer is God's eternal temple(2Corinthians 6:16) 2. Jesus said that who he gives eternal life(Holy Spirit) cannot be snatched from Him because God is greater than the devil.(John 10:28-29, 1John 4:4) 3. Bear in mind that no one is a Christian without being indwelt by the Spirit(Romans 8:9) 4. You can't steal the home of a strong man except you are strong enough to bind him first(Matthew 12:29). The devil can't because God is stronger than all.(John 10:28-29) 5. Possession is possible only if one gets exorcised of demons but left empty without getting filled with God.(Matthew 12:43-45). Emphasis is on 'empty' here. A CHRISTIAN CANNOT BE POSSESSED BY DEVILS BECAUSE HE IS ALREADY POSSESSED OF GOD WHO IS STRONGER THAN THE DEVIL |

You will understand this more if you have the knowledge about the 7 Spiritual levels of the Christian life. Please explain these 7 spiritual levels and how they relate to devils living in a believer indwelt by the Spirit of God. And please explain from Bible and not from opinion or assumptions. Thank you. |

You mean that believers are(can be) possessed of devils?

MaxInDHouse: That thief has had a lot about Jesus when he's walking up and down freely that's why himself and his cohort confirmed that Jesus is a miracle worker. Moreover the thief was a Jew and according to what their scriptures foretold about the Christ he realized that since Jesus was a prophet and blameless his execution is sure confirmation that he is standing beside the Christ who all ancient faithful Israelites has been expecting.
That's why he quickly acknowledged Jesus as King and beg him to remember him when he gets to his kingdom.
So unlike your hopeless criminal who knew practically nothing about God's word that thief knew a lot as in enough to save his soul all he needed is just to acknowledge Jesus as King.
For instance, Mr Peter Obi is becoming the talk everywhere now and gaining support here and there, politicians joining his group aren't doing so because they love goodness but securing a place when Obi finally becomes the next Mr P.
That's exactly what the thief did while his friend was thinking of been released instantly in order to return to his business. Nice perspective. Thing is, though, that thief never lived out his salvation to qualify for paradise. All he did was believe and confess. That same day, he was in paradise. |

He only has to believe in Allah as his only Lord and that Muhammad salallahu alayhi wasalam is Allah's messenger sent to the word after Jesus! Allah has neither son nor partners to help him. He is the creator, cherisher and sustainer of all that exists!
I will then encourage him to keep saying the Kalimah till death! Okay |

Kobojunkie: To become born-again is to enter into the Kingdom of God, and as Jesus Christ explained in John 3 vs 1 - 21, the base requirement is to believe in Jesus Christ, be born-again — born of water and born of Spirit. With just that base, one can gain access through the Broad Gate which leads to destruction(Hellfire) at the end. To enter in through the Narrow gate which leads to True Life, however, one has to make oneself worthy of Jesus Christ and this requires continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ to achieve this. Kelechukwu clap for yourself...well done. 1. What does being 'born-again' mean, really? 2. If lifestyle can save, then why did Jesus come? You do believe He came? You just read Broad Gate and Narrow Gate and concluded that there is one gate that is broad and another that is narrow. Hehe. |

Relate to the person as a human being. Some unapologetic people would choose to stay alone. Don’t bother to save the individual; prisons make provision for last rites depending on the inmate’s creed. If he/she doesn’t identify with one, whoever is on hand will perform the rite anyway. Let the soul make do with whatever comes along with the afterlife. That afterlife is an eternity |

It's easy to start debating about high-sounding concepts that you neither understand nor can understand. Dead men don't perceive the things of life.
The right question should rather be:
WHEN IS A MAN BORN AGAIN? |

Kobojunkie: 1. From this, I take it that your conclusion then is that Jesus Christ lied to the man on the cross. Am I right?.
2. According to Jesus Christ, no man will ever enter into Heaven, or into Hellfire, until after He has returned and judged the sheep and the goats in the Kingdom of God - Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46 & John 5 vs 19 - 29. But if your assumption, from reading that verse, is that Paul spoke of one going into Heaven, then what you are saying is Paul accused Jesus Christ of lying. Is that the case? You know that Jesus also spoke about sheeps and goats in that text(Matthew25:31-46), I know he literally means the sheeps and goats, abi?. Also, he spoke about all manner of things that weren't done to him, I know he also meant literally. Likewise, he spoke about the 'dead'(John5:19-29)...This has a different meaning from what you're thinking. God told Adam and Eve they'd die if they ate of the tree he asked them not to eat of. They did eat it and did not 'die'. So... Did God lie? Let's try to read with understanding. Understanding will be impossible without being born again. So it's futile going this route. |

@kobojunkie Your write up is too long so can't quote directly 1. Paradise is heaven. Paul spoke about it alternating the words. It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth how that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 2 Corinthians 12:1-4 KJV Isaiah spoke about heaven as being higher than the earth For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 KJV Therefore paradise is same as heaven 2. The thief on the cross had not the luxury of time to start living right inorder to earn his salvation, it was simply imputed to him by faith. 3. We'll look at the bit about Jesus being in the grave the whole three days in a bit. |
Christianity Etc › Re: What Would You Say To A Prisoner On Death-row 5 Minutes Before Execution? by sharpgospel(op): 1:54am On Jan 24, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: 1. Given that this so-called doctrine aligns with that written in scripture itself, as opposed to all others which teach you others, I suggest you not venture into that which you don't truly have an understanding of. Jesus Christ spoke a parable regarding how long it would take His followers to begin bearing fruit aka become sons of God to you — the parable of the fig tree - Luke 13 vs 6 - 9.
2. You don't know much about Him, do you?
What Jesus Christ told the thief on the cross was that he, the thief, would be with Him, Jesus Christ, that very same day. Jesus Christ was in the grave that same day, and the next couple of days after that — nowhere near Heaven— paradise in the grave. 1. Isn't the word 'paradise' different from 'sheol'(the grave)? So your paradise is in the grave, chief? 2. Study other Scriptures and see that what it took to be saved was the Gospel. And it was Immediately there was persuasion in the hearer(s). In Acts 2. Peter preached and 3000 were saved the same day.(Acts 2:41). Acts 4. Again, Peter preached and 5000 were saved...the same day. (Acts 4:4). The question should rather be, 'What did Peter tell them, and can I tell it this prisoner in 5 minutes? |
Christianity Etc › Re: What Would You Say To A Prisoner On Death-row 5 Minutes Before Execution? by sharpgospel(op): 1:04am On Jan 24, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: Nothing! You are meant to say absolutely nothing to that person regarding such things.
It took the disciples of Jesus Christ approximately 4 years to become saved - have the Holy spirit come in to seal them in order that they may remain faithful until the end and be saved, and they had Jesus Christ walking along with them. So what makes you think you can, in Jesus Christ, cause a man to be saved in 5 minutes? . So it takes that long in your doctrine to get saved? This is not the doctrine of Christ. He said to the thief on the cross, ' Today you shall be with me in paradise'. |
