If the president has no guts, let him step down. The crisis is getting worse. Families are crying for the loss of their loved ones who pass because of one religious or tribal incident or the order. How can Police officers be killed on duty and nothing is done about it. How can Women, Children and Men be slaughtered while serving their God and nothing is done about it. It is all stories and slandering of General Buhari's name.

Please I am from the South South but I know when I see an upright man. What the Presidency did with this press release is very bad. I don't think any resonable democratic government will make such careless remarks.

This is why non-Nigerian observers are departing from established diplomacy to be be coming out in strong condemnation of the actions of GEJ. Wake up and smell the Coffee bruv. There is no excuse for a President to lamely announce knowing a "major sponsor" of the terror threatening to sink Nigeria while the world sees no appropriate action to bring this sponsor to book. Better to say nothing at all than embarrass Nigeria via showing it is close to Somalia and other failed State where constituted authority is totally neutered, impotent and not in charge.

You know Talk is cheap, we can all sit out as spectators and play the game better than those on the field. The issue at hand is far more intricate than the way you want it handled. As a leader when taking decisions, everybody (bad or good) must be put into consideration. I know if we continue with this issue we could drag it for so long without coming to a compromise. Still am not saying you are wrong o. I believe all the aim for everything we've been typing out here is for the good of all. Just for the record am not for or an anti-Jonathan, but all i want to see is for the right thing to be done.

nokingasgod: No Sir, beg to disagree. THis government is the most clueless of all Nigerian governments we have had since independence. For a government to think the heaven will fall because of an individual is not only totally wrong and very laughable but also very insulting to the collective psyche of the people called Nigerians in the 21 century.

Now, all the sectional, regional and national leaders we have today, their popularity, followership and die-hard worshippers etc, all combined is insignificant compared to that of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the first republic yet, Chief Obafemi Awolowo was jailed in trumped up charges. Yes, there were pockets of unrests in the south west which were promptly contained, heaven did not fall and he was there for years before he was freed by the military.

So, to say because of some perceived popularity, a criminal should be condoned and untouched is in itself a criminal act.

I hope am not been misconstrued here. Am not saying it is wrong to arrest anybody involved in this issue at hand, but sometimes before taking action you will have have to weigh the odds too. Arresting Buhari will definetely do more harm than good, a critical look at this issue then you will notice that he Buhari as in so many ways tried pushing Jonathan to the wall so that he reacts, there is a statement of Buhari in which he said to jonathan "arrest me if u can" what do u deduce from this statement, this guys simply want war! If an arrest is made on this guy, u will then see what the north will come up with. Guys so many undertones to this issue on ground, the aim of this people is just to distabilize and fustrate this government. Sometimes i fill sad that we all just throw stone at jonathan making it more difficult for the dude. (Am not saying everything Jonathan is doing or have done is right o)

The president is just been considerate. From your write up it simply shows you are staying in the south and you've not seen the kind of hell the "strangers" pass through, if Jonathan decides to arrest Buhari now Jonathan has nothing to loose and infact he'll probably be applauded, again where Jonathan is he can't be touched (security wise) so he has no fear of arresting Buhari, but the "strangers" staying in the north will feel the heat. So you as a president will rather take accolades than having your entire citizens safety at heart (bro expand your horizon of thinking pls and think like a leader)

Some times we get this issue wrong and we just believe this government is clueless. This is the aim of this northerners to distabilize this government, have you guys have an afterthought of what is going to happen if Buhari is arrested? The North will simply go into their normal rioting with the claim that they have been cheated again, now what will be the fate of your brothers and sisters staying in the north? simply put many lives will be lost again... So u see why buhari is still walking the street a free man
