.You can't go nowhere except with the permission of the chief of Army staff through the intelligence. If your interest is to travel,then you might have issues especially as a Subaltern.

Young man, deserting from service can happen to anybody irrespective of Corp. The way you mention SSC Everytime will make prospective candidate's to loose hope or think they are signing up to die which is not true. People dessert the service for different reasons. If you are interested in joining the army , apply with an open mind and PRAY about it,if it's in your destiny to be, you will definitely be. Some have been to war areas and spent years without firing a shot. Some Officer's have died in Abuja, Lagos etc due to accident or any other cause. Finally, bullet doesn't discriminate when it comes,it can hit anyone irrespective of commission and Corp.

You will be paid stipends that can be able to purchase soft drinks and uniforms. Feeding is very good especially at NDA but you will eat goat meat and vomit chicken. Its not about food, whatever you eat under tension will not be digested well.

Didn't the army offer some DSSC candidates based on their performance and age SSC enlistment?

Having served the Nigerian Army and having undergone the surgery while in active service and having aquired the prerequisites qualification to be commissioned as SSC which shows age is surely on his side why then not compensate him with DSSC?

What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

They don't want to enlist him, I understand what you are saying,they should havegiven him lesser combat role slot based on his year's of service and patriotism

Yes oo. Oga ugo4u, I was evicted on medical grounds, due to inguinal hernia surgery of 7 months, which is still healed to their standard, they said if its DSSC they could have managed me,cos their Training is lighter than That of SSC.
So they advised me to stand down and be well for my safety.
So I accept it with Gud faith.
Is better to be alive and see d next generation than others to see it without u.

Gentlemen prospective cadet's,as you await final list please appraise your self and get ready psychological,there is no difference in role between SSC and DSSC,especially specialist corps like medical, you will be deployed to troubled areas because that's where your immediate assistance is greatly needed,some people are are already running away from the war zones because they think DSSC is for office work only,my dear there's nothing like that,army is army , please if you are not ready don't block other people chances if you are called.

Yes,we were three from same LGA while some didn't even get,its a state competition not LGA, the competition will start when you are already in the system and at certain stage of your career

There is already a female battalion and Corp but it's not for war,most of them are for special escorts

I follow Nigerian Army stories a lot. I must tell you, I have never ever seen a female soldier in active duty in the North East. Your sister should not worry.

Females are not posted to North East,it started with this administration,even female recruits are not posted to war front.Infact any female that makes it finally will enjoy the job very well,most of them are posted to non combat arms like Ordnance,ST,finance,MP,intelligence etc and are mostly deployed to the west,south east and FCT.They are just lucky now except if the policy changes

Yea, but not all the candidates called for screening will eventually make it, maximum 9 per state(might change though) so bad as e bad slots must be filled highest they do patch, patch from neighbouring states(Zoning). Infact it is an advantage to people that showed up because there will be lesser competition for available slot. I know Anambra and Abia will have the least number of candidates in the SE especially Anambra people while Ebonyi will have the highest.

The Army doesn't recruit that way,that few people reported does not guarantee automatic enlistment, the normal procedure must be followed,if they don't fulfill it then another set is called,let me advice all of you, the country is facing alot of challenges even civilians that you protect sometimes turn against you,therefore you must be prepared to face challenges,the military job is very demanding now,despite your commission you will face the job.Finally based on your last comment i think it's Enugu , Anambra and IMO that were many during my time,infact Ebonyi state had only two out of 7 that reported and we have lost one of them . I still believe there are brave Nigerians who will take this job and make it in life.Goodluck in your endeavors

But my brother hasn't signed anything.
I believe he should get two armed officers to sign all the four forms required.

My question now is will it be acceptable, if all the four forms are signed by just two officers? Without taking any to the local government.

The military(Army) is facing alot of challenges at the moment,this is also the time to see brave and courageous gentle man who are willing to defend their country,all countries that fought or are fighting insurgency has recorded great human loss,be that as it may if you make the final list,thank God if not continue your civil life, you can make it outside uniform jobs,i wish all the candidates well in your interview

Its funny how some things happen. When my phone data wiped with my photo card in it, I lost hope... I didnt train, I didn't jog or run, I haven't been doing g sit-ups neither have I been doing pushups.. Infact i didnt even sign the remaining documents but that one na small thing and will be done tomorrow. I was shocked to see my name.... Photo card or not I will represent my state there..

If you are from Bayelsa or Borno,you have to be extra careful during screening,for Bayelsa they screen you with the mindset that you are a drug addict don't know why but it evicted many during my time,if you are from Borno you will face alot of questions at every point in the exercise............. Good luck

Same with me during my time,infact during selection board I never took anything too serious and was always waiting to be sent home only to see myself making the first cage and facing selection board chairman and finally shortlisted.I see you passing out as a gentle man officer

None of the females on that SSC list will make the final. Army stoped enlisting female officers into their combatant Regular Course d years ago. And none in the SSC.
Check requiremnt for NDA RC addmission u will is it's clearly stated that female candidates should not select Army as their chioce of service.

Big congrats to those that made it and a bigger congrats to those that didn't make it. You might be sad but thank God. It's God's plan.

Maybe they decided to give females chance,though there was no female during my time.Their presence will soften ground for the final successful ones,besides they will not suffer much,there is a ban on some things now,so it's going to be enjoyable for them and all the instructors that handled us has been posted out.Congratulations to those that made the first cut

Oboy,luck is important in the Job,some people are based overseas,and it's same army earning very Well,some from overseas course will become defense attaché,you get to see them during promotion exercise etc,so keep your spirits high

How many years would one spend as SSC officer?

And after that years of service, am they gonna be retired compulsorily if conversion to Regular ain't possible?

Retirement after just 15years? Am confused.

For SSC, the commission is granted for 15 Years,ten years on active service then retirement after 15 Years of service without conversion to regular Combatant

2: Is there break during training like holidays to visit family and love ones?
3: what is the maximum years to serve as dssc officer because some said 15 while some said 10 years?
4: Is it possible for an officer to influence his/her posting to his desired place?
5: Is it possible for dssc officer to combine his/her military service to his private business?
