mrvitalis:

Government run on tax... That's how it's done

You pay tax and government provide value for your tax because it's cheaper paying Tax than providing it yourself

If you don't get value for tax u vote them out

But here they get little change from oil n don't tax people

Do you know there are countries around the globe that do not tax their citizens?

mrvitalis:

How much petrol would they use in day?
I guess u are the type that would want it free then cry it's not well maintained

The idea of Africans is weird theh believe government should get money from anywheee and make their life better instead of contributing money to government as tax to make their life better

Ogun have a population of 7 million, Nigerian GDP per capita is 1.6 million yearly

200k tax on average individuals per year
Gives you 1.4 trillion that's the minimum amount Ogun us supposed to get from tax

There is no how u pay that money n elect idiots
There is no how a good person ruled for 8 years with that money that u won't get great value for your money

You don’t tax the entire population, you tax the working population. Now use the working population to recalculate what you put up there.

To even think that two Policemen were there watching the drama queen dsiplay her madness and destroy the company's valuables speaks volume.

That’s one of the terms binding installments. Should you default, the company has the right to retrieve the item or vehicle from you even if it remains just 1 cent to complete it. This must have been written in the agreement she signed.

The same woman castigating Naira Marley and Sam Larry for bullying Mohbad is the same person trying to oppress another person because she feels she is connected.

We can see the kinds of hypocrites littering the country.

Laughable! Olofin Ogunfunminire is the progenitor of Awori people. He was a renowned Prince from Ile Ife. The Olofin in his name is actually his great grandfather's name. And guess who is Olofin ? Oduduwa - Olofin Adimula of Ife!

As for the Egun people,if they now address themselves or see themselves as part of Yoruba people now,who are you,Chukwudi, to say otherwise? You these people from the land of primitive forest-dwelling ancestors who stop amusing us,walahi!

Ife and Oyo are the same?
Show me where in myth, legends or history where Oduduwa was referred to as “Yoruba”.

Salewa97:
Nigerian youths need to understand that progress takes time. Tinubu is focused on long-term solutions, not just immediate fixes. They should engage in dialogue rather than protests. After all, we all want a better Nigeria, so let’s support Jagaban in his vision for our future!

Most if not all of his so called economic policies will be reversed by his successor. His vision and legacy will be killed completely once he lives that office.
People that had better economic policies than him had many of their policies and visions reversed or killed.

It’s quite amusing how some people think protesting will magically solve their problems. Obaseki should focus on governance instead of pointing fingers. These street worshippers need to wake up and realize that no amount of chanting will bring food to their tables.

Is what he said a lie?

Who is responsible for the economic hardship and hyperinflation in the country?

The federal government or state governments?

The funny thing is once this man leaves office it is almost certain that the next president may reverse all these policies and reforms he’s chanting.

He cannot do anything to push this country forward. Obasanjo that had the best economic team and plans for a better Nigeria has his some of his policies reversed by Yaradua.

All these planning for the future na wishful thinking. Most of these policies will be canceled or reversed by the next administration.

Bayo Onanuga is just speaking the truth, and that's what APC needs right now.

If the media is angry, it shows he's hitting the right spots. We need more voices like his that won't shy away from calling out the nonsense.

APC should stand firm and support him, because at the end of the day, it's about the party's progress and not just keeping everyone happy. Let the naysayers keep shouting; we know where we're headed!

Politics / Re: Igbo Group Tasks Lagos State Government On Quelling The Disunity Fueled By Indig by Sheuns(m): 5:09pm On Aug 02
Point of correction, those that are fueling hate against igbos are not indigenes of Lagos state. They’re from far away Osun, Oyo etc. Aworis and Eguns do not have any problems with igbos or other tribes. After allowing these Yorubas from Oyo et al into Lagos state, they turned around to hijack most of the state and power from them and pushed them to the corner. The reason being that most of them were not educated back then.

Politics / Re: VeryDarkMan Asks Tinubu To Declare A Curfew Because Of Potential Violence by Sheuns(m): 6:21am On Aug 02
The president and his advisers had days of warning that a protest was coming, what did he do?
He sat in his office and invited traditional rulers and some clerics asking them to go talk to their subjects not to protest.
His daughter said we should give him 3 years before complaining.
His ministers and advisers threatened anyone that protests.

Remember the president also said some months ago that if we like we protest tire, he won’t revert fuel subsidy.

The president is responsible for any violence that comes with these protests because he already said he will do nothing even if the people protested.

The August 1 date was picked and circulated by some northern groups. Why do you want to pin the protest on some other people?

Not a false alarm.....but rather than posting rubbish, better call your people up north to return home or be very careful.

Abokis no dey reason like me and you, if care is not taken......hmm

As for them touching any Igbo, a mad group that will match thier craziness is patiently waiting in the east already

Bro. The way some Yoruba named guys are celebrating destruction in the north can lead to a reprisal attack on yorubas living in the north.

Abokis go for the kill straight up. I hope these guys won’t put their family members in the north in jeopardy.

sIfioksq:
Every great leader faces challenges, and it's in those moments we see their true character. Tinubu is navigating a complex landscape; let's give him the chance to steer us towards progress. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will our nation be fixed overnight. Patience is key, and constructive criticism can lead to better solutions.

He didn’t give Jonathan time before he carried placards and was screaming subsidy must be reinstated in January 2012.

He’s getting a taste of his own medicine. This is what happens to someone that believes he knows best and can solve all Nigeria’s problems better than anyone else.
Politics / Re: Why Can't Tinubu Just Reverse His Disastrous Policies? by Sheuns(m): 2:58pm On Aug 01
The man and his appointees have reached a dead end.

First he removed subsidy by making an unguarded announcement, a week later he floated the Naira. He did these without thinking of how the policies will affect the people.

Bringing subsidy back now will be too expensive as it will be very difficult to bring the Naira back to below 800 naira that he met it. It will cost a lot doing those.

The man isn’t visionary as he was claimed to be.

The silly advisers, governors and ministers are the ones that actually fueled the need for more people to come out to protest.

How do you go about threatening people not to protest. You should plead with them and speak with subtle tones and not commanding them thinking it will make them cower in fear.

In this life, wisdom is not something everyone has.

This should be a wake up call to the president that inviting a few clerics and some traditional rulers have no impact in addressing the people.
Talk to them directly.

Atiku is just throwing words in the air as usual. Palliatives are just a band-aid on a gaping wound. If he really cared, he'd have better solutions instead of just talking. Typical of a politician who loves to play the blame game.

Atiku already gave your party and master strategist ways to handle the economy, but as usual you lots said why did he not do them when he was vice president.

You forget that Nigeria had the best economic team when Atiku was vice president and our economy was very much stable even when oil prices were not as high as we have now.

Lol. Protest day again?

I hope those who think shouting on the streets will change anything have their heads checked.

This is just another day for the noise makers and the hungry crowd looking for a free meal. It’s like they don’t learn from history.

Last time, what did they achieve? Nothing but a few broken bottles and some government officials laughing behind closed doors.

The same politicians they want to challenge are probably laughing at them right now, planning their next moves while these protesters think they’re making a difference.

Just another display of futility, really. If you ask me, they should save their energy for real change instead of parading on the streets like lost sheep.

The ENSARS protest achieved it aim, SARS was disbanded.

You sit wherever you are and call people hungry?

I just hope your family members including yourself are raking in millions.
