Asisat needs to be cautious how she uses her social media handles. She is a top footballer and for that she needs to learn when and how to speak. She should take cues from Ronaldo, Messi and the likes.

Politics / Re: As A President, How Would You Have Handled The Current Economy Crisis? by Sheuns(m): 12:27am On Feb 14
Cut down Executive, legislative costs by 95%. The legislature will scream as hell but I’ll make Nigerians see the amount of money these guys take monthly and how it can be used to better fund the economy for majority of Nigerians.

I will appoint just 20 ministers and they’ll be placed on Federal civil servant level 17 salaries(same as teachers) no additional allowances or incentives. I as the president will also be on level 15 or 14 civil servant salary with no allowance or incentives either. Feeding of myself and my family and whatever guests I receive at the villa will be my responsibility. I only get to live rent free in the villa.

In other to support local vehicle manufacturers, I will call Innoson, Nord and other manufacturers in Nigeria, give them specific details of the type of car needed for a president and that’ll be my official vehicle. All foreign vehicles in my motorcade will be auctioned off. I will only ride in Nigerian made cars.

By doing these few things alone, billions of naira will be freed up and can be channeled into the betterment of the nation.

Empower the military and go all out against criminals, bandits, kidnappers, terrorists. There will be no rest for them. Ariel bombardments everyday. Order is kill all terrorists on sight. If they surrender kill them still after extracting information from them.

Publicly mention the names and financiers of terrorists and armed bandits. I am the president, I should not be afraid to deal with whosoever is found wanting no matter who you are. Have them tried and executed in the shortest time possible.

All these may appear ambitious, but trust me with dedication and commitment these can be achieved.

Not a single even half-economically literate answer in the whole bunch, just lots of wishful thinking masquerading as wisdom. With whose money are you subsidy-reversers planning to operate? Are any of you even aware that more than 80% of FG revenues are already commiitted to servicing the interest on loans, and the severe consequences defaulting would instigate? And anyone thinking a CBN governor can work miracles in 48 hours might as well wish for unicorns jumping over rainbows with pots of gold at their ends, that's how ridiculously fantastical such thinking is.

It's useless answers like these that make it impossible to take most criticism of Tinubu on here seriously. 99% of you moaning and groaning don't have the first clue about what Nigeria's problems really are, not to speak of any meaningful ideas about how to tackle them.

You rubbished all others contributions without you proffering one “economic” solution.

How will you address the situation if you were president?

ElSudani:
No matter how much you cry or shrieking your cries become. It will not change the fact that Tinubu was left with a mess and he is doing his best to clear them up.
Nobody is saying things are rosy but to heap all the blame on someone who came to power just 8 months ago is a bit of a stretch.
We won't fall for it. So, keep on crying.

The blames heaped on him are the ones he deserves. He floated the Naira and hastily removed subsidy. Those are the things the OP laid emphasis on.

Who’s to blame for the hasty removal of petrol subsidy and floating of Naira that has led to this economic crisis we are in now?

Enefiele devalued the Naira and also abruptly removed petrol subsidy because Niger, Cameroon were getting “cheap” fuel.

These guys must find a way to defend their failure. PDP is far better than APC. The worst years of PDP is way ahead of the best years of APC in governance.

During PDP one could eat with N100 naira. Indomie was 35 naira egg was 30 naira. Buy 2 indomie and 1 egg that’s 100 naira total. This was 2012-2014 there about. An egg sells for 150 naira now. 150 naira for just one piece of egg. How the hell is the poor supposed to feed?

Politics / Re: Whats The Real Thing Tinubu Did In Lagos by Sheuns(m): 10:21pm On Feb 13
If we are to give anyone the credit of building Lagos it should and would always go to Lateef Jakande. Until any governor surpasses what that man did in 4 years when he was governor I won’t ever rate anyone above him in Lagos.

That man showed that good governance can be delivered with available resources if managed well. If not for Buhari that overthrew the democratic government in 1983 and canceled the Lagos metro lines, the railways these ones are celebrating after taking over 10 years to build would have been completed in the 80s.

Which of your country is going down?

When previous government were printing and borrowing money to pay salary and support subsidy while some of us were shouting, no be politics you guys dey use am play.

When one clueless president take money go pay debt, we dey cry say a country without visible infrastructure dey use her scarce resources pay debt instead of building infrastructure to support economic growth and create prosperity for the country.

Now subsidy on oil is gone and gone forever, subsidy for people of dollars is also gone forever, monetary and fiscal reform is going forward and never gone be in reverse.

Really happy we have stubborn reformer, continue the protest instead of going to farm to cultivate cassava and earn foreign currency from cassava starch, cassava flour, garri, sorbitol and more.

Read about the sacrifice China, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Ireland and others go through to reform for prosperity, you will know what's up.

Every nation go through the sacrifice. Instead of putting on our thinking cap, we blame and come to social media as emergence economist.

We die here together for better nation.

Thanks Jagaban, we all suffer this together and reap the benefit together.

If Jagaban truly follows the sacrifices the likes of China and the rest made, do you think he will approve 500 million naira to a committee to sit for a wage review? They keep selling these narratives of sacrifices to only the populace while they make zero sacrifices.

This is just the honest truth. Whatever we are facing now isn't Tinubu's fault, he met a disaster on ground, it has been an accumulated problem and there's no one that would have done an overnight miracle but we need him to do better because Nigerians are starving, we want result. Please put the country in your daily prayers, it's not as easy as you all are thinking.

The same way ya'll said Buhari met a mess when he became president.

The insults aren’t needed. Though it’s mostly twitter people that do such. When I saw the team playing too defensively from the start of the match I sensed a recipe for disaster. The Ivorians outplayed us from 1 till 90 minutes. It’s a final, come out and play then you can start playing defensively if you’re in the lead and in the dying moments of the game. I wasn’t expecting too much though, I would have been happy had we won, but I’m not sad either that we lost. We can try again in the next tournament. The players gave their best.

Politics / Re: What Is The Point Removing Subsidies If You Are Going To Pay Higher Wages??? by Sheuns(m): 8:06am On Feb 10
Praxis758:
Removal of the fuel subsidy means more money will be accrued to the federal government because the funds being paid to the oil importers (called subsidy) has stopped.

The money being saved from the subsidy stoppage therefore flowed to the state governments on the name of federal allowances (FAAC).

Our state governors are in money now, but won’t talk to avoid being questioned about the hefty money in their treasuries. That’s wickedness on the path of the governors not justify the hefty sum available to them.

What’s the value of the money saved from subsidy removal?

100,000 Naira February last year isn’t of same value of 100,000 Naira February this year. It’s not about how much the money is, it’s about what value it holds.
