Northerners have inertia for everything.

I see how "educated" southerners who believe Nigeria can work sweating inside AC. They are trying to convince a people with glaucoma to see a big picture.

The earlier the southern regions breakaway from these parasites and snails the better for them.

cheesy

Hehehehe.

The same south that some people believe others are dot in a circle?

The last thing anyone should be preaching now is Southern unity. It’ll be very hard to achieve. The two major tribes down south that ought to work together are always at each other’s throats.

Maybe not them but their political supporters

Better say South West and some South South states. There is no unity in the South.

U think they don't understand the legal implications of sharing false information once it's been established by court?

Many of u are just social media activist I doubt if u have ever been to a court of law or attend any court sitting before

Until the court establishes that the information contained in the book is false, Amazon will not take it down. The matter is still in court and status quo will be maintained until a judgement is passed.

You just love talking anyhow. Just two days ago, Sanwo Olu commissioned a road in another part of Lagos. He's touching every part of lagos

Guy, I live in Lagos and I move around most parts of Lagos well. Born and brought up here. I have seen better works done by governors such as Fashola and Ambode. They didn’t even have to commission roads or sing songs. People acknowledged their works.
Politics / Re: Afe Babalola Obtains Court Order To Block Sale Of Farotimi’s Book On Amazon by Sheuns(m): 7:21am
How will the court do that?

Would they go to Amazon fulfillment centers worldwide to enforce this order?

How do they want to seize all the copies?

He hasn’t done anything beyond expectations. Ambode did 10X better than this guy in only 4 years. Fashola is still the best governor in Lagos since 1999. This guy and Tinubu are dragging for worst.

And how do you get the resources and revenue? TAXES.

30 trillion naira, largely from oil is not enough for a nation our size.

TAXES.

Taxes that end up servicing the political class and a few of their cronies?

The taxation system in Nigeria is a means to fund the luxury lifestyle of our politicians and not to benefit the people. All the taxes that we’ve been paying all these years what have they done with the little as you call it?
Politics / Re: Top 10 Exported & Imported Products In 9 Months, 2024 (Jan - Sept) by Sheuns(m): 7:55am On Dec 10
Put the figures in dollars.

I’ve always said that we make more forex in export than we use in import. This clearly shows it. Our politicians loot all the forex dry causing the value of the Naira to plummet.

We were able to have lower Naira rates during PDP years because they were lesser thieves when compared to APC.

nairalanda1:
The reason why we borrow and have been borrowing
1. Government revenue from taxation is not sufficient for a nation our size. Most people do not pay tax because the economy is largely informal

2. Revenue from oil is also not sufficient for a nation our size and has been over the last 40 years at least 80% of government revenues

3. A lack of commitment to fighting corruption by most governments.

Taxes don’t grow countries. Proper management of resources and revenue do. There are countries that collect zero tax and they’re doing fine.

Nigerian politicians tax everyone and everything directly and indirectly and loot all the proceeds.

This same man was a minister in Buhari’s cabinet. The same reforms Buhari did for 8 years because past administrations destroyed Nigeria is what Tinubu is doing again.

You carry you family land and property sell to highest bidders. They buy from you, you still ask them to pay owo omo onile, oba, etc, they do.

When they start lording over you in your so called land you start getting angry forgetting that you sold those properties to them willingly out of greed and lack of foresight to make good use of them.

You lavish all the money realized on owambe and faaji and you return to square zero after a few months.

So far this pattern continues, you have no right to tell anyone to go back to his state or region.

Previous administrations really dealt this nation a great blow, many years ago a barrel was sold for as high as $150 and inflation was drastically low. Those greedy lots was busy stealing here and send abroad their lots, significant mechanisms should have been put in place to save for the rainy days probably the situation might have been better

You lie. Never was there a time crude sold for as high as 150$ a barrel, the highest price is $147.5 a barrel and that was for just few months.

Between 2015 and 2023 Crude sold for an average of $64 a barrel. It went as high as $100 a barrel in 2022. What did APC and Buhari do with money made from crude sales.

Oil revenue are taxed under petroleum profits taxes not VAT. Your post is baseless .
For example Mtn generates 120billion VAT which is attributed to Lagos but the VAT came from the 36 states and FCT. This new bill will share it based on consumption

The bill did not explain how the consumption by states will be determined.

It's better they they come back themselves and transfer their investment here than been report. So buying dollars to keep now is a bad investment end of January if will be 1000 naira to 1 dollar . I will refer to this post again by end of january.

lol. Dey play. 2025 budget benchmarked dollar at 1400/$. No magic or voodoo will make dollar trade for 1000 by the end of January.

Better save your money in dollars than in naira. That’s what many politicians do.
