Oil based are cakes made with vegetable oil while margarine based are those made with margarine like simas, Napa, Hanno, topper etc...

Just grease your baking pan with your leftover margarine/butter and dust with flour

Won't the cake stick to the baking pan? cos I know one can bake bread with only greasing the baking pan with oil and small flour.

No it won't stick to the pan. BTW what type of cake are you making? If it's oil based you may need to line with a baking paper but if it is margarine or butter based..then just grease with margarine or butter (especially the corners/edges) and dust with flour.
