You can apply with your passport as is, if successful you get a vignette valid for 3 months, then a residence permit in card form not tied to your passport's validity, but where possible see if you can renew it first. 6 months to expiration is the outer limit, but they make exemptions for special cases. Trust me when I say you do not want your passport to expire on you in the UK causing you to have to fellowship with those mad people at the Nigerian High Commission in London.

Thanks a lot for your help! I appreciate

Hi everyone, my passport expires in July 2021, and I intend to apply for my Tier 4 visa next month for a
1-year January 2021 start masters program. Can I apply with my passport having about 8 months validity or do I need to renew my passport first?

Congrats bro. Going through dis your thread and d pix actually made me drool. The Lord that changed your status will change mine too very soon. This country Nigeria has no plan for the youths nor d masses. Na d fastest way to leave dey hunger me. We keep hoping it will get better but it keeps getting worse. Ppl keep saying no place like home but in the real sense to me, home is where joy is and where people can boast of a comfortable life whether abroad or local. Home is where the life of the citizens are more important than anything. Home is where an average citizen can afford 3 square meals per day. Home is where security is well guaranteed. Home is where there is no huge discrepancy between the rich and the poor. Home is where our resources and funds are not being embezzled by our corrupt leaders . Home is where there are job provisions for graduates. HOME is where there is HOPE!! Home is, home is, home is, home is.................. ABROAD

im sori guz...u can requote me...i was trying to quote and answer back but the thread ended and the topic locked......so this new thread should be fine.

icool thers nothing mighty about the switch....most times IT degrees can even be learned off youtube. what you need at times are just certification exam. as for my school they dont need prequisite for IT irrespective of ur background.

mrchemist the documents are mostly transcript. lor, sop and bank statement.

alexandersheriff they dont require official transcript. but now they are requiring transcript to go tru eduusa.(this happend because most naija students who got admited never showed up in school and now they are getting strict). if not, during my time last year all i submitted was just a kpako uniben scanned transcript and other scanned documents and voila admision was ready grin

surgeonheric i wont advice anyone to go for undergraduate in my school. reason is because its freaking expensive shocked...dats were they make their most money from...na big oyibo men children full der o... only the graduate school is cheap because its still new. started about 15yrs back or so.....and so they are still trying to gain reputation and all that .......but for UG...no go der my broda...except ur paleh na obo grin.....

lagosismyhome....no mind d school...i de do free work for them..dem suppose half my tuition grin...thanks anyways

Please has anyone on this forum applied for the Canadian visit visa from the UK before? I will like to confirm if the paper route or online route is faster in the UK. Also the processing time in UK says 9days...please can some one who has applied from the UK recently advise? Thanks in advance.

Yes, please! It would boost your chance of getting the visa. A Bond is a termly contract agreement between you and your employer.

3. A few work-at-home jobs that international students can engage in

4. If you have access to large pool of funds, I will point out some areas in the UK where you can buy some cheap houses and give them out for rent on this thread.

U Welcome this is DareFadi btw. No longer using former

Please stay away from Coventry Uni except if u were given scholarships .... u won't gain anything back from the system and they will kick u out once done. No post study visa for now (well it might change now Uk leaving the EU to PBS ). But what changes nobody knows yet until 2yrs from now......

it would be better finding that masters in a usa school that has a phd program as well. At least after ur masters u are already in d system and can look around the department for prof with grants to give u GA. Maybe u can even finda GA or instate tuition after 1st semester if u r grades are good . Also the post study visa u get after ur program in d usa will give you enough time to find a job and hopefully a h1b visa sponsor.

Oh ok LagosismyHome wink I just got a £3K off my tuition though. I'm hoping to resume this sept.
Can I send you a pm pls? Thanks once again!

I believe the school will have reasons why they waived those tests for you and offered you admission so you need to ask them but I strongly advice you to write one or two of the test so that it can boost your chances and also portray you as a serious and genuine student during visa interview.

Thanks a lot bro Walspring, and ahahnow. The school is accredited and they don't require any of those tests, that was why I even applied. I'll just go with a UK offer I already have, since I can't take any of the tests now and still meet up with this year's sept intake. I'll start looking out for researoch opportunities in the US now, so I can continue with a PhD program after my masters in the UK.

@OJCITY22: No be lie you talk ooo...I don hear baba Walspring wella! Thanks bro, wishing you all the best!

Thanks for helping me type this grin. You must have taken it from my head. Lol

Also when it comes to MBA if you plan to get a good job in the US to gain some work experience then aim for good MBA programs. Its so competitive for jobs and its all about the school, the network and offcourse how u perform in the interview but a good school will coach you as well.... so my person its not how far but how well. Go take GMAT study very well for it and get into another school.

But if u want to come back immediately and just spend dollars then yeah go for it but and even crossing that Vo that another topic

Thanks a lot ma'am DareFadi and brother Mevisbleek...I do appreciate and value your response. I actually got an Elect Elect Eng'g masters offer from Coventry Uni in the UK. I may just opt for that, and then seek available PhD opportunities in the US, as I've got research interest in renewable energy systems.

Many thanks once again!

Congrats on your offer. Its good to know that you are interested in schooling at Coventry. I'll be going there. Well, am not in your line but I have a friend who just got back from Coventry University and graduated with a distinction in Electrical Electronics Engineering but he is not here on nairaland. I could introduce you to him if you don't mind.
Now I have found another person going to Coventry, that's three(3) now.

Thanks a lot bro!

Hello everyone, many thanks to our gurus in the house for all your insightful posts. Please what's your opinion on IGlobal University in Virginia? I got an offer for their MBA program without GRE/Toefl scores, and its the only school in the US that I applied to. Hope applying to only one school and not having GMAT/GRE/Toefl scores won't have any negative effect during my visa interview.

Looking forward to your response, thanks a lot!

Let me suggest to you that if you can get extra £2,500 or £3,000 pounds, why not apply to Strathclyde Univeristy (In top 40 school in UK).

If you have the money, I will suggest you go for Strathclyde Jniveristy but if otherwise is the case or probably you have a better discount or offer in Caledonian Univeristy, then I will say go for it. If you read hard enough and you get a distinction (masters) the school you attended will matter less if you look for Job in Nigeria.

Wait, who told u there are no jobs in the UK and u cant work while schooling. Mehn, I am the one controlling jobs (no pride attached). I choose when and who I want to work with any time that is convenient for me (not clashing with studies).

Sometimes, u will be d one rejecting jobs when they call you becos u dont want to fail. U will be stressed with lots of course work and assignments with limited deadline and you cant copy and paste. So u would need sufficient time to get very good marks which is what u came for.
