Hello there, guys. Since landing in Canada, I haven't had the opportunity to post my Landing Gist. I'm working on making it a visual so that people can see the entire process, which I recorded.

For the PDF I used smallpdf website.

But I tried as much as possible to maximized which and which documents to upload on each sections as you can see from my timeline.

For Valuation, I told the company I dont need the whole valuation booklet, cox the valuation reports is more than 10pages. I just told them I need only 1 copy of valuation letter from them, confirming the property truly exist and the worth of it on their company letterhead.

First and foremost, I want to thank God for this. The journey began in 2018, when I was finishing my Bsc in Malaysia. I applied to University of Calgary (Msc of Computer Science Thesis) 2018 after graduating with First Class in Malaysia, but UCalgary rejected me. In the same year, I applied to 5 different top universities and was rejected by all of them. Then, in 2020 I was so desperate, I applied to 10 top schools in different provinces and was rejected from all the 10. In my mind I was like, are they doing me from home?

I didnt give up, I didnt relent.

Then, in October 2020, I applied to only three of the schools I had been applying to (UCalgary, UAlberta, and UWaterloo), and by March 8, I received a response from UCalgary, who offered me admission with a FULL FUNDING of CAD 54,000 SCHOLARSHIP, meanwhile my tuition is only CAD 16,000 for the two-year program (I was like, Ehn ehn, Good news at the end)

Then I started working on my SP application. Thanks especially to JustMellow of GCMSWriters; I contacted him and he wrote me a fantastic SOP; in fact, I was smiling as I read it.

It took me nearly two months to package all of my documents, and on May 1st, I submitted my application.

Let me add that during each application, I sent hundreds, if not thousands, of messages to potential supervisors before I could finally secured one.

I hope this reaches you well. With careful writing, wish to thank the humble Nation Canada for giving us some privilege to become prospective and full students of Canada schools as this is really bringing a synergy between the two countries(Nigeria and Canada), while also putting both countries on path of growth, thanks to transfer knowledge & technical know-how.

In recent years, the economy of Canada has grown exponentially and thus competing with other great nations of the world on all positive index and ticking the right Indices (among which affordable and top notch educational system is)

That been said, we have now noticed quite delays we applicants are facing to acquire a study permit into Canada. Comparing our processing and decision time with other countries, it is really disheartening that Canada study applications from Nigeria takes minimum of 3 months and on average 6months, while in some instances we've seen applicants get decision between 8 to 14 months.

Just recently, a scheme NIGERIAN STUDENT EXPRESS (NSE) was introduced, this was to mirror the SDS program and act as catalyst in expediating the application process for those you meet up with the requirement, few who got selected for special route NSE hardly get a decision within 3months of their application, as against the stipulated 20 to 30days processing time expressed by IRCC.

The rate at which students defer admission is alarming, this is a recent norm among Nigeria applicants which our different institutions of higher learning attest to and even willfully propose deferment just to cushion the effect due to the delay in decision making from the immigration desk. There is no gain saying most students have set out plans on commencement and time expected/wish to return home after study to impact lives, develop the growing society and help fight economic fall. But the long process have made a lot to alter or extend visions and goals. It is worthy of note that time lost can never be recuperated.
Recently, we seen our colleagues from other countries getting replies and favourable decision in 20 days or even less than that. More worrisome is the ability of IRCC to give 3 different verdict to a single applicant in 3 months whilst their contemporary from other countries do not get a single verdict in 6 months or more. The degree of disparity is shocking and unexplainable

We believe international students are an integral part of the economic & population growth of Canada, so we appeal to the immigration authorities to revisit and reconsider our processing time, to enable our future aspiration see the light if the day in a timely manner.

Better apply for another school. My application took 4months with them and I received rejection letter from them yesterday because they couldnt find me a supervisor.

I initially applied for a thesis based Msc at the University of Calgary (Chemical/petroleum Engineering).. and I had that same message on the portal while I waited for my admission letter which never came.... I now sent a message to the graduate school admin stating my worries, the reply I got was that I should get a supervisor or switch to a course based... I had to switch to a course base then they moved my application from winter to fall... I received my admission letter last month,

But the problem is....UofC dont have option for Course-Base for Computer Science. My Application has been pending with them since November.
They stated it on their website that Supervisor is not required before the start of the program, then after someone apply, they leave ur application on pending till you can get yourself a supervisor.

We are on the same shoe bro. I have applied since November 2018 for Winter 2020. They said the Supervisor I chose dont want to work with me and my application is OPEN to all faculty to review.
