@kashif, Thanks so much.
I finally got someone with a scanner, some of the codes were cleared but these codes remained.

Kindly helpme , the codes are like someone speaking in tongues, have no idea what to do.

1.p0030 / O2 SENSIR 1/1 Heater circuit /H20 Heater control Circuit B1S1
2.p0755/ 2-4 SOLENOID Circuit./Shift solenoid B malfunction
3.p0499/ NVLD canisters vent valve solenoid circuit light/Evaporative emission system vent valve control circuit light.

Kashif:
It was difficult taking out the symptoms you are facing.

You need to find somebody who can scan the vehicle for you. It is a good starting point. Burnt oil perceived could be coming from oil touching hot engine/transmission part.

Shalom.

Hello Sopperescue, Please what are the alternative recommended engine oil and ATF for a 2003 ford explorer? Read SAE 5W-30 is the recommended, currently using Coastal 5W-30 synthetic blend, is this good ? and for the ATF it is using Certified perfomance engineered instead of the Mercon V recommended.. Is it a godd idea? oil change every 3 months regardless of how many KM covered.

My ogas at the top, I need your help, advice on my car transmission.
I recently changed both engine and transmission on my 2002 dodge durango, reason being that oil change period is more than required. Bought a wrong fliter from Ladipupo through a friend, i noticed this during the oil change so therefore unable get another but to use the old filter, the mechanic changed the oil and return back the oid filter. The same day after the oil change , I noticed the transmission won't engage in D. We left the car running up to about 40 minutes and tried again, then it engaged D including all shifters.
The car left the shop and went straight home, on the way home it started making this noise but we couldnt figure out why. On the seond day to the church and came back still same noise. Then decided to check the oil level and do a simple check then noticed that filter screw head has broken off. and some oil dripping down on the floor where it was parked, It is either the mechanic tighten the filter to hard or wrongly, I cant really say but since then series of problem have started. My brother find a means to get another screw head and retighted the filter and added some oil, The car was test driven again and no noise was heard this time, all gears shifts was okay and smooth.
2 days later , about to drive the car out, the dash board showed all shifter lights PRDN12 on at the same time, it move on d but wont reverse, I immediately contacted Mr Gazzuz and he gave me a simple diagnose to look for the P/N switch, clean, salvage both connectors well and try it again. Thanks to Mr Gazzuz. We search everywhere for the switch, located one at the base of the transmission, pulled it out and turn on the car , only 'R' light came on this time. We cleaned the switch inside out and plug it back in but still all lights on, I was guessing it isnt the actuall switch. And till now I havent located any other switch, I've searched online to the best of my knowledge, still dont know exactly where it is.
Then again the worst of it all , i started smelling burnt gear oil, this realy scared me and dont know what to do. I tried finding a mechanic to help scan, till today couldnt find any in the whole of Abeokuta. I am tired.. Please GURU in the house. what should i do
It's been over a month now, and searched for a mechanic to help scan my tranny but suprisingly couldnt find one and still left in the dark on what to do..

AutosRe: Installmental Payment by shotuns: 3:15am On Apr 20, 2017
@ OP, you made my day, this is reality and many Nigerian dealers are yet to understand it is a win win situation, there are protocols to follow and many trusted buyers are ready to do as says, dealers dont have to change their business model, just upgrading would be better. in many countries of the world, auto dealing is a big business. I just wonder why it is a myth in Nigeria. However I agree on that fact that many bad Nigerians made the situation worst, so no one is to be trusted. I'm looking forward to a change in auto business in Nigeria.

lanreajax:
I recently contacted a number of Nairalanders concerning installmental payment for a car after mine was stolen in October. The responses ranged from downright cold to lukewarm at best. Some did not even reply. One replied - ''no deal!!''. I urgently needed a car but was not willing to wipe out my savings or sell shares etc. I then walked into a car dealers shop in Lagos and priced his 2004 Nissan Xterra down to 1.95million. This took over one hour. He thought I had cash. Then I proposed the installemental payment thing and he changed his price to 2.2m. I figured this will still be less than I will pay for bank financing with the exorbitant interest rates and bank fees. As a banker myself I feel robbed when I pay these charges. Besides, loans are very difficult to get now. So I agreed. I paid him 1m on the spot on the 19th of november and wrote a postdated cheque for 500,000 against my november salary. This month, he has a cheque for 250,000 against december salary and in january he will get 250,000 again the balance against february salary. it was a win -win. He charged a premium, and i got to take immediate delivery of my car with a pyt of just 1m.
I just thought i should share this because I feel it is an untapped business opportunity for some of you guys. I dont know any of you personally but by virtue of this forum, I feel like some of you are friends already. ALL of the cars i priced on Nairaland with my proposal are still ''available, bump''. I priced four cars and not one of them has been sold. Disabuse your minds from the notion that all Nigerians are thieves. It is not so! When I took my car to work and mentioned how I bought it to some of my colleagues they immediately took the dealers number and my branch manager just took delivery of a Honda accord for his Mrs. He will pay! Not all Nigerians are thieves.
Just thought I should share this sha. I am not saying you guys should change your business models or do anything that will tie down your capital in a detrimental way. Its just a thought!

Cheers and merry christmas!!!!

@OP , In a situaton where a lady got married at the registry a month to his husband leaving the country for work abroad, but a year after things changed and the husband couldnt be conneted to. 2 years later the lady got married to another man and the man in question also got married outside the country 6 years after. Would there be any problem in the future for the 2 individuals? Because I heard 7 years is the required number of years a woman can wait for his husband after which she could get married again.

They sure do. Check on the website and select your car brand, model, year, part your are looking and you can see the list and various parts you needed in different prices. If you are a regular buyer you get promotion codes to buy even more cheaper. The only problem you may encounter is payment option, they accept PayPal linked with local bank cards or credit cards.

Why do we have a problem understanding the concept of 'apprioprateness' in Nigeria. How good does it sound asking about australian visa matters on the US thread? Is tht not the meaanng of derailing?

Thank you

Hi Sister! I really feel and understand you, it is really sad and heart aching experiencing this kinda situation on the bases of ties and travel history. I really wish there are better ways to actually figure out those with genuine traveling purposes from those that will constitute nuisance in other man's land..
However, 1. Can you please give a guide on how you went for your Australian tourist visa?
2. Did you have a face to face interview ?
3. And what are the documents requested for?
Thank you.

ugomnaanny:
Why is it that VO dont issue single people visas? For the fact one isn't married or doesn't have travel history doesn't mean one is travelling to your country to abscond, when I have my finances and a good paying job here. If am not given an opportunity to visit how then can I have travel history? most countries do use travel history as an edge to granting one visa. Was DENIED an Australian visa yesterday reason because I don't have a travel history and family ties (its well). Since my leave is still very far, would give America a try. If dem give me, fine, if dem no give me , fine. when I marry born, I go try again.

Jeep is a brand of American automobiles that is a division of FCA US LLC (formerly Chrysler Group, LLC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The former Chrysler Corporation acquired the Jeep brand, along with the remaining assets of its owner American Motors, in 1987. The division is headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. Jeep's current product range consists solely of sport utility vehicles and off-road vehicles, but has also included pickup trucks in the past.
The original Jeep was the prototype Bantam BRC. Willys MB Jeeps went into production in 1941 specifically for the military, arguably making them the oldest four-wheel drive mass-production vehicles now known as SUVs. The Jeep became the primary light 4-wheel-drive vehicle of the United States Army and the Allies during World War II, as well as the postwar period. The term became common worldwide in the wake of the war.

Yes, not residing in the Nigeria...just came home for holiday and decided to apply for the B1/B2..However these are some of the criteria they look into, ties to home country ,your place of residence, ( job, family, travel experience, confidence, honesty) but doesn't guaranteed a visa, you have to prove yourself beyond those things you filled during the interview within that 1~2 minutes interview. Those guys are like psychologist, they read you immediately you get to the counter, any mistake on your part or single lie can disqualifies you.
I got a lot of information on the travel section on nairaland, it helps. Thanks to those that shares their experiences, And also prayer is the major Key.

goodpopsy:
@Shotuns.....I will like the know the permanent residence that you hold...does it mean you don't work in Nigeria.huh?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by shotuns: 4:55am On Mar 22, 2017
I totally agree with you. "Confidence" Honesty" Know your onion, know the details of every information you filled in your DS form.
The guy before me applied to go for a conference in the health sector, the VO asked him to define a Centrifuge, but he couldn't that question disqualified him, how on earth would you call yourself a science student and going for this kind of health conference and have no idea of what a centrifuge is. I felt bad for him.

DMeanMan:
How intelligent are you to even think all of us here on this thread are Travel Agents?

You are clearly one of those people that wouldn't take advice or opinion. Just shift abeg.

About HelenaEdwin post, I totally agree with you.

One of the reasons IMO why a lot of people get denied visa is because they lack the confidence to communicate effectively their mission to the US.

I'd share my experience.

I went for my interview late last year. While waiting in line to be interviewed, a fair young lady with her mom where being interviewed, I think they were going on vacation. The young lady (in her late twenties) was clearly nervous and she let that get the better of her. The VO asked her what her responsibilities were at the bank she claims she works and she was just mumbling some unintelligent things, even the mom was disgusted.

There's a way you can tell me that you wash plate for a living and I'd believe and respect for it, and there's a way you'd tell me you are the CEO of a multinational firm and I'g give you the "try again" look.

If you're reading this and your interview is coming up, just go and be great. Look confident and speak confidently.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by shotuns: 2:08am On Mar 22, 2017
