timeboss: You sound like one of these dirt poor illiterate sycophants (I'll fall short of calling you an "amala eater" cos they've started banning me for that term. I don't know how you can ban a Yoruba guy for trying to separate the wheat from the chaffs, by using a term to define the chaffs lol). In as much as I don't think this failed and directionless administration will achieve anything in terms of infrastructures (it's broke, with zero vision and I checked the breakdown of the proposed $20billion loan...nothing there impressed me tbh) - you just went off on a tangent. The topic is about ethnic politics and how Igbos are faring vis-a-vis the Yorubas. So, my point stands. By hook and by crook - Igbos created a lot of billionaires under GEJ with waivers, nepotism, and other means. And when you do that, it's wealth distribution cos a lot of folks would be moved upwards economically. Evidently, they gained something politically from an ethnic perspective during the last administration. Also, they were able to govern their states without debts...that shows fiscal responsibility despite the fact that they never did much in terms of development. Yorubas states, bar Lagos, never achieved anything in terms of development - but they're all heavily indebted. Now, read my post again and educated yourself. A lot of you are just too dumb and ignorance to see through BS. Yorubas aren't even united and you've got folks within the same political party betraying one another for personal interests. So, how are they different? Both groups are their own worst enemies - pot and kettle syndrome. 5 Likes 1 Share |

This thread is very funny. You've got two midgets haranguing about who's taller, due to 1inch difference in height. But how does that change the fact that they're both midgets? - that's all I want to know. Igbos are their own worst enemies, just as Yorubas are their own worst enemies. I'll speak on the last 4 years (the period I started following Nigerian politics). At least, Igbos were able to hijack GEJ's government, thus creating loads of Igbo billionaires. Coupled with how they used nepotism to spread appointments. That's how you manipulate power and spread wealth. And while doing that, they were able to keep their states out of debts. However, I don't think Yorubas achieved that under Tinubu and they definitely don't have the same luxury under this government. Albeit almost all Yoruba states, bar Lagos, are heavily indebted. And when you look at the real power structure in naij - both groups are mostly inconsequential in the scheme of things and those who own the real power structure can always substitute one for the other - to maintain dominance. Meaning: they're both dispensable. So, I don't understand the beef on this thread. Anyway, most Yorubas I know aren't as dumb as the sycophants who populate this forum. And I hope majority of educated Yoruba folks in naij aren't this dumb. I don't know why you would waste ya time in clowning the next person that's in the same predicament that you're in, when you can expend ya time/energy on focusing on how you can better yourself. Especially based on how you lost out in the current administration to become a mere appendage, under one of the worst/most-inept leader to ever govern a country. SMH. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Lmao @ the Yorubas wanking all over the thread. This is the classic case of pot and kettle cos I don't see any difference between the two groups albeit Yorubas are a tad more cohesive. But both are still midgets compared to the Northerners who have everyone on a chokehold. 10 Likes 1 Share |

This is the part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vN-4Xwy-Cw These guys were 19 when they made this classic tune. Compare them to 19-year old rappers today and the difference is clear. 19-year old artists in other genres today are just as dumb. It just shows that we're getting dumber daily on this planet. |

safarigirl: Regardless of what you think about Aguero, he's still the best striker in the EPL. His presence alone is a blessing to any team and tactical errors by Guardiola and philosophical innuendos are the reasons for their "winless run" - not Aguero. Coupled with the fact that he's spiteful towards Toure. This is the EPL, the most physical league on the planet and sometimes you've to grind to win. And when ya whole philosophy is dependent on flair in that type of environment - you'll always hit the low from time to time, without option B. Sane can't get you goals like KDB. And KDB as well can also become a liability when the game gets physical and defensively, he's terrible. I like Nacho and what he brings to the table (top player), but he's still young and lack the regular playing time to make that much of an impact. Sterling will always be Sterling - great pace but inconsistent. And they defend poorly as a unit. I remember the Celtics game: I wrote them off after that game lol. Watch out for Tottenham - that's a team to put ya money on. Ditto Liverpool. Arsenal will run out of steam soon. Man City are poor defensively. Chelsea are still carrying the plague from last season around, albeit Costa has been superb this season, ditto Hazard to an extent. |

safarigirl: Well, the difference between a draw and a win is one goal. And once you put into consideration that Mr.Dependable, when it banging in goals, has been out since Sept. - yet they're still as competitive as they're, shows they've what it takes to go all the way. That's a young core, with players that complement one another. And they're also well coached. I'd wager that they might add two or three players in January (probably a decent striker) and make the push for it. Hence I'm betting on them. Don't forget that Tottenham were in the Europa league last season, till they were eliminated by Dortmund. And they were still competitive till the last three games of the season, when they fell apart due to inexperience. A year removed from that: they're much more experienced, with new pieces. Sissoko is coming into his own. Ditto Heung-min. Then, you've Lamela and Eriksen - with Alli in his 2nd year in the EPL, after being named the best midfielder in the under-21. Coupled with the fact that they're solid at the back. Alderweireld hasn't been playing, yet they're still solid at the back. I'm a Chelsea fan but I don't see Chelsea winning the league or finishing anywhere above Tottie. I've to be realistic. Costa is responsible for our league position cos he has been on top form since the season started and he's solely responsible for a few wins. Batshuayi has been a flop thus far, albeit Kante is a great addition. Hazard is playing well. Fab is Fab - decent going forward, but always a liability when it comes to defending. And we still have the same problems we had at the back last season, with the Ivanovic, Terry, and Cahill who're a year older and slower. Then you've the calamity David Luiz as an addition. Costa is going to be Costa soon and do some boneheaded things that will get him banned for a few games and that defence can't go a whole season playing the way it has been for a few weeks, without tiring out. Those guys are old. So, I don't see Chelsea doing anything this season albeit I like the promotion of Chalobah, Aina, and Solanke to the first team, especially Chalobah. And the jury is still out on Conte. Yes, he's the mad one...but he hasn't proven anything in EPL yet. |

koolkalm: Lol. I don't have any dog in this fight...just posting based on observation. Tottie have a better core of talented young players that have been together for like three seasons now. And they're a well coached team. Once Harry Kane comes back, they should switch it up by another gear. Coupled with the fact that Kane always peak once it gets to winter, till the end of the season and Alli's form has been superb thus far. I'm sure you know the number of goals/wins this combo was responsible for last season. However, with Arsenal, the team can't play better than it's playing right now and by January, they should go back to the 4th position and make a run from there to finish top-4 at the end of the season. That's classic Arsenal lol. Anyway, you can get emotional all you want - but Arsenal can't win the EPL without a decent striker. Even Leicester had Vardy last season and Mahrrz came through when he needed to. 3 Likes |

sarutobie: Arsenal is an accursed team. A team without a striker that can get you 20 goals a season isn't a contender. Arsenal will always be Arsenal - run to the top, then drop off later in the season. Harry Kane isn't even playing, yet Tottie is very competitive. When he comes back, with Alli's form, they should do wonders with that young core. I like Tottenham's chances. Ditto Liverpool - the best team in the EPL right now IMO. Man City are just an Aguero injury away from falling apart. And they just won a game in the last 5/6 games or so. 1 Like 2 Shares |

I'm not even a Man UTD fan but this has to be the worst badly assembled expensive players in the history of football. The pieces just don't make sense despite the fact that they have loads of promising players. They need a clear out and injection of the right pieces that would fit in and complement one another. This team looks like Sacramento Kings in the NBA...Mourinho won't win anything with these guys. I feel sorry for the Big Mou - the last two years have been the worst in his career. Hopefully, he'll use the Jan window to make things right. Wanna see him excel. Anyway, either Liverpool or Tottenham will most likely win the league. My Chelsea lack depth in vital areas to go all the way. Arsenal is gonna drop off to where it belongs in Jan. And Man. City is gonna fall apart soon. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Toks2008: Lol. You're stark illiterate. The fact that you wrote "polygamy" and went on a nutjob rambling about "polygyny" is enough to show that you're an unlettered goblin and you don't even know what the hell you're talking about. Follow these three steps: 1). Go to ya dictionary and check the meanings of "hypocrisy" and "idiosyncrasy". 2). Read the three main reasons for polygyny: - Economic reasons due to patriarchy and poverty levels of societies where polygyny is prevalent. - Shortage of men due death (wars and other things in those societies). - Breeding with men with better genes. 3). Now, read through ya vacuous ramblings lettered 1-13 and tell me if there's any correlation whatsoever with those two words and reasons I posited. The joke is on you, you puerile illiterate kid. You write like a 12-year old...and I doubt you're older than 15. Fix up, little boy. I'm out...don't reduce my IQ. 1 Like |

AZeD1: Lol. I'm good, bruddah. It's not like I'm a fan of polygyny (which is what the topic is about) or even marriage the way it's structured traditionally. I was just perusing the thread trying to read something interesting cos most times, I don't even bother due to all the vacuous thesis these folks post back and forth, while saying a lot, without actually saying anything. Anyway, I just posted cos of the use of "hypocrisy" and "idiosyncrasy" when there's nothing substantial in there about the two words. The only thing partially sensible in the write-up is the "number of unmarried ladies" albeit he ascribed that to irresponsibility, especially when the problem in societies where folks indulge in polygyny has more to do with economic reasons and shortage of men due to death. In Africa for example, where the black men control patriarchy and the onus of survival is dependent on men - there will always be shortage of men, due to economic reasons, and death via wars (instability of those places) and other collateral damages involved in survival. The same can be said about other places, especially 3rd world Muslim countries. And this has always been the reason for polygyny since time immemorial, albeit breeding with males who possess better genes can also be a factor. Regardless, you can't really argue hypocrisy against the lifestyle cos in western societies where the lifestyle is banned, with white male patriarchy running the show - you still see elements of indirect polygyny amongst the most downtrodden demographics of the population cos of shortage of men. In this case, it's unlawful to marry more than one wife...however, there are tons of men with kids with multiple women. And once you analyse it, it has absolutely nothing to do with irresponsibility - and more to do with economic reasons, death, and mass incarceration. The black population in the US is a classic example. It's a norm there to see black men have kids with multiple women cos there's a shortage of men, due to how they don't measure up economically, deaths due to the gang/drug culture, and disproportionate mass incarceration. |

Lol. This is why this forum is the toilet of the internet. Especially with the type of topics jobless kids who neither have full understanding/experience of the subject-matter and English words they dabble into and use. I believe in ya mind you think you wrote something cerebral, after writing over 500 words of pure tosh, with no correlation whatsoever with the topic. This is basically an IQ reducing ramblings of an illiterate kid. 1). I believe you don't know the meaning of "idiosyncrasy" cos after perusing through the junk illiterate-write, I didn't see any idiosyncrasy there. 2). You can't really argue for "hypocrisy" when the points you argued against (albeit all over the place in your argument) are simplistic things you made up in ya head and not what the real proponents of polygamy use as posturing for engaging in the lifestyle. Honestly, you and the idiotic mod who pushed this trash to the FP deserve to be thoroughly flogged for this rubbish. A lot of you don't even read what you write, especially the utter ridiculousness in ya thought process, yet you always think you've the answers to everything. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
