The only thing that changes is the figure. However, the only way it can have bearing on the GDP is if it boosts export due to low prices compared to other markets. Then you'll gradually see an increment in GDP. And that isn't something that happens overnight - that takes place over a period of time.

Let me use scientific terms: it's basically like comparing directly proportional vis-a-vis inversely proportional. You're making an argument for directly proportional. But what I'm trying to tell you is that: it's more of inversely proportional, albeit a conditional one that's dependent on the economy being an exporting one. And the effect isn't an instant one. It's just basically like how both Japan and China manipulate their currencies and keep low, so as to enable them export at lower prices. Thus enhancing their economic growth and GDP.

Regardless, devaluation of currency has no bearing on GDP and GDP per capita.
